The article is devoted to three directions of oriental architecture – cult, palace and park. Its main part concerns the architecture of the Budapest synagogues. As an example of Russian orientalism, the phenomenon of Black Sea palaces of the highest St. Petersburg aristocracy is given. The Hungarian masterpiece of park oriental architecture, the elephant house in the zoo of Budapest, is analyzed.
