Insomnia is a common problem in older people, especially in patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) whose circadian rhythm is often compromised. Insomnia exerts such a toll on caregivers that it is frequently the primary reason for seeking to institutionalize their loved ones. Three different types of insomnia are recognized: sleep-onset or initial insomnia, sleep maintenance or middle insomnia, and early morning awakening or late insomnia. Nocturnal hypoglycemia, as a cause of middle insomnia, is the main focus of this case study. Other types of insomnia are also briefly reviewed. The m

Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI) is a strategy that was developed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to reduce the mortality and morbidity rate of children younger than 5 years and to improve the quality of life of these children. The reduction of child mortality and morbidity is one of the Millennium Developmental Goals (MDGs) as sub-Saharan Africa has a high child mortality and morbidity prevalence. The IMCI strategy has three components namely case management, the health system and the household and community component.

On the basis of ECMS, the control parameters are determined by Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) to take fuel consumption, emissions and State Of Charge (SOC) of battery into account. Recursive Least Squares (RLS), Radial Basis Function Network (RBFN) and Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) are employed to generate the most suitable control parameters. In other words, one person is diagnosed with dementia every three seconds. While the management of chronicle diseases is emphasized in most of the health promotion and prevention, studies show that staying mentally as well as physically active, relieving stress and having a healthy diet can effectively reduce one’s risk of developing dementia and prevent patients with dementia from deterioration. We aim to use two strategies to manage disease caused by CMV on crops. One is to develop cross protection by utilization of mild strain virus and the other is to induce plant resistance in plant by treatment of culture filtrate derived from fungi (NTU1F8) isolated from soil. We first conducted our strategies on Nicotiana benthamiana. The result showed that 2b gene-partial deleted CMV induced only mild symptom on N. benthamiana and

Concussion affects the adolescent population in large numbers, primarily because of the popularity of team sports that are played in middle and high school. This adolescent age group is more susceptible to the adverse effects of concussion due to physiological immaturity, and recovery for this population takes longer than in adults. Speech-language pathologists, who are trained to treat cognitive-communication deficits, are present in the majority of school systems throughout the United States, and could be a useful resource to manage and treat students who incur concussion.
