Résumé :
Background: Fibrous epulis was the most frequent non-plaque-induced gingival lesions categories from biopsied cases included hyperplastic lesions, malignancies and benign neoplasms. Because the lesion is nonspecific and histology is the foundation of a more precise diagnosis, dentists may have difficulty identifying fibrous epulis from other disorders. Furthermore, the recurrence rate is significant, thus long-term follow-up is required for fibrous epulis after therapy. Purpose: to report the therapy of fibrous epulis and the follow up after eight months. Case: A 30-year-old nonsmoker healthy

Résumé :
Introduction. Epulis is a change in gingival tissue that occurs under the influence of chronic irritation. Histologically, there are several different types of epulis. Fibrous epulis is benign tumor of gingiva that most often occurs in interdental papilla area as a result of local irritation (inadequate restorative fillings, carious teeth, subgingival deposits or the combination of them). The aim of this paper is to present a clinical case of fibrous epulis. Case report. A 25-year-old girl reported to the Specialist Center for Dentistry in Foca. Clinical examination revealed a gingival tissue

Résumé :
Peripheral ossifying fibroma (POF) is a reactive process of the gingiva that develops due to irritation or minor trauma. Females are more affected than males suggesting a hormonal influence. This case report describes a case of peripheral ossifying fibroma in a 48-year-old male patient in 33, 34 regions in contrast to its common occurrence in young females. Histopathological examination is necessary to confirm the diagnosis. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice to prevent recurrence. One year follow up of the case showed no signs of recurrence. Gingival overgrowth is a common feature o

Objective: To conduct a clinical and histopathological study of Epulis at Bhittai medical and Dental College, Mirpurkhas. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out at the Bhittai medical and Dental College Mirpurkhas. Patients clinically diagnosed with gingival outgrowth, across all age groups and both genders, were included. A provisional diagnosis of epulis was made based on clinical examination. After taking a careful history, relevant clinical features were recorded, and a biopsy procedure was performed using infiltration near the lesion or regional nerve block techn

Résumé :
Background: Peripheral ossifying fibroma is a rejuvenation of the reactive gingiva, usually occurring in the anterior maxillary gingiva. The condition is often clinically ambiguous when diagnosed on the basis of gingival hyperplastic lesions such as focal fibrous hyperplasia, peripheral giant cell granuloma, peripheral fibroma and pyogenic granuloma because peripheral ossifying fibroma has a tendency to recur with a ratio of around 20%. The literature on the subject predominantly classifies peripheral osifying fibroma as an epulis type, but it has also been identified as a peripheral mesenchym

Relevance. Nowadays an important problem in dentistry is the early diagnosis and the treatment of tumors and tumor-like lesions. One of the most frequent lesions of the orofacial region, and particularly of the periodontium, is a non-tumor lesion called epulis. Some tumors and tumor-like lesions may be both clinically and histologically similar, hence the diagnosis and the differential diagnosis of the epulis is still complicated and need to pay attention. Moreover, every type of epulis has particular histological features that make a clinician use a specific treatment in each clinical case. T

Résumé :
The Fibrous epulis, is a tumour like lesion arising from the gingiva, periosteum or periodontal ligament and is commonly involving the interdental papilla. Its etiology is attributed to a reactive mechanism in response to chronic irritation or tissue injury which stimulates excessive tissue response. They are usually asymptomatic and have a very slow rate of growth. The recurrence rate is high and they are commonly treated by a combination of surgical excision, thorough curettage and oral prophylaxis. We report a case of a Giant lobular fibrous epulis in a 62 year old female which was located

Résumé :
Fibrous epulis or peripheral ossifying fibroma is a reactive non-neoplastic condition that affects the gingiva as a result of chronic irritation. A case of a 44 year old female is presented in this study with a gingival swelling related to the maxillary central incisors. The Patient reported a history of trauma ten years ago and a recent root canal treatment of tooth 21, followed by referral to a specialist with a misdiagnosis for a combined periodontic-endodontic lesion affecting the maxillary central incisors. Excisional biopsy of the lesion revealed a diagnosis of ulcerated fibrous epulis w
