A quantitative Dream Test score is defined as the ratio of the number of the key dream words selected by a subject and given a plus sign to the number of the dream words given minus sign as is done on the Initial-letter Word-association Test. The paper presents the results of numerical analysis and in-situ measurements of two railway bridge spans subjected to an action of moving vehicles. The railway vehicle is introduced using four simplified load models: series of concentrated forces, series of lumped masses and series of single-mass and two-mass oscillators. Numerical simulations are performed using FE method. The dynamic parameters of the vehicle and the bridge models are determined on the basis of modal identification results of existing structures – EN57 traction unit and steel bridges of 10 and 30 m theoretical span length.

A key concern among language testing experts has been how a test taker’s language ability is inferred based on a single score. Defining language ability is made difficult by the influence of factors within the test taker and beyond. One underlying factor is the use of strategies. This thesis investigates test takers’ use of strategies in a simulated two-way discussion of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Speaking Test. Résumé :
One of the challenges of climate change in the building sector is related to the durability of materials, i.e., the resistance to degradation due to weathering over time. The durability of building components can be assessed through long-term natural outdoor climate exposure or appropriate accelerated climate aging in the laboratory. SINTEF Research Centre owns a climate simulator apparatus to perform aging tests according to the Nordtest method NT Build 495:2000. The aim of this article is to show the results from an accelerated climatic aging test performed on three different configurations

The need to control the risk that accompanies businesses in their day- to-day operations, and at the same time changing economic conditions make risk management an almost indispensable element of economic life. Selection of the main aspects of the selected phases of the risk management process: risk identification and risk assessment are related to their direct relationship with the subject matter (risk identification to be managed; risk analysis leading to the establishment of a risk hierarchy, and, consequently, the definition of risk control’ methods) and its purpose (bringing the risk to a

Résumé :
Distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) technology utilizes a fiber-optic cable as a distributed vibration sensor that can be installed in a right-of-way to monitor for pipeline leaks and to identify third-party interference (TPI), such as mechanized excavation, hand digging, etc. Various laboratory tests have been performed to demonstrate that DAS has the potential to be a flexible solution for pipeline operators. A key gap that needs to be assessed is the ability of the technology to serve its intended leak detection and TPI functions while not generating alarms at any other times. The most compr

Résumé :
Global and national education agendas are concerned with improving quality and equality of learning outcomes. This paper provides an analysis of the case of Vietnam, which is regarded as having high learning outcomes and less inequality in learning. But national data and international test outcomes may mask the hidden inequalities that exist between minoritized groups and majority (Kinh) students. Drawing on data from qualitative videos and interviews of secondary teachers across 10 provinces, we examine the role of teachers’ beliefs, curricular design and actions in the classroom (Gale et al.
