Résumé :
The article examines the phenomenon of grammatical equivalence based on the Latin poem «To Lesbia» by Catullus and its French translations of the XVI-XXI centuries. The research reveals that the sequence of certain grammatical structures in Catullus 5 plays a significant role in revealing the author's message addressed to Lesbia. In the article we present a brief analysis of the structure of this Latin poem with an emphasis on the role of conjunctive, gerund, imperative and constructions with the sequence of tenses and moods in the author's speech. This paper explores the challenges of non-equivalence at the grammatical categories in the Kĩkamba Bible translation. Translation involves rendering a source text message into the target text by using the register, background knowledge, and other language resources to meet the intended purpose. The process is hampered by non-equivalence, which occurs when a lexical item or an expression in the source language lacks an equivalent item to translate it into the target language. Proverbs are essential expressions that encapsulate folk wisdom, showcase the beauty of language and life, and enrich the spirit of the language. This paper discusses common and specific features of equivalent proverbs in Kazakh, English, Russian, and Uighur. A logical question arises: why were these languages chosen for analysis? In a globalized world, immigration is a significant trend in many countries, and Kazakhstan is no exception. Many English-and-Uighur speaking immigrants live in Kazakhstan today. In translation, translators are often confronted with the choice between congruent form and metaphorical form, which is closely correlated with grammatical metaphor theory in systemic functional linguistics. This paper attempts to apply grammatical metaphor theory to Jing Ye Si and its seven translations to assess poetry translation quality and provide guidance for translators from the perspective of systemic functional linguistics. It strives to elucidate the grammatical metaphor in the C-E translation of Jing Ye Si and the way to evaluate its seven translations via grammatical metaphor. In t

Abstract According to modem trends in linguistics, a text rather than a sentence is the unit of communication, and communication and negotiation of meanings in human verbal transactions is achieved within the framework of a text. Among the features which contribute to the texture of a text and distinguish it from a non-text, cohesion has been argued to be an important one. Halliday and Hasan (1976) have described different types of cohesion (grammatical, lexical and conjunction). In this paper we would like to define the notion of Translation Equivalence (TE) in terms of lexical cohesion. The

Uniformity and clarity of grammatical terminology are utopian, both in French and in comparative contexts of French and Slovak. Grammatical nomenclature suffers from significant variability and instability, despite the aim of grammarians and terminologists to reconcile the quality of grammatical discourse with didactic effectiveness. The reasons for this are that grammarians’ terminological choices are partly guided by the linguistic theory which governs the development of grammar and, moreover, grammatical terminology is subject to evolution, trends and sometimes even conflicting views. An analysis of Mexican oral corpora shows both linguistic and social conditioning: Each auxiliary is favored by certain classes of main verbs, and andar is favored in popular varieties.
