Résumé :

Résumé :
Changes in magmatism and sedimentation along the late Neoproterozoic-early Paleozoic Ross orogenic belt in Antarctica have been linked to the cessation of convergence along the Mozambique belt during the assembly of East-West Gondwana. However, these interpretations are non-unique and are based, in part, on limited thermochronological data sets spread out along large sectors of the East Antarctic margin. We report new 40Ar/39Ar hornblende, muscovite, and biotite age data for plutonic (n = 13) and metasedimentary (n = 3) samples from the Shackleton–Liv Glacier sector of the Queen Maud Mountains

AbstractBackground and objectivesUnmyelinated C-fibres comprise the largest group of somatic afferents and have demonstrated a crucial role not only in the perception of high-threshold mechanically, thermally or chemically induced pain, but also in non-harmful low-threshold mechanical stimuli [1,2]. The objective of our study was to characterize differential sensitivity changes of C-fibre related subclasses of high-threshold and low-threshold polymodal nociceptors and low-threshold mechanoreceptors to the local anaesthetic (LA) mepivacaine during nerve block of the purely sensory lateral femor

The article examines the metaphorized aspects of the attributive semantics associated with the peculiarities of conceptualizing various features of food. The authors typologize attributes that are the basis of metaphorical projections of the gastronomic sphere phenomena onto a wide range of concepts from various target areas (thinking, psyche, social life phenomena, various objects of the physical world). The analysis of trends and aspects of food features metaphorization in Russian is presented on the material of figurative lexical and phraseological units. Food attributes are classified base

Résumé :
The production of Cu-Zn from volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposits in the eastern Pontides began in the early 1900s, with the exploitation of high-grade ores scattered across the district. The district still possesses economically important blind VMS and associated sulfide deposits. Careful descriptive documentation of the typical features of these VMS ores illustrated the geological characteristics that are important in identifying ore localities and can be used to define exploration targets. The eastern Pontide VMS deposits are examples of volcanic-hosted massive sulfide deposits that

ABSTRACT: The present work aims to characterize the Neo-Jurassic to Neocomian succession of the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin, located in northeast region of Brazil, in order to discover the influence of tectonics on sedimentation in detailed scale and thus separating this sedimentary succession in tectono-stratigraphic units. Fieldwork observations and stratigraphic sections analysis allowed subdividing this rift succession into three depositional units that indicate different paleogeographic contexts. Unit I, equivalent to the top of Serraria Formation, is characterized by braided fluvial channel de

Résumé :
Abstract On relational structures and on polymodal logics, we describe operations which preserve local tabularity. This provides new sufficient semantic and axiomatic conditions for local tabularity of a modal logic. The main results are the following. We show that local tabularity does not depend on reflexivity. Namely, given a class $\mathcal {F}$ of frames, consider the class $\mathcal {F}^{\mathrm {r}}$ of frames, where the reflexive closure operation was applied to each relation in every frame in $\mathcal {F}$ . We show that if the logic of $\mathcal {F}^{\mathrm {r}}$ is locally tabular

Neurons display unique shapes and establish intricate networks, which may differ between sexes. In complex organisms, studying sex differences in structure and function of individual neurons is difficult. The nematode Caenorhabditis elegans hermaphrodites and males present an exceptional model for studying neuronal morphogenesis in a simple, sexually dimorphic system. We focus on the polymodal sensory bilateral neuron pair PVD, which forms a complex but stereotypic dendritic tree composed of multiple subunits that resemble candelabra. PVD is well studied in hermaphrodites, but not in males. We

Abstract In this article, novel geochronological (U–Pb SHRIMP) and geochemical data are presented from the lowermost sandstone unit (Par formation), basement granites of Gwalior Basin and sandstones from the Bhopal Basin, located along margins of the Archaean Bundelkhand Craton. The geochemical variation diagrams imply that sandstone units in the Gwalior and Bhopal Basins were deposited in rift-induced passive margin tectonic settings. In contrast to the magmatic features that are preserved in the zircons of granite of the Gwalior Basins, detrital zircons from sandstones of both basins are fra

AbstractPeralkaline rhyolites are a rare magma type, typically associated with continental rift settings, and characterised by excess alkalis relative to alumina and a moderate-low viscosity compared to calc-alkaline equivalents. Despite their prevalence in extensional rift settings, such as the Main Ethiopian Rift, eruption dynamics of peralkaline magmas are poorly understood and have never been directly observed. To address the knowledge gap, this study investigates the style and dynamics of the ~ 87 ka explosive eruption at Baricha volcano as a case study. This eruption deposited widespread

Abstract Carbonates exhibits diverse flow characteristics at pore scale. Petrographic study reveals micro-level heterogeneities. Thin sections are key to assess reservoir quality although these are images and interpretations in text format. Thin section microscopic analysis is descriptive and subjective. To an extent, optical point counting is routinely used quantitatively to estimate porosity, cement, and granular features. Overall, thin section descriptions require specialist human skill and an extensive effort, as it is repetitive and time consuming. Thus, a manual process limits the overal
