We have investigated ion-acoustic solitary waves in a multicomponent plasma. The study shows an interaction of the negatively charged particles with the solitary waves, due to which interesting physical behaviour of the solitary waves is observed. Moreover, the isothermality and the non-isothermality of the plasma exhibit different soliton-type solutions and a transition of the soliton's behaviour can be shown through the changes of the non-isothermality in the plasma.

Nonlinear ion-acoustic solitary waves are studied in a cylindrically bounded plasma consisting of ions and ion beams, along with multiple-temperature electrons, through the derivation of a Korteweg–deVries equation. The interaction of isothermality on the propagation of radially ingoing ion-acoustic waves in various plasmas exerts a drastic modifying effect on the existence and behaviour of the solitons. The results have been compared extensively with those available to date for planar, as well as spherical, solitons.

The effect of the boundary conditions of the first and second kind on the predicted characteristics of anomalous heat transfer intensification in the case of turbulent low-velocity air flow over an inclined groove in the hot wall of a narrow channel is numerically investigated.
