Résumé :

In this theoretical review paper, the authors discuss five important issues about the science of cyber behavior as a field of scientific research. First, they argue that the science of cyber behavior as a field of research is entering its adolescence after growing from its childhood, but before spearheading into its adulthood. The paper reviews the current understanding of human behavior in general and state that behavior sciences have generated extensive knowledge about human behavior theoretically, empirically, and methodologically across multiple disciplines. Next, the authors focus on cyber communication as an example to illustrate current knowledge about various types of cyber behaviors. They showcase exemplary research programs on cyber behavior in four disciplines of behavioral sciences, social psychology, cognitive psychology, communication studies, and sociology. Finally, the paper outlines future research programs in five major directions for further development of the field. Taking the opportunity to commemorate the inaugural issue of the International Journal of Cyber Behavior, Psychology and Learning, the authors attempt to draw the first sketch of the science of cyber behavior from the perspective of history of science.

Interviews with bloggers examine the ongoing use of blogs to cope with the persistent community stress New Orleans has experienced post-Hurricane Katrina. Previously, the field of media studies has overlooked blogs’ coping role. Cyber psychology has explored blogs’ role in individual and emotional coping, but not task-oriented efforts to ameliorate sources of community stress. Among other insights, the unique intersection of media studies and cyber psychology explored in this study illuminates the double-edged sword that is the imagined audience. While a positive source of social support, efforts to attract and maintain an audience can impose the perceived pressure to “keep face” and maintain an angry blogging persona beyond its useful cathartic value. Combining perspectives from cyber psychology and media studies, this study contributes a more multifaceted understanding of how residents may use social media to cope with individual and community stress than has been explored in previous research.

AbstractWhile flirting is a relatively underresearched area within psychology, even less is known about how people cyber-flirt. This paper explores how often individuals flirt offline compared to online. Moreover, it attempts to examine how men and women flirt within these different spaces. Five thousand, six hundred and ninety-seven individuals, of which 3554 (62%) were women and 2143 (38%) were men, completed a survey about their flirting behaviour both in face-to-face interactions and in chatrooms. The first hypothesis, which stated that the body would be used to flirt with as frequently online as offline, was partly supported. However, it was found that individuals downplayed the importance of physical attractiveness online. Women flirted by displaying nonverbal signals (offline) or substitutes for nonverbal cues (online), to a greater extent than men. In chatrooms men were more likely than women to initiate contact. It is concluded that cyber-flirting is more than simply a meeting of minds and that future research needs to consider the role of the body in online interactions.

It draws attention to the functions of media education in relation to civil society, the society of knowledge, and the society of communication democracy. In the modern media civilization, these competences, acquired through formal and informal education, are the basis for conscious functioning in many social roles (eg citizen, consumer) and dealing with disinformation. The last part of the article is dedicated to shaping media competences in young children (2.5-7 years old), who should develop these skills under the care of an adult. The work is aimed at examining the use of virtual reality (VR) technologies in clinical psychology in Europe. More than 37 issues of the journal "Cyberpsychology, Behavior, and Social Networking" with impact factor 2.3 were analyzed, and the articles reflect both cyber and clinical and psychological orientation. The "keyword method" was used to analyze the text, which is understood as a search for typical terms that designate a criterion or replace it. Then the keyword "virtual reality" was associated primarily with the types of disorders in clinical psychology of the classification of group F (according to ICD-10). The topics "virtual reality" and "clinical psychology" are the most frequently discussed topics in the field of the problem area "cyberpsychology". According to the study, the possible applications of virtual reality in the field of clinical psychology are essentially limited to three disorders: anxiety disorders, depression, and autism. According to publications of specialists in general psychology, the term "virtual reality" is not mentioned, which shows that this topic is of secondary importance.

Futurology is an inherently interdisciplinary field. Anderson and Melnik's essay deals with how likely technological developments will affect both the process and the subject matter of psychotherapy. It is optimistic about the future of psychology as the profession enters a revolution in technological applications as potentially discipline-changing as medicine underwent with the development of antibiotics, high-tech prosthetics and diagnostic tools, and new surgical, life-saving, and life-enhancing techniques. All these innovations will bring new options for treatment, but also new temptations and dangers. This essay adds social, economic, and theological perspectives concerning the proper ethical home for cyber-psychology. While technological developments can benefit individuals, groups, and society, pitfalls include temptations of power, intergroup conflict, and diagnostic creep. Proper preparationfor the future requires encouraging human virtues like altruism and intellect, restraining human flaws like error proneness, ignorance, selfishness, and harmful competition, as well as avoiding the accidental misuse of technology, and mobilizing newfound powers in the service of the common good.

Cyber-bullying includes repeated acts with the aim of scaring, angering, or embarrassing those who are targeted Cyber-bullying is happening along with the rapid development of technology and social media in society. The media and users need to filter out bully comments because they can indirectly affect the mental psychology that reads them especially directly aimed at that person. By utilizing information mining, the system is expected to be able to classify information circulating in the community. One of the classification techniques that can be applied to text-based classification is Naïve Bayes. The algorithm is good at performing the classification process. In this research, the precision of the algorithm's has been carried out on 1000 comment datasets. The data is grouped manually first into the labels "bully" and "not bully" then the data is divided into training data and test data. To test the system's ability, the classified data is analyzed using the confusion matrix method. The results showed that the Naïve Bayes Algorithm got the level of precision at 87%. and the level of area under the curve (AUC) at 88%. In terms of speed of completing the system, the Naïve Bayes Algorithm has a very good rate of speed with completion time of 0.033 seconds.

The article presents the research on the cyber immunity formation for primary school students. We present the results of research to identify the youngest audience communicating on social networks and facing cyberbullying. To identify an average level of primary school students psychological immunity components formation against cyberbullying, the following methods are considered: ’Self-regulation level definition in intellectual activity’ by N.V. Ulenkova; emotional intelligence test by Hall; ‘Anagram’ methods for reflexivity of thinking level definition; ‘Concepts Comparison’ methods for the research of students’ mental operations: analysis, synthesis, comparison; ‘Simple analogies’ methods to detect the awareness as a quality of critical thinking; independence of thinking test (from the methodological complex ‘Prognosis and prevention of studying problems’ by L.A. Yasyukova); Lippman’s ‘Logical patterns’ test for the assessment of the logic of thinking. According to the results of the problem theoretical analysis, empirical research and psychological analysis of fairy tales, the main areas of work in the context of cyber immunity primary school children formation are identified. Self-rating and self-worth development, socialization, emotional intelligence, self-regulation and critical thinking are the important stages for cyber immunity formation process. Several directions of psychological work with younger students have been identified. Informing children about the inadmissibility and consequences of cyberbullying on the Internet, the development of media literacy. They also presented a multifunctional, effective method of narrative psychology of childhood – the psychological analysis of fairy tales to form meaningful qualities. Identification of children with the characters of fairy tales and their behavior develops new adaptive skills, and awareness of the falsity of the actions of the characters forms critical thinking. The tale of G.H. Andersen’s «Ugly Duckling» helps to build self-esteem and the formation of emotional intelligence. It also helps in the search and development of resources from various threats, including cyberbullying. The Ukrainian folk tale «Bunny’s Hut» will help to form important components of cyberimmunity – the child’s ability to defend himself and the ability to ask for help from others.

At present the Industry 4.0 is the most probable vector of industrial development which can principally change the role and place of man in physical economy. In our view, its resulting consequence will be a fundamental change of human psychology and public relations. The aim of the article is an analysis of the internal reasons of the Industry 4.0 unwinding and forecasting the state of society and man which can take place in the mature phase of this future industrial reality. The author brings forth a hypothesis that establishment of the Industry 4.0 will result in driving out man from the industry with delivering to the cyber-physical systems first the mechanical functions and then the communicational, economic and technological ones. In the final count, man will retain only two types of functions — the project-oriented and the worldview ones, the access to which on part of the cyber-physical systems seems rather unlikely. The completion of this process results in vanishing the forces that support the integrity and unity of today’s society. Preservation of the civilization will require a new social foundation, which, in our view, will be established by an increased interdependence od individuals: creation of colossal amounts of information pressed into multi-layered images and operating them will be possible to perform alone. It is only within the power for an intellectual network made of individual consciousnesses united on the integral ethical platform.

The article presents the results of an empirical study, focusing on the association between self-concept clarity, online behavior and self-presentation in adolescence. The study was conducted in the framework of the research project “Digital Portrait of Contemporary Adolescents”, operated by the Center for Inter- disciplinary Research on Contemporary Childhood in Moscow State University of Psychology and Education. The data was collected in February 2020. 52 adolescents, studying in School № 27 in Mitischi (Russia, Moscow Region) took part in the survey. The following methods were used: Self-Concept Clarity Scale (SCCS, J. Campbell); The Presentation of Online Self-Scale (POSS, C. Fullwood); Face- book Intensity Scale (FIS, N.B. Ellison); Chen Internet Addiction Scale (CIAS, S.W. Chen); Online Activity Questionnaire (O.V. Rubtsova, T.A. Poskaklova). Data shows that strategies of adolescents’ interaction and self-presentation in social networks relate to their self-concept clarity. Adolescents with low self-concept clarity tend to experiment in virtual space: they often provide inaccurate information about themselves and create numerous cyber-identities. This group of adolescents is also inclined to risky online behavior and Internet-addiction. All these indicators improve with the increase of self-concept clarity. Internet has allowed for a certain flexibility regarding the limits of connection, communication, and collaboration between people. It is, however, necessary that we maintain a critical stance towards its affordances so that we can continue to improve upon them. In this autoethnographic vignette, I will try to share my experience as a virtual, ‘disembodied other’ in a collaborative learning environment, focusing mainly on the limitations and problems I encountered during the process. This experience pertains to the project hub2001: An Internet Odyssey, which was developed for the course Cyber Cultures: Psychosocial implicationsoffered by the Psychology Department of Panteion University, Athens, Greece in the spring semester of the 2015-16 academic year. During this project, I participated virtually in the weekly lectures and meetings between the tutor and his assistants, and reflected, both individually and at the group level, on the course process. One of these reflections is further explored in this paper, aiming to present an experience which, although personal, can contribute in our understanding of the lived reality of the increasingly more common remote collaboration and virtual presence, especially in academic environments.

This paper discusses the problems connected with visible changes in industry in the context of the consequent four industrial revolutions. The last one is associated with “industry 4.0”, which in turn manifests in the presence of the following constitutive parts (systems): cyber physical systems, the Internet of Things, the Internet of Services and intelligent factories. Another important factor of the ongoing changes is the appearance of a new branch, which tries to comprise in its theoretical divagations the problems discussed in IT, mathematics, neurophysiology, electronics, psychology, anthropology and philosophy. In the experimental area this realm, in turn, is treated as a branch of IT. All these constituents can be defined as artificial intelligence. The aim of this research is an attempt to answer the question posed in the title of the article, taking into consideration the potentially most holistic approach to these problems in the context of sustainable development of the constituent capitals taking into consideration not only the increasing of opportunities but maximizing the benefits in the natural, social and economic spheres.

AbstractNew threats from cyber bullying, new risks and vulnerabilities, can have serious consequences for national security. For this reason, it is necessary for specialists in preventing and combating terrorism and organized crime to be noticed through ingenuity, predictability and a good knowledge of human psychology. This will ensure the information filter necessary to make the best decisions for the defense of the Romanian state. The Italian intelligence service considers that the terrorist threat is the main security priority and that “Islamic radicalism remains a first-rate threat, despite the significant losses suffered by Daesh (Arabic acronym of the Islamic State - no)” in Iraq and Syria. In addition to terrorism, the Intelligence Services also warn of several other potential threats to the security of the states, including increasing the presence of extreme right-wing groups characterized by racism and intolerance. “These groups have been set up, which have a good implantation especially among the youngest, and the best organized ones do not lack the connections with other organized crime networks. In line with the fight against corruption, it is necessary in the new National Security Strategy to ensure an important place to combat the phenomenon and causes of corruption, corruption being considered a threat to national security.

The aim of this paper is to create a comprehensive image of power at the beginning of the XXI-st century. The research objectives are related to: i. the radiography of the perception of the political power regarding the main actors: USA, Russian Federation and China; ii. the identification of the relationship between global economy conditions, terrorist attacks and the dynamics of the political power in international arena; iii. the estimation of the magnitude of the statistical correlation between economic development, democratic order and the perception of the political power in international sphere. The research design is obviously quantitative, being based on descriptive statistics and linear and non-linear equations of regressions for estimating the main predictors and vectors which could influence the perception of the power. We use comparative case studies between USA, Russian Federation and China for exploring several associations between independent factors and the perception of the power and influence in the international context. Regarding the empirical findings, we have to stress that China’s power and influence are related with cyber-attacks from other countries (r = 0.707, p < 0.01) and USA’s power and influence are related with the conditions of the global economy ( r = 0.594, p = 0.01). Regarding the perception of the Russian Federation’s power and influence, we can observe linear associations with cyber-attacks (r = 0.605, p = 0.01) and flawed democratic order (r = 0.429, p= 0.02). Empirical findings reflect a new political geometry in the international arena, where the classical system is replaced by a multipolar model with two dominant political actors: USA and China. Synthesising, this article reflects the importance of the political perception and the political psychology in the sphere of international relations, where we can make the distinction between real and potential (or perceived) political power. This new geometry implies a new level of significance and a new semiotic strategy for interpreting both subjective and objective facts of the political world.

The industry development over the last hundred years has had a huge impact on the development of technological infrastructure and life change. Three main components of this development are related to personalization: a car as a personal vehicle and greater personal freedom; a personal computer as a means of intellectual autonomy; a personal phone as a means of freedom of communication and access to information. These three development factors significantly changed the employee psychology and created the conditions for diffusion of qualitatively new, synthesized (cyber-physical) technologies that became the basis of the Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things – two main working concepts of industrial and infrastructural development for the next 20 years. The conventional or classical industrial systems that are dominant to the present day have mainly been based on the principles of human muscle energy replacement, but the technological changes of our days raise the question of the substantial scale of displacement of the living manpower both in production and in management and services. The process of technological and industrial transformation that has already begun will inevitably lead to the transformation of social and economic systems, and here the key problem will not only be the provision of a new quality of economic growth, but also the solution of the employment problem interfacing a new technological platform, the information and social infrastructure of society.

This study aims to clarify how the quality of the family environment is related to the involvement in cyberbullying behaviors, either as a cyber-victim or as a cyber-aggressor, via a cross-sectional research design. With this purpose a diagnostic questionnaire with questions about both the quality of family environment and cyberbullying was conceived and administered to 3525 adolescents attending 6th, 8th and 11th grades at several schools in Portugal. The results suggested that two family aspects seem to be equally important in protection against cyberbullying: perception of family support and perception of rules within the family. A hierarchical regression analysis reveals that lack of family support is more predictive of cyber-victimization and that a lack of family rules is more predictive of cyber-aggression. The authors discuss the implications for the well-being of adolescents, as well as the challenges that parents face in the supervision of adolescents' use of digital technologies.

Phenomenon of disembodiment of users of information technologies in virtual reality, in particular as a special form of self-alienation, was already noted by the first representatives of cyber culture. However, psychologists have not properly analyzed it yet, perhaps, due to the usual peripheral position of the problem of disembodiment of a physical body in psychology. In the present study we continue to develop our theoretical and empirical construct of the Disembodiment on the Internet (N.V. Kopteva, A.Yu. Kalugin, L.Ya. Dorfman) as a psychological impact of the use of contemporary information technologies in areas related to self-alienation and alienation. The construct is based on the conception of unembodiment of the mental self from the body by a British psychiatrist R. Laing, which is considered to be one of the fundamental psychiatric conceptions of disembodiment of the physical self. R. Laing’s description of the ‘detachment’ of schizoids from their own body helps understand the specifics of existential positions of embodiment - disembodiment determined by sociocultural, technological factors and choices made by individuals themselves. Our study was performed on a sample of active Internet users - students of humanitarian institutes of higher education (aged from 17 to 25 years) - with the use of the Disembodiment on the Internet diagnostic procedure. We revealed groups that differentiated in the severity of disembodiment and created their psychological portraits according to patterns of disembodiment, which include experience of unbodiliness of the virtual self, incompleteness and secondariness of the technological way of being limited by the Internet environment and Internet addiction. We also empirically detected the effects of disembodiment on the alienation of students in different aspects of their life (from who they are, from their families, in interpersonal communication, from their studies and the society) ranging from ‘vegetativeness’ to adventurism.

The present study focused on the impact of gender and gender stereotype traits (i.e., masculinity, femininity) on cyber aggression perpetration utilizing different technologies (i.e., social-networking sites, gaming consoles, mobile phones) and behaviors (i.e., cyber relational aggression, cyber verbal aggression, hacking). Participants included 233 eighth graders (108 female; Mage = 13.26, SD = 0.36) from two middle schools in the Midwestern United States. Adolescents completed questionnaires on their endorsement of masculinity and femininity traits as well as how often they engaged in cyber aggression perpetration (i.e., cyber relational aggression, cyber verbal aggression, hacking) through mobile phones, social-networking sites, and gaming consoles. Findings indicated that boys and girls with more feminine traits engaged in more cyber relational aggression through social-networking sites and mobile phones, while boys and girls who endorsed more masculine traits perpetrated this behavior and cyber verbal aggression more often through online gaming. In addition, these boys and girls engaged in more hacking through all technologies when compared with girls and boys who reported more feminine traits. Results of this study indicate the importance of delineating gender stereotype traits, behaviors, and technologies when examining cyber aggression perpetration.

The current study sought to specifically examine the affect of teasing by way of technology (cyber-teasing) and the importance of the redressive component of a tease. A triangulated approach was used here to gain better insight into the concept of “hurtful” cyber-teasing between romantic partners. A pretheoretical model was developed highlighting the possible associations between teasing via technology and relational outcomes. Findings provide researchers with the prevalence of hurtful cyber-teasing and the associated personal and relational outcomes. In addition, the relationship between hurtful cyber-teasing and the reasons why certain messages escalated into face-to-face verbal aggression and physical violence were also revealed. These results are discussed in light of the inability of technology to fully transmit the redressive nonverbal component of a cyber-tease.

<p>This study examines the correlation between risk perception, knowledge, social influence, self-efficacy, and cyber bullying behavior from the perspective of the attitude-social influence-efficacy model. The samples in this survey are adolescents who have had cyber bullying behavior or have witnessed their peers’ cyber bullying behavior. The results showed that attitude towards cyber bullying affected cyber bullying intention, and that intention also influenced cyber bullying behavior. Social influence also had an impact on cyber bullying intention and cyber bullying behavior. In fact, intention was a mediator between attitude and behavior, as well as between social influence and behavior. </p>

The purpose of this study was to develop and provide initial validation for a measure of adult cyber intimate partner aggression (IPA): the Cyber Aggression in Relationships Scale (CARS). Drawing on recent conceptual models of cyber IPA, items from previous research exploring general cyber aggression and cyber IPA were modified and new items were generated for inclusion in the CARS. Two samples of adults 18 years or older were recruited online. We used item factor analysis to test the factor structure, model fit, and invariance of the measure structure across women and men. Results confirmed that three-factor models for both perpetration and victimization demonstrated good model fit, and that, in general, the CARS measures partner cyber aggression similarly for women and men. The CARS also demonstrated validity through significant associations with in-person IPA, trait anger, and jealousy. Findings suggest the CARS is a useful tool for assessing cyber IPA in both research and clinical settings.

The paper presents a review and essays on the hygienic aspects of the problem of robotics. The absence of generally accepted international terminology is noted. There is given a definition of basic terms as a robot, an artificial intelligence system (AIS), and a cyber-physical system (CFS) - according to authoritative sources. In the literature, the term robot is often used to mean CFS. The origin of robots in Russia is briefly described. The role of AIS as the basis of a technological breakthrough is considered. There is represented statistical data on the scientific, economic, and social aspects of the introduction of robotics. Robots are believed to be more likely to replace tasks rather than jobs and create new types of them. The medical and social aspects of robotization based on the experience of the European Union, the USA, and South Korea are examined, and the prospects of creating "smart jobs" are emphasized. The types of robots and their application in industry and medicine for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation are described. It is emphasized that robots are the most advanced machines. The dangers created by robots, their causes, and possible consequences from physical (noise, vibration), chemical, electrical, ergonomic, and other perils are described. The presence of both "traditional" and new risk factors is noted. The systematics of the stages of human-robot interaction is proposed: ethical aspects in the design, communication psychology, contacts with the machine during its use and safety aspects, human physiological responses, possible clinical manifestations of health disorders. The safety principles of robots and CFS are formulated, and that the "smarter" the robots, the greater the risks of program failures and breakdowns are noted. The role of information hygiene and the need for training and health education of workers and the population are examined. Estimates are given of the prospects for the robotization of the profession. The occupation of hygienists in the era of digitalization and robotization is noted to have a future.
