Résumé :
Post-trauma dreams are sufficiently different from the usual symbolic nightmare to merit particular attention. Two examples are given: one from Shakespeare, and another from the author's experience. Characteristic patterns are summarised, based on research by Hartmann, Siegel, and Stoddard et. al, indicating the normal process by which such dreams evolve into nightmares. Guidelines are suggested for dreamwork to assist clients' recovery, including taking note of the 'stuck points' signalled by repetitive elements in their dreams, and underlying issues in their philosophy of life.

Résumé :
http://ijmss.uautonoma.cl/en/abstract/?art_id=Sialocele is a collection of saliva in the tissues surrounding the duct of the gland or parenchyma without proper drainage. The most common cause is the extravasation of saliva product to a disruption of the parenchyma or parotid duct secondary to a cutting trauma. If sialocele treatment is not performed in a timely manner it can generate an external fistula, facial scars and secondary infections. Male admitted to hospital with multiple facial fractures. After the reduction of edema, continued increased volume in the preauricular region localized, fluctuating, oval. The skin was asymptomatic, without secretions, with impairment of motor and sensory function in the right genial region. The aspiration of the increase in volume under a hypothesized hematoma was performed. After 2 days recurred. A tomography scan was requested and returned to realize the aspiration of which was sent to cytological exam. The diagnosis was post-trauma sialocele parotid and was performed emptying the contents and drainage type penrose intraoral. Was control the next day without relapses and the drain was removed after 2 months. It ́s important to know that can generate a post-trauma sialocele without necessarily cutting trauma.

Résumé :
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the proportion of patients admitted to a major tertiary teaching hospital in Australia aged 50 years and older with a confirmed neck of femur or vertebral minimal trauma fracture, who are commenced on colecalciferol supplementation by discharge, and to describe the doses prescribed. Methods: A subanalysis of a retrospective audit of electronic medical files for patients admitted with a minimal trauma fracture of the hip or vertebra between January 1, 2016, and June 30, 2016, was conducted. Results: A total of 406 patients were screened and 64 patients were included in the audit. In this subanalysis of these 64 patients eligible for inclusion, 38 were not on any vitamin or mineral supplementation at admission. Of these, 26 patients (68.4%) had their serum colecalciferol levels measured, and 21 patients (55.2%) overall were initiated on colecalciferol. Conclusion: Over half of patients with a minimal trauma fracture were commenced on colecalciferol therapy, but a noteworthy proportion of patients remain untreated. Patients with colecalciferol levels are more likely to be initiated on therapy compared with those of whom levels were not taken during admission. This is a missed opportunity for intervention that may place patients at a higher risk of subsequent fracture; therefore, effective strategies should be implemented to address this treatment gap in the future.

Résumé :
What biblical critical insights might re-reading the Song of Songs through its contemporary musical afterlives produce? I propose that certain offbeat musical settings of the Song participate in the discursive composition of specifically postmodern versions of love (e.g. those of Berlant, Belsey, Illouz), and thereby disrupt the transmission of normalizing socio-romantic energies within what Lauren Berlant calls “the intimate public sphere.” In this intertextual case study, Ralph Vaughan Williams’ 1925Flos campi– a work usually praised for its harmonious reconciliation of sensual and spiritual musical moods and idioms – becomes a dystopic allegory of postmodern love. Gestating during WWI as Vaughan Williams served in France and Greece, then composed during a post-war decade of collective disenchantment with the Great War’s socio-political balance sheet,Flos campiconstitutes an ambivalent response to both the composer’s individual as well as a more collective experience of national post-war trauma. With help from Roland Boer’s Lacanian reading of the Song (2000), I locate this ambivalence in the composer’s enigmatic treatment of musical pastoralisms and modal-tonal harmonies as well as his expressive deployment of formal, motivic, and thematic repetition. The dissonant erotic semiotics that these techniques produce inFlos campican be enlisted today to challenge religio-rhetorical co-optations of the Song to bolster heteronormative institutions of love, sexuality, marriage and family by way of the Song’s supposedly timeless message that “Love Conquers All.” Correlatively, readingFlos campias a product of post-war trauma and an allegory of postmodern love invites biblical critics to hear the text’s pastoralisms with fresh “ears.”

Résumé :
AbstractBackgroundChildhood adversity is associated with mental disorder following military deployment. However, it is unclear how different childhood trauma profiles relate to developing a post-deployment disorder. We investigated childhood trauma prospectively in determining new post-deployment probable disorder.MethodsIn total, 1009 Regular male ADF personnel from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Middle East Area of Operations (MEAO) Prospective Study provided pre- and post-deployment self-report data. Logistic regression and generalised structural equation modelling were utilised to examine associations between childhood trauma and new post-deployment probable disorder and possible mediator pathways through pre-deployment symptoms.ResultsThere were low rates of pre-deployment probable disorder. New post-deployment probable disorder was associated with childhood trauma, index deployment factors (combat role and deployment trauma) and pre-deployment symptoms but not with demographic, service or adult factors prior to the index deployment (including trauma, combat or previous deployment). Even after controlling for demographic, service and adult factors prior to the index deployment as well as index deployment trauma, childhood trauma was still a significant determinant of new post-deployment probable disorder. GSEM demonstrated that the association between interpersonal childhood trauma and new post-deployment probable disorder was fully mediated by pre-deployment symptoms. This was not the case for those who experienced childhood trauma that was not interpersonal in nature.ConclusionsTo determine the risk of developing a post-deployment disorder an understanding of the types of childhood trauma encountered is essential, and pre-deployment symptom screening alone is insufficient

Résumé :
Background: Pulmonary artery dissection is a rare condition that is usually diagnosed in patients exhibiting chronic pulmonary arterial hypertension, congenital heart abnormalities or secondary to iatrogenic injury. Diagnosis is often made at autopsy as many patients experience sudden death when the pulmonary artery dissection progresses rapidly and ruptures into the pericardium, resulting in acute cardiac tamponade. Case Presentation: We report a case of pulmonary artery dissection, which resulted from blunt thoracic trauma diagnosed in the emergency department.

Résumé :
ABSTRACT Bone-related immunology (osteoimmunology) is an interdisciplinary translational research field combining orthopaedics and immunology. This review gives an in-depth knowledge in the relationship between the bone trauma and the corresponding changes in host immune system. It also summarizes the most recent developments occuring into this complex field. It has been found that osteoblasts play important role in the maintenance of the hematopoietic stem cell niche and in lymphocyte development as well as the functions of immune cells participating in osteoblast and osteoclast development. Various recent researches are directed to establish the role of cytokines, chemokines, transcription factors and costimulatory molecules, which are shared by both skeletal and immune systems. The understanding of this part of research may open new horizons in the management of bone trauma and that of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
