This paper outlines the background development of “intelligent” technologies such as speech recognition. Despite significant progress in the development of these technologies, they still fall short in many areas, and rapid advances in areas such as dictation are actually stalled. In this paper we have proposed semi-automatic solutions — smart integration of human and intelligent efforts. One such technique involves improvement to the speech recognition editing interface, thereby reducing the perception of errors to the viewer. The verbal transformation effect (VTE) refers to perceptual switches while listening to a speech sound repeated rapidly and continuously. It is a specific case of perceptual multistability providing a rich paradigm for studying the processes underlying the perceptual organization of speech. While the VTE has been mainly considered as a purely auditory effect, this paper presents a review of recent behavioural and neuroimaging studies investigating the role of perceptuo-motor interactions in the effect. In this paper we explore the mathematical issues involved and obtain various criteria for when a transformation to a new domain results in a speaker independent transform.

The possibility of using the method of computed transformation of time parameters of speech for objective registration of speech defeat and establishment of diagnosis of aphasia were revealed.

Résumé :
This study aims to determine how the Ahkaam al-Tajweed, a set of rules applied during the memorization of the Quran is a science towards speech and voice regulation. Adherence to these rules while memorizing the Quran improves articulation and regulates the voice. Physical observations were done on certain students and transformations were seen. The results indicate that students who previously faced speech and articulation problems showed transformation after beginning Quran memorization while adhering to Tajweed rules. Voice and speech disorders can be classified into three: functional, neur

Résumé :
The voice is a natural biometric attribute for the verification and recognition of speakers. Using the Fourier transform of fractional order, it is possible to obtain characteristics of the speech signal in the time-frequency space with an added degree of freedom. The speech is represented in a different way compared to the traditionally Fourier transformation. This paper compares the performance of using the fractional Fourier transformation in the speakers’ verification in text-dependent systems, instead of the common representation using the standard Fourier transformation, of the Mel Frequ

The article deals with the mechanisms of generation and functioning of spontaneous speech and their influence on the interpreter’s spontaneous speech during simultaneous interpreting. The subject of the research is spontaneous speech in simultaneous interpretation, the object of research is functional notional types of oral speech which serve as the foundation for the algorithm of expressing the main idea of the message. Depending on the functional notional type of spontaneous speech that can be considered as the dominant one in the source message, the interpreter faces different challenges. F

Résumé :
The paper examines surrogate language in Dagbani, a Mabia language spoken in Northern Region of Ghana. The objectives of the paper are in two folds: it pays attention to its functions and its transformation from traditional to the contemporary sociocultural issues. Premised on participant-observation, the paper supports the multi-toned language represented on a pressure drum capable of many pitches. It attests that the lundaa „pressure drum‟ is a speech surrogate used among Dagbani speakers. The lundaa has a wide distribution of functions but this paper is focused on the core functions of drum

In chaotic speech signal encryption, masking is the most direct and convenient method. But the chaotic signals usually have a narrow spectral range in low frequency region. In order to overcome the disadvantage that the higher frequency signals can not be completely covered up, UPT is used to conduct a nonlinear transformation to chaotic signal. After UPT, chaotic types are increased, chaotic characteristics are improved and spectral range is widened. Simulation experiments are done respectively from frequency domain and spectrogram perspectives. The chaos before and after transformation are u

Résumé :
Listeners usually have no difficulties telling the difference between speech and song. Yet when a spoken phrase is repeated several times, they often report a perceptual transformation that turns speech into song. There is a great deal of variability in the perception of the speech-to-song illusion (STS). It may result partly from linguistic properties of spoken phrases and be partly due to the individual processing difference of listeners exposed to STS. To date, existing evidence is insufficient to predict who is most likely to experience the transformation, and which sentences may be more c
