Résumé :
Stamp collectors frequently donate their stamps to cultural heritage institutions. As digitization becomes more prevalent for other kinds of materials, it is worth exploring how cultural heritage institutions are digitizing their philatelic materials. This paper begins with a review of the literature about the purpose of metadata, current metadata standards, and metadata that are relevant to philatelists. The paper then examines the digital philatelic collections of four large cultural heritage institutions, discussing the metadata standards and elements employed by these institutions. The paper concludes with a recommendation to create international standards that describe metadata management explicitly for philatelic materials.

One of the two reviewers studied in high school to be a physicist. In the end, he became something else, but he never lost his awe of physics. The other reviewer never intended to become a physicist, but he sometimes asks himself why he didn’t become one. Today, they are both sociologists who practice their science on an action theory basis and believe that regularities exist in the world of social actions which can be perceived, understood, explained – and even used for making predictions.

Résumé :
The Russian pre-revolutionary book features many various provenance marks including marks of ownership. Such marks indicate that a particular item belongs to a particular owner. They can have forms of supralibros (or super ex-libris), ex-libris (or bookplates), book stamps, signatures and inscriptions. There are also “non-specific” ownership stamps and labels, which do not have indications of their book nature (such as phrases “from the books/library of...”, “ex-libris…”) and can be used on any objects. Usually these are word rubber stamps (rarely — labels) with a text consisting of a book owner’s name and occasionally some additional information (such as an owner’s address, title, etc.). In Russia, bibliophiles and bibliologists have been studying bookplates for about two centuries. However, there are still many blank spots in the history of the Russian bookplate. Regional book ownership marks are mostly unexplored. This article presents an attempt to describe and analyse book ownership marks of the Russian Far Eastern book owners. Studying of library holdings of 13 regional institutions and conducting bibliographic research allowed revealing 58 local marks of ownership (excluding signatures and inscriptions) that belonged to 23 local book collectors of the pre-revolutionary period. The study showed that they used all types of marks from supralibros to inscriptions, but mostly preferred the “non-specific” book stamps and super ex-libris. There was also established that the bookplate labels were particularly rare — the author discovered the only specimen in the Far Eastern State Research Library. The predominance of book stamps as marks of ownership can be explained by their multipurposeness, cheapness and easiness of manufacturing. Far Eastern book owners frequently used two or three different types of marks together on one book, for example, book stamp and supralibros, inscription and book stamp or supralibros and inscription, etc. Often one collector used several different stamps or supralibros: almost 40% of book collectors had two or three marks of ownership. At the same time, 11 of 23 book owners additionally marked their books with the inscriptions.

Résumé :
The article presents the definition of the study of stamps as a separate area of research of historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine. Views on the postage stamp as a historical pictorial source, through which the historical, national and cultural memory of people is fixed, are revealed. A review of the prerequisites for the scientific study of postage stamps in the field of humanities shows them as unique representatives of the national historical and cultural environment. The significance of addressing the issue of scientific study of postage stamps (philately) as a carrier of cultural and historical heritage is observed in the context of historical, philosophical, cultural and art studies. The practical value of the research is concentrated in the circles of collectors, profile museums of the post office, in archival funds, which keep general, documentary collections of postage stamps. In the process of the research, new research-interdisciplinary direct connections have emerged, which reveal aspects of philately from the point of view of psychology and philosophy. Taking into account all the achievements of interdisciplinary research, we consider historical explorations of preservation and translation of the historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine on postage stamps important and promising in the context of scientific and theoretical as well as empirical and applied Heritage Studies. All the above leads us to determine the purpose of the study, which can be described as identifying the conceptual foundations of the postage stamp not only as an independent object of cultural heritage, but also understanding the process of coding Ukraine’s sovereignty at different stages of statehood developing the postage stamp as a carrier of the historical and cultural heritage of the nation and the state. Scientific prospects for further elaboration of this topic in general and in its systemforming elements in particular are seen in the need to increase the importance of further scientific study of cultural heritage of Ukraine through the prism of postal miniature, where the object of study focuses on revealing the concepts and the practice of philately in stamp publishing cultural environment.

Résumé :
The article is devoted to a detailed analysis of issues of postage stamps of the world during the first half of the XIX - beginning of the XXI century. The study is based on the study of the image content of postage stamps of the standard type, which are the most widespread and intended for long-term technological use. The main content of the study is the analysis of symbols of statehood on the background of postage stamps, which act as a carrier of historical information. The postage stamp reflects the historical and cultural heritage of the country and the prospects for the development of culture around the world. Performing its main technological function, a postage stamp with elements of symbolic load automatically formulates – attributive. In this sense, it is not just an artistic miniature, it acts as a kind of matrix that has the ability to connect history with the present. The plots of postal issues cover significant events in the history of the state, with their assistance the historical and cultural heritage is popularized. Therefore, the postal administration of Ukraine is directly interested in the plots depicted in postal issues. Due to its wide distribution in the world, and based on the communicative function of the postage stamp, it is advisable to reproduce the symbols of statehood – flag, coat of arms, national currency, maps, parliament or legislature, national monuments, portraits of national and political leaders who testify to the sovereignty of the state. As a way of understanding the past and perceiving the present, the postage stamp expresses a single concept: historical memory – artistic image - the sovereignty of the state. Possessing a semiotic aspect, the postage stamp fits into the general symbolic, symbolic theory of the image both art, and information. The high artistic level and content of the plots are visual forms that encourage the study of national symbols and form a positive attitude of domestic and foreign collectors to the issuing state.

Résumé :
Stamp collecting and industrial capitalism in the United States emerged simultaneously in the mid-nineteenth century. England issued the first government postage stamp in 1840, and other nations quickly adopted the idea. The United States printed its first official stamp in 1847, although it was preceded by the provisionals issued by local postmasters. Postage stamps were a product of the industrial revolution. The adoption of the prepaid penny post in England, while opposed by the General Post Office, was widely supported by large merchants who understood that a low-cost, single-rate system was vital to the communication demanded by an increasingly national market. The adhesive label was originally conceived by the English postal reformer, Rowland Hill, as a convenience for illiterates who would not be able to write addresses on the official envelopes that he preferred as proof of prepayment. Within a decade, almost every major nation in the world had borrowed this device, which became a symbol of the economic transformation of the nineteenth century. I would argue that the collecting of these tokens was a microcosmic performance of the system that created them. Stamp collectors took on many of the key roles of actors in the market economy and played out various conflicts embodied in the larger society in the philatelic arena.

Résumé :
The article deals with the memorial aspect of the Brazilian philatelic bibliography. The research aimed at analyzingthe Catalog of Postage Stamps in Braziledited by Rolf Harald Meyer. The research procedure was bibliographic and documentary. The catalogs were accessed in a private library of a bibliophilatelist in Recife. Scientific literature was accessed through BRAPCI, BDTD Capes and SciELO. The survey resulted in a sample of 31 editions of the Catalog produced between 1975 and 2019. This sample was grouped into 3 different time periods: 1975 to 1986,1987 to 1999 and 2000 to 2019 and the data tabulated in Excel. Historical and editorial aspects, data on layout, printing, physical constitution and information architecture were identified. It was concluded that the Catalog has its brand consolidated in Brazil and abroad. It represents the symbolic work of collaborative knowledge between philatelic collectors and traders. It is proposedfor future studies that the Catalog goes beyond graphic studies and information organization and fits into the field of cultural transfer of transatlantic knowledge and the history of the book. It ratifies the postage stamp and its information regime as an object of research in several and different areas.

Résumé :
The need for clean and sustainable energy sources has witnessed a sudden upsurge in recent years owing to rising environmental degradation and climate disruption brought on by an overdependence on fossil fuels [1-3]. Electrochemical energy conversion technology is a crucial complement to the storage and on-demand utilization of renewable energy resources [4-6]. Rechargeable aqueous zinc ion batteries (AZIBs) have gained a significant research upsurge in recent times owing to their attractive potential for large-scale energy storage applications. In addition to low cost and naturally abundant raw materials, AZIBs technology offers competitive electrochemical performance and compatibility with water-based electrolyte systems, thereby eliminating the safety concerns associated with prevalent lithium-based battery technology. Moreover, multivalent AZIBs offer the opportunity to attain high energy and power density by permitting multiple electron transfers during reversible electrochemical operations [7]. In the context of AZIBs, significant research efforts are being actively pursued to develop high energy density cathode materials and to address the issue of Zn dendrite formation [8]. However, the selection of stable and low-cost current collectors is equally important as it serves as a bridge between the battery components and the external circuit, thereby influencing the battery capacity and its rate capability [9-10]. In this work, we have analyzed the electrochemical behavior of potential current collectors that are used globally in battery applications, namely Ni, Al, carbon paper, Cu mesh, graphite, and stainless steel in near-neutral aqueous ZnSO4 electrolyte (pH value = 5-6). The electrochemical stability of different current collectors has been investigated using linear sweep voltammetry and chronoamperometry techniques for their application as anode and cathode collectors. Scanning electron microscopy analysis has also been performed to understand the sign of corrosion post-electrochemical study. With stability up to 2.3 V w.r.t. Zn/Zn2+, Ni has proved to be the most corrosion-resistant current collector among the tested collectors on the cathode side. Although Zn itself is sufficiently stable at the anode side than any other current collector under the ZnSO4 electrolyte environment, Ni has shown considerable stability. Nonetheless, understanding the electrochemical stability of current collectors for AZIBs is a vital step in their design and future practical applications. Résumé :
Book bindings of the 18th century, like all bindings of the period of hand press, are unique objects of individual labour, they were made to order and could be done much later than the date of printing. Russian bindings of this time are overwhelmingly anonymous, do not have the stamp and signature of the bookbinder or any written evidence of the binding customer, which makes it difficult to attribute them. The Department of Rare Books (Book Museum) of the Russian State Library (RSL) stores books by a major collector of the 18th century P.K. Khlebnikov, bound in the late 1750s — 1780s in one bookbinding workshop. The owner sought to record in super-exlibrises his career growth and changes in social status, and it helps to date the binding work within a frame of few years. The bindings were decorated with gold embossing using different stamps and roles. Over time, the bookbinderʼs tools were enriched, new stamps were used in embossing, and the old ones were put out of use. Linking the use of a particular stamp to a specific time helps to date other similar bindings made in the same workshop. So, impressions of stamps that came into use no earlier than 1775 were identified on the bindings of books from the library of Prince I.A. Vyazemsky. Identical prints are also found on bindings from other collections. The article provides an example of Russian edition of the 1730s in a luxurious morocco binding with a similar embossing. Information about the stamps used in P.K. Khlebnikovʼs bindings assisted to significantly adjust the time of the masterʼs work and date the binding to the second half of the 1770s — 1780s.Thus, it is obvious that the identification value of individual stamps of gold tooling when describing the bindings of the 18th century is high. The detailed description of decorative elements with photofixation of prints, the creation of a kind of stamp bank would make it possible to identify other arrays of bindings of close origin, and biographical knowledge about the owners would help both in the localization of hypothetically reconstructed bookbinding workshops and in more accurate dating of samples.

Résumé :
This research is a qualitative research. Data collection was carried out using the interview method. This study aims to find out facts about passion investment in classic car collectors in Semarang. In recent years, the investment trend in Indonesia has increased. One alternative investment that is in demand is investing in art. Items that have works of art such as antiques can be used as an investment. In 2023 the number of investors investing in classic cars has increased from the previous year. In addition, over the past decade investing in classic cars has financially done better than many other collectibles such as stamps or coins. In this study generate data regarding the facts of investing in classic cars. Potential investors need significant knowledge about classic cars because not all old cars can be considered classics. The car is rare or available everywhere. Classic cars are depreciable assets, so it is very important for investors to know how to maintain the value of classic cars. Investing in classic cars is a little risky because to generate a reasonable return, investors must buy the vehicle and repair or maintain it before reselling it. Most classic car investors view their investments as a hobby rather than a method of making material gains.

Résumé :
Ivan Skušek Jr. (1877–1947), whose collection of Chinese and Japanese objects has been the subject of research and interest in recent years, can be considered the first collector of East Asian objects in the Slovene ethnic space to have built his collection systematically, examining and verifying the provenance, value, and significance of each item. His extensive collection can compare to Western European collections of East Asian objects while at the same time bearing a stamp of local uniqueness pertaining to the European periphery. Skušek’s legacy includes an important collection of Chinese money from all periods of Chinese history, which is introduced in this paper for the first time. A crucial distinction between this and other collections of Chinese coins is that evidence exists that tells us how Skušek collected the coins, and reveals a lot about his sources and advisors. It has long been known that during his stay in Beijing Skušek befriended many influential and knowledgeable people, including a Franciscan missionary, Fr. Maurus Kluge, who assisted him in assembling his numismatic collection. The paper presents the cooperation between the two in the light of a recent find––the original list and summary appraisal of the most valuable part of Skušek’s numismatic collection and Kluge’s letters to Skušek.

Résumé :
in the article are collected in the form of a corpus the stamps of the initial period of the systematic marking of amphorae in Knidos - stamps with a “prora” or “ship bow” (chronological group Ib). A total of 323 stamps originating from the territory of the Bosporus, Chersonese and Olbia were taken into account. They are distributed unevenly. The main reason ist, that not all museum collections are available and processed. More than half of the stamps of our corpus have been checked against the originals and the rest are taken from IOSPE III and publications. Unfortunately, most of the IOSPE III stamps are not illustrated, moreover in many cases due to the absence of indications of museum numbers, or re-inventorying, certain difficulties arise, during comparing with items stored in museum collections. Most of the studied stamps are stored in the Kerch Museum. Additionally are also involved stamps from other regions of the Northern Black Sea and the Mediterranean areas. In general, the material presented below is the first attempt at a wide coverage of the stamps of this group, which, we hope, will simplify the cameral processing of poorly preserved specimens, and will help, by attracting additional materials, to take a fresh look at the trading activity of Cnidus in the early Hellenistic period.

Résumé :
The world-renowned physician, bibliophile, and McGill alumnus Sir William Osler (1849-1919) wrote that “a library represents the mind of its collector, his fancies and foibles, his strength and weakness, his prejudices and preferences.”[1] His own collection of medical and related works formed the nucleus of McGill’s Osler Library of the History of Medicine. Opened in 1929, the Osler Library is renowned for both its collection and the preservation of its founder’s memory and ethos. In 1920 Dr Casey Wood (1856-1942), a friend and contemporary of Osler’s, created the Wood Library of Ornithology and the Blacker Library of Zoology at McGill. The rare natural history material from these two libraries, now the Blacker-Wood natural history collection in Rare Books and Special Collections, rivals the Osler in its depth and rarity. Despite this, its founder remains largely unknown. Although it is understandable – Osler was as famous and loved as Wood was aggressive, overbearing and vain – it is unfortunate. Wood devoted tremendous energy, drive and money over decades to build one of the best natural history collections around. He also hoped that these libraries would engage in public education and encourage people to respect and enjoy the natural world. Although he could be an unpleasant person, it is useful to know something about the man whose collection so strongly bears his stamp. Résumé :
The article describes the contribution of the famous Ukrainian scientist Vasyl Matviyovych Chernyaev to the science of botany and the development of herbarium. Biographical data are given. Among the funds of Herbarium (UM) of the students of Uman School of Agriculture and Horticulture (the successor is Uman National University of Horticulture) is a valuable historical collection of exicates Herbarium Florae Rossicae (1897–1907). It was established that the collection of exicates includes 1920 herbarium specimens (h. s.), the students of the school were included in the serial issues and they presented the flora of Uman region (Kyiv prov.). There is also a collection of excerpts the famous German florist, collector lichenologist, mycologist and bryologist L. G. Rabenhosta (181 h. s., dated 1801, 1803) and V. M. Chernyaev (29 h. s., 1860, 1864). The processed collections of dendroflora from V. M Chernyaev are represented by ten families of the Angiosperms division: Anacardiaceae, Betulaceae, Cornaceae, Fagaceae, Moraceae, Rhamnaceae, Rosaceae, Salicaceae, Sapindaceae. Among them are species Morus alba L., Quercus robur L., Rhamnus cathartica L., which belong to plants with medicinal properties (Hb. medic. Hipp. Cerniaew). According to the archival materials of the University Museum and rare old prints of the library, it has been established that the preserved historical collection was а part of "The Main Herbarium of Uman School of Agriculture and Horticulture" and served as material in training of gardeners to study Botany and Ornamental Gardening. The historical milestones of the scientific life of the famous scientist, who created botanical courses during the period of his work, was the head of the botanical garden of Kharkiv University and improved the herbarium, were studied. His herbarium collections, which is now stored in herbarium institutions (CWU, KW, MSUD), were purchased to the educational institutions or, probably, they were a gift from a naturalist. In the herbarium collections of V. M. Chernyaev, according to the processed labels, the place of plant growth is not indicated, but only the years, taxa and the name of the collector. Therefore, it should be assumed that the collection is focused on study of the flora of Kharkiv region (1860, 1864) during the period of retirement. The taxonomic affiliation of herbarium collections is arranged in alphabetical order of taxa and checked according to the modern botanical nomenclature "World Flora Online", as some names are synonymous or absent, and currently have no official recognition. The primary database was created, the inventory number was assigned, the sheets were certified with a stamp with the title (Scientific Herbarium of Uman National University of Horticulture (UM), registered in 2016 in the international database Index Herbariorum (New York). Therefore, the scientific herbarium of Uman National University of Horticulture (UM) with its historical collections deserves the attention and can rightfully take a place among the leading herbariums of Ukraine.

Résumé :
Historic library collections offer a rich and underexplored resource for teaching undergraduate and graduate students about new digital approaches, methodologies, and platforms. Their scope and scale can make them difficult to analyze in their physical form, but remediated onto a digital platform, they offer valuable insights into the process of archive creation and the importance of making their content available to audiences that cannot normally access it. The Jesuit Libraries Provenance Project (JLPP) was launched by students, faculty, and library professionals in 2014 to create an online archive of marks of ownership—bookplates, stamps, inscriptions—contained within books from the original library collection of St. Ignatius College, precursor to Loyola University Chicago. The project grew out of student work for a university museum exhibition commemorating the bi-centennial of the restoration of the Society of Jesus (more commonly known as the Jesuits). Utilizing the popular social media image-sharing site Flickr, the JLPP seeks to foster a participatory community of students, scholars, collectors, and the broader public interested in the history of early and modern Catholic print and the intellectual framework and approach of 19th-century Jesuit education. Initially intended to provide students with the chance to learn how to conceptualize, plan, and build a digital archive, the JLPP has proven equally effective for teaching about digital scholarship, shared authority, and, rather unexpectedly, about the materiality of collections in the digital age

The article is intended to draw attention to problems common to all existing libraries: forming and picking out personal collections from ones that are more common, their history of existence study, identification, assigning in a single collection, preservation, popularization and accessibility to modern readers. The work is devoted to the theme of personal libraries in the era of paper books and digital technologies and includes materials presented in the series of webinars “Bibliosphere: New Formats” held by the State Public Scientific Technological Library of SB RAS in the summer of 2020. By a personal library the authors mean an ordered collection of books and other documents (electronic, handwritten, etc.), belonging to an individual or family, formed by him / them for personal use. The problems presented in the article concern personal libraries formation in the late XIX – early XXI century: composition and design peculiarities of bibliophile collections; practice of using stamps as a sign of ownership on books; variety of marking personal book collections (super ex-librises, ex-librises, owner’s inscriptions, owner’s stamps, owner’s and book signs); approaches and preferences of personal libraries’ owners; fortunes of books and bibliophiles; problems of book collections preservation in the stocks all over the world; demand for personal collections by contemporaries: researchers, librarians, bibliophiles, readers/users.

For more than 150 years postcards all over the world have three main roles: a value-added receipt for a postage payment in advance, a means of celebrating and promoting national heritage and a collection of pieces. But above all, the postage stamp is a true ambassador of human history, culture and civilization, because its form and function give it freedom of movement and the ability to transmit information all over the world. Through this paper, the authors want to open a series of presentations of what has given valuable, over time, the philately of civilization and human culture and which is reflected in philatelic collections. There are fractions of images - as far as a stamp can be - with people and places, with flowers and landscapes, animals and protected habitats, with what we want to remain alive in the memory of our descendants - as an essential component of environmental policy And sustainable development.

Résumé :
The object of the study was a representative collection of ceramic vessels (324 specimens) of the Potchevash culture of the VI–IX centuries, obtained during archaeological research in 1997 at the Dolgovskoye 1 settlement in the Tobolsk Irtysh region. The purpose of the study: to determine the main morphological and decorative features of the ceramic complex of the Potchevash culture based on the materials of the collection of the Dolgovskoye 1 settlement, to determine the place of the ceramic complex of the settlement in the system of archaeological cultures of Western Siberia. Based on the purpose of the study, the following tasks were put forward: characterization of the main morphological, decorative and stylistic characteristics of the ceramic collection; comparison with the materials of synchronous monuments of adjacent territories, determination of the degree of their similarities and differences. The relevance of the work is determined by the small number of publications in which statistical calculations on Potchevash ceramics are given. To solve the tasks set in the work, traditional research methods are used for historical science: comparative-historical, typological, comparative-typological, formal-stylistic, descriptive method of analyzing material sources, the method of analogies. As a result of the study, it was found that the dominant features of the studied complex include the numerical predominance of pot-shaped vessels with a high neck and a sharp transition to a slightly expanded body; the ornamentation is characterized by a combination of dimpled pearl decor, combed stamp and horizontal drawn grooves, as well as a small proportion of curly stamps. A comparative analysis showed the proximity of the ceramics of the Dolgovskoye 1 settlement with the collections of a number of Potchevash monuments of the South Taiga Irtysh region and the Barabinsk forest-steppe, as well as its significant difference from both the Potchevash ceramic complexes from the Priishimye region and ceramics from the monuments of the Zelenogorsky stage from the Surgut Ob region. A certain similarity with the ceramics of the Kuchiminsky stage, which is expressed in the rare use of figured stamps, a large proportion of grooves, fixed on ceramics from the 1997 excavation from the Dolgovskoye 1 settlement, allows us to suggest its synchronicity with the Kuchiminskaya and date it within the VIII–IX centuries AD.

Résumé :
Heterobasidion irregulare is a basidiomyceteous forest pathogenic fungus which causes a root disease capable of killing large trees. Infection probability is proportional to the density of aerial basidiospores infecting freshly cut stumps. The purpose of this study was to quantify for the first time H. irregulare aerial basidiospore density in southern Québec and to determine the importance of a local basidiospore load from a nearby infested plantation. Spore counts from automated rotary arm spore collectors were assayed using a ribosomal ITS TaqMan real-time PCR detection assay. Cumulative basidiospore deposits on a 30-cm stump were estimated to be highest in the infected plantation with 2.37 basidiospores per stump, with decreasing count of 0.52 basidiospores at a 500-m distance and 0.46 basidiospores at a 1.5-km distance. At 5 km from the infected plantation, the number of basidiospores deposited on a stump was 0.22, a value similar to those at distances of 25 and 140 km. Since a single Heterobasidion basidiospore may travel as far as 500 km, the level detected at 5 km may represent the background basidiospore load resulting from long-distance dispersal, and basidiospores from a nearby infected plantation are unlikely to be an added risk of infection to plantations located more than 5 km away. Long distance aerial basidiospore dispersal will remain for now the most important constant source of infectious H. irregulare in Québec. Despite the very low risk level per stump in this study, the large number of trees thinned annually warrants that stump treatment with Rotstop® C is still the best strategy, especially in valuable plantations.

Résumé :
The article is devoted to the problem of the spread of Soviet collecting in the international environment through a specially created organization of the Philatelic International in the 1920s and 1930s. The research was conducted on the materials of the journal "Soviet Philatelist", later transformed into "Soviet Collector", and the appendix to the magazine in a foreign language Radio de Filintern. The appeal to this topic is due to the significant side of political, economic and cultural ideas on the international agenda of the RSFSR, and later the USSR. At the same time, collecting itself as a cultural and leisure practice has undergone a metamorphosis from its own apolitical nature to politically engaged activities. The leadership of Soviet collectors' organizations considered philately and bonistics as a significant channel for introducing foreign citizens to the achievements of socialist society. The very activity of collectors was considered as a means to help a person come to socialist values by collecting and studying Soviet stamps, according to the canons of "ideological collecting". The purpose of the article is to describe the activities of the Philatelic International according to the chronological principle. The author concludes that the Filintern was a typical quasi-social formation in the structure of the Communist International, aiming to promote the values of the Soviet state among foreign communities of collectors. It is noted that the activities of the Philatelic International were nominal and short-term in nature, influencing a small number of people due to the small number of collectors in principle and a larger proportion of Soviet citizens among the participants of the organization.

Résumé :
A novel method of extracting color information on a pixel-by-pixel basis or by the average of the regions of interest (ROIs) from digital images is proposed and demonstrated using newly developed and customized image-processing/analysis software (PicMan). For quantitative and statistical analyses of color, the newly developed software can be used for digital archive or digital forensic applications in various fields. The color differences between unrelated, similar, or identical scenes and or objects were quantified in various formats of desired color spaces such as RGB, HSV, XYZ, CIE L*a*b*, Munsell color, and hexadecimal color values. The color differences were visualized as images of pixel-by-pixel mapping of the ΔL*, Δa*, Δb*, ΔERGB, ΔEHSV, and ΔE*L*a*b* values and block comparison images of desired block sizes. Various color analyses and color-difference mapping examples using an aged and damaged oil painting before and after restoration were introduced. The effects of the image file format differences between PNG and JPG on color distortion are demonstrated by statistics and pixel-by-pixel color-difference mapping. A portrait of Chuk-ki Yoo (兪拓基, 1691–1767) on silk from the 18th century from Korea was used for further color analysis for whole and selected areas. A collector’s ownership stamp of Chuk-ki Yoo stamped in red ink on the text areas in one of his book collections was extracted using the image-processing software and superimposed on the original image as a visualization enhancement example. Image analysis, processing, modification, enhancement, and highlighting, as well as statistical color analysis of digital images in most formats, can conveniently and efficiently be performed using one piece of dedicated software (PicMan). The pixel-by-pixel color information extraction and color comparison technique can be very effective for a variety of applications in art and cultural heritage objects.

Résumé :
Current research is focused on developing active materials through surface functionalization, porosity, composites, and doping for ultrafast electric double layer capacitors (EDLCs). In this study, deviating from existing strategies focused on active materials, we designed tunable 3D microgrid-patterned (MP) surface morphologies on Ni foams used as current collectors using SUS meshes as rigid stamps during roll pressing. The surface geometries of the MP-Ni foams were controlled to standard mesh scales of 24, 40, and 60 (denoted as 24MP-Ni, 40MP-Ni, and 60MP-Ni, respectively). The three MP-Ni samples with different microgrid sizes presented different surface geometries, such as root-mean-square roughness (Rrms), skewness roughness (Rsk), and width/depth scales of the microgrid patterns. Consequently, 40MP-Ni demonstrated an optimized surface geometry with high Rrms (35.4 μm) and Rsk (−0.19) values, which facilitated deep slurry infiltration and increased its contact area with the active material. Surface optimization of the MP-Ni enabled ultrafast and reversible charge transport kinetics owing to its relaxed electron transfer resistance and robust adhesion to the active material compared with bare Ni foam. EDLC electrodes with 40MP-Ni achieved an ultrafast-rate capability (96.0 F/g at 20 A/g) and ultrafast longevity (101.9% capacity retention after 5000 cycles at 5 A/g) without specific modification of active material.

Résumé :
The article investigates insufficiently researched issues related to A. I. Klibanov’s book collection. The review of the detected autographs, exlibris and ownership stamps provides an opportunity to determine custodial history of books from both state libraries and personal collections, as well as to reveal unique information about relationships and cooperation between medieval scholars in the second half of the 20th century. The dedicatory inscriptions on the books differ in their length and originality; therefore, their significance as a source is directly proportional to how close a sender and a receiver were. Identification and description of bookplates and stamps in the study of the “Klibanovskaya” collection, still unknown from available reference books, will help in the study of other memorial book collections where such provenance marks can be found. The article also details the features of the formation of the foreign part of the A. I. Klibanov’s book collection. The foreign part of the memorial book collection, which is relatively small compared with the entire collection, can be divided into several thematic blocks: books with autographs donated by researchers dealing with similar scientific problems as the owner of the collection; multi-temporal books on historical and religious subjects, acquired by the owner; instances not related to the previous two blocks. The article identifies, systematizes and describes the inscriptions and ownership marks on the books of the collection of A. I. Klibanov.

Abstract The present paper deals with an analysis of medieval culinary and medical recipes. A major feature which will be of interest is the use of measure terms. The research has been based on material from 14th and 15th century recipe collections. First, the major weight and measure systems which were used in the Middle English period will be presented. Then, the measure terms used in the analysed texts are collected and categorised into three groups: specific, non-specific, and container-related terms. The study, apart from showing the variety of measure terms used at the time, also compares two types of recipes, i.e., medical and culinary.

Résumé :
225 Background: Between June and December 2019, hematology-oncology patients admitted for elective chemotherapy at Memorial Regional Hospital had a median delay of 10 hours to initiate chemotherapy infusion from time of admission. This contributes to increased cost to the healthcare system and patient dissatisfaction. By September 2020, elective inpatient median time from admission to chemotherapy initiation at Memorial Regional Hospital will be reduced by 20%. Methods: Multidisciplinary team formed to evaluate the time from admission to initiation of chemotherapy for patients who are electively admitted for chemotherapy in 8 Central based on time stamps available in the electronic health records. Patients electively admitted by a non MCI oncologist were excluded. Data collections included time stamp between each process from admission to administration of 1st chemotherapy. Longest time lapse between each process was counted as an occurrence/contributor to delay. Top 80% contributors identified from Pareto chart allowed team to identify countermeasures. Priority Matrix of implementation in PDSA cycle based on highest impact and ease of implementation. Statistical process control chart was developed. Results: (see table). Conclusions: PDSA Cycle 1, obtaining labs 24-48 hours prior to admission, resulted in a 10% reduction in chemotherapy initiation time. PDSA Cycle 2, enhancing “ok to treat” communication, resulted in a further reduction of time to treatment. The combination of PDSA Cycle 1 & 2 resulted in a 40% reduction in time to chemotherapy initiation, exceeding the planned aim of 20%. Balance measures reflected no reduction in the mean number of overnight stays between baseline and PDSA Cycle 2 (4 nights) that could contribute to a decreased cost. Results and recommendations to adopt at all inpatient oncology departments within the healthcare system will be presented to leadership for support. Data automation through collaborative efforts with information technology is in process to assist with continuous monitoring. Future state, the quality improvement tools gained from ASCO QTP will be utilized to evaluate and improve workflow issues in the outpatient oncology setting. Nationally recognized organizations are encouraged to propose a benchmark for admission time to first chemotherapy administration based on the evaluation of current available data. Additional studies are needed to evaluate chemotherapy treatment delays in other settings.[Table: see text]

Résumé :
Ulcer perforation remains a life-threatening disease, which can be treated in several surgical approaches, however in some cases an emergency gastrectomy is the only option. Emergency gastrectomy has been associated to high morbidity and local mortality rates, namely systemic complications, such as, duodenal stump leak, gastrojejunostomy leakage and intra-abdominal collections. The treatment of gastrojejunostomy leakage, is still generating controversy, despite nowadays, the conservative approach is preferred. We present a clinical case of a 62-years-old male patient, in which a gastrojejunal leakage occurred, after emergency gastrectomy due to an ulcer perforation. Computed tomography of the abdomen did reveal peritoneal liquid near duodenal stump and gastrojejunostomy with no oral extravasation. At 24th post-operatory day, the patient deteriorated and we decided to perform a laparotomy exploration. Identified and treated, 2 small leakages (6 mm each), on the anterior face of the gastrojejunal anastomosis, using directed fistulization with Pezzer catheters. The patient was kept under total parenteral nutrition followed by enteral feeding and anti-microbial therapeutic. At the consultation, Radiography with oral contrast and Computed Tomography Scan with intravenous and oral contrast showed no evidence of anastomotic leak or abscesses, showing the success of this therapeutic approach.

Résumé :
Abstract Although Verb-Object (VO) is the basic unmarked constituent order of predicates in Present-Day English, in earlier stages of the language Object-Verb (OV) is the preferred pattern in some syntactic contexts. OV predicates are significantly frequent in Old and Middle English, and are still attested up to 1550, when they “appear to dwindle away” (Moerenhout & van der Wurff 2005: 83). This study looks at OV in Early Modern English (EModE), using a corpus-based perspective and statistical modelling to explore a number of textual, syntactic, and semantic/processing variables which may account for what by that time had already become a marked, though not yet archaic, word-order pattern. The data for the study were retrieved from the Penn-Helsinki Parsed Corpus of Early Modern English (1500–1710) and the Parsed Corpus of Early English Correspondence (c.1410–1695), the largest electronic parsed collections of EModE texts. The findings reveal a preference for OV in speech-related text types, which are less constrained by the rules of grammar, in marked syntactic contexts, and in configurations not subject to the general linearisation principles of end-weight and given-new. Where these principles are complied with, the probability of VO increases.

Résumé :
Hugo Scheu (1845–1937), a cultural activist and the owner of an estate in Heydekrug (now Šilutė), gathered copious art collections, was interested in Lithuanian studies and had a valuable personal library. However, his valuable collections of artworks and publications in Lithuanian studies were scattered after the storms of World War II – some were destroyed, others found their way into memory institutions. There is still a dearth of comprehensive research for a reconstruction of Scheu’s personal library. There are no special historiographic works concerning its history. Furthermore, there is not enough information to fully envisage this once valuable library or to figure out how and when its books came to the Wroblewski Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. Some of the books formerly owned by Hugo Scheu were distributed among institutions, others dispersed or destroyed. It is presently known that eighteen publications previously owned by Scheu are held in the Šilutė Museum, one in the Šiauliai County Povilas Višinskis Library, others in the Wroblewski Library. The present article aims to analyze Sheu’s books now kept in the Wroblewski Library based on press publications related to the landowner’s library. The article for the first time describes the heritage of Hugo Sheu’s personal library kept in the Wroblewski Library. At least fifteen publications previously owned by Sheu were identified in the course of the research. All of them have ownership marks (stamps). De visu examination of Sheu’s publications kept in the Wroblewski Library revealed that the landowner had five different types of ownership-confirming stamps. The personal library of Hugo Sheu is established to have been diverse in subjects – it included publications in ethnography, history, natural sciences and other disciplines. Résumé :
The article explores editions and copies of the Ostroh Bible of 1581, which belongs to the treasures of the world printing heritage and the main sacred books of the Orthodox and Christian world in general. The Ostroh Bible is also considered to be the most researched monument of Ukrainian printed book culture. The author summarizes information about the sources of the Ostroh Bible and identifies copies that belonged to the nobles who lived near Ostroh for some time and were probably involved in the work of the Ostroh intellectual group (Severyn Malyushytsky, Vasyl Zenkovych Tykhynsky and Valentyn Nehalevsky). The Bibles from their collections have old coverings, notes as to whom the book belonged, the readers’ comments, which is an interesting source for the history of reading and reflection upon the Holy Scripture throughout the centuries. The article summarizes information about the preserved copies of the Ostroh Bible and their presentation in Ukrainian collections. More detailed information about the copy of the publication from the collection of the National University "Ostroh Academy" (records, stamps, features of cover, paper filigrees, etc.) is provided.

Résumé :
AbstractLeaks/dehiscence of the enteral stump associated with infected peri-enteric collections after upper gastrointestinal surgery are a life-threatening adverse event, not usually endoscopically treatable. We describe a new endoscopic approach to treat complex entero-cutaneous fistulas (CECF) by creating a “suction room” through placement of multiple stents (enteral, biliary and/or pancreatic) and a large nose-enteral suction tube inside the enteral stent maintained on a continuous negative aspiration suction.Between January 2016 and December 2019, six consecutive patients referred to our unit with CECF of the enteral stump after failed redo surgeries underwent creation of a “suction room.” In five patients, enteral, biliary and pancreatic stents were positioned before a nose-to-stent or nose-to-collection large 18 Fr tube placement. In one patient, a pancreatic stent was not placed. Technical and clinical success were achieved in all patients. Mean and median times of aspiration were 49 and 27 days, respectively, with a mean hospital stay of 56 days after the endoscopic procedure. Stents were successfully removed. Mean post-procedural follow-up was 17.3 months.Endoscopic creation of the “suction room” offers the unique possibility of treating complex entero-cutaneous fistulas in surgically altered sites, which are difficult to manage with standard endoscopic methods.

Résumé :
The article presents one of the largest collections of Posolskaya-type ceramics in the Angara region, which was found at the Ust-Khaita site. The Posolskaya-type ceramics has several unresolved problems in the field of chronology, technology, and correlation with other groups of Neolithic ceramics. In this regard, it is important to publish collections of Posolskaya ceramics from multilayered sites such as Ust-Khaita. The site locates in the middle reaches of the Belaya River on the territory of Mishelevka village. The excavations had been carried out in 2000 and the results were not fully published. The largest number of Posolskaya ceramics was found in layer 4. In addition, some of the fragments were found in layer 5 and single specimens in layers 6, 5a, and 3, which is associated with the activity of earth-moving animals and insects. In this article, we describe the Ust-Khaita’s Posolskaya ceramics and analyze its morphology, technology, and decor. In total, we examined 89 fragments from at least 18 vessels. In terms of size, the Ust-Khaita’s vessels are divided into two groups. The first includes small pots with a diameter of 12–17 cm (4 pots) and the second larger ones with a diameter of 24–36 cm (6 pots). The vessels have a simple closed shape or closed with weak profiling. All vessels have a thickening of the rim in the form of a triangular or oval molding or using an additional layer of clay. The ornament is located at the top part of the vessel. The rims of almost all vessels are decorated on the outside with impressions of a comb stamp placed directly or at an angle (in one case a zigzag from a series of such a stamp) and have a belt of round holes, which is located over the line made by tracing or using the retreat technique. Below the rim, the composition continues with horizontal carved lines, or a receding blade with a triangular working edge and ends with a series of separate pricks or triangular figures. The outer surface of the vessels is covered with impressions of a cord or ribbed scapula. Perhaps some of the vessels are smooth-walled. Posolskaya type vessels were made of ferruginous sandy clay without artificial additives by the method of zonal patchwork molding. Since there are no AMS dates for the layer 4 of Ust-Khaita, the age of the complex with the Posolakaya-type ceramics is determined based on similar 14C-dated sites with the Posolskaya ceramics in the range of ~6,7–6,3 ka cal BP.
