Résumé :
<p>In next-generation wireless networks, a Multi-Mode Device (MMD) can be connected with available Radio Access Technology (RAT) in a Heterogeneous Wireless Network (HWN). The appropriate RAT selection is essential to achieve expected Quality of Service (QoS) in HWN. There are many factors to select an appropriate RAT in HWN including Data rate, Power consumption, Security, Network delay, Service price, etc. Nowadays, the MMDs are capable to handle with multiple types of services like voice, file downloading, video streaming. Considering numerous factors and multiple types of services, it is a great challenge for MMDs to select the appropriate RAT. A Multi-Attribute Decision Making (MADM) method to deal with numerous attributes to achieve the expected goal is Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). This research utilized TOPSIS method to evaluate its proposed algorithm to choose the proper RAT for single and dual call services. The algorithm applies users' preference of a specific RAT that varies for diverse categories of calls. It also aggregates the assigned call weight and call priority to choose the RAT for group call admission for different scenarios. The highest closeness coefficient has been considered the appropriate networks among other networks. 100 call admission into three networks has been simulated and has been observed.</p>

Résumé :
Network programmability and edge computing as key features of next generation communications enable innovative services. While the programmability is focused on the core network of the fifth-generation system, the edge computing moves the network intelligence to the radio access network. This paper presents a study on the programmability of connectivity control as a function of radio access network using Multi-access Edge Computing. The capability of using more than one radio access technology simultaneously enhances reliability and increases the throughput, especially in dense networks. Opening the radio access network interfaces for programmability of multi-connectivity enables analytics applications to control the device connections to multiple radio links simultaneously based on information of radio conditions, user location or specific policies. The research novelty is in opening the radio access network interfaces for edge applications to access connectivity control.

Résumé :
Multiple Radio Access Technology (multi-RAT) communication with Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) significantly increases the flexibility of Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Location-based services that build upon such a multimodal communication architecture are able to switch to an optimal localization method depending on the constraints of the active wireless technology. Furthermore, the resulting location estimate can aid location-based handover mechanisms to reduce the energy consumption of a multi-RAT IoT device. In this research, we present our design of a multimodal localization framework and illustrate the benefit of such a framework with two IoT use case examples. For the first use case, valuable artwork is tracked during transportation to a museum. In the second use case, we monitor the usage and location of large construction tools. Finally, we propose how our localization framework can be improved to deal with implementation challenges and to reduce location estimation errors.

Résumé :
Various technologies have been developed for the efficient use of the multiple radio access technologies resource at the radio access network level or other network levels to improve user service quality in mobile communication networks. In long-term evolution, mobile carriers are commercializing radio access network-level traffic aggregation technologies such as licensed-assisted access-long-term evolution, long-term evolution-unlicensed, and long-term evolution-wireless local area network aggregation, which use the multi-accesses of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project and WiFi, and the multipath transmission control protocol–based traffic aggregation technologies at the L3 network level. The standardization of 3rd Generation Partnership Project Release 16, which is scheduled to be completed by 2020, is under progress to support the traffic aggregation technology at the L3 network level through a multi-access 5G network. Multipath transmission control protocol is also considered as a traffic aggregation technology. However, it is difficult to apply the multipath transmission control protocol employment model used in long-term evolution to the 5G network structure as it is due to the change to a common core architecture that accommodates multiple radio access technologies through one common interface. Therefore, this article proposes an optimal 5G system architecture and a multipath transmission control protocol adaptation method to support the access traffic steering function based on multipath transmission control protocol in a 3rd Generation Partnership Project 5G mobile communication network. We have verified the development of the multipath transmission control protocol–based multi-access traffic steering technology by implementing the proposed solution in a commercial server on a testbed based on the 5G system standard of 3rd Generation Partnership Project Release 15. Furthermore, this article defines problems that occur when implementing the multipath transmission control protocol–based multi-access traffic steering system and proposes relevant solutions. Based on the implementation results, it is demonstrated that the proposed multipath transmission control protocol–based multi-access traffic steering system can perform traffic steering in the 3rd Generation Partnership Project 5G network.

Résumé :
<span>The technology of radio over fiber (RoF) regard a crucial point to solve problems in wireless communication system. As well as, the growth of internet applications also reveals a tremendous increase in bandwidth for different applications. Therefore, the development of optical networks is very important that have maximum bandwidth by using different multiple access techniques. Optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) technique has considered as a good solution for high bandwidth network. Hybrid optical systems of OCDMA and time division multiplexing (OTDM) has been proposed in this paper to increase the number of simultaneous users. The results of hybrid OCDMA and OTDM system demonstrate that this system can make a considerable increase in the network scalability while ensuring sufficient data rate and an acceptable bit error rate. Where M-user OCDMA signals can be transmitted in different channels of an OTDM system. Due to its wide band facility compared with other access techniques, OCDMA used here. In addition to its high scalability for our radio network, the OTDM and SCM utilized. The combination of these efficient access technique and powerful time-sharing media are lead to increase the framework system scalability.</span>

Résumé :
Free space optic (FSO) is now a well-established access technology that commonly start using in wireless data transmission because of its large advantage like cost effective and Line-Of-Sight (LOS) permission which lead this technology to be more secure and get own to everyone. While radio frequency (RF) travels using optical fiber through weather atmospheric, large phenomena like (Rain-fog/haze-snow and temperature) works to block laser beam from reaching its receiver. Optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) is a hot topic due to its large advantage such as permitting large number of user to transmit large amount of data using single optical laser beam , but multiple users share single laser beam lead to increase multiple access interference (MAI) which primary deteriorates the performance of OCDMA. Sub-Carrier Multiplexing (SCM) is used in the system to multiplex multiple data stream on single laser beam. Spectral Amplitude Coding (SAC) technique used to enhance FSO signal by allocate own spectrum to each user, this technique generate code called Multi-Diagonal (MD) code that allow zero interaction between user data. This paper focused on the effect of snowy weather in north of Iraq on the FSO signal by using (SCM-SAC-OCDMA) based on multi-diagonal code and determined the distance between the transverse with approach bit error rate (BER) in the receiver side. Based on the system result data can travel through [0.4 - 4] Km as transmission distance under different snow rate with BER between [].

Résumé :
Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has become the key technology in the future 5G wireless networks. It can achieve multi-user multiplexing in the transmit power domain by allocating different power, which can effectively improve the system capacity and spectral efficiency. Aiming at the problem of high computational complexity and improving system capacity in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) based on orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) for 5G wireless cellular networks, this paper proposes an improved low complexity radio resource allocation algorithm for user grouping and power allocation optimization. The optimization model is established with the goal of maximizing system capacity. Through the step-by-step optimization idea, the complex non-convex optimization problem is decomposed into two sub-problems to be solved separately. Firstly, all users are grouped based on the greedy method, and then the power allocation is performed on the sub-carriers of the fixed group. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better system capacity than the existing state-of-the-art algorithms and reduced complexity performance.

Résumé :
With the rapid development of wireless sensor network technology, more and more researchers have been interested in taking advantages of wireless sensor network to reduce weight and cost and to solve the installing problem of the wired structural health monitoring systems. A number of wireless-based structural health monitoring methods have been developed over the years to ensure the safety of large-scale structures. However, little research has been reported on wireless impact monitoring of large-scale composite structures due to the limitations of ordinary monitoring methods and wireless sensor networks. In this article, a wireless multi-radio sink which can access multiple communication channels is developed and adopted to build an impact monitoring wireless sensor network. Besides, a corresponding network architecture with an energy-weighted factor–based localization method adopted is presented to enable impact localization within the whole monitoring scope of the network. To verify the performance of the impact monitoring wireless sensor network, the experiments are performed on complex aircraft composite structures and the experimental results prove the effectiveness of the proposed wireless sensor network.
