AbstractIn recent years, we have seen several new models of dependent type theory extended with some form of modal necessity operator, including nominal type theory, guarded and clocked type theory and spatial and cohesive type theory. In this paper, we study modal dependent type theory: dependent type theory with an operator satisfying (a dependent version of) the K axiom of modal logic. We investigate both semantics and syntax. For the semantics, we introduce categories with families with a dependent right adjoint (CwDRA) and show that the examples above can be presented as such. Indeed, we

Résumé :
A theoretical study of sound transmission loss across a clamped double-laminated composite plate filled with poroelastic material is formulated. Biot’s theory is employed to describe wave propagation in elastic porous media. The two face composite plates are modeled as classical thin plates. By using the modal superposition theory, a double series solution for the sound transmission loss of the structure is obtained with the help of the Galerkin method. The analytical model is validated against previous experimental results of a single sound wave under normal incidence. The numerical results s

This study aims to determine the effect of working capital on profitability in telecommunications companies in Indonesia, namely PT. Indosat Tbk, PT. Smartfren Telecom Tbk, and PT. Bakrie Telecom Tbk 2006-2015. The type of research used is descriptive and verification. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Based on the results of the study indicate that there is a positive effect of working capital on profitability, which means that if there is a change in working capital it will affect the increase in profitability (ROA) of the telecommunications sub-sector. Résumé :
The present article introduces anagentive cognitive construction grammarapproach to the analysis of English central modals. One of the premises of the new theory is that speaker meaning cannot be captured by looking at form-function relations only but through the integration of additional conceptual layers such as agency, embodiment, and argument structure construction. This theoretical turn is supported empirically by a corpus study aimed at identifying specific modal constructions in the 520 million wordCorpus of Contemporary American English. The results show that(i) English modals are reli

Résumé :
Agent-oriented techniques represent a promising approach for engineering complex systems where interaction is probably the most important single characteristic. Accordingly, the recent years have witnessed the emergence of different approaches for the study of intelligent agent-based systems. One such architecture views the system as a rational agent having certain mental attitudes of Belief, Desire and Intention (BDI). This paper explores a particular type of rational agent, a Belief-Goal-Role agent. Unlike most previous work, our approach has been to characterize the mental state of the agen

Our aim is to discuss what, when and, how deep logic should be taught in the computer science education in connection with the so called Bologna process. We survey the spread of logic in the computer science education. We draw special attention to the process resulting by 1987 in a comprehensive school in the international logic research called Computer Science Logic. It includes the investigation of research problems arising among others on such fields as programming theory, data- and knowledge base theory and, artificial intelligence as well. New directions have emerged during the problem so

Résumé :
The study of stability of the stellar disks of flat galaxies is the first step towards an understanding of the phenomena of spiral structure. To explain the spiral pattern, Lin and Shu (1964) further developed the Lindblad's idea of density waves by considering the spiral structure as the collective effect in a self-gravitating system. As an extension to the original Lin-Shu theory, unstable spiral modes have been obtained from an asymptotic analysis (e.g., Bertin [1980]). In such “modal theory”, the Jeans-type instability (even weak) is important to the maintenance of spiral structure.

Nano-structures play a crucial role in advancing technology due to their unique properties and applications in various fields. This study examines the forced vibration behavior of an orthotropic nano-system consisting of an elastically connected nanoplate and a doubly curved shallow nano-shell. Both nano-elements are simply supported and embedded in a Winkler-type elastic medium. Utilizing the Eringen constitutive elastic relation, Kirchhoff–Love plate theory, and Novozhilov’s linear shallow shell theory, we derive a system of four coupled nonhomogeneous partial differential equations (PDEs) d

The theory of program modules is of interest to language designers not only for its practical importance to programming, but also because it lies at the nexus of three fundamental concerns in language design: the phase distinction , computational effects , and type abstraction . We contribute a fresh “synthetic” take on program modules that treats modules as the fundamental constructs, in which the usual suspects of prior module calculi (kinds, constructors, dynamic programs) are rendered as derived notions in terms of a modal type-theoretic account of the phase distinction.
