A new subspecies of Stachys cretica (Lamiaceae) from Turkey, Stachys cretica subsp. gulendamiana, is described and its relationships with allied subspecies is discussed. The new subspecies is characterized by having decumbent flowering stems. Stachys cretica subsp. gulendamiana is similar to S. cretica subsp. anatolica, but it differs mainly by its marine sandy habitat, indumentum adpressed white lanate—tomentose, flowering stems decumbent, basal leaves undulate, nutlets dull, greyish—brown. Plesioneuron crassum subsp. chromeanum Takeuchi (Thelypteridaceae) is described as a new subspecies from one of Papuasia's most isolated karst districts. The subspecies is distinguished by bifacially glabrous pinnae with revolute lobes, conspicuously raised aerophores, and glandular-setiferous sporangia. Distributional records for Helicia acutifolia (Proteaceae) and Loranthus odoratus (Loranthaceae) are also reported with the new fern.

The new genus Tanycythere (Crustacea, Ostracoda) is described from the Jurassic (Hettangian–Bathonian) of western and central Europe based on T. caudata new species, T. praecaudata praecaudata new subspecies, T. praecaudata parallela new subspecies, T. duartei new species, T. posteroelongata new species, and T. wattonensis new species. Another new species, T. procera, is described from the Lower Cretaceous (?Barremian).
