Let [Formula: see text] be a locally noetherian Grothendieck category. In this paper, we define and study the section functor on [Formula: see text] with respect to an open subset of [Formula: see text]. Next, we define and study local cohomology theory in [Formula: see text] in terms of the section functors. Finally, we study abstract local cohomology functor on the derived category [Formula: see text].

The purpose of this paper is to study the consequences of an endomorphism near-ring of a finite group being a local near-ring and the existence of such near-rings. As we shall see in Section 2, an endomorphism near-ring of a finite group being local gives us some information about both the structure of the group (Theorem 2.2) and the automorphisms of the group lying in the near-ring (Theorem 2.3). Existence of local endomorphism near-rings of finite groups is considered in Section 3 where we obtain as our main result that any p-group of automorphisms of a p-group containing the inner automorph

Tourism policy exists to provide tourists and the community with certainty about tourism development, maximizing benefits for stakeholders while minimizing adverse effects, costs, and other impacts. Many cities worldwide rely on tourism for local revenue, so the city government must consider a tourism development concept that preserves natural, social, and cultural resources for future generations. Sustainable tourism is developing quickly and favorably for the local population and the environment. In the foundation of effective touristic management lies the effective management of human resou

Wicksell's classical corpuscle problem deals with the retrieval of the size distribution of spherical particles from planar sections. We discuss the problem in a local stereology framework. Each particle is assumed to contain a reference point and the individual particle is sampled with an isotropic random plane through this reference point. Both the size of the section profile and the position of the reference point inside the profile are recorded and used to recover the distribution of the corresponding particle parameters. Theoretical results concerning the relationship between the profile

AbstractThe structural behaviour and design of stainless steel hollow sections in fire, including stainless steel (i) circular hollow sections (CHS), (ii) elliptical hollow sections (EHS), (iii) square hollow sections (SHS) and (iv) rectangular hollow sections (RHS), are explored in this paper. Shell finite element models of stainless steel CHS, EHS, SHS and RHS able to replicate their structural response at elevated temperatures are created. Numerical parametric studies are performed on cold‐formed and hot‐rolled austenitic, duplex and ferritic stainless steel CHS, EHS, SHS and RHS subjected

The laboratory studies on the mechanical properties of the GFRP beams with two different sections are carried out. Their mechanical behavior and the failure features are described and analyzed. The test results indicate that the stability of the GFRP middle beam and the local strength at the joint between the web and the flange are the main factors in the design of the composite middle beams. Based on the test results, a new-style GFRP middle beam with- I-section and double webs is proposed and designed. The structural performance of thin-walled compression members are subject to the effects of local buckling, interaction between buckling modes, loading end conditions and material yielding and that due to these effects the compressive carrying capability of thin-walled members can be significantly diminished. Simple approximate solutions for the buckling coefficients of the web and compressive flange are developed using the energy method, and they are refined using the numerical results. In modern steel construction, thin-walled elements with Class 4 cross-sections are commonly used. For the sake of the computation of such elements according to European Eurocode 3 (EC3), simplified computational models are applied. These models do not account for important parameters that affect the behavior of a structure susceptible to local stability loss. This study discussed the effect of local buckling on the design ultimate resistance of a continuous beam with a thin-walled Class 4 I-shaped cross-section. In the investigations, a more accurate computational model was employed. A new cal
