Knuckle prints are unique patterns, it contains ridges and furrows on the dorsal surface of the hand. Knuckle prints are used biometric identifier. These prints contain biological features like minutiae. The objective of this research is to investigate, the comparative analysis of knuckle prints in both hands of male and female individual. The study emphasizes the variations in ridge endings and bifurcations between right and left hand. Most of the fingerprint matching techniques require extraction of minutiae that are ridge endings or bifurcations of ridge lines in a fingerprint image. Crucial to this step is either detecting ridges from the gray-level image or binarizing the image and then extracting the minutiae. In this work, we firstly exploit the property of almost equal width of ridges and valleys for binarization. Computing the width of arbitrary shapes is a nontrivial task. So, we estimate the width using Euclidean distance transform (EDT) and provide a near-linear time algorithm for binarization. Secondly, instead o

True minutiae extraction in fingerprint image is critical to the performance of an automated identification system. Generally, a set of endings and bifurcations (both called feature points) can be obtained by the thinning image from which the true minutiae of the fingerprint are extracted by using the rules based on the structure of ridges. However, considering some false and true minutiae have similar ridge structures in the thinning image, in a lot of cases, we have to explore their difference in the binary image or the original gray image. Based on dermatoglyphic correlations with the ABO and Rh blood group systems, the method utilizes uploaded fingerprint images, which are processed through image enhancement and machine learning models. The system analyzes fingerprint features such as ridge endings and bifurcations to classify blood groups. A fingerprint is a unique time-invariant biometric characteristic of an individual, capable of establishing contact between that individual and an object or a fixed location. Latent (non-visible) fingermarks require chemical treatment to generate a visible image. A viable methodology requires translation of the underlying chemistry to routine and predictable application with unquestioned veracity. This involves optimization and fundamental understanding of the materials involved, and spatially resolved control over their molecular interactions with the substrate and the fingermark constituents

We identify an actin-based protrusive structure in growth cones termed “intrapodium.” Unlike filopodia, intrapodia are initiated exclusively within lamellipodia and elongate in a continuous (nonsaltatory) manner parallel to the plane of the dorsal plasma membrane causing a ridge-like protrusion. Intrapodia resemble the actin-rich structures induced by intracellular pathogens (e.g.,Listeria) or by extracellular beads. This approach is based on a structure model and a hash function to achieve a fast matching. The structure model contains all fingerprint information needed for matching. Using this method, the problem of fingerprint matching becomes a problem of hashing and frequency counting. The experimental results show that our method is fast, reliable, and practical for real applications.

Most matching or verification phases of fingerprint systems use minutiae types and orientation angle to find matched minutiae pairs from the input and template fingerprints. Unfortunately, due to some non-linear distortions, like excessive pressure and fingers twisting during enrollment, this process can cause the minutiae features to be distorted from the original. The authors are interested in a fingerprint matching method using contactless images for fingerprint verification. In fairy tales and traditional romance movies, the story ended when the prince found his soul mate, married her, and rode off with her into the sunset. Similarly, a great project contract and plan is of little consequence without constant monitoring and control. The paper proposes a method for identifying fingerprints that is resistant to noise and image defects. The method relies on minutiae, bifurcations and endings, which, under the influence of defects, can change their type. Such undesirable changes affect the ridge counting, the topological and other characteristics of the images. It can reduce the reliability of their identification. To compensate for the effect of interference, a topological vector is introduced and its numbering rules for bifurcations and endings are described.
