Résumé :
In view of typical many-one distribution network in the modern distribution logistics system, the mathematic model on the inventory-transportation integrated optimization problem with stochastic demand and diversified products was established by using a bi-level programming method. Both decisions of inventory control and transportation arrangement were made at the same time. An improved heuristic algorithm was proposed to divide the integration problem into both problems of the inventory and the transportation: the cost were distributed by the former according to different products and the optimized cost was sought out by the latter according to different periods, thus the inventory-transportation integrated optimization problem was solved through the repeated iteration between the former and the latter. The mathematic description and the heuristic algorithm to the massive practice of the modern distribution logistics system are realized.

Résumé :
A complex or unstructured problem is based on multi criteria not on a single criterion. A contractor selection problem is a multi-criteria problem. A correct decision-making is required for selecting the appropriate contractor for a construction project. Selection of a contractor is a key decision made by clients and the process of selection a contractor has become an important issue in construction projects. Many multi-criteria techniques have been proposed and applied to such problems solution. This paper aims to propose integrated model for MCDM. The integrated model contains two stages. First stage integrates two MCDM methods are AHP and ANN to prepare a shortlist of the best alternatives. Second stage apply statistical model COP to choose the optimum alternative from the best alternatives in a shortlist. Proposed model for tendering system provides automated a decision-making process that reduces the time and manpower requirements for processing tender

Résumé :
AbstractSolving the coronal heating problem involves dealing with a number of theoretical and observational steps. These include designing instruments, deriving required observables from observations, developing theories and finding the unique footprints of theoretical models. Each of these steps poses its unique challenges to theoreticians and observers. It is important to treat the heating problem in an integrated manner, whereby each component of the problem is treated in its relationship to the other parts rather than in isolation. The paper presents a brief review of recent developments in the field with an emphasis on forward modeling and inversion which play a central role in solving the heating problem by providing the necessary interaction between theories and observations.

Résumé :
This paper considers the integrated hub location and multi-depot vehicle routing problem. In this type of problem, we have to determine the location of hubs within a set of candidate locations, allocation of customers to each selected hub location and routes of the vehicles to meet the demands of number of customers in order to minimize the total system cost. To solve these problems simultaneously we apply a hierarchical structure, which hub location as the main problem and vehicle routing as a subordinate one. An integrated solution method based on ant colony optimization algorithm is developed which solves hub location problem and vehicle routing problem hierarchically. Its performance is examined through a comparative study.

Résumé :
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the feasibility of solving an integrated flight scheduling, fleet assignment and crew pairing problem for an on-demand service using a small, up to 19-seater, aircraft. Design/methodology/approach Evolutionary algorithm is developed to solve the problem. Algorithm design assumes indirect solution representation that allows to evaluate partially feasible solutions only and speed up calculations. Tested algorithm implementation takes advantage of the graphic processing unit. Findings Performed tests confirm that the algorithm can successfully solve the defined integrated scheduling problem. Practical implications The presented algorithm allows to optimise on-demand transport service operation within minutes. Social implications Optimisation of operation cost contributes to better accessibility of transport. Originality/value The presented integrated formulation allows to avoid sub optimal solutions that are results of solving sequential sub problems. Indirect representation and evaluation strategy can be applied to speed up calculations in other problems as well.

Résumé :
Material flow system design problems (i.e. facility layout, material handling equipment selection and specification, flow path design, unit load sizing, cell design, warehousing, routing, etc.) have been predominately modelled independently in the past. Independent consideration of each design problem has reduced the solution complexity, but in the process has caused a loss in problem reality. This paper reviews recent developments in integrated approaches to material flow design and presents a model which integrates material handling equipment selection and specification (including material handling interface equipment) and path/load dependent unit load size. The formulation is solved using the meta-heuristic procedure of tabu search to find good solutions to the more realistic (and more complex) model formulation.

Résumé :
Periodic timetabling is an important, yet computationally challenging, problem in public transportation planning. The usual objective when designing a timetable is to minimize passenger travel time. However, in most approaches, it is ignored that the routes of the passengers depend on the timetable, so handling their routing separately leads to timetables that are suboptimal for the passengers. This has recently been recognized, but integrating the passenger routing in the optimization is computationally even harder than solving the classic periodic timetabling problem. In our paper, we develop an exact preprocessing method for reducing the problem size and a heuristic reduction approach in which only a subset of the passengers is considered. It provides upper and lower bounds on the objective value, such that it can be adjusted with respect to quality and computation time. Together, we receive an approach that is applicable for real-world problems. We experimentally evaluate the performance of the approach on a benchmark example and on three close-to-real-world instances. Furthermore, we prove that the ratio between the classic problem without routing and the problem with integrated routing is bounded under weak and realistic assumptions.

Résumé :
Job scheduling and AGV scheduling in FMS are regarded as two independent problems by most researchers. Their isolation ignores AGV’s use conflicts in the job scheduling and leads to low average equipment utilization. We point out the necessity for the job scheduling to integrate with AGV scheduling through analyzing scheduling problem of a specific type of FMS with single AGV and single buffer area. Then a corresponding mathematic model for integrated scheduling is presented based on the problem description and constraints for scheduling. A specific FMS is adopted to validate this integrated scheduling model. Based on data from this FMS, the model is performed through genetic algorithm with appropriate parameters. And job’s processing sequences as well as AGV’s moving path are obtained from the optimal gene order. The experiment result of this scheduling model adopting genetic algorithm shows good computing efficiency and equipment utilization.

The problem of planning for a robot that operates in environments containing a large number of objects, taking actions to move itself through the world as well as to change the state of the objects, is known as task and motion planning (TAMP). TAMP problems contain elements of discrete task planning, discrete–continuous mathematical programming, and continuous motion planning and thus cannot be effectively addressed by any of these fields directly. In this article, we define a class of TAMP problems and survey algorithms for solving them, characterizing the solution methods in terms of their strategies for solving the continuous-space subproblems and their techniques for integrating the discrete and continuous components of the search.

Résumé :
The development of science and technology during the Covid-19 pandemic re-quires universities to prepare their students to have collaborative and problem-solving skills through appropriate learning today, namely, integrating learning with online technology. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of im-plementing collaborative problem-based learning (CPBL) integrated with online learning on student collaborative and problem-solving skills. The research meth-od used was quantitative with a post-test quasi-experimental design involving fourth-semester students in the Early Childhood Education Study Program, Uni-versitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo, Indonesia. The effectiveness of implementing CPBL integrated with online learning was analyzed primarily using the t-independent sample test. The study results showed that the implementation of CPBL integrated with online learning effectively improved students’ collaborative and problem-solving skills. This effectiveness especially occurs when construct-ing knowledge, looking for resolution strategies, and evaluating solutions in breakout rooms and collaborative forums and zoom meetings. Meanwhile, the study results recommend that CPBL integrated with online learning can be used as a solution and an essential study for academics to keep familiarizing and prac-ticing collaborative and problem-solving skills that are relatively difficult to im-prove during the Covid-19 pandemic.
