Résumé :
The concepts "connection", "parallel transport" and "transport along paths" are axiomatically defined. In differentiable bundles, bijective mappings between the sets of connections, parallel transports and transports along paths satisfying some additional conditions are found; in particular, the equivalence between the concepts "connection" and "(axiomatically defined) parallel transport" is established. Some results, which are specific for topological and vector bundles, are presented.

Critically, our approach does not require caching distributions in world space, saving time and memory, yet it is able to make guided sampling decisions based on whole paths. The yard template problem in container ports determines the assignment of space to store containers for the vessels, which could impact container truck paths. Actually, the travel time of container truck paths is uncertain. This paper considers the uncertainty from two perspectives: (1) the yard congestion in the context of yard truck interruptions, (2) the correlation among adjacent road sections (links). A mixed-integer programming model is proposed to minimize the travel time of container trucks. The reliable shortest path, which takes the correlation among links into account is firstly dis

In transport problems of Monge's types, the total cost of a transport map is usually an integral of some function of the distance, such as |x - y|p. In many real applications, the actual cost may naturally be determined by a transport path. For shipping two items to one location, a "Y shaped" path may be preferable to a "V shaped" path. Here, we show that any probability measure can be transported to another probability measure through a general optimal transport path, which is given by a vector measure in our setting. This formalism enables the computation of new distances or dissimilarities, interpolating between the shortest-path and the resistance distance, which have been shown to perform well in clustering and classification tasks. Résumé :
The fundamental understanding of the influence of molecular structure on the carrier transport properties in the field of organic thermoelectrics (OTEs) is a big challenge since the carrier transport behavior in conducting polymers reveals average properties contributed from all carrier transport channels, including those through intra-chain, inter-chain, inter-grain, and hopping between disordered localized sites. Here, combining molecular dynamics simulations and experiments, we investigated the carrier transport properties of doped highly oriented poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) films with di

Résumé :
Many previous cases have shown that port operations are susceptible to disruptive events. This paper proposes 2-stage Stochastic Programming (SP) for port users to reliably plan the hinterland-port intermodal freight network with consideration of risk aversion in cost. Probabilistic disruptions of intermodal terminals are considered as scenario-specific. In the 1st stage, intermodal paths are selected to obtain proper network capacities. In the 2nd stage, cargo flows are assigned for each disruption scenario on the planed network. The 2-stage model is firstly formulated in a risk-neutral envir

Résumé :
Modern optical transport networks are built on the basis of spectral densification technologies with a flexible frequency grid and have the ability to programmatically control optical channels. When designing and operating these networks, routing and spectrum assignment problems for composite optical channels, called light paths, are solved. Existing light path models are mostly descriptive or limited to routing. The set of acceptable light paths is proposed to be formed based on the ratio of optical signal power to noise power in the light path bandwidth for a particular type of signal. A num
