Résumé :
In recent years, marine ranching, as an emerging model of marine industry development, has become a research hotspot in the marine industries of many countries. A marine ranching is an ecological aquaculture fishing ground formed within a specific sea area to increase and restore fishery resources, combined with artificial nurseries and the construction of fish reefs. As a major maritime country, China attaches great importance to the construction of marine ranching and supports them as an important means of conserving aquatic resources, providing fishermen with jobs, and building a marine eco

Résumé :
The significance of Latin America (LA) in the global food supply is large and prominent. The livestock sector at this time faces social-ecological challenges that will be accentuated in the future and will be incredibly challenging for small and medium producers. We conducted a systematic literature review to understand the role of LA cattle ranching in the current sustainability debate. In addition, we identified the main components of cattle ranching social-ecological systems and evaluated the institutional and ecological interactions of livestock studies by identifying spatial and temporal

Résumé :
The construction of marine ranching is a crucial component of China’s Blue Granary strategy, yet the fragmented knowledge system in marine ranching equipment impedes intelligent management and operational efficiency. This study proposes the first knowledge graph (KG) framework tailored for marine ranching equipment, integrating hybrid ontology design, joint entity–relation extraction, and graph-based knowledge storage: (1) The limitations in existing KG are obtained through targeted questionnaires for diverse users and employees; (2) A domain ontology was constructed through a combination of t

This article analyzes literature on the history of cattle ranching and agricultural innovation adoption in Colombia to understand how livestock production systems have evolved from the 1950s until today. Departing from new scholarship that has questioned the idea that cattle ranching has been only a land-grabbing strategy dominated by few elites, this article focuses on the adoption of improved pastures and the role of key institutions such as the CIAT on the transformation of practices and the shortcomings of technification. It shows that Colombia has had big transformations with the introduc

An Integrated Assessment Model (IAM) was employed to develop a Narrative Policy Framework (NPF) and a quantitative model to investigate the changes in land use within the Brazilian Amazon. The process began by creating a theoretical NPF using a ‘systems thinking’ approach. Subsequently, a ‘system dynamic model’ was built based on an extensive review of the literature and on multiple quantitative datasets to simulate the impacts of the NPF, specifically focusing on the conversion of forests into open land for ranching and the implementation of soil management practices as a macro-level policy a

Résumé :
The marriage custom of charivari/shivaree evolved from a punitive form of social control in Europe and Great Britain, to a raucous American celebration that welcomed newlyweds into a community. The isolated ranching community of Park Valley, Utah performed their own unique version of shivaree. This investigation of their ritualized tradition began with a review of the cultural landscape combined with the contemporary rural society that forms a community-clan who descends from six pioneer families. The existing community outlived mining and railroad towns that originally populated the area. The

In this chapter, we identify the mode of cattle husbandry in the early colonial Caribbean and New Spain using zooarchaeological proxies such as demographic indicators, which include age at death, sex, size, and health conditions. The study aimed to determine if open-range ranching played a significant role in these regions as suggested by historical literature. Based on the chosen proxies, the results suggest that highly mobile and extensive raising practices appear to have been predominant from the earliest cattle introduction to the Caribbean. This seems to have greatly benefited the animals

Résumé :
In the Cesar Department in Colombia, sustainable agriculture faces critical challenges despite its thriving livestock sector. Extensive cattle ranching and poor soil management worsen soil conditions. Additionally, significant environmental concerns arise from the substantial discharge of wastewater in the dairy processing industry. This study aims to valorize biosolids derived from wastewater during dairy plant disinfection to enhance sustainable livestock production. It explores the use of biosolids as the primary matrix for creating composted compounds and biopolymers for agricultural purpo
