Lateral epicondylitis is one of the most common causes of elbow pain and has been known to be caused by degeneration of the extensor carpi radialis brevis (ECRB). Nonoperative treatment should be tried first in all patients, because it has been deemed highly successful; however only few prospective studies suggest that symptoms frequently was completely resolved. Operative treatment is indicated for recalcitrant pain after failed conservative treatment, which involves excision of the pathologic portion of the ECRB and results in a high degree of subjective relief and functional restoration. Résumé :
Electronic commerce requires the redefinition of the firm’s relationships with partners, suppliers, and customers. The goal of effective customer relationship management (CRM) practice is to increase the firm’s customer equity, which is defined by the quality, quantity, and duration of customer relationships (Fjermestad & Romano, 2003). The explosive development of the online market and the rapid evolution of customer management applications have determined the companies to implement electronic customer relationship management (eCRM) systems, which are using advanced technology to enhance customer relationship management practices. The successful implementation of an eCRM system requires a specific combination of IT applications that support the classic domains of the CRM concept: marketing, sales, and service (Kennedy, 2006). Electronic marketing aims for acquiring new customers and moving existing customers to further purchases. Electronic sales try to simplify the buying process and to provide superior customer support. Electronic service has the task to provide electronic information and services for arising questions and problems or to convey customers to the right contact person in the organization. The eCRM system comprises a number of business processes, interlinked in a logical succession: • Market segmentation: The collection of historical data, complemented with information provided by third parties (such as marketing research agencies), is segmented on the basis of customer life-time value (CLV) criteria, using data mining applications. • Capturing the customer: The potential customer is attracted to the Web site of the firm through targeted promotional messages, diffused through various communication channels. • Customer information retrieval: The information retrieval process can be either implicit or explicit. When implicit, the information retrieval process registers the Web behaviour of customers, using specialized software applications, such as “cookies.” On the other hand, explicit information can be gathered through direct input of demographic data by the customer (using online registration forms or questionnaires). Often, these two categories of information are connected at database level. • Customer profile definition: The customer information collected is analyzed in relation with the target market segments identified through data mining, and a particular customer profile is defined. The profile can be enriched with additional data (e.g., external information from marketing information providers). This combination creates a holistic view of the customer, his needs, wants, interests and behaviour (Pan & Lee, 2003). • Personalization of firm-customer interaction: the customer profile is used to identify the best customer management campaign (CMC), which is applied to personalize the company-customer online interaction. • Resource management: The company-customer transaction require complex resource management operations, which are partially managed automatically, through specialized IT-applications, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Supply Chain Management (SCM), and partly through the direct involvement and coordination of operational managers.

Résumé :
Customer relationship management (CRM) is a concept for increasing companies’ profitability by enabling them to identify and concentrate on their profitable customers. The term “electronic commerce customer relationship management” (ECCRM) refers to the application of CRM in electronic commerce, i.e., when business relationships are maintained via the Internet or World Wide Web. Previous studies on the effectiveness of ECCRM have often focused on the process level, technical aspects, or on marketing issues. Yet only little evidence has been reported for the impact of ECCRM on the company level. In this chapter we present the results from a large-scale empirical study investigating the impact of ECCRM on corporate success in electronic commerce. The study comprises 469 cases of general companies in the German-speaking market. We find that ECCRM is a critical success factor in electronic commerce, independent of companies’ time on the Web. It is especially critical for B2C and small companies.

Résumé :
Electrical cortical stimulation mapping (ECM) is a neurophysiological technique used to help identify the epileptogenic zone (area of brain responsible for a person’s epilepsy). ECM accomplishes this in two ways: (1) direct stimulation of a specified cortical area resulting in the patient’s habitual seizures and (2) the understanding of specific cortical function based on ECM studies. This chapter begins by reviewing neurophysiological concepts underlying ECM. It then continues with an anatomical survey of cortical function as defined by ECM and an explanation of how the identified cortical functions relate to understanding seizure semiology. It proceeds to examine the techniques for electrically provoking seizures and interpretation of such provoked seizures. It concludes by exploring advanced electrophysiological concepts and how they may improve characterization of the epileptogenic zone. In short, this chapter seeks to conceptualize the use of ECM in accurately identifying the epileptogenic zone and informing safe surgical treatment when necessary.

Résumé :
There is increasing interest in maturity models dating back to the 1980s. A maturity model is a management tool designed to help organizations implement effective processes in a given management discipline. This chapter provides comparative assessment of three enterprise content management (ECM) maturity models that have been developed and implemented in different parts of the world. While the maturity model concept has existed for several decades, ECM maturity models are a more recent phenomenon. This study explores the theoretical foundations and functionality drawing lessons that could contribute to future developments. It outlines a history of maturity models and describes three ECM models developed in different parts of the world and compares the different levels and dimensions of maturity levels within the models. The chapter demonstrates that the different maturity models have varied naming conventions, different levels of complexity, and vary in the approach to maturity assessment.

This chapter presents three novel hybrid techniques for data imputation viz., (1) Auto-associative Extreme Learning Machine (AAELM) with Principal Component Analysis (PCA) (PCA-AAELM), (2) Gray system theory (GST) + AAELM with PCA (Gray+PCA-AAELM), (3) AAELM with Evolving Clustering Method (ECM) (ECM-AAELM). Our prime concern is to remove the randomness in AAELM caused by the random weights with the help of ECM and PCA. This chapter also proposes local learning by invoking ECM as a preprocessor for AAELM. The proposed methods are tested on several regression, classification and bank datasets using 10 fold cross validation. The results, in terms of Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE,) are compared with that of K-Means+Multilayer perceptron (MLP) imputation (Ankaiah & Ravi, 2011), K-Medoids+MLP, K-Means+GRNN, K-Medoids+GRNN (Nishanth & Ravi, 2013) PSO_Covariance imputation (Krishna & Ravi, 2013) and ECM-Imputation (Gautam & Ravi, 2014). It is concluded that the proposed methods achieved better imputation in most of the datasets as evidenced by the Wilcoxon signed rank test.

Traffic chaos, stress, congestion, environmental pollution, as well as the social problems resulting from the uncoordinated shopping trips of private citizens and companies and online deliveries represent key problems of the modern cities. In our opinion, their solving requires an intelligent coordination of the end-consumer supply-chain-related actions and movements, which should be based on mutual visibility, self-organization, and cooperation of the involved actors. This chapter presents and comments from a sustainability perspective several IT concepts that can optimize the modern ECM (end-consumer movements) related logistics. They rely on the intelligent coordination of end-consumers demands (ranging from short-term to long-term), the resulting reduction of supply-chain-related traffic, and the networking of social resources involved in such city supply chains. The focus is placed on the creation of multidimensional synergies among the involved actors on all scales and the support of the participative supply-chain networks, which are driven by end-users.

Over 25 different types of collagen have been identified, but type I collagen is the most abundant fibril forming collagen and contributes to the structural performance numerous connective tissues including ligaments, tendons and cornea [1]. In addition to collagen self-assembly, collagen degradation is an important step in the development, remodeling, homeostasis and pathology of load-bearing ECM. Matrix Metalloproteinase (MMP) types I and VIII, bacterial collagenase and cathepsin are the best known enzymes capab

Résumé :
Vascular grafts are currently used to treat cardiovascular diseases such as arthrosclerosis by bypass surgery and as vascular access in hemodialysis [1]. There are a number of types of grafts including autologous vessels (such saphenous vein), synthetic grafts (such as expanded polytetrafluoroethylene) and tissue engineered blood vessels. Currently synthetic grafts are most commonly used as blood vessel replacements and there are a number of problems associated with them. One main impediment is that these grafts are not suitable for small-diameter (less than 6mm) vessel replacement [1, 2], due

Résumé :
Poor nutritional supply has been a major concern for the health of intervertebral disc (IVD) since the IVD is the largest avascular tissue in the human body. The transport of vital nutrients to cells relies on diffusion and convection through the extracellular matrix (ECM) in the IVD. Transport and metabolism of nutrients (e.g., oxygen and glucose) within the IVD depend on many factors, including the material properties of ECM (e.g., permeability, elastic modulus, and solute diffusivity), cellular metabolic rates, nutritional supply at the edge of the IVD, and mechanical loading [1–6].
