Résumé :

Cephaleuros belongs to the family Trentepohliaceae, order Trentepholiales, and division Chlorophyta, and acts as a parasite on higher plants. The presence of this alga is characterized by the appearance of spots on the surface of the leaf epidermis and generally does not cause serious problems. However, in certain cases, this algal infection can cause serious problems to the leaves, fruits and stems of plants, especially in humid environments. This research objective is to identify the species of Cephaleuros in the campus of the Faculty of Biology, Gadjah Mada University,

Résumé :
The genus Phycopeltis comprises filamentous to pseudoparenchymatous green algae which grow on the leaves, stems and fruits of higher plants. The genus occurs mainly in tropical and subtropical areas. Up to now Phycopeltis has not been recorded from Vietnam. During the phycological investigations in Cat Tien National Park we recorded the species of Phycopeltis growing on leaves of different higher plants.

Résumé :
Studies on the epiphytic algae on the bark of different trees in Indian Botanic Garden, Howrah were conducted between 2006- 2007. Of these 33 species belong to Cyanophyceae. The members of 53 algal species revealed that members of Chroococcaceae, Oscillatoriaceae, Scytonemataceae, Nostocaceae, Rivulariaceae (Cyanophyceae), and Trentepohliaceae, Pleurococcaceae (Chlorophyceae) exhibit a luxuriant growth. But certain members of Chlorophyceae, Xanthophyceae and Bacillariophyceae, exhibit scare growth. The correct names of the woody species that support the growth of the algae are also listed.

Résumé :
SUMMARYThe family Trentepohliaceae contains many common aerial algae, most widely distributed, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions. Eight species of the genus Trentepohlia have been reported in Japan. We report another taxon, Trentepohlia brevicellulis (Cribb) S. Handa and H. Tsubota comb. et stat. nov., growing on bark in western Honshu, Japan. This alga was previously described as Trentepohlia bosseae var. brevicellulis Cribb. However, the relationship between the bosseae and brevicellulis varieties of T. bosseae could not be ascertained owing to the lack of genetic information
