This paper proposes a mathematical model for expressive timing in German late Romantic organ music based on Riemannian phrasing principles. The model is built following the symmetric hierarchical motivic scheme and then applied to the organ work of Max Reger. It was shown that music expressive content is carried by the model parameter defined as temporal elasticity. Along with the standard analytical and empirical evaluation, the model was also evaluated in terms of its naturalness. We found that the correlation between model and human performance is comparable with the correlation between dis

The natural inclination of human mind to get rid of pain and problems of life wanders for a different world. As a person, a Shakespearean character is defined not only by his / her mind only, but also by the body. In the plays we see individuals of different gender, age, health and appearance. The focus in this analysis is on the nature of the correspondence relation which connects a true statement and the cognitive object. The task of the Church is to transmit to people the truth revealed by Jesus Christ, which discloses the mystery of God and man, is accessible in faith, and appeals to the intellect to accept it. In these times, dominated by a pragmatic approach to reality, a question arises about the practical, existential meaning of the truth proclaimed by the Church. However, having rejected God of Judaism, Edith Stein experienced a kind of emptiness in her life which needed to be filled. Through a close reading of some of his poems, the paper demonstrates how unlike an ordinary person the poet found the truth about the world elusive. In this respect, his idea of truth corresponds with the image of the phenomenal world expounded by the illustrious German thinker, Immanuel Kant in his works.
