The electric power system plays an important role in sensor networks. In the marine seismic exploration streamer system (MSESS), an underwater power system transmits high-voltage direct current to all nodes in the streamer through a daisy chain structure. When the length of a streamer is increased to a certain value, the output current of the power supply increases sharply. This results in the activation of the overcurrent protection and t

Résumé :
A daily discharge prediction system is developed by the Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) using real daily discharge data, ANN have great generalization ability and guarantee global minima for given training data. In the paper, with 8 years long-term daily information, the ANN can construct a very high precision daily discharge forecasting system. The experiment shows that the predicted curve well regresses the observed curve. It can be concluded that this technique can be seen as a very promising option to solve nonlinear regression.

Résumé :
Abstract Scholars have been monitoring the signs of social isolation and weakening of family ties among Americans. This paper asks: (1) Do Americans socially disengage from society as they age? (2) Are family ties replaced by work or friends as Americans grow out of their original family? Using a state representative sample of egocentric network data (Person to Person Study: P2P) and a national representative sample of time dairy data (American Time Use Survey: ATUS) during 2018-2021, we found that although people spent less social time with others as they age, they maintained a stable sized c

Résumé :
Abstract BACKGROUND MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are post-transcriptional regulators of gene expression that play an important role during cancer initiation and progression. Genome-wide functional screening using the CRISPR/Cas9 system is a powerful tool to uncover genetic dependencies for distinct tumor entities, and has revealed novel insights into pan-cancer fitness genes. Current libraries are focused on single guide RNAs (sgRNAs) targeting protein-coding genes, thereby limiting functional genomics-based investigations of miRNA function. MATERIAL AND METHODS We here designed a novel CRISPR/Cas9 knoc
