Effects of growth regulators (auxin and cytokinin) on the induction, propagation of adventitious bud, and further plant regeneration. 2. The influence of various root cutting and cutting methods on shoot propagation. 3. The propagation efficiency of tissue culture and root cutting was compared. The young leaf was the best explant resulting high rate of shoot formation, shoot number, and the lowest browning rate. The optimum condition was obtained by young leaf explants supplemented with TDZ.

The results are summarized as follows: 1.Seeds of Isatis indigotica were germinated on the medium containing 1/10 MS basal salts,1% sucrose and 0.7% agar(pH=6.0), after two weeks under dark, the optimum germination rate was 855%.2.
