This Master´s Thesis is concerned with freedom at work. The aim of this thesis, is describe, analyse and evaluate the concept "Freedom at work" in three particular companies. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines the theoretical basis, principles and methods related to this area. Data are largely based on the academic literature. The practical part represents best practices of liberal companies abroad. In this part selected companies Etnetera a.s., IReSoft, s.r.o. and Country Life, s.r.o. are presented. There is also analysis of democratic principles in these companies, survey, survey evaluation and formulation of recommendations. To achieve the goals of this work are used these methods: comparison of theory with practice, interviews with the members of the personnel department and the director, interviews with employees of liberal companies, analysis of internal documents and questionnaires. The acquisition of this work is a formulation of recommendations that emerged from the comments and suggestions of employees in the questionnaire survey.

Companies running a business in the 21st century are facing heavily turbulent environment full of changes. Highest profiting companies are mainly those that can react to the changes faster and better than their competitors. However, basic work principles and methods of work organizing slowly stop suiting the needs of turbulent and change-demanding business environment. These principles simply aren't flexible enough. The right answer to higher flexibility demand could be freedom at work. This thesis examines the influence of freedom at work on selected economic indicators of companies operating in the field of information technology, especially their performance. The theoretical part describes freedom and responsibility, as well as concept of freedom at work and characterizes typical signs of classical and liberal companies. The empirical part defines a model that is capable of determining a level of freedom of any organization. This model is then applied to the sample of surveyed IT companies. After determining the level of freedom for each of the surveyed companies, companies are subsequently involved in the research examining the impact of freedom at work on performance, productivity and wage cost per employee of IT companies.

The main concern of this master thesis is in the relation between management control systems and management style. In particular it is the management style called liberating leadership, which is characteristic for so called democratic companies, that is subject of the research. The main goal of this thesis is to examine whether it is possible to establish management control systems in such companies given the principles they are built on. Further question is whether and eventually how this management style should be reflected in management control system. The answer to the latter question is introduced using also the outcomes of survey conducted among the executives of companies that endorse the principles of democratic workplace.

The focus of this diploma thesis is to describe the position of ex-prisoners on the labour market and how their operations on that market influence the society. In this paper, I will be looking into the social and state budget costs that these people cause, and why we can consider them as another vulnerable group on the labour market. The factors that lower their chances to succeed are lower productivity, level of education, and also statistical discrimination by employers that leads to demanding expectations on possessing a clean record. I will also focus my attention to the solutions that are currently in place in the Czech Republic, as success on the labour market is an important element to lowering the relapse rate. In the Czech Republic, the relapse rate is between 60 to 65 percent, which is lot higher than in other countries that have been trying to solve this problem for a longer period of time. This thesis confirms the hypothesis that this problem in the Czech Republic is not being treated on the same level as in other countries, and therefore we could learn and apply other solutions from abroad. Half-way houses have proven to be an effective solution and it would be good to put them into practice in Czech Republic as well.

The main goal of this thesis is to analyze the effectiveness of activities helping people released from an execution of punishment with integrating into the Czech labour market. Attention is drawn to the research question whether the monitored activities reduce reconviction of persons released from a prison and whether they increase their employability. The thesis concludes by identifying main problems of employing the target group and offers recommendation for their solution. The hypothesis about the impact of supportive programmes on the recidivism was not confirmed; on the other hand the positive impact of activities conducted by some non-profit organizations on the employability of released prisoners was affirmed. The recommendation of this thesis is to support the activities of non-profit organizations. This recommendation is supported by the results of a survey among the employers.

This thesis deals with a social curator, a specialized social worker profession. The first part describes attributes of humanity and ethical cathegories, which were chosen acording to the aim of this thesis and which were emhasized as important pillars in the work of a social curator. The next part of the thesis contains description of a target group with which the social curator works and it also describes the mainly occuring types of clients. In the third part of the thesis there is a list and evaluation of all the pillars that the social curator needs with the emphasis put on their meaning for their job. As a main source the author uses a czech legislation, which names a target group of the social curator as well as she uses an ethical code, which is not legaly binding, but it is a outline for a good quality work of all of social workers. It is important to always také into account the maturity and morally formed personaly of the social curator and also their knowledge of ethics and ethical cathegories and their practical use.

The work deals with the selected ethical concepts of social work, such as human and person, freedom, conscience, values, suffering and death. These concepts are thoughtful and their understanding is deepened on the basis of the texts of Viktor Emil Frankl. In the work the personality of V. E. Frankl is presented, his method of logotherapy and existential analysis, further are presented the fields of ethics and social work. The selected concepts are introduced as they are introduced in the work of V. E. Frankl and in the works of representatives of existential philosophy whose approaches Frankl used. There is also evaluated the relevance of these concepts for ethics of social work on the basis of monographs and on the basis of the academic articles of the authors dealing with ethics in social work.The work pointed out the potential benefits of logotherapy and existential analysis of ethics of social work during the application of Frankl's psychotherapeutic methods into the fields of social work.

In this dissertation I am analysing certain aspects of labour, especially the ones that are of significant interest to moral philosophy within the church and its catholic doctrine. In the same time I identify the foundation for freedom and dignity of labouring human being that are being degraded especially in the present time economisation process. Further, I outline the issues associated with the changes within the division of labour from industrial revolution to present day and in the same time I present issues connected with labouring human being vs. human capital. Because freedom is the foundation of humanity I also describe issues connected with human rights in the context of universal and natural law. In this way I analyse Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its defence in an intercultural environment. Lastly, besides those theoretical concepts, I evaluate an Amnesty International CR project called "Business That is Worth It" which aims at supporting companies to a responsible management of employees rights protection especially in developing countries.

The thesis deals with coaching as social work tool and with its ethical aspects in relationship to individual. It is divided into three parts. In the first part, I define the coaching itself, as well as its solution and its types. I also distinguish the coaching from different types of social work, such as counselling and therapy; then I set the coaching into social work helping scope. The second part is focused on the relationship between the client and the helping worker while using coaching. Here I present the relationship paradigms, the helping worker aspect (with emphasis on competence and personal disposition) and the client aspect (with focus on his conception and his inner world). This part deals with the topic of help and control as well. In the third part I look into ethical aspects that are crucial in the client's and worker's relationship, aspects that follow from the definition of this relationship from the second part of the thesis, such as freedom, dignity, respect, autonomy, self-determination, worker's personality, preferences, responsibility, conscience and power.

The main aim of my thesis is to develop an analysis of current legislation governing alternative sentences, their possibilities and limits comparing it with other European Union countries. The thesis also examines the proposals de lege ferenda that could be used as a benchmark and a guide for future amendments to the current regulation. The notion of alternative sentencing became a global trend in the last two to three decades; this is the result of, inter alia, of continuous increase in the number of inmates, prison overcrowding and congestion of the judicial apparatus. Crescent crime and new forms of crime (especially economic) hit the Czech Republic as a former socialist country in the post-revolutionary times, very assertive. The results of studies and language experts warn against lax approach in the form of increased storage imprisonment and criminal policy tightening. There is also talk about crisis imprisonment. It is clear that an unconditional sentence of imprisonment has its benefits, such as preventive effect, in my opinion, however, the left especially serious crime offenders and recidivist behavior: "Nesit summum malum dolor, malum certe est." The subject of the thesis "Aspects of corporate culture from the viewpoint of Christian ethics" is to analyze the phenomenon of corporate culture in the perspective of Christian ethics and the requirements of sustainable development as the basic prerequisite for sustainable development of life on Earth. An integral part of the research is to explore the terms under which employees are willing not only to meet the tasks set by their employers, but also provide their best abilities and skills for the good of their enterprise. PaedDr. Eva Šotolová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The thesis presents the agenda of the Probation and Mediation Service and it's approach to offenders and victims of crime in the agenda of probation workers. It focuses on the area of re-offending and the possibility of reducing reoffending through appropriate follow-up services for conditionally released persons with probation supervision. The thesis analyses the problems resulting in the unsuccessful reconciliation of persons released from prison, in accordance with the aim of the thesis based on combined research (respondents were all probation workers in the Czech republic), as well as proposing possibilities for further development of work with conditionally released persons with probation supervision, and suggests systematic measures that could reduce the risk and rate of re-offending. "Za svobodu" "For freedom" - Czechoslovak coup d'état in 1948 "Za svobodu" "akce Skaut" ("operation Scout") which is considered to be the largest provocatio ("maj. Král" Maj. Král "illegal" associate Josef Damián (agent of the State Security) also managed to infiltrate the group of Josef Vlasatý, which later "cpt. Hrdý". Josef Vlasatý, a former Josef Vlasatý had - Vysočany. Karel Strmiska formed his own subgroup composed of active of them were members of the "old" police gendarmery of the so called "first republic". With the help of inand Třebícký, a former head of the police forces, Josef Vlasatý established contacts - - ý since the summer of of the "central bureau of the resistance movement" cooperating with the exile. In 1950 the tate Security gained Josef Vlasatý's trust and documentation of the group's activities, although written by the State Security agents, is thus people were convicted in connection with Josef Vlasatý's group, whic one of the largest political processes of 1950's. This thesis addresses aspects of helping professions that could represent a certain ?risk? of using power; it especially focuses on a social work sphere. In the first part, the thesis deals with basic terms that are essential for this issue. It pays attention to power itself and its specifications and connections to the helping professions. Further, it focuses on characteristics of terms that apply to the helping professions and social work or on a formulation of aspects which represent a risk of an improper use of power. In addition, it deals with the topics of burnout, helper?s syndrome or supervision as spheres that are closely related to the topic. The second part of the thesis refers to the necessity of ethics application in social work and in the helping professions in general. It is based on values from which the helping professions arise and which are crucial to them. It focuses on the Code of Ethics of social workers as a tool to solve ethical problems and on its justification in social work. It attempts to introduce ethical theories which are crucial and relevant to this sphere, and further - on the basis of these theories - to outline the basic ethical principles which play an important role in the ethical justification of proper decisions and in the use of power in the context of helping professions. The aim of this thesis is to describe an ethical framework of helping professions themselves and subsequently to analyze the problem of power in helping professions. This will be used as a basis on which to formulate basic ethical starting points that should be taken into account during the execution of helping professions.

The aim of this diploma thesis is the comparison between cartoons published in two wide-nation newspapers by examples of major political events in Czechoslovakia between 1945 - 1948. In order to achieve this objective I used a comparative-historical method. I deliberately worked with issues that had divided the public and political representation. I focused on inequality in the way of exposing and selection of the content of cartoons. The Selection of newspapers was not random, because representativeness was my main criterion. Svobodné slovo was based on the tradition of the party list and its contents were corrected by the party leadership of the Czechoslovak National Socialist Party, which formed together with the Czechoslovak People's Party internal opposition to the Czechoslovak Communist Party in the National Front. Daily Práce was a new paper which represented the views of the Central Council of Trade Unions, which were initially under the strong influence of the Communists. Práce belonged to a wide block of the media who supported the policy of the Communists. I have divided the referenced period 1945 - 1948 into three consecutive time-related phases. This diploma thesis deals with the topic of social enterpreneurship in the Czech Republic and is specifically focused on the work integration of particular needy groups (such as ex-convicts, long- term unemployed, disabled persons and former alcohol or drug addicts etc.). The aim of the thesis is to identify patterns and regularities between specific groups and types of social enterprises they work for. The secondary data analysis explores social enterprises registered at czech social enterpreneurship website as well as the groups they employ and compares different approches of the enterprises. The qualitative empirical research uncovers enterpreneurs' motives and furthermore explores connections between the types of social enterprises and the target groups they employ.

The thesis investigates social workers' interpretation and approach to quality standards of social services, both in terms of lived experience, and in terms of individual concepts and understanding of the workers themselves, especially with regard to their experience in a particular organization. The thesis also deals with the interpretation and approach of social workers to the protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms of clients in quality standards. The thesis theoretically describes and depicts the current situation regarding quality standards and the forthcoming changes. Interpretations and approaches to quality standards are investigated by the analysis of interviews with social workers on this issue. The thesis deals with the protection of human rights in social services and their guarantee in the form of selected quality standards, and examines quality standards in terms of values, rights and freedoms of clients that they are protecting. This work describes whether and how social workers perceive values, human rights and freedoms that are behind quality standards of social services and how they interpret them and use them in their practice, as evidenced by opinions of the social workers. Quality Standards of social services are also investigated in terms of ethics, particularly ethical values and analyzes the approach of social workers to quality standards.

My work analyses the legislation changes in the area of social and legal protection of children in the Czech Republic that have been introduced over the last two years. This work focuses on impacts of these changes in the practice of transferring children to substitute care as well as ethical aspects directly connected with this process. Laws impacting the social and legal protection of children are being compared in order to understand the legal rights of children. The consequences of the legislative changes have a direct effect on the processes of handing children to substitute care. The work is not only concerned with the practical impacts, but also with the ethical side of the problem which was identified as the most important in my thesis. Case reports from my own practice provide a complementary evidence to the reader to better understand the process of placement of children into substitute care both at professional and ethical levels.
