Due to its availability, cheapness and comfortable size for experimental use the bovine eye provides an attractive model for conducting perfusion experiments. Resveratrol, a polyphenol present in red wine and peanuts exerts an array of beneficial effects, including anticancer activity and calorie restriction (CR) mimicry.
