A quantitative Dream Test score is defined as the ratio of the number of the key dream words selected by a subject and given a plus sign to the number of the dream words given minus sign as is done on the Initial-letter Word-association Test. The mean quantitative Dream Test score is 2+/3- with a slight prevalence of minus over plus signs and the mean number of selected key dream words of 5. The qualitative Dream Test score was formulated to represent the dream categories and subcategories in which individual dreams are classified according to manifest dream content. Résumé :
The paper presents the results of numerical analysis and in-situ measurements of two railway bridge spans subjected to an action of moving vehicles. The railway vehicle is introduced using four simplified load models: series of concentrated forces, series of lumped masses and series of single-mass and two-mass oscillators. Numerical simulations are performed using FE method. The dynamic parameters of the vehicle and the bridge models are determined on the basis of modal identification results of existing structures – EN57 traction unit and steel bridges of 10 and 30 m theoretical span length.

AbstractDuring recent decades, many new models have emerged in pure and applied economic theory according to which agents’ choices may be sensitive to ambiguity in the uncertainty that faces them. The exchange between Epstein (2010) and Klibanoff et al. (2012) identified a notable behavioral issue that distinguishes sharply between two classes of models of ambiguity sensitivity that are importantly different. The two classes are exemplified by the α-maxmin expected utility (MEU) model and the smooth ambiguity model, respectively; and the issue is whether or not a desire to hedge independently

Hypotheses are not commonly disclosed in qualitative research. This can be largely attributed to many qualitative methods not being optimal or suitable for hypothesis testing, and the epistemological curiosity in qualitative research often lacking interest in testing. Nonetheless, qualitative researchers, too, do often operate with hypotheses even though they do not test them. In this essay, I discuss qualitative hypotheses (QHs) as a means to disclose hypotheses without testing them. In particular, the usage, functions, and limitations of QHs are proposed with a contextualising historical ove

Recent scholarship in political science attests to the rapid proliferation of approaches engaged in multi-method research (MMR), research that employs two or more methods selected from an array of qualitative, quantitative, and formal methods typically used in the social sciences. The general notion that different types of methods can be employed to advance or test a particular theory is not in itself new. Multi-method approaches have long been a feature of social science research, taken up usually out of necessity (e.g. Jick 1979). Where data conducive to one method was not available, scholar
