This study aims to identify the current hotspots and research directions in rural tourism development with a focus on its influencing factors, access to resources, the role of public goods, and spatial aspects of rural tourism activities. We collected 933 journal articles from the Scopus database and analyzed them using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix tools.
