Résumé :
We measured the rate of liquid filtration in isolated dog lung lobes inflated to a constant alveolar pressure of 25 cmH2O and with all open vessels filled with plasma. We measured lung weight gain at vascular pressures ranging from 5 to 40 cmH2O relative to pleural pressure. We confirmed that under zone 1 conditions the "arterial" and "venous" extra-alveolar segments have essentially the same filtration characteristics. Using the combined extra-alveolar vascular system, we determined when recruitment of filtration surface area occurred as we increased vascular pressure from 0 to 40 cmH2O. Base

Abstract Affected by groundwater exploitation in the riverside, the infiltration of river water to recharge groundwater will cause changes in the groundwater environment, which has an important impact on the geochemical behavior of arsenic in groundwater. In this study, the groundwater environment zones in the process of river water infiltration were divided, and the arsenic content in groundwater in the study area had a good correlation with the environment zones. We studied the effects of an increase in pulmonary blood flow (PBF) on steady-state lung lymph flow (QL) and protein transport in anesthetized dogs (n = 7) to estimate the effect of vascular recruitment in zone 3 on transvascular filtration. At the end of each experiment, we increased left atrial pressure to 25-30 mmHg using a balloon catheter and obtained a washdown of the lymph protein concentration. PBF was increased with an extracorporeal circuit, which pumped blood from the left to the right atrium, and increases in pulmonary capillary pressure (Pc) were minimized by lowering left atrial

The drainage- and dewatering-controlling mechanisms in a screw press were detailed in this work. Three pulps (kraft pulp, bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp, and thermomechanical pulp) were studied to compare a wide range of wood fibre types. The dewatering was controlled by the screw press parameters and the pulps’ properties. Filtration was found to be the controlling mechanism in the first part of the screw press for the three pulps, and it was less important when the fines content was greater. Abstract Methods of numerical modelling have helped to carry out the research of coupled processes of rock deformation around a gate road with methane drainage boreholes and methane filtration in terms of applying different techniques of its protection. The following has been shown: without the use of protective structures, underworked drainage boreholes are broken and stop functioning. If the protective structures are used, the rock-bolting beam above the mined-out space becomes stable. An oil filter is a necessary and significant part of many manufacturing processes and equipment. Unlike the structural design and filter material selection, the particle movement in the filter during filtration is the fundamental factor influencing the filter’s performance, but this has not attracted enough attention. Due to the small size and large number of particles in the filter, it is difficult to monitor every particle’s movement. Therefore, this work used a hydraulic oil filter as a case study. In well drilling operations, interactions between drilling fluid water-based and the well-bore present significant challenges, often escalating project costs and timelines. Particularly, fractures (both induced and natural) and permeable zones at the wellbore can result in substantial mud loss or increased filtration. Addressing these challenges, our research introduces a novel coupled numerical model designed to precisely calculate fluid losses in fractured and permeable zones. Today, it is common practice to produce oil from failure-prone, weakly cemented reservoirs. The operators’ desire to increase production requires operating wells at their maximum capacity, and therefore leads to more aggressive drainage of the reservoirs with high oil flow from the pay zone to the well bore. At the same time, the oil filtration rate increases significantly, especially in the near well bore zone. This promotes the active movement of rock particles together with the production from the bottomhole formation zone to the well bore. Sand movement to the well bore and removal into th

Water treatment is usually conducted on the surface to reduce TSS (Total Suspended Solids) before being injected. However, to what extent the TSS should be controlled depends on specific water injection conditions and there are no methods in industry to quantitatively evaluate it.
