Carles Riba, one of the most relevant personalities in Catalan letters, not only as a poet but also as a linguist, has been considered a difficult writer. This book aims to examine how his theoretical preparation and his ideas in linguistics influenced his work in the particular case of some early stories in which he tries “uns utilíssims exercicis de simplicitat”. Carles Riba did not present his linguistic theories in a single text in a complete and articulated way but we can evaluate them in various papers he wrote and published up until his death in 1959. The first part of this work, after an introduction which sets the author in the context of European linguistics, is a review of the ideas that can be found in the collections of essays: Escolis i altres articles (1921), Els marges (1927), Per comprendre (1937), ... més els poemes (1957), and in a few other particularly interesting papers.This part focuses also on some of the controversies in which Carles Riba is involved as a linguist during the spanish dictatorship: especially his role on the publication of the second edition of Pompeu Fabra’s dictionary in 1954 and the consequences of the prologue he wrote for the volume. Joan Coromines considers an attack on the linguist Pompeu Fabra the negative comparison Riba proposes with the honnête homme: in our research we re-evaluate this consideration and analyse the historical and semantic value of this expression belonging to 17th-century French culture.The second part of this paper is a strictly linguistic analysis of three texts, chosen among Carles Riba’s works for children. The interest of those texts is in the author’s deliberate intent of using the most simple language, which enables us to determine what he considers the basic aspects of linguistic quality. Furthermore, the existence of different editions of those texts permits a philological analysis of those versions showing Carles Riba’s ‘simple’ language in three very representative moments, from the beginning of his career as a writer to the difficult situation during the dictatorship.

Humans have been part of the Earth’s history for a very short time, but our impact on the world around us has been considerable. The two major moments of accelerations of human impact were the development of agriculture and the Industrial Revolution. ‘Origins’ explains how they laid the foundations for concern about the sustainability of ways of life. The 1970s saw a growing awareness that negative environmental impacts might be a result of a mistaken whole development path, rather than local and isolated difficulties. An environmental political movement coalescing around those problems offered an alternative political platform, which has made a dramatic impact on politics in many ways and at many levels.

This chapter examines why joy and other positive emotions have largely been neglected by scholars, while suggesting that there are rich opportunities for greater historical understanding in this realm. It identifies some particular moments in the past when examinations of joy are particularly revealing, leaving the further task of more systematically exploring wider changes and regional diversities as challenges for the future. To do so, the chapter provides an anecdotal account as the basis for presenting a soft conjecture—that the history of emotions does suffer from a negative bias. Furthermore, the chapter considers a number of the reasons why it might actually be true, before then pondering some of the consequences and entertaining some possible remedies.

Hegels Begriff der Freiheit, zugleich Fundament und Schlussstein des Gebäudes einer Philosophie, wird oft als Signatur der problematischen Konstellation "Moderne" gelesen, die Hegel nach eigenem Anspruch mit seiner Philosophie "in Begriffe fassen" wollte. Hegels Werk ist durchzogen von "falschen" oder irrtümlichen Vorstellungen, die sich Subjekte und Kollektive von Freiheit machen können, so dass man sagen kann, Hegel habe mehr Zeit und Mühe in die Kritik zu kurz greifender Freiheitsbegriffe als auf die Ausarbeitung eines positiven Begriffs moderner Freiheit verwandt. Dies nicht einfach nur deshalb, weil Kritik eine wesentliche Aufgabe der Arbeit des Negativen und damit des Begriffs darstellt, sondern weil diese Irrtümer auch wesentliche Momente der modernen Idee der Freiheit sind. Die in diesem Band versammelten Beiträge diskutieren zentrale Formen der in Hegels Augen unvollständigen Momente der modernen Freiheit in Recht, Moral, Kunst und Religion und werfen die Frage nach den Bedingungen und Grenzen von Hegels Freiheitsbegriff auf.

This chapter shows how three heroic paradigms (Helen, Achilles, and the couple Peleus and Thetis) function in wedding and love poetry. The flexibility of their myths allows for both positive and negative presentations in different contexts. Helen, as the most beautiful woman, serves as a model for both brides and mistresses. Her ability to arouse desire and her willingness to follow her longings make her a complicated ideal. Achilles is equally complex as an archetypal young warrior, albeit one without a stable union who often brings death to his paramours. Peleus and Thetis, the parents of Achilles, are famed for their glorious wedding, yet do not go on to become devoted husband and wife. Weddings glamorize fleeting moments of excellence, but the discourse of love poetry shows how fragile these models can be.

This chapter explores the image Plutarch created of the end of Athenian Democracy. Its aim is to show that Plutarch conceived of this end through the lens of the theatre, and to explore the origins of this portrayal. It makes this argument through close study of the intersection of theatre and politics in Plutarch’s Life of Phocion. Plutarch expresses the political significance of crucial moments by drawing attention to their theatrical dimension. Theatrical venues, self-presentation, staging, speech, and props are used in order to create an emotional impact on an Athenian audience. Since Plutarch understood theatre in (mostly) Platonic terms, this evaluation is negative. He wishes to depict an Athenian society predisposed to strong emotion, ready to welcome an exuberant tyrant with open arms despite its previous democratic values.

Solvent form examines the destruction of art—through objects that have been destroyed (lost in fires, floods, vandalism, or similarly those artists that actively court or represent this destruction, such as Gustav Metzger), but also as a process within art that the object courts through form. In this manner, Solvent form looks to events such as the Momart warehouse fire in 2004 as well as the actions of art thief Stéphane Breitwieser in which the stolen work was destroyed. Against this overlay, a tendency is mapped whereby individuals attempt to conceptually gather these destroyed or lost objects, to somehow recoup in their absence. From this vantage, Solvent form—hinging on the dual meaning in the words solvent and solvency—proposes an idea of art as an attempt to secure and fix, which correspondingly undoes and destroys through its inception. It also weaves a narrative of art that intermingles with Jean Baudrillard’s ideas on disappearance, Georges Bataille and Paul Virilio’s negative or reverse miracle, Jean-Luc Nancy’s concept of the image (or imago as votive that keeps present the past, yet also burns), and Giorgio Agamben’s notion of art as an attempt to make the moment appear permeable. Likewise, it is through these destructions that one might distinguish a solvency within art and catch an operation in which something is made visible through these moments of destruction when art’s metaphorical undoing emerges as oddly literal.

Chapter 2 presents the central research questions that drive the theoretical and empirical work of the book, outlines the “moments of social transformation” model used for analyzing human rights realization, and positions the book in relation to theoretical and contemporary policy debates. The chapter synthesizes the literatures on socioeconomic human rights fulfillment and the human right to water and sanitation. It introduces two key elements for implementing human rights: political will and state capacity, as well as some obstacles to rights realization, including lack of strong regulatory frameworks and accountability mechanisms. The chapter explores the tensions between markets and rights, finding that neoliberal approaches to water policy have a negative effect on rights fulfillment by weakening the state’s role, and it engages with critiques that the human rights frame is too narrow and vague to facilitate transformative change in the water sector.

Spontaneous thoughts occur by default in the interstices between directed, task-oriented thoughts or moments of perceptual scrutiny. Their contents are overwhelmingly related to thinkers’ current goals, either directly or indirectly via associative networks, including past and future goals. Their evocation is accompanied by emotional responses that vary widely in type, valence, and intensity. Given these properties of thought flow, spontaneous thoughts are highly adaptive as (1) reminders of the individual’s larger agenda of goals while occupied with pursuing any one of them, (2) promotion of planning for future goal pursuits, (3) deeper understanding of past goal-related experiences, and (4) development of creative solutions to problems in goal pursuit. The same mechanisms may occasion repetitive but unproductive thoughts about the pursuit, the consequences of the failure, or the self, and strong negative emotions steering the train of thought may lead to narrowing of its focus, thus producing rumination.

Chapter 2 describes experiments searching for CP symmetry violations that might account for the matter–antimatter imbalance in our universe. It describes the historical discovery of mesons and quantum-mechanical oscillations between particle and antiparticle (i.e., particle–antiparticle oscillations) in the neutral K meson and heavier meson systems. It introduces quarks and quark flavor. The chapter relates CP violation to violations of time reversal invariance that might be revealed by a spatial separation of positive and negative electric charge within or around the fundamental constituent particles of matter. It describes a halfcentury of experimental searches, including ongoing projects, for the particle electric dipole moments that would characterize such a charge separation. Technological advances (such as ultra-cold neutron beams) and theoretical concepts (such as vacuum polarization) relevant to these searches are introduced. While some CP violation has been clearly observed, its extent remains insufficient to account for the universe’s matter–antimatter imbalance.

Mao Zedong played a central role in leading the largest communist revolution in the world outside the Soviet Union and in the ‘creative developments’ or ‘Sinification’ of Marxist-Leninist orthodoxy to suit Chinese conditions. He combined the roles of Lenin and Stalin. The essay traces his rise to power in the Chinese Communist Party between the 1920s and 1949 and his career as leader of the People’s Republic of China from 1949 to 1976, looking at the part he played in key moments, including developments in the Yan’an base area from the late 1930s, the Great Leap Forward, and the Cultural Revolution. The essay examines the central ideas in Mao’s philosophy, such as the primacy of practice, contradiction, rectification, and concern with bureaucracy. It goes on to explore key debates in the historiography and asks what ‘Maoism’ really means. The personality cult around Chairman Mao culminated in outrageous veneration in the 1960s and his memory today elicits strong feelings, both positive and negative. Despite his many mistakes and towering cruelty, he is still widely respected in China, as can be seen from his appropriation in popular culture. His ideas continue to be influential in parts of Asia and Latin America and his image is still invoked by contending interests in China.

This book provides answers for the questions of the when, who, how, and what of sociopolitical change and finds solutions to the dilemmas inherent in the idea of the political subject. It introduces the idea of the moment of the limit to theorize the moment when feminist agency is possible in late capitalist societies despite the ways in which power subordinates people. It introduces the idea of the political subject-in-outline to theorize the who of sociopolitical change, which challenges political and feminist thought that aims at giving up on the subject or theorizing it as a “constantly shifting” identity. Such a political subject moves within the tension of a certain coherence (the subject) necessary to effect change, and permanent openness (the outline) necessary to counter its exclusionary character. It shows that theory and practice are equally important tools of how people can change the world, and that they must conceptualize theory and practice as never finished, but rather as ongoing projects, to become transformative. It conceptualizes a new concept of suffering that envisions what spurs on social change in the bodily moment of suffering that tells people that things should be different. It also explains the ways in which the idea of the political subject-in-outline embraces the concept of the unconscious, and rejects the language of recognition. Finally, it shows that for theorizing a mediated relationship between oppositions, people must make the unconscious link of the working classes, women, racial, and sexual minorities to the negative pole conscious.

This chapter offers an account of the ‘Vorbegriff’ or ‘preliminary conception’ in Hegel’s Encyclopedia Logic, which covers §18 to §83 in the final edition. The chapter thus covers Hegel’s account of what he means by ‘thought’; his account of the three main ways in which previous philosophers have conceived how thought may be taken to relate to things; and his brief but important distinction between the ‘moments’ of thought, which he calls the understanding, the negatively rational, and the positively rational. The chapter concludes with a consideration of what problems the text may seem to raise for Hegel and his overall project, focusing in particular on its apparent rationalism; its claim to presuppositionlessness; and its apparent suggestion that the ‘positively rational’ violates certain fundamental logical principles.

This chapter analyses the inter-state and investor-state dispute settlement disciplines included in mega-regionals, focusing on the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement and the Trans-Pacific Partnership. It argues that dispute settlement assumes a pivotal role in trade and investment negotiations, raising fundamental questions about authority and legitimacy and concerns of fragmentation. While preferences of states participating in mega-regionals coincide in agreeing on inter-state arbitration as a compliance mechanism that minimises the authority of dispute resolvers and negative effects of fragmentation in relation to the World Trade Organization, starker differences arise on investor-state dispute settlement. Whereas the EU pushes for the creation of permanent judicial bodies, other states seemingly prefer a reformed version of investor-state arbitration. The underlying clash of ideologies shapes what may become a constitutional moment for international economic law as the debates about the reform of investment dispute settlement progress.

“The Working-Class Woman and Marx: Biased Constructions” shows that Marx, a thinker whose political thought aims to challenge hierarchical oppositions, reinforces hierarchical thought in his writings on the working-class woman. This exposes that oppositions concern deep unconscious structures in capitalism that are gendered, classed, sexed, and raced. It argues that we can only theorize a mediated relationship between hierarchical oppositions (such as mind/body, theory/practice, subject, and subject/object), if we make the unconscious link of women, racial and sexual minorities as well as the working-classes to the negative pole of oppositions conscious and delink groups of people from these oppositions. This is necessary, because such links are used to justify and cover up the division of labor and exploitation along class, gender, racial, and sexual lines. This chapter also discusses the moment when working-class women can rebel against their exploitation.

Throughout the period covered by this book there have been major contrasts between different parts of Scotland: in population change, migration, nuptiality, fertility, and mortality. Across all these variables, there have also been major and most often negative contrasts with England and other parts of north-western Europe. Compared with similar areas elsewhere, these contrasts were pervasive across the country and persistent over time. This suggests that, compared with England in particular, ‘Scottish-wide effects’ have underpinned them. A number of largely Scottish-specific employment practices, social and housing policies, and local government weaknesses have been important. But, above all, a shortage of opportunities relative to expectations, occupational insecurity, slow development of new manufacturing industries, and various factors undermining confidence in the future have been crucial. Scottish population has grown in the early twenty-first century. But maintaining positive demographic momentum remains a challenge.

New drivers of Russian nationalism appeared in the 1990s, making possible either a return to imperial nationalism, as a reaction to globalisation, or, in response to ethnic conflict, a rise in ethnic nationalism. This chapter analyses the changing balance of elite and mass preferences and their influence on the choices made by the Russian government. Recently, in a sharp reversal of long-term post-Soviet trends, elite attitudes have shifted in favour of imperial projects beyond Russia’s borders. Another long-term trend has also accelerated: that of valuing military might over economic power in international relations. Anti-Muslim sentiment simmering across the Russian Federation might inspire ethnic nationalism. However, this chapter shows that mass-level attitudes towards Muslims correlate negatively with attitudes towards the USA. Given the current high levels of anti-US sentiment, the ethnic scenario seems unlikely – for the moment.

This book argues that Ricanness is a continual performance of bodily endurance against US colonialism, unfolding via aesthetic interventions in time. Uncovering what’s at stake politically for the often unwanted, colonized, racialized, and sexualized enduring body, Ricanness moves among theater, experimental video, revolutionary protest, photography, poetry, and durational performance art. Ricanness stages scenes in which the philosophical, social, and psychic merge at the site of aesthetics and temporality. Analyzing the work of artists and revolutionaries like ADÁL, Dolores “Lolita” Lebrón, Papo Colo, Pedro Pietri, and Ryan Rivera, Ricanness imagines a Rican future through the time travel extended in these artists’ and activists’ work, illustrating how they reformulate time itself through nonlinear aesthetic practices. Either stopping or waiting with time, or running from exhaustion, or dragging the spectator through dread and despair, all of these artists and activists live at the horizon of existence. Consequently, Ricanness reshifts the colonization of time and normative assumptions of death through spaces of negation, incompletion, violence, and endurance, alongside moments of pleasure and redemption. Theorizing an existential entry into the Rican future, Ricanness traverses aesthetic strategies and nonlinear time.

As visões sobre educação e ensino são trabalhadas, basicamente, a partir de dois eixos centrais, sem que isso incorra em uma perspectiva binária e negativa: o eixo do dado e o eixo do novo. Todo o aporte teórico, metodológico; todo modo e/ou modelo de abordagem, as novas tecnologias, outras práticas de saber são percebidos, na educação, como discursos que carregam um aprendizado do ontem que é negociado com o aprendizado produzido ou construído no momento do agora. A terceira versão do Conbrale trouxe consigo discussões em torno de conhecimentos e práticas relacionadas ao ensino, sustentando-se nessa perspectiva, cimentando o já construído e abrindo possibilidades para outros modos de construir um saber fazer amparado em propostas que alimentam o ideário educacional do momento. Nesse sentido, o e-book que o/a leitor/a tem em mãos aponta para uma discussão em torno desse sentido. São textos que não se acomodam nas práticas de um saber fazer aprendido e estimulado há tempos, mas que incorporam ao seu repertório de conhecimento anseios de professores/as preocupados/as com uma melhor gestão dos objetos de conhecimento e estudo que são pensados, planejados e preparados para a construção da aula junto aos alunos. Trata-se de textos elaborados no sentido de apresentar novos enfoques sobre, talvez, o mesmo item tantas vezes já questionado, mas que encontra um novo respaldo teórico a partir de outro olhar acolhido e permitido pelo momento em que o/a pesquisador/a se debruça sobre tais objetos. Assim, velhas questões de ordem gramatical, como as tratadas a partir do “se” condicional ou do uso do “tu” ou “você” vêm à tona como discussões que avançam naquilo que já é consolidado como saber de domínio dos que estudam o “fenômeno” e seus usos. Também fazendo parte desse campo semântico (gramatical), há uma discussão em torno dos operadores argumentativos. Como traço inovador, há a perspectiva de relacionar os gêneros rap e cordel (e suas bases na oralidade) às práticas de letramento, bem como, muito próximo de nós, do agora, o letramento digital versus ensino remoto. O/a leitor/a ainda encontrará discussões em torno das práticas pedagógicas e dos estágios supervisionados, todos os textos ancorados nas propostas lançadas no III Conbrale. Esperamos que todos que se interessem pelo e-book possam encontrar centelhas de ideias que acendam novos ou outros saberes em perspectiva.

The book is devoted to the remarkable phenomenon of Greek tragedy’s endurance on German stages during the last 200 years. It examines how performances of Greek tragedies since 1800 contributed to the emergence, stabilization, and transformation of the German Bildungsbürgertum’s (educated middle class) cultural identity. Its focus lies on performances that either introduced a new theatre aesthetics or a new image of ancient Greece, or both. Key here are the truly transformative moments as well as the cultural dynamics involved. In this context, the overall political situation of the 200 years between the French Revolution and the peaceful revolution of 1989 in the German Democratic Republic plays a central role. It resulted in the reunification of the two German states, both founded in 1949 in the aftermath of the Second World War and at the beginning of the cold war. What was/is the purpose and role of performances of Greek tragedies in such a political climate? Did they help to bring about changes or did they result from changes that were already taking place? Were the performances seen to be welcoming, opposing, or even negating these changes? This study supplies answers to these questions by shedding some light on the underexplored relationship between the Philhellenism and the theatromania of the German Bildungsbürgertum, which has been brought into a sharper focus in performances of ancient Greek tragedies since the beginning of the nineteenth century. In short, it attempts to understand tragedy’s endurance.

Abordar las características, variables y parámetros que comprenden las prestaciones de servicios de salud, comprometen un amplio análisis, ya que el conjunto de particularidades en torno a dichas prestaciones debe desarrollarse de manera uniforme e integral. Entre algunos de los ámbitos que involucran estas características están, son, por ejemplo, los relacionados al servicio, ¿Cómo lograr calidad de servicios, más allá de brindarle lo necesario al paciente? ¿Comprende acaso brindar servicios extrahospitalarios al entorno familiar o laboral del paciente? Resulta complejo contrastar si el servicio ofrecido, por más calidad que tenga, logra satisfacer al paciente en todas sus esferas (emocional, económica, más allá de la esfera salud-enfermedad), en esta publicación se toman en cuenta aspectos relacionados a la satisfacción como el buen trato en cuanto al personal o ambientes acogedores en cuanto a infraestructura, lo que para un paciente puede resultar una experiencia satisfactoria, probablemente para otro genere cierto nivel de insatisfacción. No se deben pasar por alto aspectos que implican razones sociales, modelos económicos, momentos políticos que inevitablemente afectan la prestación de servicio o que pueden modificar alguna de sus características o variables, lo que indiscutiblemente genera un impacto en el paciente, su entorno y sus esferas, impacto que puede ser positivo o negativo, pero que será determinante, no sólo para lograr indicadores que permitan evaluar la calidad del servicio, sino que generen la intención de plantear mejoras en virtud de los pacientes y usuarios que son la única y más valiosa razón de todos los esfuerzos del personal de salud en funciones operativas y administrativas. A ellos, los pacientes, van dedicados todos los esfuerzos de nuestra labor.

Es un enorme agrado presentar esta obra, producto de las disertaciones de expertos en áreas de ingeniería, humanidades y ciencias sociales, ciencias económicas, administrativas y contables, pedagogía, neuropsicología, comportamiento y aprendizaje; quienes de forma magistral han concentrado constructos de forma interdisciplinar para generar conocimiento de vanguardia aplicado a dichas áreas. Además de apreciar el trabajo de esta compilación, debo precisar que el mismo proporciona información sucinta de un sinnúmero de acontecimientos del quehacer organizacional, lo que permite al lector y lo invita a transitar en temas como el estrés y la depresión que afectan el estado de ánimo a profesores universitarios de la ciudad de Medellín, aportando estrategias claras para el mejoramiento del desempeño académico, la calidad de vida y la productividad de dicho grupo de estudio. También deja evidencia de cómo la telemedicina y la telepsicología se pueden convertir en estrategias útiles para prevenir y tratar las conductas depresivas que afectan al público en general, lo cual impacta en el desempeño laboral, en especial en momentos de crisis. En este momento de pandemia por Covid-19, algunos discursos dejan entrever la necesidad de definir el rol que espera el mundo de sus líderes, desde actuar con una perspectiva humana hasta guiar participativamente en la reconfiguración del mundo globalizado con responsabilidad social e invita a que los líderes que guían las instituciones de educación superior (IES), actúen con probidad y mantengan un acercamiento con sus egresados, a fin de construir con una mirada colectiva los cambios que el sector educativo demanda actualmente. Dicha demanda ha puesto foco en la prioridad que se tiene acerca de las competencias digitales, especialmente en los docentes universitarios, y cómo estos deben ser motivados para que impacten de manera positiva en los indicadores de desempeño laboral; ya que han tenido que responder de manera emergente con la llegada del Covid-19 al mundo. Por otro lado, han dejado evidencia acerca de cómo algunas empresas han incursionado en la construcción de plataformas que facilitan el quehacer docente, herramientas que apoyan las competencias funcionales del docente y, a su vez, ayudan a mitigar el síndrome de Burnout en los principales actores del ecosistema educativo. Se exhibe otro discurso sobre las formas poco equitativas e igualitarias a la que la comunidad LGBTI se ha visto enfrentada a la hora de buscar empleo en Medellín, discurso que pretende dejar prueba de las razones por las cuales la comunidad LGBTI sufre discriminación y es vulnerada. En cuanto a características grupales, la generación “Y” o generación millennials, no escaparon de la mirada investigativa, y se les relacionaron sus características neurocognitivas con la capacidad para el diseño, ejecución y seguimiento de los procesos empresariales a pesar de su inestabilidad laboral, la cual suma de manera importante al indicador rotación de personal de las organizaciones. En otro contexto, y no menos importante, se da prueba de las implicaciones legales negativas y los efectos en la consecución de recursos monetarios que una microempresa puede encarar por la no adopción de las normas internacionales de información financiera (NIIF), así como de los desaciertos que las empresas en general pueden tener por no conocer los procedimientos de internacionalización y de acompañamiento que debe seguir cuando deciden exportar y crecer. Además de su sencillez, la obra permite que los lectores sin conocimientos específicos del tema puedan comprender sin mayores dificultades cómo pueden articular una serie de sugerencias, competencias, habilidades, procesos y tecnologías en sus organizaciones. Agradezco el espacio para compartir con los lectores mi sentir de la obra y poder recomendarla.

La pandemia de COVID-19 ha significado un momento de reflexión para los procesos de integración de América Latina, desbordados por su impacto y las consecuencias que trajo la falta de respuestas multilaterales, colaborativas y consensuadas y la preferencia por actuar de manera individual, prevalenciendo las soberanías nacionales sobre una actuación de soberanías compartidas. Con ello se está demostrando que en lo institucional se encuentra una de las mayores falencias y debilidades de la integración latinoamericana, a lo que se agrega la falta de liderazgo tan necesario en circunstancias como estas. América Latina no ha actuado de manera colaborativa, a pesar de contar con tantos elementos de identidad compartida entre sus países. Este individualismo les ha restado posibilidades de aprovechar mejor la ayuda internacional. Al comparar lo adelantado en países de otros continentes, se observa una reacción multilateral, por ejemplo, en la Unión Europea, e incluso una mayor coordinación en el continente africano, lo que les permite aprovechar mejor las acciones de cooperación adelantadas, en este caso, por China. Aunque hubo al comienzo algún retraso en la reacción de la Unión Europea, finalmente se dio aprobación a un paquete de medidas económicas de gran magnitud que le permitirá a muchos de sus miembros sortear más eficazmente los impactos negativos de la pandemia. En materia de liderazgo, el eje francoalemán y el comportamiento de un Estado federal como Alemania es también fuente de lecciones positivas. En Latinoamérica, solo el proceso centroamericano de integración ha tenido un accionar más grupal y colaborativo, mientras en procesos como el Mercosur es clara la necesidad de introducir profundas reformas que aclaren el rumbo del proceso e incorporen en este y demás procesos de integración elementos indispensables para la pospandemia como el trabajo mancomunado, multilateral y solidario.

Media coverage does not ebb and flow. Rather, media coverage rapidly moves from crisis to stasis and back again. The result of these attention dynamics is news reporting that is disproportional to the breadth and pace of policy problems in the world, where some balloon in the news beyond expectations and others fade quickly (or never make the news at all). These patterns of news coverage result from the powerful role that momentum plays in the news-generation process. Forces of positive feedback drive news outlets to chase each new hot story quickly, while negative feedback forces drive news outlets to stay locked onto a hot story at hand. Together, these forces drive news coverage to lurch and fixate, lurch and fixate, again and again. Thus, although previous research has conceived of the news-generation process functioning either as a “patrol” system (where news outlets act as sentinels, tracking each policy problem as it unfolds in the world) or as an “alarm” system (where news outlets move in quick bursts from one policy problem to the next, with little to no in-depth coverage), both these previous models tell only half the story. Rather, the news-generation process is best understood through the alarm/patrol hybrid model, where news outlets often lurch from one hot item to the next but sometimes become entrenched in an unfolding storyline. The alarm/patrol hybrid model helps explain the particular phenomenon of “media storms” that can occur, where a sudden surge in media attention can vault a previously ignored issue into the center of public and political attention; think of the Catholic priest abuse scandal, or the scene in Ferguson, Missouri, after Michael Brown’s death. The lurching/fixating dynamics of media attention have far-ranging implications for citizen information and political response, contributing to a wider system of disproportionate information processing where some topics are attended to and others are largely ignored. In particular, because policymakers take so many of their cues from the news, it is likely the case that the lurching/fixating patterns of our media system exacerbate the punctuated patterns of government in turn.

Antes de efetuar a apresentação do volume em questão, deve-se considerar que por ser a Administração uma ciência que consiste em gerenciar, estudar e sistematizar as práticas usadas para conduzir processos empresariais, tendo como escopo uma linhagem social, pois estuda as relações de eficiência através do ato de administrar ou gerir negócios, pessoas ou recursos, com o objetivo de alcançar metas definidas. Por não levarem em conta os impactos sociais que podem surgir diante dos processos decisórios empresariais efetuados, muitas falhas podem surgir e resultar em impactos negativos aos “olhos” do cenário mercadológico. Em seu amplo estudo administrativo as políticas governamentais adotadas acabam estendendo-se para outras partes do contexto social os quais não foram inseridos em momentos decisórios da formulação e aplicação de destas. Percebe-se que é de extrema relevância a inserção de questões que englobem aspectos sociais, ambientais, que envolvam: relações interpessoais, empreendedorismo, Instituições de Ensino Superior Públicas e Privadas, Pandemia, Hábitos de Consumo e Impactos Econômicos; no sentido de constituir uma sociedade que preze por justiça, igualdade, seja bem-sucedida e neste sentido, organizada. Diante dos contextos apresentados, o objetivo deste livro é a condensação de extraordinários estudos envolvendo a sociedade e o setor empresarial de forma conjunta através de ferramentas que a abordagem administrativa propicia. La Educación Física es hoy más importante que nunca. Nuestros estudiantes viven en un mundo que conspira para alejarlos de un ejercicio físico saludable para su cuerpo. Se enfrentan a fuertes tentaciones como los medios de comunicación, jugar a videojuegos y conectarse con otros a través de las redes sociales. Al mismo tiempo, las políticas y los recursos educativos se centran principalmente en objetivos cognitivos estrictamente definidos, como el avance del aprendizaje STEM (Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería y Matemáticas) o la obtención de las puntuaciones más altas en pruebas estandarizadas. Todas estas son actividades sedentarias e intelectuales que implican poca actividad física. Y mientras estos jóvenes son inactivos, los especialistas en marketing les presionan para que consuman comida rápida y bebidas azucaradas, lo que conduce a una obesidad creciente en los países desarrollados. Los publicistas también focalizan en la imagen personal de los jóvenes, cultivando ideales corporales poco realistas e incluso poco saludables, que a menudo crean inseguridad e insatisfacción con el propio físico. En resumen, estamos ante una era en la que los estudiantes necesitan especialmente apoyos educativos para comprender, ejercitar y apreciar su naturaleza física. Estos son objetivos que una Educación Física de calidad debería lograr. La Educación Física debe despertar el interés por la actividad física y el deseo de participar y mejorar. Debe entusiasmar a los estudiantes para progresar y ser físicamente más activos y capaces, independientemente de su punto de partida. Debe crear interés y motivación para que el alumnado sea activo fuera de las clases de Educación Física, en la vida diaria. Teniendo en cuenta la competencia que hay para captar la atención e interés de los estudiantes, estas no son tareas fáciles. Esto nos lleva a destacar la importancia de este libro en el que se presentan con detalle técnicas y modelos contemporáneos para motivar a los estudiantes en Educación Física. Basándose en la teoría de la autodeterminación, los diferentes capítulos se centran especialmente en cómo aumentar el interés, el aprendizaje y el valor de las actividades en Educación Física. Como muestran los autores desde diferentes perspectivas, se puede fomentar la participación autónoma o “voluntaria” en Educación Física si proporcionamos el clima y las estrategias adecuadas para la enseñanza. Idealmente, si catalizamos esta participación activa en clase también se transferirá a la vida fuera de la escuela, ya que el propósito central de la Educación Física debe ser ayudar a los estudiantes a desarrollar un estilo de vida activo para toda la vida. Sabemos que las clases de Educación Física, al menos como se impartían tradicionalmente, no solían cumplir con estos objetivos. De hecho, las experiencias de muchos estudiantes en las clases tradicionales de Educación Física han sido desalentadoras. Las clases de Educación Física recompensan y nutren con demasiada frecuencia a los estudiantes que ya son más capaces motrizmente, mientras que enseñan a los demás, a través de comparaciones sociales y un feedback negativo, que la actividad física “no es para ellos”. Razón de más para implementar técnicas como las detalladas en la teoría de la autodeterminación, que focalizan en apoyar las necesidades psicológicas de los estudiantes de todos los niveles de habilidad motriz, para fomentar una experiencia agradable, desafiante, que desarrolle la curiosidad y que mejore la competencia en Educación Física. En este importante y oportuno libro, los autores muestran cómo el profesorado puede proporcionar los apoyos motivacionales necesarios para generar compromiso con la Educación Física y que este se transfiera. Se trata de la obra más completa de este tipo para el mundo hispanohablante y se espera que tenga una influencia mundial. No ha habido un momento en el que un llamamiento para mejorar la enseñanza de la Educación Física haya sido más importante, y este original e innovador libro señala el camino.

Nos últimos anos, alguns questionamentos nortearam a minha busca pelo conhecimento nas ciências do exercício e esporte. O exercício físico sempre é benéfico? O excesso de exercícios físicos entre atletas é uma realidade? Do que se trata o overtraining? Qual a diferença entre overtraining e overreaching? Deve-se evitar exercícios extremos? Há uma linha tênue entre benefícios e prejuízos modulados pelo exercício físico? O excesso de exercícios físicos entre atletas de recreação é uma realidade? O exercício físico pode apresentar “efeitos colaterais”? Qual a origem do overtraining? Quanto mais exercício, melhor? No pain, no gain? Viver SEMPRE fora da zona de conforto? Existe algum tipo de relação paradoxal com o exercício físico? Qualquer coisa é melhor do que nada? Muita coisa é melhor que qualquer coisa? Quais são os benefícios e riscos potenciais de durações prolongadas, cargas extremas e frequência alta? Como evitar o overtraining? Este livro tem o objetivo de discutir e refletir sobre essas questões. Normalmente, os debates sobre os possíveis efeitos colaterais do exercício físico acontecem em outras áreas da saúde, como a fisioterapia e medicina, por exemplo, quando são tratados assuntos envolvendo lesões e desenvolvimento de doenças por estresse acumulado e repetitivo. Ao longo da minha graduação, três cursos de pós-graduação e mestrado, raríssimos foram os professores e disciplinas que debateram sobre excesso de exercício físico. No doutorado, onde investiguei especificamente esse tema e onde surgiu o Grupo de Pesquisa sobre Excesso de Exercício (GPEEx), alguns professores chegaram a me questionar: “em um mundo com pessoas cada vez mais sedentárias, como pode você falar mal do exercício?” Esse questionamento reflete um tremendo conflito de interesse. Fazendo uma analogia, consegue imaginar se todo pesquisador e profissional da área de farmacologia partisse da premissa de que a sua fórmula seria perfeita contra determinadas doenças? Há períodos de um programa de condicionamento ou treinamento onde o excesso de estresse provocado pelo exercício físico é desejável – isso mesmo! Porém, o profissional de educação física que desconhece a linha tênue entre seus riscos e benefícios potenciais, pode prestar um desserviço. Se uma pessoa que se exercita vive cansada, lesionada, apática, inflamada e dolorida, certamente, em algum momento, ela revisará o exercício enquanto prioridade, podendo aumentar as estatísticas de abandono e sedentarismo. Dentro das ciências do exercício e esporte diversas dificuldades metodológicas limitam o avanço sobre o entendimento do tema aqui tratado. Por exemplo, experimentos com humanos devem respeitar critérios éticos que protejam o bem-estar físico e emocional das pessoas, sendo necessária a utilização de modelos animais. Além disso, infelizmente, prevalece o paradigma de que apenas atletas de elite experimentam os sintomas da síndrome do overtraining. Ainda não há sequer um consenso sobre a terminologia mais adequada para caracterizar o “descondicionamento paradoxal”. A própria literatura aponta a inexistência de um marcador único, objetivo, preciso e confiável, a partir de parâmetros fisiológicos e bioquímicos classicamente estudados, para o diagnóstico da exaustão crônica relacionada ao treinamento. Para se ter uma ideia, um comunicado especial publicado pelo Colégio Americano de Medicina do Esporte e Colégio Europeu de Ciências do Esporte, em 2013, afirma que o assunto é muitas vezes abordado de forma anedótica (evidências informais, relatos subjetivos e baseados no “ouvir falar”). O exercício físico por si só não faz milagres e uma boa execução de movimento não é garantia de sucesso. Se pensarmos que o esforço físico é mais um estímulo estressor na já agitada vida de algumas pessoas, uma importante precaução é o seu excesso. Afinal, “o estresse mata e o pior: não aparece no atestado de óbito.” Portanto, recomendações e prescrições consistentes dependem de uma melhor compreensão sobre seus mecanismos fisiológicos e funcionais. Com muita alegria, doutores, mestres, egressos dos nossos grupos de pesquisas e graduandos dedicaram parte do seu tempo precioso para propor reflexões sobre o paradoxo do excesso de exercício físico. O primeiro capítulo – PARADOXO: INATIVIDADE FÍSICA x EXCESSO DE EXERCÍCIO, serve para confrontar os dois extremos do espectro relacionado ao exercício. Sedentarismo e doenças crônicas não transmissíveis geram sofrimento, dependência funcional, gastos intangíveis e muitas mortes. Porém, cargas extremas, ao longo do tempo, podem impactar de forma negativa o funcionamento celular, gerando, inclusive, doenças crônicas não transmissíveis. No segundo capítulo – TERMOS E DEFINIÇÕES PARA O EXCESSO DE EXERCÍCIO, diferentes nomenclaturas são apresentadas, assim como possíveis condições que impactam o desenvolvimento de seus sinais e sintomas. O terceiro capítulo – PREVALÊNCIA, versa sobre a dificuldade de se encontrar estudos epidemiológicos relacionados à síndrome do overtraining entre diferentes populações. Há pesquisa mostrando que 64 % de corredores de elite já experimentaram pelo menos um episódio da síndrome. Isso é realmente muito relevante. O capítulo quatro – OVERTRAINING NO FISICULTURISMO, discute a vigorexia e diversos aspectos negativos dessa condição. O capítulo cinco – OVERTRAINING NO AMBIENTE MILITAR, reforça a necessidade de redobrar as atenções durante treinamentos extremos. O capítulo seis – ORIGEM DO OVERTRAINING: SISTEMA IMUNE, aborda um assunto que cada vez mais recebe atenção por parte da comunidade científica mundial. O sistema imunológico, na maioria dos cursos de graduação em educação física no Brasil, ainda não é trabalhado. Comentamos também resultados da minha pesquisa de doutorado, premiada no tradicional congresso brasileiro de medicina do esporte, em 2019. O capítulo sete – ORIGEM DO OVERTRAINING: ESTRESSE OXIDATIVO, explica uma importante hipótese relacionada aos possíveis efeitos colaterais do excesso de exercícios. O capítulo oito – ORIGEM DA FADIGA AGUDA: CÉREBRO, é muito importante para o entendimento da exaustão aguda, que certamente impacta a fadiga crônica. Como a percepção de cansaço é desenvolvida, estruturas críticas determinantes para a superação de limites, integração de áreas do encéfalo, controle de funções vitais. Conta com diversas informações provenientes da neurociência do exercício e serve também para refletirmos sobre dependência ao exercício, hedonismo, estado de fluxo. A intensa perturbação da homeostase é um processo comprometedor das funções fisiológicas, mas por que será que entusiastas dos esportes e atividades físicas, atletas de recreação, amadores e de elite, praticantes de modalidades “radicais” ou qualquer outra pessoa assídua nos exercícios, experimentam com frequência a sensação de exaustão e tornam a repetir, alguns diariamente, esses estímulos tão estressantes? Exercício sem prazer não favorece sua adesão, mas o vício em exercícios físicos é um tipo de dependência não química. Como trabalhar essa linha tênue? O capítulo nove – SINTOMAS CLÍNICOS DO EXCESSO DE EXERCÍCIOS, apresenta um caso concreto para discutir o monitoramento de cargas no esporte. O capítulo dez – VARIABILIDADE DA FREQUÊNCIA CARDÍACA, contextualiza uma importante e cada vez mais utilizada ferramenta biológica para ajudar a controlar a distribuição de cargas em programas de condicionamento ou treinamento. O capítulo onze – PERIODIZAÇÃO E ESTRATÉGIAS DE TREINAMENTO, serve como revisão sobre o assunto e tenta estabelecer um link entre as “atualidades” apresentadas nos capítulos anteriores e os conceitos norteadores da prescrição de clássicos autores. Finalmente, o capítulo doze – TÓPICOS ESPECIAIS: METABOLÔMICA, convida o leitor para uma área muito promissora nas ciências do exercício e esporte. Em nome de todos os colaboradores, desejo a você uma boa leitura e que o senso crítico despertado possa iluminar muitas tomadas de decisão!

Nos dias atuais, a administração (de empresas ou pública) tem assimilado conceitos e características de natureza empreendedora, que levam a mudanças de paradigmas dentro da própria área do conhecimento. Nesse limiar, a administração e o empreendedorismo se tornaram indissociáveis não apenas a nível acadêmico, mas na prática gerencial cotidiana. Com efeito, esse cenário chama a atenção dos pesquisadores e, cada vez mais, estudos são desenvolvidos com o foco em novas aplicações do conhecimento gerencial. É pensando nessa indissociabilidade, que este livro surge. Na primeira parte, “Discussões em Empreendedorismo”, abordam-se questões relacionadas conceitualmente e empiricamente ao empreendedorismo e à inovação, compreendendo o contexto empresarial e mercadológico em 7 capítulos. O Capítulo 1, “Barreiras e Facilitadores ao Empreendedorismo: Aspectos Teóricos e Instrumentação”, apresenta uma medida psicométrica inédita que mapeia a capacidade de desenvolvimento empreendedor individual a partir da identificação das principais barreiras (inibidores) e facilitadores (incentivadores). O Capítulo 2, “Aversión Al Riesgo de Fracasar al Emprender un Negocio en México: Un Acercamiento con algunos Factores Educativos” (em tradução livre, Aversão ao Risco de Fracassar ao abrir um Negócio no México: Uma abordagem com alguns Fatores Educacionais), traz um estudo desenvolvido no México que relaciona a baixa escolaridade, a falta de acesso à educação e, consequentemente, a dificuldade de inserção no mercado de trabalho como condicionantes para a intenção de empreender. Trazendo dados demográficos e socioeconômicos, o estudo contribui com uma discussão extremamente pertinente para a compreensão do empreendedorismo por necessidade e seu impacto direto no desenvolvimento produtivo local – um cenário muito semelhante ao contexto brasileiro. O Capítulo 3, “A Importância da Gestão em Tempos de Crises: Uma Reflexão sobre a Pandemia da Covid-19”, trata de uma temática emergente e, por meio de uma interessante revisão de literatura, destaca práticas e ações a nível gerencial que impactam diretamente a vida nas organizações no momento pandêmico. Nos Capítulos 4 e 5, “Financiamento para Inovação: Pontos Positivos e Negativos do Crowdfunding” e “Financiamento da Inovação por Meio do Crowdfunding: Fatores de Sucesso”, descrevem os principais pontos (positivos e negativos) da prática de financiamentos coletivos ou crowdfunding, por meio de uma análise focada na inovação tecnológica. Os capítulos trazem contribuições principalmente para micro e pequenas empresas que atuam com inovação e necessitam superar dificuldades de acesso a recursos financeiros. No Capítulo 6, “Empresas Familiares: Gestão e Características Empreendedoras em Tempos de Pandemia da COVID-19”, tem-se um levantamento com gestores de empresas familiares, em que são discutidas as relações gerenciais e sociais com implicação direta no cotidiano organizacional, com um enfoque direto neste tipo de organização. Além disso, é um estudo extremamente atual, pois traz uma contextualização sobre os desafios e impactos da Pandemia da COVID-19 no mundo empresarial. O Capítulo 7, “A Liderança Feminina nas Organizações de Trabalho: Desafios e Construções Sociais”, traz uma importante discussão sobre a igualdade de gênero e os desafios que as mulheres enfrentam no mercado de trabalho e no mundo empresarial. Por meio de uma pesquisa empírica, o capítulo aponta para uma profunda reflexão sobre o enfrentamento à desigualdade que envolve, de maneira coletiva, diversas áreas do conhecimento, instâncias e organizações sociais e educacionais. Fechando a primeira parte do Livro, o Capítulo 8, “Emergencia de Nuevos Modelos de Gestión Estrategica” (em tradução livre, Surgimento de Novos Modelos de Gestão Estratégica), embarca em uma análise teórica visando responder à seguinte questão: quais novas perspectivas e modelos de gestão estratégica estão surgindo para dar suporte ao desenvolvimento das empresas na atualidade? Dentro dessa perspectiva, tem-se um estudo que discute e reflete sobre o dinamismo e a complexidade dos ambientes social, econômico, tecnológico e natural, compreendendo a influência destes ambientes nas formas de gestão e de empreendedorismo. Na segunda parte, “Processos Gerenciais e Administrativas em Foco”, este livro aborda questões relacionadas às técnicas e ferramentas gerenciais e administrativas que se aplicam às organizações privadas e públicas, compreendendo variadas áreas do ambiente organizacional em 8 capítulos. No Capítulo 8, “Abordagem de Servicescape: Análise e Influência da Experiência do Consumidor em um Ambiente de Serviço”, analisa-se a influência da servicescape (ambiente físico onde acontece o serviço) na experiência do consumidor no processo de aquisição do serviço. Por meio de um estudo bibliométrico, o capítulo aprofunda sobre o servicescape e sobre o experienscape, levando em consideração também o que tem sido produzido academicamente na temática. O Capítulo 9, “A Importância do Treinamento como Estratégia de Potencialização do Desempenho dos Colaboradores nas Organizações”, faz uma breve análise sobre Treinamento, Desenvolvimento & Educação (TD&E), identificando os fatores que tornam esse processo tão relevante para as organizações, especialmente como estratégia de potencialização do desempenho dos colaboradores. Trazendo alguns conceitos gerais sobre a temática, o capítulo traça uma relação entre o processo de treinamento a nível de gestão de pessoas e o aumento da produtividade e a redução de custos. O Capítulo 11, “Cultura Organizacional: Uma Revisão Narrativa acerca das Tipologias e Influências na Gestão”, analisa os eventuais impactos que a cultura organizacional perfaz na gestão das organizações. Compreendendo as diversas tipologias culturais existentes, o capítulo oferece uma visão da gestão da cultura organizacional em prol da eficiência e do aumento da produtividade. No Capítulo 12, intitulado “Aplicação da Teoria das Filas em uma Hamburgueria: Um Estudo de Caso”, descreve uma pesquisa empírica realizada em um restaurante, do tipo hamburgueria, abordando-se a concepção do sistema de filas. O capítulo traz resultados interessantes para a compreensão dos fatores que envolve a gestão de filas dentro um ramo de negócio em extrema expansão no Brasil, que é o mercado de hambúrgueres e lanches. A partir deste momento, o livro se foca em estudos relacionados à gestão pública, trazendo 3 estudos que, individualmente, abordam a administração a nível municipal, estadual e federal. No Capítulo 13, “A Maturidade da Gestão do Conhecimento na SEAPI – Secretaria da Agricultura, Pecuária e Irrigação do Rio Grande do Sul (RS)”, tem-se um estudo que analisa como a gestão do conhecimento está inserida no ambiente organizacional de uma secretaria de estado, fazendo um paralelo teórico-empírico com o nível de maturidade gerencial. Este capítulo contribui especialmente para o mapeamento da maturidade em gestão do conhecimento em organizações públicas, apresentando ferramentas e técnicas para este tipo de análise. No Capítulo 14, intitulado “Avaliação dos Processos Gerenciais da Prefeitura de Luis Gomes/RN à Luz do Modelo de Excelência em Gestão Pública”, abordam-se os processos administrativos e de prestação de serviços de uma prefeitura. Neste capítulo, é utilizado um modelo padrão de análise baseado em excelência, cuja principal contribuição está em propor pontos de correção nos processos gerenciais cotidianos e ações estratégicas a serem realizadas para a melhoria da prestação de serviços aos cidadãos. Dando continuidade aos estudos relacionados à gestão pública, tem-se, por fim, o Capítulo 15, “Pregão Eletrônico nas Aquisições Públicas Federais: Economia e Impactos a Luz da Normativa 03/2011”, que trata do impacto causado na economia creditada ao uso do Pregão Eletrônico, após a implementação da Instrução Normativa nº 3/2011 do Ministério do Planejamento, Orçamento e Gestão (MPOG). Nesse sentido, o capítulo traz uma análise sobre a teoria dos leilões e a dinâmica do Pregão Eletrônico, à luz das demandas e necessidades da administração pública federal. Cabe ressaltar que este livro é fruto do esforço de cooperação desenvolvido por pesquisadores de diversas Instituições nacionais e estrangeiras, em que cada estudo apresentado perfaz uma particular contribuição para a área do conhecimento. E embora não se pretenda responder a todas as questões relacionadas à Administração e ao Empreendedorismo, esta obra traz algumas reflexões e discussões atuais que podem, de algum modo, contribuir positivamente com o avanço do conhecimento e incrementar a literatura na área.

The monograph reflects the problems of Russian psycholinguistics from the moment of its inception in Russia to the present day and presents its main directions that are currently developing. In addition, theoretical developments and practical results obtained in the framework of different directions and research centers are described in a concise form. The task of the book is to reflect, as far as it is possible in one edition, firstly, the history of the formation of Russian psycholinguistics; secondly, its methodology and developed methods; thirdly, the results obtained in different research centers and directions in different regions of Russia; fourthly, to outline the main directions of the further development of Russian psycholinguistics. There is no doubt that in the theoretical, methodological and applied aspects, the main problems and the results of their development by Russian psycholinguistics have no analogues in world linguistics and psycholinguistics, or are represented by completely original concepts and methods. We have tried to show this uniqueness of the problematics and the methodological equipment of Russian psycholinguistics in this book. The main role in the formation of Russian psycholinguistics was played by the Moscow psycholinguistic school of A.A. Leontyev. It still defines the main directions of Russian psycholinguistics. Russian psycholinguistics (the theory of speech activity - TSA) is based on the achievements of Russian psychology: a cultural-historical approach to the analysis of mental phenomena L.S. Vygotsky and the system-activity approach of A.N. Leontyev. Moscow is the most "psycholinguistic region" of Russia - INL RAS, Moscow State University, Moscow State Linguistic University, RUDN, Moscow State Pedagogical University, Moscow State Pedagogical University, Sechenov University, Moscow State University and other Moscow universities. Saint Petersburg psycholinguists have significant achievements, especially in the study of neurolinguistic problems, ontolinguistics. The most important feature of Russian psycholinguistics is the widespread development of psycholinguistics in the regions, the emergence of recognized psycholinguistic research centers - St. Petersburg, Tver, Saratov, Perm, Ufa, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg, Kursk, Chelyabinsk; psycholinguistics is represented in Cherepovets, Ivanovo, Volgograd, Vyatka, Kaluga, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Vladivostok, Abakan, Maikop, Barnaul, Ulan-Ude, Yakutsk, Syktyvkar, Armavir and other cities; in Belarus - Minsk, in Ukraine - Lvov, Chernivtsi, Kharkov, in the DPR - Donetsk, in Kazakhstan - Alma-Ata, Chimkent. Our researchers work in Bulgaria, Hungary, Vietnam, China, France, Switzerland. There are Russian psycholinguists in Canada, USA, Israel, Austria and a number of other countries. All scientists from these regions and countries have contributed to the development of Russian psycholinguistics, to the development of psycholinguistic theory and methods of psycholinguistic research. Their participation has not been forgotten. We tried to present the main Russian psycholinguists in the Appendix - in the sections "Scientometrics", "Monographs and Manuals" and "Dissertations", even if there is no information about them in the Electronic Library and RSCI. The principles of including scientists in the scientometric list are presented in the Appendix. Our analysis of the content of the resulting monograph on psycholinguistic research in Russia allows us to draw preliminary conclusions about some of the distinctive features of Russian psycholinguistics: 1. cultural-historical approach to the analysis of mental phenomena of L.S.Vygotsky and the system-activity approach of A.N. Leontiev as methodological basis of Russian psycholinguistics; 2. theoretical nature of psycholinguistic research as a characteristic feature of Russian psycholinguistics. Our psycholinguistics has always built a general theory of the generation and perception of speech, mental vocabulary, linked specific research with the problems of ontogenesis, the relationship between language and thinking; 3. psycholinguistic studies of speech communication as an important subject of psycholinguistics; 4. attention to the psycholinguistic analysis of the text and the development of methods for such analysis; 5. active research into the ontogenesis of linguistic ability; 6. investigation of linguistic consciousness as one of the important subjects of psycholinguistics; 7. understanding the need to create associative dictionaries of different types as the most important practical task of psycholinguistics; 8. widespread use of psycholinguistic methods for applied purposes, active development of applied psycholinguistics. The review of the main directions of development of Russian psycholinguistics, carried out in this monograph, clearly shows that the direction associated with the study of linguistic consciousness is currently being most intensively developed in modern Russian psycholinguistics. As the practice of many years of psycholinguistic research in our country shows, the subject of study of psycholinguists is precisely linguistic consciousness - this is a part of human consciousness that is responsible for generating, understanding speech and keeping language in consciousness. Associative experiments are the core of most psycholinguistic techniques and are important both theoretically and practically. The following main areas of practical application of the results of associative experiments can be outlined. 1. Education. Associative experiments are the basis for constructing Mind Maps, one of the most promising tools for systematizing knowledge, assessing the quality, volume and nature of declarative knowledge (and using special techniques and skills). Methods based on smart maps are already widely used in teaching foreign languages, fast and deep immersion in various subject areas. 2. Information search, search optimization. The results of associative experiments can significantly improve the quality of information retrieval, its efficiency, as well as adaptability for a specific person (social group). When promoting sites (promoting them in search results), an associative experiment allows you to increase and improve the quality of the audience reached. 3. Translation studies, translation automation. An associative experiment can significantly improve the quality of translation, take into account intercultural and other social characteristics of native speakers. 4. Computational linguistics and automatic word processing. The results of associative experiments make it possible to reveal the features of a person's linguistic consciousness and contribute to the development of automatic text processing systems in a wide range of applications of natural language interfaces of computer programs and robotic solutions. 5. Advertising. The use of data on associations for specific words, slogans and texts allows you to predict and improve advertising texts. 6. Social relationships. The analysis of texts using the data of associative experiments makes it possible to assess the tonality of messages (negative / positive moods, aggression and other characteristics) based on user comments on the Internet and social networks, in the press in various projections (by individuals, events, organizations, etc.) from various social angles, to diagnose the formation of extremist ideas. 7. Content control and protection of personal data. Associative experiments improve the quality of content detection and filtering by identifying associative fields in areas subject to age restrictions, personal information, tobacco and alcohol advertising, incitement to ethnic hatred, etc. 8. Gender and individual differences. The data of associative experiments can be used to compare the reactions (and, in general, other features of thinking) between men and women, different social and age groups, representatives of different regions. The directions for the further development of Russian psycholinguistics from the standpoint of the current state of psycholinguistic science in the country are seen by us, first of all:  in the development of research in various areas of linguistic consciousness, which will contribute to the development of an important concept of speech as a verbal model of non-linguistic consciousness, in which knowledge revealed by social practice and assigned by each member of society during its inculturation is consolidated for society and on its behalf;  in the expansion of the problematics, which is formed under the influence of the growing intercultural communication in the world community, which inevitably involves the speech behavior of natural and artificial bilinguals in the new object area of psycholinguistics;  in using the capabilities of national linguistic corpora in the interests of researchers studying the functioning of non-linguistic and linguistic consciousness in speech processes;  in expanding research on the semantic perception of multimodal texts, the scope of which has greatly expanded in connection with the spread of the Internet as a means of communication in the life of modern society;  in the inclusion of the problems of professional communication and professional activity in the object area of psycholinguistics in connection with the introduction of information technologies into public practice, entailing the emergence of new professions and new features of the professional ethos;  in the further development of the theory of the mental lexicon (identifying the role of different types of knowledge in its formation and functioning, the role of the word as a unit of the mental lexicon in the formation of the image of the world, as well as the role of the natural / internal metalanguage and its specificity in speech activity);  in the broad development of associative lexicography, which will meet the most diverse needs of society and cognitive sciences. The development of associative lexicography may lead to the emergence of such disciplines as associative typology, associative variantology, associative axiology;  in expanding the spheres of applied use of psycholinguistics in social sciences, sociology, semasiology, lexicography, in the study of the brain, linguodidactics, medicine, etc. This book is a kind of summarizing result of the development of Russian psycholinguistics today. Each section provides a bibliography of studies on the relevant issue. The Appendix contains the scientometrics of leading Russian psycholinguists, basic monographs, psycholinguistic textbooks and dissertations defended in psycholinguistics. The content of the publications presented here is convincing evidence of the relevance of psycholinguistic topics and the effectiveness of the development of psycholinguistic problems in Russia.
