Recently, there has been renewed interest in estimating total arterial compliance. Because it cannot be measured directly, a lumped model is usually applied to derive compliance from aortic pressure and flow. The archetypical model, the classical two-element windkessel, assumes 1) system linearity and 2) infinite pulse wave velocity. To generalize this model, investigators have added more elements and have incorporated nonlinearities. A different approach is taken here. It is assumed that the arterial system 1) is linear and 2) has finite pulse wave velocity. In doing so, the windkessel is generalized by describing compliance as a complex function of frequency that relates input pressure to volume stored. By applying transmission theory, this relationship is shown to be a function of heart rate, peripheral resistance, and pulse wave reflection. Because this pressure-volume relationship is generally not equal to total arterial compliance, it is termed “apparent compliance.” This new concept forms the natural counterpart to the established concept of apparent pulse wave velocity.

Résumé :

In order to expand the range of motion performance of the 3-PSS-compliant parallel micro-motion platform, a variable inclination angle of the mechanism’s guide rails was introduced to construct a category of generalized 3-PSS compliant parallel micro-motion platforms with distinct configurations (exhibiting different motion performances) but identical motion patterns (three translational degrees of freedom). The compliance and kinetostatics of such micro-motion platform are modeled and analyzed. Firstly, the compliance model is established based on the coordinate transformation method. Then, simplifying the micro-motion platform into a spring system, the kinetostatic model in terms of input force–output displacement is established based on the compliance model using the compliance matrix method. For practical application considerations, the kinetostatic model in terms of input displacement–output displacement is further derived based on the input force–output displacement model. Then, the correctness of the established compliance model and kinetostatic model is successively verified through finite element simulation. Finally, using two specified motion trajectories (spatial spiral trajectory and planar circular trajectory) as examples, an analysis is conducted on the influence of guide rail inclination angle variations on the kinetostatic performance of the micro-motion platform. This analysis serves as guidance for the rational design of such micro-motion platforms.

Background: During the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, we could observe different attitudes towards restrictive bans and orders. Aim: The research aimed to examine the potential psychological factors, such as generalized anxiety, fear of COVID-19 or social approval, related to the approach to mandatory face covering in public spaces. Methods: The web-assisted interviews survey was used among 202 participants, which included socio-demographical data, approach to face covering, the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale, the COVID-19 Anxiety Scale, and The Questionnaire of Social Approval. Result: The data showed a statistically significant correlation between compliance to the rule of face and nose covering vs. anxiety and compliance to the rule of face and nose covering vs. generalized anxiety. The results indicate differences between vaccinated and non-vaccinated people in the anxiety of COVID-19, generalized anxiety, and compliance with the rule of face and nose covering. Conclusions: People vaccinated has a higher level of anxiety and more often compliance with the rule of face covering. It is worth noting that an overly pronounced fear of COVID-19 could be a risk factor for mental health. More research about coping with anxiety in the group of vaccinated people is recommended.

This paper presents a new class of flexure hinges, namely, conic-V-shaped flexure hinges (CFHs), which can be used as a generalized model for flexure hinges with profiles such as parabolic-V-shape, elliptical-V-shape, and hyperbolic-V-shape. Compliance and precision equations for the CFHs were derived as a set of nonlinear equations using Castigliano’s second theorem. The parameters of the nonlinear equations inputted to the compliance and precision matrices were based on the generalized equations used for conic curves in polar coordinates. Furthermore, the compliance equations were verified by means of finite element analysis and experiments. The errors in the finite element and experimental results were within 10% and 8% compared to the analytical results, respectively. Finally, the effects of dimensional parameters on the analytical model could be effectively analyzed by numerical simulations and comparisons.

Building design review is the procedure of checking a design against codes and standard provisions to satisfy the accuracy of the design and identify non-compliances before construction begins. The current approaches for conducting the design review process in an automatic or semi-automatic manner are either based on proprietary, domain-specific or hard-coded rule-based mechanisms. These methods may be effective in their specific applications, but they have the downsides of being costly to maintain, inflexible to modify, and lack a generalized framework of rules and regulations modeling that can adapt to various engineering design realms, and thus don’t support a neutral data standard. They are often referred to as 'Black Box' or ‘Gray Box’ approaches. This research offers a new comprehensive framework that reduces the limitations of the cited methods. Building regulations, for instance, are legal documents transcribed and approved by professionals to be interpreted and applied by people. They are hardly as precise as formal logic. Engineers, architects, and contractors can read those technical documents and transform them into scientific notations and software applications. They can extract any data they need, reason about it, and apply it at various phases of the project. How these extraction and use are carried out is a critical component of automating the design review process. The chief goal is to address this issue by developing a Generalized Adaptive Framework (GAF) for a neutral data standard (Industry Foundation Classes (IFC)) that enables automating the code compliance checking processes to achieve design efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The objectives of this study comprise i) to develop a theoretical background to an adaptive framework that supports a neutral data standard for transforming the written code regulations and rules into a computable model, and ii) to define the various modules required for computerizing of the code compliance verification process.

This study examined empathy and reciprocity as explanations for why people comply with requests for help. Participants (35 male and 62 female) imagined being asked for money by a person who had locked keys in a car and then reported how likely they would be to comply with such a request, whether they had previously locked their keys in their car (empathy), and, if so, whether they had been helped (reciprocity). In support of the explanation based on empathy, people who reported previously locking their keys in their cars indicated being more likely to comply.

In this work authors offers the list of the generalized requirements (or criteria) for indexes of assessment. Requirements can be applied during the development and the analysis of assessment indexes for programs and projects of evolution and performance of the Russian Federation regardless of exact subject domain. Based on authors experience in the field of various assessment techniques development, compliance to the listed requirements allows to improve interpretability of assessment indexes which, in turn, increases also their usefulness. Besides, in particular circumstances the concept of "quality of an index of assessment" can be expressed through the fact of compliance to the offered requirements (for example, direct calculation of requirements to which the index conforms) that can be the useful, for example, when choosing one "best" index of assessment from several alternatives. The offered list of requirements, certainly, isn't single valid one, and article pursues rather the purpose to open a topic for discussion, than to answer the question posed exhaustively.

In this paper, we study the creep phenomena for self-similar models of viscoelastic materials and derive a generalization of the Kelvin–Voigt model in the framework of fractal continuum calculus. Creep compliance for the Kelvin–Voigt model is extended to fractal manifolds through local fractal-continuum differential operators. Generalized fractal creep compliance is obtained, taking into account the intrinsic time τ and the fractal dimension of time-scale β. The model obtained is validated with experimental data obtained for resin samples with the fractal structure of a Sierpinski carpet and experimental data on rock salt. Comparisons of the model predictions with the experimental data are presented as the curves of slow continuous deformations.

SUMMARYWe present an analytical method for the concurrent calculation of optimal parallel compliant elements and frequency of reference trajectories for serial manipulators performing cyclic tasks. In this approach, we simultaneously shape and exploit the robot's natural dynamics by finding a set of compliant elements and task frequency that result in minimization of an energy-based cost function. The cost function is the integral of a weighted squared norm of the generalized forces. We prove that the generalized force needed for tracking the reference trajectory is a linear function of compliance coefficients and a quadratic function of task frequency. Therefore, the cost function is quadratic with respect to stiffness coefficients and quartic with respect to the task frequency. These properties lead to a well-posed optimization problem with a closed-form solution. Using three case studies, we elucidate the properties of our method.

A new method is presented to compute the mechanical compliance and thermal stress in surface mount leads of arbitrary shape. It involves expressing the profile polynomially by a computer-generated spline curve, and numerically integrating the generalized Castigliano formulas. Comparisons to data in the literature, generated by standard analytical and experimental techniques, show excellent agreement. If ignored, noncompliance with a treatment or nonresponse on outcome measures can bias estimates of treatment effects in a randomized experiment. To identify and estimate causal treatment effects in the case where compliance and response depend on unobservables, we propose the parametric generalized endogenous treatment (GET) model. GET incorporates behavioral responses within an experiment to measure each subject's latent compliance type and identifies causal effects via principal stratification. Using simulation methods and an application to field experimental data, we show GET has a dramatically lower mean squared error for treatment effect estimates than existing approaches to principal stratification that impute, rather than measure, compliance type. In addition, we show that GET allows one to relax and test the instrumental variable exclusion restriction assumption, to test for the presence of treatment effect heterogeneity across a range of compliance types, and to test for treatment ignorability when treatment and control samples are balanced on observable covariates.

In this paper, the optimum design of parallel kinematic toolheads is implemented using genetic algorithms with the consideration of the global stiffness and workspace volume of the toolheads. First, a complete kinetostatic model is developed which includes three types of compliance, namely, actuator compliance, leg bending compliance and leg axial compliance. Second, based on this model, two kinetostatic performance indices are introduced to provide a new means of measuring compliance over the workspace. These two kinetostatic performance indices are the mean value and the standard deviation of the trace of the generalized compliance matrix. The mean value represents the average compliance of the Parallel Kinematic Machines over the workspace, while the standard deviation indicates the compliance fluctuation relative to the mean value. Third, design optimization is implemented for global stiffness and working volume based on kinetostatic performance indices. Additionally, some compliance comparisons between Tripod toolhead and other two principal Tripod-based Parallel Kinematic Machines are conducted.

ABSTRACT This case requires students to conduct an internal audit of a procurement card (PCard) program at a fictitious university. The primary objective of this case is to help students (1) understand the link between risks and controls for a given organization and then (2) link those risks and controls with the appropriate substantive and control tests. Students must complete a Risk-Control Matrix, develop an audit plan, and then conduct substantive audit tests on PCard transactions using Excel or generalized audit software. This audit provides a rich setting for students to complete a variety of real-world audit tasks to identify compliance (or non-compliance) with the PCard Program rules and to prepare business memos to communicate findings. Student feedback indicates that the case not only is realistic, interesting, and a positive learning experience, but also encourages critical thinking. In addition, the case significantly increased students' perceptions regarding their familiarity with PCards, use of generalized audit software (GAS) in compliance audits, and understanding of internal audit uses of GAS.

This study tests the relations among five sources of motivation and two organizational citizenship behaviors. 175 employees from 31 locations of two agriculturally based companies completed the Motivation Sources Inventory and were rated by their supervisors for demonstrated organizational citizenship behaviors. There were significant positive correlations for employees' Self-concept-Internal Motivation with Altruistic Behavior of employees; while employees' Self-concept-External Motivation showed a significant negative relation with Altruistic Behavior by employees. Surprisingly, no correlation between employees' Goal Internalization Motivation and Altruistic Behavior by employees was found. Interpretation of these findings and further research are suggested.

Elliptical vibration-assisted cutting technology has been widely applied in complicated functional micro-structured surface texturing. Elliptical-arc-beam spherical flexure hinges have promising applications in the design of 3D elliptical vibration-assisted cutting mechanisms due to their high motion accuracy and large motion ranges. Analytical compliance matrix formulation of flexure hinges is the basis for achieving high-precision positioning performance of these mechanisms, but few studies focus on this topic. In this paper, analytical compliance equations of spatial elliptic-arc-beam spherical flexure hinges are derived, offering a convenient tool for analysis at early stages of mechanism design. The mechanical model of a generalized flexure hinge is firstly established based on Castigliano’s Second Theorem. By introducing the eccentric angle as the integral variable, the compliance matrix of the elliptical-arc-beam spherical flexure hinge is formulated. Finite element analysis is carried out to verify the accuracy of the derived analytical compliance matrix. The compliance factors calculated by the analytical equations agree well with those solved in the finite element analysis for the maximum error; average relative error and relative standard deviation are 8.25%, 1.83% and 1.78%, respectively. This work lays the foundations for the design and modeling of 3D elliptical vibration-assisted cutting mechanisms based on elliptical-arc-beam spherical flexure hinges.

Résumé :

To estimate descending thoracic aortic compliance in anesthetized open-chest dogs, a modified T-tube arterial model was used. This model consists of two uniform and lossless elastic tubes, one representing arteries going toward the head and upper limbs and the other (body tube) representing descending aortic circulation to the trunk and lower limbs. Each tube terminates with a generalized first-order low-pass filter load. Pressure and flow in the ascending aorta and flow in the upper descending aorta were measured and used to estimate model parameters. Using the estimated model parameters, we calculated the pressure waveshape at the termination of the body tube. Comparison of this model-predicted pressure with pressure measured in the abdominal aorta near the origin of renal arteries suggested that the end of the body tube (effective reflecting site of the body circulation) corresponds to this major branching site of the abdominal aorta. To calculate the length of the body tube, we used aortic pulse wave velocity estimated from the measurements of pressure in ascending and abdominal aorta. Calculated body tube length averaged 30.3 +/- 2.8 cm and approximated the measured length (30.6 +/- 3.0 cm) of the aorta from the arch to the region of the origin of renal arteries. Compliance of the body tube averaged 123 +/- 20 x 10(-6) g-1.cm4.s2 and was interpreted as the descending thoracic aortic compliance. The ratio of this compliance to the body tube length gave an estimate of the effective distributed compliance, i.e., the compliance per unit length that would be observed in the absence of tapering. This ratio averaged 4.10 +/- 0.86 x 10(-6) g-1.cm3.s2 and fell in between the values of local aortic compliance independently estimated along the descending thoracic aorta from measurements of pressure and diameter. Thus tube compliance resulted in a physically identifiable property. This property was contrasted with the ill-defined effective compliances of the terminal loads.

The European Union’s Generalized Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP+) regulation grants beneficiary countries non-reciprocal preferential market access on the condition of ratification and implementation of twenty-seven international conventions which cover a range of policy issues including human rights, labour rights, environmental protection and good governance. Doubts have been raised on the scheme’s efficacy. To analyse whether the scheme can foster the implementation of these conventions, this article attempts to quantify compliance with these conventions by creating a GSP+ Compliance Index. The article presents the results of two variations of the index: a ‘comprehensive index’ which aims to cover as many conventions as possible and a more ‘selective index’ with higher validity. The comprehensive scenario provides scores for all current GSP+ beneficiary countries (Armenia, Bolivia, Cape Verde, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Paraguay, Philippines, Sri Lanka). The selective scenario provides information on all current beneficiary countries, except for Cape Verde and Kyrgyzstan. This paper embeds environmental compliance factor and compliance cost factor into the M-O monopolistic competition and multi-product firm model to construct a theoretical model applicable to environmental compliance and enterprise innovation. In addition, we also construct a new environmental compliance index. We use the random-effects Tobit model and the double hurdle model to empirically test the micro-data from the Database of China Industrial Enterprises from 1998 to 2013, then we use the Generalized Propensity Score Matching (GPSM) to conduct a robustness test. The robustness conclusion is that environmental compliance has a significant U-shaped relationship with enterprise innovation, which means, environmental compliance will inhibit enterprise innovation on the left of the inflection point of environmental compliance (0.669), while environmental compliance on the right of the inflection point will promote enterprise innovation. The sub-sample regressions show that, enhanced environmental compliance of state-owned enterprises, mature enterprises, core area enterprises and export enterprises with low level of the environmental compliance, makes the greater inhibition to enterprise innovation, and enhanced environmental compliance of above enterprises with high level of the environmental compliance, makes the greater contribution to enterprise innovation. To this end, the government should adopt the policy, from the shallower to the deeper, to promote the construction of environmental compliance, and identify the inflection point of the environmental compliance on enterprise innovation to stimulate the role of environmental compliance in promoting enterprise innovation.

The percentage of individual taxpayer compliance both as a whole and non-employees and employees in 2018-2020 has decreased in the implementation of taxpayer compliance so that an evaluation must be carried out both in terms of policies and services. This study aims to obtain empirical evidence of the direct effect of taxpayer compliance which is influenced by tax audits and tax services and the moderating effect of risk preferences on the relationship between tax audits and tax service services on taxpayer compliance. The Pratama Surabaya Mulyorejo Tax Service Office is the object to be researched. Individuals as subjects and population with the type of probability sampling and simple random sampling method as many as 87 respondents. Analysis based on components or commonly known as Generalized Structured Component Analysis (GeSCA) is the analytical technique used in this research. The results of the output in the study explain that there is empirical evidence of taxpayer compliance which is directly influenced by tax audits and tax service services. Additive manufacturing (AM) has revolutionized the design and production of complex geometries by offering unprecedented creative freedom over traditional manufacturing. Despite its growing prominence, AM lacks automated and standardized design rules tailored to specific AM processes, resulting in time-consuming and expert-dependent manual verification. To address these limitations, this research introduces a novel design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) framework consisting of two complementary models designed to automate the design process. The first model, based on a decision tree algorithm, evaluates part compliance with established AM design rules. A modified J48 classifier was implemented to enhance data mining accuracy by achieving a 91.25% classification performance accuracy. This model systematically assesses whether input part characteristics meet AM processing standards, thereby providing a robust tool for verifying design rules. The second model features an AM design rule engine developed with a Python-based graphical user interface (GUI). This engine generates specific recommendations for design adjustments based on part characteristics and machine compatibility, offering a user-friendly approach for identifying potential design issues and ensuring DfAM compliance. By linking part specifications to various AM techniques, this model supports both researchers and engineers in anticipating and mitigating design flaws. Overall, this research establishes a foundation for a comprehensive DfAM expert system.

Creep curves at different temperatures and stress-strain isochrones were abtained by using uniaxial creep test for frozen soft rocks of Cretaceous formation. The test results showed that the creep process was nonlinear,and the viscoelastic creep compliance was related to time and stress. On the basis of generalized Kelvin model,the nonlinear viscoelastic creep expression was proposed by nonlinear improvement on creep compliance and the parameters were also identified. Through the comparison between the theoretical curves and the test results,the correctness and rationality of the model are verified.

BACKGROUND: Pemphigus is an autoimmune blistering disease. According to a report, in areas of endemic pemphigus foliaceus (EPF) in Peru there are cases of pemphigus vulgaris with epidemiologic, clinical and histopathologic characteristics similar to those of "endemic pemphigus vulgaris" (EPV) in Brazil. OBJECTIVES: To determine the clinical and epidemiologic characteristics of endemic pemphigus and the risk factors of patients for developing complications during treatment. METHODS: A study was carried out from July 2003 to March 2008. The study population was 60 patients with EPF and 7 patients with EPV evaluated in hospitals and clinics in the Peruvian Amazon and Lima. A multivariate analysis was carried out using binary logistic regression. RESULTS: The average age of EPF patients was 31.4 years; 55% were men; 60% presented the generalized clinical variant. Non-compliance with the treatment was seen in 57.1% of the patients. Thirty-five percent presented complications (e.g. pyodermitis and pyelonephritis) during treatment. The risk factors for developing complications during treatment were non-compliance with the treatment and having the generalized clinical form. In the EPV group, the average age was 21.7 years; 71.4% were men. All patients presented with the mucocutaneous clinical variant and the initial presentation consisted of oral mucosa lesions; 71.4% presented complications during treatment, pyodermitis being the most frequent. CONCLUSIONS: Non-compliance with the treatment and the generalized clinical form are risk factors for the development of complications during treatment of patients with EPF. Peru indeed has EPV cases with epidemiologic characteristics similar to EPF. Living in a rural area may represent a risk factor for the development of complications during treatment of patients with EPV.

Abstract This study analyses tax compliance among firms in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) within an extended Slippery Slope Framework (eSSF). It applies instrumental variables and generalized estimating equations models on a constructed World Bank’s Enterprise Survey longitudinal dataset. The results indicate that the perceived power of the tax authorities does not influence firms’ tax compliance, which could be linked to corruption in the form of informal payment. The results also show that corruption encourages the culture of tax non-compliance among firms in SSA because the defaulting firms bribe tax authorities in order to avoid paying taxes and being punished for that. In addition, the results demonstrate that the perceived trust of tax authorities (state representatives) is vitally important in encouraging tax compliance among firms in SSA. In terms of political decisions, it may be implied that gaining trust of taxpayers should be pursued.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the contribution of tax morale, compliance costs and tax compliance of financial services firms in Uganda. Design/methodology/approach This study is cross-sectional and correlational and adopts firm-level data collected using a questionnaire survey of 210 financial services firms in Uganda from which usable questionnaires were received from 152 financial services firms. Findings Tax morale and compliance costs contribute up to 20.6 per cent of the variance in tax compliance of the financial services firms. Tax morale and tax compliance are positively and significantly associated. Results further indicate that compliance costs and tax compliance are positively and significantly associated. National pride and trust in government and its legal systems as dimensions of tax morale independently are significantly associated with tax compliance. Results also indicate that administration costs and specialist costs as dimensions of compliance costs individually are significantly associated with tax compliance. Research limitations/implications This study results should be generalized with caution, as they are limited to the financial services firms in Uganda. Originality/value Whereas there has been a number of studies on tax compliance in both developed and developing countries, this is the first study on the African scene to examine the contribution of tax morale and compliance costs on tax compliance of financial services firms in a single suite. It is unbelievable that the financial services firms, especially commercial banks which are highly regulated by the central bank in many developing countries, can afford to report tax payables year after year.

This study examines the influence of corporate attributes on the compliance of Nigerian Deposit Money Banks with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Prudential Guidelines. It focuses on three key attributes: asset tangibility, revenue growth, and ownership structure. Data were obtained from the financial statements of fourteen banks listed on the Nigerian Exchange Group as of December 31, 2021, and records from the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation covering the period 2012 to 2021. The analysis applies the Generalized Method of Moments to ensure robust results. The findings reveal that while asset tangibility has a positive but statistically insignificant effect on compliance, revenue growth exhibits a significant positive influence. Conversely, ownership structure shows a significant negative impact on regulatory adherence. The study concludes that strategies to enhance revenue growth, such as business expansion, customer retention, and service diversification, are critical for improving compliance levels. Furthermore, diversifying ownership structures by attracting foreign investors and fostering a culture of regulatory compliance are recommended to address challenges in adherence.

This study presents a cost-effective sensorless whole-body compliance control strategy for collaborative manipulator. The control strategy realizes decoupled adjustable compliant effects, namely, stiffness, damping, and inertia controls, under a single control framework. The inherent position controller is retained, which ensures a smooth transition between normal position operation and compliance control. The two features can greatly simplify the customization of collaborative manipulator control algorithms. A modified sensorless disturbance observer based on generalized momentum is used to estimate the external torque, and this way eliminates the dependence on the force/torque sensors. Only basic motor position sensors are required. The compliant trajectory generated by the external torque is sufficiently smooth owing to the haptic filter. Various experiments prove that the modified sensorless disturbance observer is effective. The necessity of using the position servo loop for sensorless compliance control is discussed through a comparative experiment. The proposed compliance control strategy is further verified using sensorless and sensor-based disturbance observers.

Purpose: This research aims to examine the influence of tax knowledge, tax sanctions and system modernization on MSME taxpayer compliance in the East Cengkareng area, West Jakarta. Methodology/Approach: This study used a quantitative approach with data collection techniques by distributing questionnaires and observations. The sample in this study comprised 100 MSME taxpayer respondents who met the criteria for having the largest NPWP in East Cengkareng. A random sampling method was used in this study. Hypothesis testing was performed using multiple linear regression analysis. Results: This study shows that tax knowledge influences taxpayer compliance. Tax sanctions affect taxpayer compliance, and system modernization has no effect on taxpayer compliance. Limitations: The results of this study may only apply to the East Cengkareng area in West Jakarta, and cannot be directly generalized to other regions or the general population. Contribution: This means that taxpayers’ tax knowledge regarding taxation will guarantee that they will be more compliant in carrying out their tax obligations.

In order to do so, comprehensive security policy must be formulated and implemented. Every employee of the organization must comply with the organization’s security policy. Although organizations implement information security policy, it is commonly observed that employees do not comply with the organization information security policy. The purpose of this research was to identify organizational factors that shape employees behavior to comply with information system security policy in Ethio-telecom. Data were collected via using survey method. Multiple linear regression was used as data analysis method. The study result showed that management support, awareness and training, and accountability are leading organizational factors that shape employees behavior to comply with the existing information system security policy. This is a single case study; it cannot be generalized for other organizations. Other researchers can replicate this research for generalizability of the research findings across different contexts.

In the paper the assessment of the efficiency in a compliance activity process is considered. The peculiarity of this investigation is the integration of current procedures of quality management with quality meter-ing regulations. The range of quality indices in a co-pliance activity is offered. The assessment of compliance activity quality is offered for carrying out through the method of the formation of the generalized (complex) quality index with the use of quality metering regulations. A complex index is calculated according to the data of process monitoring in accordance with the principle of weighted average. An approach to the setting of planned values of quality indices is offered. The recommendations are given for the application of an expert method for the definition of factors of value weightiness. A scale for the interpretation of assessment results is shown. The introduction of critical values of quality indices for the recalculation of an efficiency assessment obtained with the use of a veto factor is offered. The results of the paper are of interest for managers of quality.

The nature of stock market integration has been an issue for almost a decade; this issue is more complicated toward Shari’ah compliance between countries since there are differences of companies screening process that can be classified as Shari’ah compliances. The differences make the integration of Shari’ah compliances stock market become a major issue in trying to answer the question whether one country can be the placed for Shari’ah portfolio diversification. This study aims to measure Shari’ah compliances integration and portfolio diversification in Indonesia and Malaysia Shari’ah compliances toward other Shari’ah compliances in the world. Six Shari’ah compliances are selected based on countries level of development and geographical factor. This studies relies on two major time series investigation techniques, namely the Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach and multi-variate Vector Error Correction Mechanism (VECM), based on the Generalized Methods of Moments (GMM). The ARDL approach is used to determine the existence of long run integration among Shari’ah compliances, while the multi-variate VECM based on the GMM is adopted to provide a robust analysis of short and long-run dynamic causal linkages among the stock markets. The article discusses the treatment of patients with primary generalized osteoarthritis (OA), a common joint lesion of different localization. Clinical guidelines are presented that provide guidance on various drug and non-drug approaches in the treatment of primary generalized OA. In accordance with the modern understanding of the pathogenesis of OA, the role of inflammation and the influence of various pro-inflammatory factors, the priority of anti-inflammatory therapy, primarily non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), is justified. A clinical case of a 5-year observation of a patient with primary generalized OA and low compliance to treatment with symptom-modifying slowacting drugs is described. For articular syndrome exacerbations etoricoxib (Kostarox®) was mainly used as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent at a dose of 60 mg / day for 7–14 days with a good effect. Due to self-isolation and inability to visit a doctor during COVID-19 pandemic, the patient took etoricoxib for a long time (up to 200 days) for severe neck- and backpain relief, the duration of some courses was up to3 months. We discuss the possibility of etoricoxib use not only in the «on demand» mode, but also for a long time – until the effect is achieved.

There has been a rising interest in compliant legged locomotion to improve the adaptability and energy efficiency of robots. However, few approaches can be generalized to soft ground due to the lack of consideration of the ground surface. When a robot locomotes on soft ground, the elastic robot legs and compressible ground surface are connected in series. The combined compliance of the leg and surface determines the natural dynamics of the whole system and affects the stability and efficiency of the robot. This paper proposes a bio-inspired leg compliance planning and implementation method with consideration of the ground surface. The ground stiffness is estimated based on analysis of ground reaction forces in the frequency domain, and the leg compliance is actively regulated during locomotion, adapting them to achieve harmonic oscillation. The leg compliance is planned on the condition of resonant movement which agrees with natural dynamics and facilitates rhythmicity and efficiency. The proposed method has been implemented on a hydraulic quadruped robot. The simulations and experimental results verified the effectiveness of our method.

Excessive noncompliance can be decreased by increasing positive alternative behavior, such as compliance with behavior modification. This study aimed to examine effectiveness of behavior modification program to enhance compliance for child with High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (HF-ASD) through single case A-B with follow-up design. Participant of this study was an 8-years old boy with HF-ASD and demonstrated noncompliance problem. This intervention was conducted in 19 sessions and applied errorless compliance training principle, such as behavioral momentum, errorless learning, effective instruction delivery, and positive reinforcement. Results showed behavior modification program effective to enhance compliance for child with HF-ASD from 8% to 81%, as well as generalized effect to untrained instruction that were not focus of intervention.

Résumé :

In this paper, a generalized predictive control scheme for wind energy conversion systems that consists of a wind turbine and a doubly-fed induction generator is proposed. The design is created by using the maximum power point tracking theory to maximize the extracted wind power, even when the turbine is uncertain or the wind speed varies abruptly. The suggested controller guarantees compliance with current constraints by applying them in the regulator’s conceptual design process to assure that the rotor windings are not damaged due to the over-current. This GPC speed control solves the optimization problem based on the truncated Newton minimization method. Finally, simulation results, which are obtained through the Matlab/Simulink software, show the effectiveness of the proposed speed regulator compared to the widely used Proportional-integral controller for DFIG.

To study the linear viscoelastic (LVE) of crumb rubber-modified asphalt mixtures before and after the warm mix additive was added methods of obtaining the discrete and continuous spectrum are presented. Besides, the relaxation modulus and creep compliance are constructed from the discrete and continuous spectrum, respectively. The discrete spectrum of asphalt mixtures can be obtained from dynamic modulus test results according to the generalized Maxwell model (GMM) and the generalized Kelvin model (GKM). Similarly, the continuous spectrum of asphalt mixtures can be obtained from the dynamic modulus test data via the inverse integral transformation. In this paper, the test procedure for all specimens was ensured to be completed in the LVE range. The results show that the discrete spectrum and the continuous spectrum have similar shapes, but the magnitude and position of the spectrum peaks is different. The continuous spectrum can be considered as the limiting case of the discrete spectrum. The relaxation modulus and creep compliance constructed by the discrete and continuous spectrum are almost indistinguishable in the reduced time range of 10−5 s–103 s. However, there are more significant errors outside the time range, and the maximum error is up to 55%.
