Résumé :
Equipment logistics, maintenance, and repair are important aspects of construction equipment management. A well-managed equipment fleet helps reduce downtime, as well as total maintenance and repair costs. With quickly growing fleets of equipment, large contractors tend to divert the maintenance and repair of equipment from equipment managers to project managers. As a result, the equipment managers shift their attention from operational-level decision-making to corporate-level strategic decision-making regarding equipment management, which is often a challenging job with the current equipment management system. This paper presents an equipment data warehouse and a prototype decision support system (DSS). The proposed equipment data warehouse enables equipment managers to visually analyze the equipment fleet data from different perspectives and at various level of details. The data-warehouse-based DSS facilitates high-level, fact-based decision-making regarding equipment logistics, supplies, maintenance, repair, and replacement and has higher levels of performance and flexibility than the current equipment management system.Key words: data warehouse, decision support system, equipment management, multidimensional modeling.

Résumé :
AbstractComputer systems supporting the management of machines operation and maintenance in companies have been successfully applied in many branches of industry. Over the last few years these systems have been considerably transformed. It also seems that using them for operating mining machines in hard coal mines is inevitable, as maintenance generates high production costs. If implemented, the systems will allow for optimization of stocks, spare parts and materials, supplies, outsourced services as well as maintenance-repair works. Application of a system supporting the management of mining machines/equipment will also enable a better, more effective use of employees. As a result of these actions, the time needed for preparations and repair will be shortened, which will translate directly into the economic effects of mines.

Résumé :
Improving hospital safety is challenging in resource-poor countries. Before a new hospital opened in Malawi, we simulated a patient’s pathway from admission to discharge, through which we identified associated administrative and clinical activities. Newly recruited hospital personnel enacted the simulation: admission procedures; preoperative clinical assessment; patient preparation for theatre and surgery; safety checks of surgical and anaesthetic equipment; adherence to aseptic technique; postoperative care; and hospital discharge. Hospital personnel were familiar with their clinical and administrative roles. Some essential equipment required repair/recalibration. Additional supplies of oxygen, nitrous oxide and anaesthetic drugs were needed. Policies requiring clarification, forms requiring amendment and general maintenance tasks for completion were identified. The simulation exercise identified areas for safety improvement and thus could be replicated to promote hospital safety elsewhere.

Résumé :
Energy performance and equipment evaluation results are presented for the grid-connected Coolidge solar thermal-electric power plant. Performance was determined for each of the major subsystems—line-focus collector array, thermal energy storage and 200 kW, organic Rankine cycle engine and generator. Day-long collector array efficiency was about 32, 26, and 9 percent in June, September, and December, respectively. Energy conversion efficiency was about 20 percent; electrical parasitics reduced this by 12 percent. Operation and maintenance required about 90 h/mo, only 20 percent requiring special skills or training. Operating supplies and repair services cost about $6300 per year. Major equipment problem catagories were fluid leakage and electric motor and electronic component failures. The presented operating data provide a basis for improved design and analysis.

Résumé :
On the example of chain conveyors, the article shows the relationship between the change in the operation process of constructive, energy and other parameters of a machine and reliability parameters. The authors have presented the analysis of methodological approach that is based on wear and damage of machine parts with increase in the duration of their operation and the impact of these changes on the performance of a machine. On the example of heavy-duty transporters, the paper presents the method which shows that at a constant load of conveyor (Q и W-const ) with increase in the duration of its operation, the power required to drive it will also increase. According to this parameter, one can judge about the current status of power components of a conveyor, and it is also possible to calculate the reliability (longevity, failure-free performance, etc.). If you use a chain with links strengthened by innovative technologies (e.g., wear-resistant coatings and modification of surface layers by diffusion saturation, etc.) longetivity increases. The energy supplied to the machine is spent on useful work and overcoming friction forces and other resistance forces arising in the machine elements. As you increase the duration of operation, the condition of machine parts changes (due to wear, corrosion, fatigue and other destructive processes). These changes mainly cause more energy consumption for overcoming them. Thus, when having a constant load of conveyor (Q и W-const ) with increase in the duration of its operation the power required to drive it will increase too. For this parameter which is easily measured by appropriate instruments, it is possible to judge the current status of the power components of a conveyor, and calculate the reliability (longetivity, failure-free performance, etc.)., etc.). One of the important indicators of reliability of complex machinery is maintainability. Machines parts are restored in parallel in specialized shops or businesses, and the repair time does not overlap with the downtime of the whole machine to be repaired. Therefore, maintainability in such cases can be more properly evaluated using such an indicator as the complexity of maintenance and repair. The article shows the possibility of evaluating machine reliability according to the complexity of works, their maintenance and repair. The obtained dependences established for evaluation of reliability of machines on the basis of complex criteria can be used at the design stage, when calculations of the output parameters can be carried out instead of costly full-scale or bench testings.

Résumé :
Slips, trips, and falls (STF) contribute significantly to nonfatal incidents at surface mines. Although fall fatalities and STF from mobile equipment have been investigated, nonfatal incidents and STF hazards encountered at mines are not well documented. This paper aims to identify occupations and activities associated with nonfatal STF incidents at surface stone, sand, and gravel mines, document through a systematic observation the STF hazards encountered, and corroborate the findings of the hazard assessment using an analysis of nonfatal injury narratives reported in the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) injury database. Mobile equipment operators, laborers/utility men, and mechanics were most often involved in nonfatal STF incidents. Walking/running, getting on/off equipment, machine maintenance and repair, and handling supplies and materials accounted for over 80% of the activities being performed at the time of the incident. Solid debris, in the form of rocks and stones on unpaved surfaces and material accumulation on paved surfaces, and liquid contaminants, primarily pooled water, were common hazards identified during the systematic observation. Stair tread issues and transitions to and from ladders were also identified as hazards. These findings were in line with injury data where rocks, ice/snow, uneven ground, water, hoses, mud, and loose/unstable material were the most common contaminants and hazards encountered at the time of the incident. In addition, several recommendations are provided to help eliminate or remediate the identified hazards.

Résumé :
To date, the introduction of new methods in the telecommunication service and the quality changes in this area of the service require such improvements in the legal order. These aspects are also reflected in the legal regulation of the telecommunication service. The provision of telecommunication involves a complex set of actions of the participants of this legal relationship, such as the acquisition of technical means, the use of technical means and in this connection the installation of this or that material, their maintenance, repair of these devices in case of necessity. In this sense, the relations of telecommunication services include the impersonation of certain signs of the energy supply contract. First of all, in the power supply contract, the power supply organization also supplies energy to the subscriber through the connected network. The telecommunication service also requires the presence of an adjoining network. Therefore, subscriber is connected directly with the service provider through telephone wires and on the basis of the specified number, a telephone connection service is provided to him. Meanwhile, a contract is concluded with a person who has certain equipment in the energy supply contract. This is exactly the case in the contract for the provision of telecommunication services.

Résumé :
To obtain quality continuously casted billets, electromagnetic stirring (EMS) of melt is used. Most of the industrial CCM operating in Russia are equipped by EMS systems, supplied by foreign companies. EMS stators of foreign production are manufactured as a rule in nonseparable bodies and after their failures the systems must undergo expensive repair abroad at the manufacturers. At VNIIMETMASH the EMS systems of external design were created, in which this problem was solved. The version ЭМПУ 880 (EMPU 880) is completely demountable, that provides conditions for its maintenance and repair under conditions of electric shop of a plant without attraction of expensive materials and equipment. All the materials are domestic made and available. The developed facility comprises 3-phases stator submerged into water, placed in a demountable body of a corrosionresistant steel. The airproofing the body accomplished by a heat-resistant resin. Water supply into the internal area of the body and taking it away is made by end nipples. The terminal unit is arranged in the body having removable covers to connect the power mains. The output ends of the three phases are airtight in the sealing blocks under pressure of 10–12 atm. The designed EMS facility is placed at arranged locations. The peculiarities of the EMS facility design allow to increase up to 585 mm the distance to the plain of maximum rotating forces of the meniscus in the mold. Taking into account that the total energy in the active zone flow decreased and the distance to the meniscus increases, quieter meniscus can be expected at more intensive regimes of the stirring. This circumstance allow improving considerably the quality of the continuously casted billet.

Résumé :
The service system for managing the life cycle of locomotives faces the problem of obtaining objective information about the technical condition of the locomotive and its operation. Designers of equipment and the locomotive as a whole, locomotive-building plants, service companies, locomotive repair plants and the operating organization have their own information systems that are not connected to each other. It is proposed to create a cross-platform management system for the locomotive life cycle database with the collection of information from all information systems at all stages of the locomotive life cycle with the appropriate management organization, which is described in the article. Information about the structure of the locomotive equipment, possible suppliers and maintenance regulations (MRO) is formed at the design stage. Information on the numbers and suppliers of installed equipment and test results is generated at the stage of locomotive manufacturing. In operation, the mileage of the locomotive, the ton-kilometer work, and, if possible, the electricity consumption are recorded. The MRO system registers the types and volumes of work, their duration and cost, and the spare parts and materials used. Equipment replacement is also registered. Separately, the reasons for failures and super-cycle work are analyzed. As a result, the database is formed for multi-factor analysis of the reasons for the low reliability of locomotives, the high cost of the life cycle. Corrective measures are being developed.

The growth of volume of tunneling, power supplied per job, and consumption of fuel and energy resources makes it necessary to increase energy performance of production processes with reducing energy losses. Tunneling conditions are determined by a combination of mutually influencing factors (geological, technological and organizational), and assessing their impact on tunneling energy performance requires a deep detailed study. For criterion assessment of tunneling performance, indicators of energy consumption, performance, and quality of tunneling performed by shift crews, allowing to objectively assess their work, were proposed. Indicators of process and specific power consumption in the process of tunneling vary over a wide range, therefore, to ensure smooth equipment operation, shift crews must adhere to the recommended indicators that determine the optimum rates of tunneling and enables adherence to permissible operation modes. Statistical models of energy performance indicators of heading sets of equipment operation were investigated using the example of the Severnaya coal mine. Indicators of energy consumption, energy performance, and tunneling (on shift basis) were proposed. Distribution laws have been determined for the main indicators characterizing tunneling energy performance. Recommendations have been developed to ensure sustainable operation of heading sets of equipment throughout the entire period of tunneling. Résumé :
In the late 1990s thyssenkrupp Transrapid GmbH successfully qualified the Maglev Vehicle TR08 and obtained the type approval certificate. Based on that design, in 2001-2003 three five-car vehicles for the first commercial high speed Maglev Line in Shanghai have been manufactured and set into operation. The VIP-Run took place over 15 years ago and the commercial operation has been running for almost 15 years at great availability. The Transrapid system concept of small autonomous redundant electronics based modules facilitates significantly smooth maintenance - diagnosis, testing and system inspection. Thanks to intelligent diagnostics, the use of easily interchangeable plug-in units, the dimensioning of the spare parts inventory according to the expected failure rates and the replenishment lead time, the maintenance efforts are still within the forecast range at the beginning of the project. Furthermore, the maintenance concept is essentially unchanged since the beginning. There are no special materials that are subject to a potential shortage or price leap, but all according to normal industrial base. Thanks to the low level of stress to components on board, most electrical and electronic units are still on-board as original equipment, which are 15 years old and at no end of life is visible. But in case of repair or replacement, the challenge is the adaptation to the volatile market of electronic components. This includes the necessary lead-time for adaptive development and qualification, which has to be considered. On the side of the vehicle supplier, a small smart team of electronics experts is managing obsolescence and compensates discontinuation. The paper tells how it works and appreciates trustful cooperation of the supplier in Europe with the operator in China.

A stochastic model is developed to describe the operation in time of the following maintained system setting. A piece of equipment is put in operation at time 0. Each time it fails, a maintenance action is taken which, with probability p(t), is a complete repair or, with probability q(t)=1– p(t), is a minimal repair, where t is the age of the equipment in use at the failure time. It is assumed that complete repair restores the equipment to its good as new condition, that minimal repair restores the equipment to its condition just prior to failure and that both maintenance actions take negligible time.If the equipment's life distribution F is a continuous function, the successive complete repair times are shown to be a renewal process with interarrival distribution for t ≧ 0. Résumé :
Mean time to failure of modern machinery and equipment, their individual parts and components can be calculated over the years. Methods for determining the optimal frequency of maintenance and repair, based on the collection and processing of information about the reliability of industrial facilities, during their testing in laboratories and at special sites, as well as through long, operational tests require considerable time and become expensive. The purpose of this work is to develop methods for processing information about the reliability of equipment in automated systems for maintenance and repair, which will reduce the time to collect information on equipment failures and improve the cost-effectiveness of maintenance and repair. Small, multiple-censored right-side samples of equipment operating time for failure are formed as a result of failure data collection in an automated system for equipment maintenance and repair. Calculation of reliability indicators for such samples is performed using the maximum likelihood estimation method. The article presents experimental studies of the accuracy of the maximum likelihood estimates of the parameter of the exponential distribution law for small, multiple right-censored samples. The studies were carried out by computer modeling of censored samples, similar to samples that are formed when monitoring equipment during operation. Methods of simulation modeling of random processes on a computer and methods of regression analysis were used. Analysis show that most of the maximum likelihood estimates obtained from small, multiple-censored right-side samples have significant deviations from the true values. A technique for improving the accuracy of maximum likelihood estimates is proposed. The scientific novelty is regression models are constructed that establish the relationship between the deviation of the maximum likelihood estimate from the true value and the parameters characterizing the sample structure. These models calculate and introduce corrections to maximum likelihood estimates. The use of the developed regression models will reduce the time to collect information about the reliability of the equipment, while maintaining the reliability of the results.

Résumé :
Maintenance and repair of livestock machinery and equipment is carried out as a rule by specialized repair and service enterprises on the basis of service contracts in accordance with the procedure established by law. However, with the renewal of the park’s farms with machines and equipment with automated and computerized process control, as well as the reconstruction of dairy farms and complexes, it became necessary to have a production base and highly qualified specialists for the maintenance of equipment. The most important and key provisions of the improved methodology of planning and accounting of work in the technical service of animal husbandry with the use of a number of standards are given, some features of accounting and planning of these types of work have been noted. The concepts of “repair unit” and “category of complexity of technical service” have been defined. The general provisions of the methodology for calculating costs and determining the cost of carrying out maintenance and repair of livestock equipment have been considered. On the base of calculations, the average total cost standards for carrying out maintenance and repair of livestock equipment have been established. These standards greatly simplify the planning of costs during the operation of equipment, and also allow us to determine the cost of maintenance and repair at different stages of the creation of new machines.

Résumé :
Currently, in order to ensure the required fault-proof level of technological processes in agricultural production, the following strategies among the main ones: afterfailure, planned systematic and a mixed electrical equipment maintenance and repair strategy. The pervasion of information technology in this segment was not widespread. Application of information technologies in conjunction with implementation of risk-oriented strategy is one of the promising directions of electrical equipment maintenance optimization, yet requires adaptation to sectoral characteristics of agricultural production. The article describes the problem of determining the optimal conditions for adjusting the frequency of maintenance and repair of electrical equipment on the basis of risk-oriented approach. To solve this problem, the equation of annual costs for maintenance and repair of electrical equipment was drawn up taking into account the parameter of its failure risk. The relationship between the change of relative risk and the service frequency was established; based on it, the ranges of frequency adjustment of maintenance and ongoing repair were determined.

Résumé :
Traditionally, gas turbine power plant preventive maintenance schedules are set with constant intervals based on recommendations from the equipment suppliers. Preventive maintenance is based on fleet-wide experience as a guideline as long as individual unit experience is not available. In reality, the operating conditions for each gas turbine may vary from site to site and from unit to unit. Furthermore, the gas turbine is a repairable deteriorating system, and preventive maintenance usually restores only part of its performance. This suggests a gas turbine needs more frequent inspection and maintenance as it ages. A unit-specific sequential preventive maintenance approach is therefore needed for gas turbine power plant preventive maintenance scheduling. Traditionally, the optimization criteria for preventive maintenance scheduling is usually cost based. However, in the deregulated electric power market, a profit-based optimization approach is expected to be more effective than the cost-based approach. In such an approach, power plant performance, reliability, and the market dynamics are considered in a joint fashion. In this paper, a novel idea that economic factors drive maintenance frequency and expense to more frequent repairs and greater expense as equipment ages is introduced, and a profit-based unit-specific sequential preventive maintenance scheduling methodology is developed. To demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach, a conceptual level study is performed using a base load combined cycle power plant with a single gas turbine unit.

Résumé :
The classification of failures and damages of the linear part and its separate elements is carried out, variants of technology of carrying out of preventive and repair-restoration works and modular-technological structure of repair and maintenance units are formulated. Particular attention is paid to improving the efficiency of the operation of a separate repair and maintenance unit during maintenance and repair with a known layout scheme and a certain mode of control and restoration works by choosing the optimal technology of work and rational equipment of units and crews leaving for the route. On the basis of the analysis of the technology of work execution it is shown that only a small part of the repair and maintenance measures requires the use of powerful machinery and equipment, which include the first level of priority work on the replacement of gas pipeline sections, work, damage elimination, work on elimination of significant pipeline displacements, work for restoration of soil collapse of the main gas pipeline. In addition, each type of work on the objects of the linear part requires the use of the same vehicles. The type and number of vehicles depend on the particular operating conditions, as well as on the possibility and feasibility of purchasing and operating a particular type of equipment. The method of estimation of indexes of maintenance of linear part of main gas pipelines and efficiency of functioning of repair and maintenance units during maintenance and repair is developed.

Résumé :
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to identify key tasks, tools, and equipment associated with maintenance and repair injuries at US mines and to provide some mitigation strategies to reduce these types of injuries. Design/methodology/approach – This study analyzed incidents resulting in injuries reported to the US Mine Safety and Health Administration from 2002 to 2011. Incident reports were limited to those occurring at mining plants, shops, yards, and aboveground locations. Incident reports were analyzed to determine which activities contributed to injuries and were due to machine maintenance and repair, non-powered hand tools, and powered hand tools. An in-depth analysis of the root causes of these injuries was then performed. Findings – Maintenance and repair in mining is associated with a significant number of hand and finger injuries with a range of severities and averaging over 20 amputated fingers, 180 fractured hands and fingers, and 455 hand and finger lacerations per year. Many of these injuries are caused by hands being struck by or caught in tools and equipment. Back and shoulder strains are found to be associated with the most days lost from work and are mostly attributed to materials handling. Practical implications – Occupational injuries and fatalities still occur with high incidences in the mining sector. The mission of the Office of Mine Safety and Health Research (OMSHR; part of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, NIOSH) is to “eliminate mining fatalities, injuries, and illnesses through research and prevention.” As part of this work, OMSHR acquires surveillance data from MSHA to quantify the types and sources of injuries at US mining facilities. The authors evaluated maintenance- and repair-related injuries at US mining sites (excluding underground coal mines). Results of this study suggest a need for improved design of machine guarding, improved hand protection through gloves and equipment design/redesign, and manual materials handling solutions. Originality/value – The findings indicate that maintenance and repair in mining include occupational risks that may be managed through modifications to machines, proper usage of hand tools and hand protection, and improved manual materials handling processes.

Résumé :
Deterioration and aging of the technical fleet of thermal power facilities lead to an unpredictable shutdowns of power equipment. Therefore, it is necessary to create a special approach in maintenance and repair programs, taking into account the possibility of predicting the moment of onset of the defect, its development, as well as the time of possible equipment failure. The equipment maintenance system used at the enterprises is based on the collection of retrospective data on defects and failures on the main and auxiliary equipment of the TPP and summarizing statistics on identical or similar equipment samples. Analysis of domestic and foreign methods of maintenance and organization of repair, as well as possibility of their application in modern power engineering is given. In order to create an efficient production asset management system, which addresses the problem of finding a balance between the potential risk of losses associated with both the operation of equipment and the cost of correcting defects, new class systems are now used in the software market, which carry out equipment maintenance based on the forecast. In order to optimize the equipment maintenance system and ensure uninterrupted and reliable operation of the equipment at minimum operating costs, as well as to reduce equipment downtime, unscheduled and emergency operations, it is advisable to use a modern approach to manage both reliability and risk, as well as the cost of asset ownership. This will enable to control the economic efficiency of the use of production assets. The necessity of creation of an algorithm of implementation of repair programs of power equipment base on technical condition for its use in digital power systems is shown. An algorithm is proposed for implementing the repair program of power units of electric power plants, including steam boilers and turbines of thermal power plants, differing by taking into account the technical condition of power equipment, which allows recognizing the defect that has appeared, determining the cause of its occurrence, its evolution and the duration of possible equipment failure. In the developed repair maintenance algorithm, it is proposed to make a transition from statistical empirical assessments of the technical condition of the equipment to objective estimates obtained on the basis of automated technical diagnostics systems and predictive analysis of situations.

Résumé :
For most of the remote maintenance activities of equipment in a hot cell, replacing breakdown modules is preferred over in situ repair because of insufficient space in the cell and the limited operability of remote handling tools. In such cases, the maintenance operation can be decomposed into transport of the new modules to the failed equipment, replacement of the broken modules with new ones, and then transport of the broken parts to the reserved space for further repair or disposal. In this respect, transfer is the most basic operation during remote maintenance, which is also true for the maintenance of pyroprocessing equipment. Hence, this paper proposes a maintenance automation framework for automated pyroprocessing equipment from the standpoint of module transfer. For the maintenance automation framework, maintenance-related functions and events are defined, and they are integrated with the pyroprocess automation framework. The proposed framework is verified by a case study on the maintenance of a large module through a hardware-in-the-loop simulation.

The method of calculating costs (expenses) for maintenance and repair of livestock equipment has its own features of accounting and planning of work. The purpose of this work was to use a methodology for determining and rationing total costs for technical service of livestock equipment. The most important main points of the improved methodology for determining the cost of maintenance and repair of livestock equipment with the use of a number of standards are considered, and the features of accounting and planning for this type of work (technical service of livestock equipment) have been considered. The general provisions of the methodology for calculating the basic salary depending on the choice of the form of payment by the service for maintenance and repair of livestock equipment have been given. To simplify these calculations the rationale for establishing a single common factor calculation on the basic salary of the workers while performing diff erent types of work experts of farms (calculation of additional wages, deductions on social insurance and overhead charges from the basic salary), etc. The presented method signifi cantly simplifi es the task of determining the cost of maintenance and repair of livestock equipment when planning work and distributing the volume of work between service enterprises and agricultural producers, taking into account the features of accounting and planning all types of technical service of livestock equipment.

Résumé :
The organization of production and the model of a metrological maintenance system for measuring equipment at industrial enterprises with complex technological processes are considered. The organization of the metrological maintenance system for measuring equipment can be considered as providing a system of a general system for managing the quality of products of the production process. The system of metrological maintenance aimed at identifying defects in finished products and testing the quality of the product during its manufacture. The system of metrological maintenance of measuring equipment is considered as a closed system, that is, all verification and repair work is performed inside the enterprise. The parameters of the system are the period of repetition of the verification work; time of the check; recovery time in repair; probability of erroneous diagnosis; probability of skipping a latent failure during a check; probability of return from repair with hidden failure. Reliability of measuring equipment can be divided into technical and metrological reliability. When carrying out the studies, the availability factor and the reliability factor were used to characterize the technical reliability of measuring equipment. Metrological reliability was determined by the normalized index (the ratio of the mean time to repair to the average operating time for a clear failure). When performing calculations, the values of the probability of diagnostic errors are determined when testing the means of measuring equipment and the probability of hidden failures after repair. It is determined that the normalized metrological reliability index will increase with the probability of erroneous fault diagnosis and with the reduction of availability and reliability. With the increase in the probability of hidden failures after repair, the availability and reliability coefficients increase and the normalized metrological reliability index decreases. The obtained results are recommended for practical use in enterprises where complex products are manufactured, in particular, in the production of aerospace equipment.

Résumé :
Purpose. To develop the method for increasing the efficiency of the equipment’s maintenance and repair system, ensuring necessary level of operational reliability of the equipment, safety and reliability of the electric equipment with minimal expenses on operation. Relevance. Aging of the power equipment in railway power supply systems sharply raised a need for assessment of its states and degree of risk for operation outside rated service life. In critical conditions of technological processes and operational modes of the railways it is necessary to increase the equipment’s operational reliability. The scheduled maintenance and repair system whose main technical and economic criterion is the minimum of equipment’s downtimes on the basis of a rigid regulation of repair cycles, in the conditions of market regulations in the field of repair in many cases does not provide the optimal decisions due to insufficient financing. The solution of this problem is possible by improvement of the maintenance and repair system. Under these conditions the main direction for supporting the operational reliability of power electric equipment on TS is a development of the modern methods based on individual supervision over real changes of technical condition of power equipment. Scientific novelty. In this article the authors proposed an integrated approach, on the basis of which can be developed the effective maintenance and repair system for traction power supply systems. Proposed approach allowed to react quickly to changes of service conditions on traction substations, to control the technical condition of power electric equipment under the conditions of uncertainty, to establish interrelation between quality of service and operational reliability of the equipment, to choose a service strategy on traction substations. Practical importance. The validity of the developed method was confirmed by the results of calculations and practically by choosing the optimal maintenance's option for transformer TDTN-25000/150-70 U1 (ТДТН-25000/150-70 У1) on traction power supply substation.

Résumé :
Main goal of Road Network Management System is to ensure safety and continuity of road traffic on road network with low intensity and lower technical requirements. This is achieved with pavement management system (main component of road network management system). Most countries developed custom Pavement management systems (PMS) based on deterministic or probabilistic approach. Local road administrators of low level road networks often lack the software equipment such as HDM-4, RoSy, Exor, etc. These and similar PMS Most PMS, however effective, are often cumbersome, demanding in regard to energy, know-how and software equipment. The majority of local road administrators of rural road networks thus resort to non-effective reactive maintenance strategies. This article describes an easy to use method, based on predetermined maintenance repair & rehabilitation standards. Secondly, a simple method, based on road user cost, is introduced that administrator can use to prepare a list of road section eligible for repair according to their repair priority.
