Résumé :
With the maturing of artificial intelligence technology, the human-machine collaborative teaching model is gradually attracting attention. Exploration of the path and effectiveness of integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into business writing teaching is urgently needed. This study takes the use of ERNIE Bot in teaching business proposal writing as an example, collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, and discussing the methods, effects and challenges of applying LLMs in teaching business English writing in universities in China. The results show that students using ERNIE Bot as an auxiliary tool demonstrate higher participation and enthusiasm in the proposal writing process, and their writing texts have significantly improved in terms of structural clarity and language accuracy. However, it has also been found that ERNIE Bot tends to recommend conventional expressions and structures, which to a certain extent limit students’ personalized expressions. Therefore, the leading role of the instructor should not be neglected.

Résumé :
Daniel Defoe, one of the pioneers of the English novel, primarily earned his living as a journalist, pamphleteer, proposal writer, and freelance business consultant. A born entrepreneur, Defoe's many projects included promoting and marketing the first practical diving bell, designing commercial fisheries and improving London's sewer system, producing a series of popular self-help manuals, and founding and editing the first English technical writing journal, The Projector. These were the products of Defoe's indefatigable pen, and the utilitarian simplicity of his business and technical writing has strongly influenced English prose ever since. This article will examine two major pieces of Defoe's professional writing: An Essay of Projects, (1698) a portfolio of his best proposals, and the landmark The Complete English Tradesman (1725), the first English business writing manual. These and similar texts would form the loam of Defoe's great novels, Robinson Crusoe (1719), Moll Flanders (1721), and A Journal of a Plague Year (1722). While Defoe's professional writing shaped his creative writing, his gifts as a novelist—his plain, demotic style, his knack for concise narrative and analytical summary, his ability to create convincing personas through textual documentation—shaped his business writing. Both forms of writing made him the premier spokesperson of a new social and economic order.

Résumé :
Lack of capital is a major problem faced by business, especially micro small medium enterprises (MSME) segment. One of the ways to get capital is applying loan to financial institutions, mainly the banking industry. However, in the credit application process due to lack of information, most small and micro businesses have difficulties in preparing business proposals that are in accordance with banking standards. Therefore, the Service Team and the Economics and Business Application Laboratory of the Economics Faculty carry out community service activities. It performed with models and methods of mentoring and empowerment for micro and small businesses regarding writing business profiles and proposals for credit applications. There are at least 34 entrepreneurs in Ilir Barat II Sub-district South Sumatera Province who participated in this activity and were assisted in making company profiles as well as business proposals. The evaluation results showed an increase in understanding of how to make business profiles and proposals by 80.06 percent of participants.

Résumé :
Governments, Industrialists and CEOs are agreeing that the COVID-19 crisis will impact us way more than the 2008 crisis (Gurnani, 2020). No one really knows how to solve the financial crisis set into motion by COVID-19. Amidst this, there is mounting pressure on sales teams in organisations to sell products and services without sufficient salespeople. To make any sale, or receive funding, organisations go through a process where they must develop a business proposal. Almost no business in the B2B (business to business) market is won without a formal business proposal. Business proposal management and writing has evolved over the years with best practices and certifications, just like project management, but the COVID-19 crisis has given it a jolt unlike any other. Salesteams, bid and proposal management teams. proposal writers and associated graphic specialists need to use this crisis as a catalyst for change. There is a resounding, echoing bell ring that asks us to reimagine, reconfigure and restart. And the bell does not ring just for teams but also for individuals. The future depends on interactive technologies and proposal teams must think about playing strategic roles if they want to stay relevant. For the investigation and writing of this paper, we have used both primary and secondary research techniques. They are listed as follows: Primary Research - Questionnaires and Interviews; Secondary Research - Journals, Harvard Business Review, Economic Times, Internationally acclaimed websites, Textbooks

Résumé :
Purpose This paper aims to present a tool for helping the mindset organization of graduate students and early career researchers in the process of scientific papers writing. The canvas roadmap is proposed and summarizes the fundamental steps and main features of an academic paper in the business management field. Design/methodology/approach The adopted methodological procedures followed action research and focus groups precepts. Validation was applied in longitudinal and transversal procedures, with two early career researchers and with three groups of graduate students from different institutions. The validation procedures allowed the identification of 15 main features that were structured in a canvas format. Findings The conception of the canvas roadmap, influenced by the business model canvas, is a tool for easing researchers’ mindset when preparing a manuscript. Each of 15 features are explored according to main identified components along the paper writing process. Advices for early researchers are addressed, and key characteristics are presented. Further readings in academic writing literature are suggested as along with practical tips for developing the manuscript. Research limitations/implications Specifically, the canvas roadmap proposal intends to guide Iberoamerican/Latin American scholars to achieve their goals of publishing in top tier journals, relevant to their academic careers, and to improve research outcomes through a structured guidance for crafting scientific papers. Originality/value As main contribution and novelty, this paper intends to provide a canvas roadmap by identifying the main sections a scientific paper in the Business Management field must follow, and how to address specific features when writing these sections. This tool was conceived due the Business Management field needs a faster-to-address and easy-to-use tool and that summarizes main features of academic papers.

Résumé :
This study attempted to analyze the process of preparing for the future with more creative and problem-solving ability with writing proposals through university freshman’s self-directed activity and writing activity. Through a new class called Dongduk Arete, students go through the process of self-exploration and develop creative ideas in order to lead them to develop themselves more. Each student tries developing a self-directed program based on ideas that fit their circumstances and tastes and writing them as a proposal. As it has been said that a proposal is 'building', not 'writing', proposal writing is an activity that goes beyond simple writing. As writing a proposal is like building up bricks and writing them together one by one, it is a document for realizing an idea, so it is called a 'blueprint' that is made before construction. Planning is a complex blueprint for putting ideas into practice, a bird's eye view, and a plan for carrying out work. The process of university freshmen leading their life through the process of self-exploration and planning it as a document is a work that demonstrates important values for self-growth in future.

Résumé :
A study of forty current business/technical/professional writing textbooks suggests that little disciplinary agreement exists about what proposals are and how they differ from some kinds of reports; how the various types of proposals should be classified; and what structural features characterize the genre. Though many texts blur the distinction between proposals and internal recommendation reports, the two are never the same. The textbooks present a bewildering array of classification systems, often failing to distinguish between situation and function. A function-based system could divide all proposals into two categories-analytic (research proposals, R&D proposals, and consulting proposals) and service/product, with bids representing a special case. The lack of disciplinary agreement also makes it difficult for textbook users to internalize a generic structure that will serve for all proposal-writing tasks. Such a structure would include the following: situation, objectives, methods, qualifications, costs, and benefits. The major advantages of such a generic structure are its slots, which make it like a schema; its event sequence, which makes it like a script; and its ability to help writers and teachers understand the relationship among the macropropositions that exist explicitly or implicitly in all proposals.

Résumé :
During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is suspected that educational institutions are facing a decline in the quality of learning because learning cannot take place face-to-face, and teaching materials and learning models applied are still conventional. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the application of project-based hybrid learning in improving the quality of writing thesis proposals for students of the Medan State University (Unimed) Business Education Study Program and see the impact of accompaniment to learning independence and student learning satisfaction. This research method applies quasi-experimental with posttest control group design for experimental and control classes. The research population of all students currently attending the Research Methodology lecture in 2021 is 51, consisting of two classes (A & B). The sample was determined by random sampling, with class A as the experimental class of 26 people and class B as the control class of 25 people. Experimental classes are taught with project-based hybrid learning through Google meet and LMS, and control classes are taught with conventional learning through asynchronous LMS. All participants were tasked with compiling a thesis proposal after finishing the treatment. The difference in the average results of the assessment of the thesis proposals of the two classes was carried out with the Mann-Whitney test because the data were not normally distributed. The results of this study show that the application of project-based hybrid learning is effective in improving the quality of writing thesis proposals, independence, and learning satisfaction.

As a result of a major revision of the undergraduate curriculum in the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina, we were given the task of establishing a center for business communication. Based on this experience, we present our strategic consultancy model for launching such a center. The model employs the strategic management paradigm of identifying the principle players in the process; identifying stakeholders; defining goals; analyzing strengths, weak nesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis); establishing consultancy relationships; and evaluating results. The model proved successful in writing a proposal for the center, implementing the center, and evaluating the center's work.

Résumé :
This article examines how musicians involved in the government sponsored music scene in Recife, the capital of the Brazilian state of Pernambuco, (meta)musically perform different versions of the ‘entrepreneurial self,’ a form of neoliberal subjectivity. Through comparing specific musicians’ practices and narratives, I argue Pernambucan state sponsorship is a mechanism which redefines citizenship on entrepreneurial terms and reinforces structural inequality. As government programs provide new opportunities to formalize and professionalize their labor, musicians face more bureaucratic and socioeconomic challenges that require them to broaden their musical labor to include skills like social media marketing and grant proposal writing. These expectations are difficult enough for middle-class, educated musicians to meet, but even harder for marginalized, lower-class, and racialized citizens to manage. By comparing how three musicians construct themselves as business-oriented, transnational, or patrimonial entrepreneurs, the article makes explicit what similar studies suggest, but often leave implicit: professionalism and entrepreneurialism are increasingly interdependent. Furthermore, while the entrepreneurial self is predicated on autonomy, these musicians' autonomy paradoxically depends on a combination of social networks and state sponsorship. In sum, the article reveals how individuals are creating new subjectivities to adapt to changing economic conditions.

Résumé :
Today's managers expect employees to be able to contribute not just their labor but also their analysis and ideas, yet little training is provided for writing the major document that contains such ideas: the internal proposal. Business and academic textbooks, as well as academic courses, focus almost entirely on external propos als, which are most appropriate in areas such as consulting and sales. The internal proposal (also known as the justification report), on the other hand, is applicable for almost any student's future career. It provides an opportunity for students to develop the competence and confidence to express their ideas in the workplace, encouraging them to demonstrate awareness and initiative, utilize problem-solving skills, and create a persuasive strategy. Because students are motivated to com plete this real-world assignment, it also inspires some of their best work.

Résumé :
Purpose This paper aims to introduce the emerging artificial-intelligence-based readability metrics (Coh-Metrix) to examine the effects of firm size on audit proposal readability. Design/methodology/approach Coh-Metrix readability measures use emerging computation linguistics technology to better assess document readability. These metrics measure co-relations of words, sentences and paragraphs on multi-dimensions rather than adopting the unidimensional “bag of words” approach that examines words in isolation. Using eight Coh-Metrix orthogonal principal component factors, the authors analyze the Chang and Stone (2019) data set comprised of 370 hand-collected audit proposals submitted by audit firms for the US state and local governments’ audit service contracts. Findings Audit firm size has a significant impact on the readability of audit proposals. Specifically, as measured by the traditional readability metric, the proposals from smaller firms are more readable than those submitted by larger firms. Furthermore, decomposed readability metrics indicate that smaller firm proposals evidence stronger (deep) text cohesion, whereas larger firm proposals evidence a stronger narrative structure and higher connectivity (relational indicators) among proposal elements. Unlike the traditional readability metric, however, the emergent readability metrics are uncorrelated with auditor selection. Research limitations/implications Work remains to develop and validate Coh-Metrix measures that are specific to the context of accounting and auditing practice. Future research can use emerging readability measures to examine various textual features (e.g. text cohesion) in finance or accounting related documents. Practical implications The results provide practitioners with insight into the proposal writing strategies and practices of larger and smaller firms. In addition, the results highlight the differing audit firm selection outcomes from traditional and Coh-Metrix readability metrics. Originality/value This study introduces new data and holistic readability measures to the auditing literature.

Reading and writing are daily communicative activities for our integration in society. For Deaf people, whose first language is sign language, these skills result complicated. In Mexico, there is a high percentage of Deaf people who have not acquired these skills, mainly due to the lack of trained personnel and educational guidance. Our proposal aims to design a mobile application with basic exercises to support the learning of reading and writing skills for the Deaf, using as a starting point their knowledge of the words in Mexican Sign Language (LSM, in Spanish). For the development of the proposal, we used the design thinking method, which includes the stages: empathize, define, devise, prototype. The low fidelity prototype was tested by an expert in LSM and teaching Spanish to deaf students. The results suggest that the activities are coherent and adequate for the Deaf user to appropriate the written words, and that the prototype has a clear flow.

Teachers of business and technical writing can apply this pedagogy by assigning students to write for nonprofits. Such assignments prepare students for both workplace writing and responsible citizenship. To help our profession consider the appropriateness of this pedagogy, this article describes the origins of the movement and proposes a rationale for it in our field. This article then explains sequential projects and teaching methods intended to reduce problems related to collaborative writing for nonprofits. Résumé :
English has gained supremacy as the primary language in a range of domains including business, science, technology, higher education, and research. This dominance has created a necessity for a curriculum that meets learners' needs. In Pakistan, postgraduate students face challenges related to the English language in coursework, research paper writing, and dissertation preparation. The objective of this research was to examine the English language requirements of potential Pakistani postgraduate students, who were pursuing studies in science disciplines. The sample included 26 prospective MS students and 4 prospective PhD students, who were preparing for admission tests. The researchers used a semi-structured questionnaire to collect the data, which had been validated by two experts. Thematic analysis revealed that the prospective postgraduate students needed reading skills for reading and comprehending research papers, followed by writing skills for research proposal writing and thesis writing. Participants also recognized the importance of speaking skills for research presentations and communication with supervisors, and listening skills for better understanding of lectures and seminars. The findings suggest that ESP learner-cantered courses should be offered to Pakistani MS/MPhil and PhD candidates that focus on the four language skills for research purposes.

Résumé :
Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) programs are viewed as a plausible solution to poor student communication skills. These programs are further justified on the premise that writing fosters and reinforces learning in any discipline. WAC programs integrate easily into horticulture. Traditional writing opportunities frequently utilized in horticulture include essays, papers, presentation critiques, lab reports, field trip summaries, business proposals, and cropping schedules. New opportunities might include microthemes and target audience writings. WAC programs have their own share of pitfalls: increased grading time, reduced course content, ill-equipped faculty to teach language arts, and unrecognized objectives. Ultimately, the success or failure of a WAC program hinges on the commitment of faculty in the discipline who should have the best understanding of the language and style needed to communicate effectively in their field.

Résumé :
Based on college students’ writing data, this study investigated various uses via basic quantitative analysis, measurement of colloquialism, and comparative analysis of usage. In Chapter 3, the length of sentences by registers was measured. As a result, self-introduction and photo image writing had the shortest sentences, while proposal writing had the longest. Lexical diversity analysis revealed that travel writing had the lowest lexical diversity, and photographic image writing had the highest. Lastly, the vocabulary density was highest in proposal writing and the lowest in self-introduction, and all six registers showed values lower than the average vocabulary density of previously measured Korean written texts. A comparison of colloquial features measures in six registers and a usage analysis of specific vocabulary were performed in Chapter 4. First, we examined the distribution of 16 particles identified as highly colloquial vocabulary in existing research. Next, we compared and organized the usage of the dependent noun “geo” and the common noun “ttae” with high colloquiality scores by region of use. Influenced by, the incorrect use of the frequently used common noun “bubun” was also examined through usage analysis. We presente d a variety of quantitative measurement methods used in corpus linguistics, which is expected to be of considerable help in college writing research, where corpus linguistics research is relatively less advanced. In addition, sub-corpus were created and compared by register, and the writing data produced by individual students can also be quantitatively analyzed using the same method. In other words, through this comparative work, a student’s writing ability can be qualitatively measured and presented. In addition, supplementing and organizing the usage analysis performed in this study into a collection of usages will make it possible to use it as specific sentence usages in the development of writing textbooks or writing education at colleges in the future.

Résumé :
Language planning and teaching practices have recently shifted towards designing syllabi and curricula based on learners needs. Therefore, this study aims to determine the language needs of engineers, which will serve as the foundation for developing a course plan that aims to develop the speaking and writing skills of future engineers. This paper is anchored on the concept of Needs Analysis (NA), which refers to the activities that are involved in collecting information that will serve as the basis for developing a curriculum that will meet the needs of a particular group of students. One hundred and two engineers answered a survey questionnaire, and six of them were interviewed. The survey revealed that the engineers' writing needs include writing emails, business letters, technical reports, memos, and project proposals, while their speaking needs include communicating with their colleagues and superiors face-to-face and through telephone, presenting research papers, and delivering lectures in seminars and training workshops. Further, based on the interview results, the engineers said that they need more training to enhance their skills in writing business letters and business proposals. They suggested simulation activities to improve their oral communication skills during training. The engineers emphasized that they witnessed one's professional success as being highly dependent on oral and written communication skills.

Résumé :
The National Institute of Food and Agriculture is the agency within the United States Department of Agriculture that provides extramural funding for competitive grants in research, education and extension. Several grant programs exist in this agency that support both basic and applied research in bovine reproduction, the most notable of which is the animal reproduction program area priority within the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative. Other programs within this initiative, while not dedicated solely to work in reproductive biology, also include opportunities for work on reproduction. The animal health and disease program area of this initiative provides funding for research on infectious diseases of the reproductive tract. The critical agriculture research and extension and the exploratory research program area priorities are two unique opportunities that offer funding for work in all areas in the food and agricultural sciences, including reproduction in cattle. Opportunities for education support at the agency include the predoctoral fellowships, postdoctoral fellowships, and research and extension experiences for undergraduates program, as well as the National Needs Graduate and Postgraduate Fellowship Grants, Higher Education Challenge Grants and Higher Education Multicultural Scholars programs. To stimulate technological innovations in the private sector, Small Business Innovation Research program competitively awards grants to qualified small businesses to address important problems in agriculture. To address veterinary shortage situations, especially those in food animal medicine, the Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment program helps qualified veterinarians offset a significant portion of debt incurred in pursuit of their veterinary degrees in return for service in designated high-priority veterinary shortage areas. The Veterinary Services Grant program provides funding for education, extension, and training in veterinary medicine of agricultural animals, as well as grants to enhance rural veterinary practices. Most federal grant programs are highly competitive, so skill and experience in applying for grants is needed to achieve success in securing grant funding. Recommendations for preparation of a meritorious grant proposal include careful reading of the program announcement, solicitation or request for applications to fully understand the scope, eligibility and requirements of the program; writing the grant proposal well in advance of the submission deadline to allow time for thoughtful preparation, critique by an experienced colleague, revision, and proof reading; and understanding the review process and criteria by which the proposal will be evaluated.

Résumé :
The article deals with the topic of teaching professionally oriented English writing skills. Such skills play an important role in our present-day world, helping IT-professionals to communicate the ideas to the addressee in a lexically, grammatically and stylistically accurate way The written form of business correspondence demands fluency from IT-students as well as mastering lexico-grammatical competence in writing e-mails, messages, posts on electronic bulletin boards, memos, business reports, letters, proposals, press releases, etc. In order to prepare the competitive future professionals, to develop relevant writing skills and abilities of further learning and applying the acquired knowledge in professional activities for performing their duties, lexico-grammatical competence should be mastered at a sufficiently high level while doing correspondence with external suppliers, foreign companies and entrepreneurs. The purpose of the study is to help IT-students to develop English lexico-grammatical competence in professionally oriented written communication by means of writing exercises. As the process of the formation of English lexico-grammatical competence in professionally-oriented writing of future IT-specialists is quite complex, it has been proved that it should be organized in three stages: receptive, receptive-reproductive and productive. At each stage certain writing skills should be developed which can further be applied in specific situations of written communication. It has been emphasized that special attention should be paid to modeling the process of writing by finding effective ways of expressing thoughts and ideas, choosing the appropriate vocabulary and grammatical patterns. The specially designed exercises will help teach IT-students the most up-to-date information technology-related words and expressions, grammatical structures as well as create their own writing messages.

Résumé :
The progress of international trade can provide an illustration for the contribution of comparative advantage theory. However, it has had challenges in front of existence and development of intra-trade. Accordingly, comparative advantage as well as dynamic competition theories has become the basic for not only business performance, trade activies and economy but also policy making process. This writing bases on the review of notions and primary regimes of creative destruction, dynamic competition as well as empirical analysis of selected cases for the differences of dynamic competition perspective from the classical attitudes in past. The analysis especially focusses on what the Austrian changed and developed in comparison with the underlying theory of creative destruction. Under case anlysis as well as relevant discussion, the paper points out the dynamic competition advocators’ productive and ambiguous arguments, particularly the economist Gray Becker’s proposal (Nobel Prize in Economics in 1992). Altogher, the research provides some policy implications and initial suggestion for antitrust regulation in Vietnam after making commendations on congesting suggestions for relaxation of antimonopoly regulation.

Kata Kunci: Generasi Muda, Green Banking, Kredit Hijau, UMKM, Pembangunan Ekonomi Berkelanjutan Abstract The decline in the earth's climate was the cause for the birth of the 2015 Paris Agreement which was ratified by Indonesia through Law Number 16 of 2016 concerning the Paris Agreement on the Convention which disrupted the work of the United Nations on Climate Change. The degradation of environmental quality does not only have a local impact but also has a broad impact so that is the responsibility of all human beings to carry out environmental management and preservation. One of the strategic efforts that can be carried out to alleviate environmental issues is to involve the banking sector in green credit financing for MSMEs business actors so that they can realize empowerment and sustainability which will ultimately lead to sustainable economic development. Efforts to balance profit, planet and people simultaneously can be started from the younger generation by submitting environmentally friendly business proposal ideas that take advantage of advances in digitalization. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the model of implementing green banking in various countries and the role of the younger generation as well as banking institutions through green credit in a green business proposal scheme by MSMEs in order to achieve the goal of sustainable economic development in Indonesia. The writing method used is normative juridical using a statutory and conceptual approach. The data used is secondary data through literature study on primary legal materials and secondary legal materials. The results of this paper show that various countries have committed to reducing carbon emissions through efforts to implement green banking and the role of the younger generation in maximizing inclusive economic development because there is a balance between economic development through optimizing MSMEs and creating a good environment through green credit by banking institutions. Keywords: Green Banking, Green Credit, MSMEs, Sustainable Economic Development, Young Generations.

Résumé :
In developing countries, livestock in the form of small-scale dairy farming is often a primary source of food security and revenue for rural communities. Despite this, decreasing dairy production in rural areas is a great concern. This study explored the challenges of small-scale dairy farmers (SSDFs) in the Bojanala Platinum District of the North West Province, South Africa. A qualitative study was conducted using purposive and snowball sampling techniques among SSDFs in the district to uncover the challenges confronting them. Twenty‑four in‑depth interviews were conducted with farmers, and data were analysed using the thematic content analysis technique (TCA). Eight themes emerged from the data analysis: the high cost of feed and fertiliser, diseases and the high cost of medication, unpredictable weather patterns, power failure, high cost of electricity, cattle theft, lack of machinery and equipment and lack of support. SSDFs should be made aware and trained on identifying and managing livestock diseases, and prevention strategies for livestock theft should be developed and implemented. The study also recommends that local governments subsidise and support SSDFs to manage and sustain their businesses. Furthermore, the SSDFs should be exposed to agricultural funders in their localities, and access to educational services should be made available for local farmers to receive training towards proposal writing to apply for funds. In future, studies can look at the knowledge and literacy of farmers in sourcing funds to support their dairy farming business.

Résumé :
Coal mining in Indonesia is generally carried out using open pit mining methods, thereby disrupting and destroying the ecosystem and natural balance, causing negative impacts that result in environmental damage. Therefore, sustainable development with an environmental perspective is important for every nation and country that wants to protect its natural resources. The main cause of damage to the ecosystem or environment is humans. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach method. According to Williams (1988), the qualitative method is an approach that in the research proposal, process, hypothesis, going into the field, data analysis and data conclusions up to writing uses aspects of trends, non-numerical calculations, situational descriptive, interviews, in-depth analysis, deep. contents, snowballs and stories. The research findings regarding the study of the implementation of ex-mining land reclamation at PT Rekasindo Guriang Tandang's Coal Mining Business License in North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province are regarding community knowledge and participation in reclamation activities, land preparation, implementation of activities, equipment, costs, and commitment of directors or managers. The implementation of reclamation activities at PT Rekasindo Guriang Tandang did not go well because the plant growth success rate was low and plant growth was less than optimal. So the government and Mining Business License (IUP) managers need to take policies to involve the community more to play a more active role in reclamation activities carried out in areas around their environment.

Résumé :
Agencies are frequently required to analyze the impact of their decisions, particularly in the context of regulatory policy. Advocates of analysis have championed the transparency benefit of these requirements. But there has been very little attention paid to the effectiveness of analysis in spurring useful participation in practice. This article examines how analysis can hinder and motivate public participation. Interviews were conducted with 48 analysts (including economists, risk assessors, and environmental impact assessors). In addition I conducted a case study on a unique method for using analysis in partnership with participation, the use of panels of small business owners to evaluate a regulatory proposal by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). I find that participation in agency decisions as a result of traditional analytical requirements has been very uneven. Examples of success exist but so do cases where participation may be deterred by the density and complexity of analysis as well as cases of massive letter-writing campaigns ignored by decision-makers. I recommend a move toward simpler and earlier analysis, and the use of panels (such as described in the case study) to better take advantage of the potential synergy between analysis and participation.

The article is focused on the evaluation and comparison of the international competitiveness of the Visegrad countries – four countries Slovak Republic, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. The article consists of four chapters. The first chapter is focused on a short introduction to the issue. The second chapter briefly describes the methodology used in writing the article. It analyzes in detail the individual parts and subindices of the Global Competitiveness Index. The third chapter evaluates the specific values of the index which the countries of Visegrad four achieved from 2010 to 2018. The fourth chapter focuses on assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the countries’ competitiveness. It also contains a proposal for the future direction of states. The concept of global competitiveness is increasingly being used to assess many different methods and indices in comparing countries. One of the best known indices is the Global Competitiveness Index, which is compiled annually by the World Economic Forum. It assesses how countries achieve and maintain economic growth and how business of every country is influenced by competitiveness. Higher quality of financial reports makes companies more competitiveness and motivate investors to put money into them.

Résumé :
The advancement of the Internet has changed people’s ways of expressing and sharing their views with the world. Moreover, user-generated content has become a primary guide for customer purchasing decisions. Therefore, motivated by commercial interest, some sellers have started manipulating Internet ratings by writing false positive reviews to encourage the sale of their goods and writing false negative reviews to discredit competitors. These reviews are generally referred to as deceptive reviews. Deceptive reviews mislead customers in purchasing goods that are inconsistent with online information and thus obstruct fair competition among businesses. To protect the right of consumers and sellers, an effective method is required to automate the detection of misleading reviews. Previously developed methods of translating text into feature vectors usually fail to interpret polysemous words, which leads to such functions being obstructed. By using dynamic feature vectors, the present study developed several misleading review-detection models for the Chinese language. The developed models were then compared with the standard detection-efficiency models. The deceptive reviews collected from various online forums in Taiwan by previous studies were used to test the models. The results showed that the models proposed in this study can achieve 0.92 in terms of precision, 0.91 in terms of recall, and 0.91 in terms of F1-score. The improvement rate of our proposal is higher than 20%. Accordingly, we prove that our proposal demonstrated improved performance in detecting misleading reviews, and the models based on dynamic feature vectors were capable of more accurately capturing semantic terms than the conventional models based on the static feature vectors, thereby enhancing effectiveness.

Résumé :
Digitalization has been bringing about various changes and innovations not only in our daily life but also in our business environment. In the manufacturing industry, robots have been used for automation for a long time, resulting in innovation in terms of the faster operation process and higher product quality. Robotics Process Automation (RPA) can be said to have brought this innovation in the productivity improvement of many industries into the business office. The purpose of this study is to improve business productivity by applying RPA named CoPA. It is based on Domain-Specific Languages (DSLs) and Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) coupled with MS Office. CoPA has been replaced to perform the repetitive patterned tasks (especially document work) done by many people in an office. For the applications of business productivity, CoPA has been implemented to revise five government project proposals requiring quite strict writing standards. The improvement of business productivity obtained by CoPA has been compared to the performance of 10 employees who are familiar with MS Office. The paper explains the method of CoPA coupled with MS Office as well as the agile method of human collaboration. It is clearly shown that CoPA as a business RPA can improve business productivity in terms of time consumption and document quality.

Résumé :
Purpose: This study aimed to examine the students’ errors in composition writing. Theoretical Framework: This study is anchored to Corder’s (1974) model of error analysis in order to identify errors of the learners in their composition writing. The errors were discussed in five stages: collection of data containing errors, classification of errors, identification of errors, disclosure and evaluation of errors. Design/Methodology/Approach: The descriptive approach was used using qualitative and quantitative data since the study analyzed the errors committed by the students in composition writing. Moreover, descriptive design was used since the profile of the respondents in terms of sex was described. Lastly, error analysis was used in identifying the errors committed by the students in the writing of their autobiography. Findings: The study found that the Second Language Learners have committed numerous errors under mechanical, grammatical and structural categories such as: misspelling, lack of punctuation marks, errors in capitalization, wrong tense of verb, wrong subject and verb agreement, missing prepositions, fragments, faulty parallelism and comma splice. Research, Practical & Social Implications: This study has implications to language teaching and learning. Language professors should always incorporate lessons in grammar in all language courses. Further, the language learners should be more exposed to multiple writing tasks to enhance their writing skills. Originality/ Value: Development of an evidence-based English remedial program to improve the English proficiency and academic writing skills of second language learners in higher institutions.

Résumé :
Abstract Teaching writing to doctoral students or academics at a technical university is a challenging task. Because they need to publish their research findings in English to pursue academic careers, they are usually highly motivated and expect a lot of the class. Their language competences, however, very often lack enough proficiency and may contribute to manuscript rejection. The paper focuses on language issues based on the rules of controlled natural languages (CNLs) and guidelines of Plain English. It shows how employing these issues improves grammatical quality and readability of science-oriented written texts. The paper describes four principles: removing nominalisation and using the so-called strong verbs to make the message simpler and more direct; combining nouns in strings to express complex ideas economically; applying grammatical consistency for coordinate elements in sentences to make them less chaotic; and reducing wordiness to obtain a more precise and comprehensible piece of writing. Sample phrases and sentences from authentic student writing as well as their improved versions are provided to each of the guidelines so that a reader has a deeper insight into how the principles work in a specialist context. Because problems with, for example, research papers, grant proposals or reports are common to various disciplines and at various levels, the Author of the paper draws conclusions that these principles should be implemented not only in a technical but also legal, medical and business writing course offered by English teachers to both young researchers and experienced scientists.

Résumé :
This proposed UFS ACM is the best preventive control around the world for heterogeneous applications on multiple hardware and software. The subject and object can be able to map, integrate, synchronize, and communicate through reading, writing, and executing over a UFS on the complex web infrastructure. We have to investigate the basic concepts behind access control design and enforcement and point out different security requirements that may need to be taken into consideration as per business, resources, and technology available to us. This paper has to formulate and implement several access control mechanisms, methods, and models on normalizing them step by step, which has been highlighted in the proposed model for present and future requirements. This research paper contributes to the development of an optimization model that aims to determine the optimal cost, time, and maximize the quality of services to be invested into security model and mechanisms deciding on the measure components of UFS.
