n the modern economy of Ukraine, the agricultural sector holds significant importance. Farms play a crucial role in ensuring the country's food security, developing rural areas, and creating employ-ment opportunities. The stable development of farms is supported by externaland internal factors, with one key element being sufficient equity capital.Authorized capital serves as the foundation of the equity capital of farms, contributing to their financial stability and effective management. Intensive development of small businesses in rural areas is one of the priority directions of state policy in the field of sustainable development of the agrarian economy and rural areas. At the same time, the level of professional legal awareness and entrepreneurial thinking among farmers largely determines the effectiveness of small agricultural formations. This level depends on many factors, including the availability of knowledge of taxation issues, the ability to competently maintain accounting records, observing the requirement of rationality, the ability to navigate the regulations gove

AbstractThe number of people living in rural areas of low and middle-income countries is projected to increase in the coming decades. It is in the rural areas of these countries where a large majority of the world’s extreme poor reside. The livelihoods of two to three billion rural people depend on small farms. These small farms are responsible for the production and supply of a large portion of the calories feeding low- and middle-income countries. Small farms are also preservers of crops and associated biodiversity and with the right incentives can contribute to land stewardship. Small farms

This strategy, however, has resulted in design recommendations that are impractical or limited in scope because WEC farms are complex systems that exhibit strong coupling among geometry, control, and layout domains. Résumé :
American farms represent a diverse set of business operations and farm operators. This annual report describes characteristics of U.S. farms and ranches with the most recent data from the Agricultural Resource Management Survey (ARMS), an annual survey conducted by USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) and USDA, Economic Research Service (ERS). Statistics are presented using a farm classification developed by USDA, ERS to categorize farms into groups with some common characteristics. The classifications used are mainly based on each farm's annual revenue, the main occupation of

Résumé :
Nonfamily farms (where no producer, household, or extended family owns at least 50 percent of the operation) constitute about 2 percent of total U.S. farms from 2018 to 2022. This report explores nonfamily farms and the households of their principal producers by farm size combining data collected from the annual Agricultural Resource Management Survey from 2018 to 2022. Statistics for nonfamily farms are compared with equivalently sized family farms. Findings show that 70 percent of all nonfamily farms were considered small, with less than $350,000 in gross cash farm income. Nonfamily farms ac

Résumé :
The cow-calf segment of the U.S. beef industry is diverse in farm size, structure, and location, with farms located in every State and ranging from very small to very large. Modest structural change has occurred in this segment over the past two decades, resulting in moderately fewer farms that produce more animals and are more specialized in cow-calf production. This report compares cow-calf farms by region, farm size, phases of beef production that are present on the farm, and farm typology using the cow-calf version of the 2018 USDA Agricultural Resource Management Survey. The finding that smaller farms are more productive than larger farms has long been documented. At present, evidence in the Sub-Saharan African (SSA) region has been largely limited to data from farms operating 5ha and below. Examining changes in farm size distributions and their relationship with agricultural productivity is important not only for agricultural economists and development researchers but also for evidence-based policymaking which goes beyond the current smallholder-led strategies for development in the region. This study examined the dynamics of farm operations between small-sca

Résumé :
Support targeted to the small Dehqan farms would increase national agricultural productivity, supporting livelihoods in rural areas. Seventy percent of Uzbekistan’s agricultural output comes from the Dehqan farms that represent 95 percent of all farms and operate only one-fifth of all farmland. Dehqan farms have unrestricted production and marketing choices, stronger tenure security, and higher crop productivity compared with large farms. Dehqan farms, however, experience global yield gaps, have difficulty entering modern markets and own little incomes. Uzbekistan’s agriculture sector needs to
