Under sub-critical flow conditions, the presence of blockage (solid wastes and weeds) upstream of box coverage and the scours pattern downstream of the coverage was explored in this study. Area coverage is one of the key issues for wireless sensor networks. It aims at selecting a minimum number of sensor nodes to cover the whole sensing region and maximizing the lifetime of the network. In this paper, we discuss the energy-efficient area coverage problem considering boundary effects in a new perspective, that is, transforming the area coverage problem to the target coverage problem and then achieving full area coverage by covering all the targets in the converted target coverage problem. Thus, the coverage of every point in the sensing region is transformed to the coverage of a

The presence of interference has a significant impact on wireless network connections indoors. Because of the effects of multipath propagation, such as reflection, refraction, and scattering of radio waves by the structure of the building, the sent signal can usually be received in free space or via more than one pathway, and the consequence might be a phenomenon known as multipath fading. For different results, propagation models have been identified, which provide the propagation features of the initial evaluation. Distributed coverage aims to deploy a team of robots to move around a target area to perform sensing, monitoring, data collection, search, or distributed servicing tasks. This thesis investigates three variations of the coverage problem. First, we address the multi-robot single coverage of a target area. The aim is to guarantee that every accessible point in the area is visited in a finite time. Success of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) largely depends on whether the deployed network can provide desired area coverage with acceptable network lifetime. In hostile or harsh environments such as enemy territories in battlefields, fire or chemical spills, it is impossible to deploy the sensor nodes in a predeter- mined regular topology to guarantee adequate coverage. Random deployment is thus more practical and feasible for large target areas. On the other hand, random deployment of sensors is highly susceptible to the occurrence of coverage holes in the target area. A potential solution fo

Résumé :
To increase our understanding of induced seismicity, we develop and implement methods to enhance seismic monitoring capabilities in northeastern British Columbia (NE BC). We deploy two different machine learning models to identify earthquake phases using waveform data from regional seismic stations and utilize an earthquake database management system to streamline the construction and maintenance of an up-to-date earthquake catalogue. The completion of this study allows for a comprehensive catalogue in NE BC from 2014 to 2020 by building upon our previous 2014-2016 and 2017-2018 catalogues. Th
