Texte intégralOur study focuses on the concept of geometry of sense. the study of the concept of verb occupies the main axis of our thesis. This concept is known for its complexity. This is explained by the polysemy of French verbs. We focused our study on the syntactic-semantic analysis of the two verbs "to climb " and "to pass". Indeed, the multiplicity of use involves the notion of verbal polysemy. This notion despite its importance is still very difficult to formulate. We have tried in this study using three electronic dictionaries to disambiguate the verbs "to climb " and "to pass". This work allows us to account for the influence of the syntax and vocabulary of the senses of these two verbs. We explained the opportunity to disambiguate a polysemous verb not by recourse to a list of synonyms but by a set of meanings in specific syntactic constructions. In our approach, we used an automatic method of disambiguation B Victorri that has specificity for the analysis of polysemous lexical units. We found that there is reconciliation between the theoretical analysis and the analysis given by this method. This model is based on linguistic theories and operates mathematics and computer with the aim to clearly describe and solve the problem of verbal polysemy. So our work is multidisciplinary. This is where computer science and mathematics is at the service of the analysis of natural languages

Texte intégralThis thesis explores the construction of sense in English particle and prepositional verbs. It departs from the premise that meaning is something constructed during the process of situated usage. A corpus of 286 combinations formed through the association of a verbal element with over are analysed in context in order to identify the various factors which influence final semantic interpretation. A particular focus of the study is the relationship between form and meaning. The relationship between syntactic configuration and semantic interpretation is investigated and the various ways in which the number and nature of the verbal and/or prepositional arguments can impact semantic interpretation is explored. The role of the extralinguistic in the construction of sense is examined. The major theoretical questions dealt with concern the categorisation of particles and prepositions, the interaction between particle/prepositional semantics and verbal semantics, the internal structure of particle verbs, and the reasons why the particle in a particle verb can either precede or follow the verbal object. The study also explores several more general areas of linguistic investigation including the conceptualisation of movement, resultativity, transitivity and polysemy. During the course of the study a wide range of factors which influence the final semantic interpretation of particle and prepositional verbs in English are identified
Paris 4, 1988. http://www.theses.fr/1987PA040062.
Texte intégralIn metaphysics, one always deals with being; but, according to Heidegger, the sense of being is hardly ever actually dealt with. That gap seems to hold an aporia: that of the "sense of sense". In my opinion, the incompleteness of the inaugural phenomenology (1927) could lie in the impossibility of reaching the sense of sense as the centre of the hermeneutic circle. After the "kehre", in the thought of the "truth of being", the sense can be understood as an eschatological progress (weg), set free from the method and the metaphor. Within a third period, that of the "locality of being" sense can be understood, from the ereignis, as the centre of the quadriparty (geviert) : only then would the sense of sense as centre of the hermeneutic circularity be reached. Such a circularity belongs to a last phase in Heidegger’s thinking : the phenomenology of the inapparent as a tautological thought (1973). One would deal with a thought of the ereignis as tautological or sigillary significance
Decobert, Bernard. « Vers une théorie de l'anticipation du sens : Principes d'analyse structurale ». Thesis, Limoges, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014LIMO0018.
Texte intégralThis thesis questions the fundamental structure of language. It belongs to the Greimas tradition in the sense that it assumes its affiliation with the theories of Hjelmslev, Jakobson , Levi-Strauss, and Propp. This work tries to go beyond by defining connections with Thom and Petitot theory. In this study, we postulate that discourse is constrained by an underlying semantic and syntactic structural order. More specifically, our assumption is that the discourse tends to be organized from and/or around a same underlying chain, involving non-random hierarchy, going beyond the sentences and being constrained to semantic fundamental categories. Our analysis is also included in a morphodynamic framework. From a double semasiologic and distributional approach, and from statistical and mathematical methods, we show that various semes, linked to universals and topological underlying properties, are naturally incremented in the discourse. As a consequence, what we are studying is not a collection of isolated semes but series, chains, syntagmatic arrangements that yield to a form of "proto-reasoning" associating semes. Finally, we show by experimentation, as there are likely other regularity patterns within the continuous structure. These regularities allow us to support the hypothesis of a self-similar principle between deep structure and surface structure. This thesis work is mainly focused on the description and the justification of the existence of such a structural phenomenon

Texte intégralUnderstanding the possibilities of educational ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) is of primary importance not only for learners but also for researchers interested in blended-learning. It is, however, difficult to establish direct causal links between ICT use and knowledge construction. This work thus seeks to determine the conditions by which a blended ICT mode generates “sense-making” in the knowledge construction process. The present work addresses this issue by studying 12 semi-guided interviews in using a novel mode of formative evaluation, called DIGOR, for French as a Foreign Language. It is argued that formative evaluation includes a decisive informational process that has an effect on learning, and therefore on knowledge construction. This key point is presented in a new conceptual framework of the learning process. Our approach leads us to apply a theory-driven model to encapsulate the blended ICT processes step-by-step as an emerging and personal “Document” based on the learner’s point of view. In addition, the conceptual framework enables us to look into the specific relations between different dimensions involved in the learning process, and to collect relevant data in a systematic way. In this way, it helps us to see whether learning and evaluation in an ICT context contribute to the learner’s sense-making process

ABSTRACT: Throughout life, man builds forms his identity based on various experiences that follow him through the course of life. Through life, man builds his identity based on experiences, most of them followed by the outcome of their actions while living in the word gathered by residing in the world. The process that gives meaning to the inhabit the way we live, relies on the level of experience we develop around the housing sphere. Take into account, the inhabitants must become the mirror of all personalities and needs. The present investigation, titled “Habitar sem ver – Arquitetura para invisuais”, pretends to understand how the housing sphere must respond to the requirements and needs of a blind person, providing the levels of comfort and independence. On this matter, the process debated is about two kinds of blindness: those born blind and those cognitive blind. Based on the inclusion theme, all the developed processes must not give an answer to the restriction of seeing but an answer to all kinds of disabilities, therefore defending an Inclusive Architecture. In order to achieve the referred objective, an issue has been raised: ‘What is the role of architecture and the role of the architect who is taking responsibility of drawing the living space for a blind person?’. To achieve an answer, it was necessary to enter and envision the world of the blind which was possible, through interviews. Being able to achieve these interviews, it was possible to clarify all the doubts gained during the process. The house must have the ability to achieve answers regarding all the needs of the person who’s enjoying it, allowing the Man and also the blind man in this case, to achieve the real meaning of the verb inhabit.

Dupas, Alice. « Au-delà de l'intellectualisme analytique danto-goodmanien : vers une esthétique cognitive de type énactif ». Thesis, Lyon, 2020. http://www.theses.fr/2020LYSEN041.
Texte intégralAt its most general level, the goal of the thesis is to defend a cognitive conception of visual art informed by the development of the analytical philosophy of art, specifically by Nelson Godman and Arthur Danto in the second half of the 20th century, and by the contemporary cognitive science enterprise, more precisely by the recent trend known as ‘‘4E’’ cognition. The work advocates a specific version of it labeled sense-making enactivism. By doing so, it seeks in particular to overcome the inadequacies of the conception of art put forward by the Danto-Goodmanian analytical approach, which it interprets as a cognitive theory, and as such as a well oriented one, although suffering from an overly intellectualist perspective on cognition. Finally, this effort to develop an enactivist approach to cognition of a sense-making kind that reinstates the full rights of non-intellectual elements within cognition is focused on the key moment in the art process of the artistic response or apprehension of the work of art

Texte intégralThis thesis questions the contribution of the school system to adolescent identity formation. Language is at the heart of this construction. However, in the French school landscape, the boundaries between the language of schooling, language families, the ELF and LVE are near hermetic and contribute to the fragmentation of identity. Compartmentalized teaching induces many dissociations (language and culture, body and mind) that hinder the development of ties between students and their environment. Vulnerable pupils accumulate difficulties and school becomes a place of social exclusion.Faced with the necessity of thinking pedagogy for pupils to experiencelinguistic and cultural otherness in terms of interrelatedness, this thesis proposes an analysis of the impact of artistic scenarios in English class. These scenarios were designed for students in a secondary school in Bobigny and they are based on their intercultural, transcultural and multilingual experiences and their interpretations of the world. They are built on co-reflection, co-writing, co- creation and co-feeling through dance and drama and open onto a space that offers the opportunity to verbalize their emotions. The analysis of pedagogical-artistic scenarios that are the subject of this work is based on a triple settings: ethnopsychological (transcultural psychotherapy, MR. Moro) psychological (creating a reassuring atmosphere which makes adolescents feel secure, B. Cyrulnik and cooperative learning, D. Johnson and R. Johnson) and pedagogical (incorporated learning, J. Aden). This triple setting offers a transcultural mediation as a method, to use the potential of artistic expression and creativity of adolescents. These three disciplines are complementary and the scenarios are designed among other things to restore a link between cognitive and emotional processes.A transcultural pedagogy allows us to rethink the class into an experiential community (interpretative and cooperative community, and a community of practice) while respecting and valuing the uniqueness of each pupil. At the heart of this pedagogy, the notion of shared experience and speech is central. The device is analyzed at the interface of collective and singular aesthetic experience and allows a shift in perspective on: self-representation, the representation of the other, the relationship between self and other, the relationship between oneself and his or her environment, the relationship between the others and their environment and in fine the awareness of self within the social matrix. This thesis is based on a mixed methodology and is at the interface of transcultural clinic, psychology and teaching of languages and cultures. It analyzes the impact of cross-cultural education through the voices of students collected during the project and in the longer term, three years after the experiment. The corpus is composed of class interactions in English and French, plays in English written and performed by students at the end of the year of the experimentation and qualitative interviews conducted afterwards

Texte intégralThis research investigated the semantic and semiotic senses of verbs in Salvador and Recife from the discussions dealt with the theory of Enunciation of Émile Benveniste. This was possible because the dialectal form brings meaning to the one who speaks. The notion of sense in Benvenistes theory example cannot be understood without being related to the notion of form. We examined the semantic relationship of verbs as dialect-index of the subject and of cultural identity based on the theory of Émile Benveniste, from brands of the subject in the language to speak in the language, that is, by placing the tongue when appropriates and uses a dialect. We emphasize that we consider the subject that is established and is in relationship with each other and with the language in the speech. The methodology used in this study was based on field research and the analysis of the qualitative type, following the instructions of the ALiB (Atlas Linguístico do Brasil). We carried out the data collection interviews with grafematic transcription that were made to the act of investigation in which the subjects were asked to answer questions about the grammatical class of verbs, since we were looking for verbs as indicators of subjectivity. In the interview, we used an adapted questionnaire which we elaborated according to the reality of each region investigated (Recife and Salvador), for we used the ALiB Morph-syntactic Questionnaire-QMS. We interviewed on the spot 40 subjects of two age groups: between 18 to 30 years and another between 50 to 65 years old, who have completed higher education or even the fifth grade of elementary school. After the analysis of the results, we verified that the subject during the speech reflects his relationship with the language coated with issues of cultural identity. The dialect forms recorded by informants in Recife and Salvador are endowed with sense, which allows us to understand that the relationship of meaning pertain for who makes use of language.

Texte intégralThis PHD dissertation contributes to the overall research carried out in French second language teaching. It aims at considering the historical dimension of teaching FL in the French class from two main angles. Firstly, we are interested in history as learning content. Furthermore, this issue is covered by the historical dimension in the sense of historicity. These two problematisation issues – the use of historical documents in foreign language teaching and the awareness of their historicity – converge under the lens of an alterity and diversity goal for languages teaching. Our thesis is that working on the historical dimension in foreign language class is a preferred approach towards plural perspectives’ and their identity and alterity issues’ consciousness. From an epistemological point of view, these reflections rely on the principles of phenomenological-hermeneutic philosophy. On the other hand, they are developed through the project of two researches

Texte intégralIntroduced by Sen as a natural extension of Rawl's concern with primary goods, the capability approach appears in the context of a moral debate about equality. It is then used and developed while exploring more empirical subjects in the context of development economics. Although the approach is often considered as an improvement of the Rawlsian theory of justice, Sen has deliberately left it incomplete. Thus it is not, strictly speaking, a theory of justice. Sen's work is rooted in welfare economics, and more precisely in its last avatar, social choice theory. This thesis shows that Sen's capability approach has been refined as a social choice approach aiming to overcome Arrow's "impossibility theorem". It offers a new life to normative economics, as representing a framework of thought totally emancipated from utilitarianism, and its vestige — welfarism

Texte intégralThis study tries to define a poetical sensibility which began after the Second World War and which developped, during a half-century out of the questions provoked by the events of recent History, concerning the validity of imaginative discourse. In this respect, the question of Meaning is used as a directional thread, insofar as it allows to articulate a precise historical moment of thought and creation with regards to the multiple problems that it was necessary to solve and that revolved around a linguistical, philosophical and ethical justification of esthetic and, notably, poetical practice. It is therefore observed how majors poets have attempted to defend Meaning against the postures which, during the same era, relegated this concept to the past, but without returning to the temptations of Mimesis. Attempting to justify a form of realism in a context which made such a project improbable, dedicating themselves to justifying a presence of the world, the person and the transitive word in the regions of expression, these poets embraced the paradox, betting on poetry as a discourse of connecting and on an interrogative assimilation of the reflexivity through imaginative practice. This wager led them to the elaboration of another definition of Meaning, based on the concept of the possible word and, therefore, a new mode of realism, free from all metaphysic, based in ontology and phenomenology. This double redefinition allowed for the widest figural and imaginal practice. We have also chosen to illustrate such a project by referringto three authors who had very different stylistic practices : André du Bouchet, Yves Bonnefoy and Philippe Jaccottet seemed to assert, neither a celebration of Meaning against Form, nor the reverse, but the value of all figuration as figuration, the notion of the figure subsuming the axiological divisions of individual forms and suggesting a participatory presence, from the world to the works and from the works to the world

The main purpose of this study was to search into the way the actions of the participants of an educational voluntary project at a private school in the city of São Paulo could develop the multicultural study in activities performed at a Children and Adolescents Center, along with students from public schools and critically discuss how the multicultural study has been evolved. In other words, I intended to look over the possibility of meanings realignments. This study was based on the Social- Historical-Cultural Theory (VYGOTSKY, 1934/1987, 1930-35/1988; LEONTIEV, 1977, 1978a; ENGESTRÖM, 1987, 1999a), grounded in the Argumentation studies (LIBERALI, 1999-2013) as well as in the multicultural study (SANTOS, 2008) which deals with the relationship among the subjects in unremitting connection in the production of multiple meanings, contributing to the origin of senses and meanings. This has been a critical research of collaboration PCCol (MAGALHÃES, 2002; 2004; 2007), whose researchers assume that their role evolves not only observing and describing contexts, but they also interfere with them, by understanding and transforming them into a single movement. It is the development of a creative work in partnership in which there can be the generation of reframing meanings, focusing on the multicultural study. The corpus analysis focused on discourses of students of a private school, belonging to high social class, located in the west zone of São Paulo; students from public schools; the teacher-researcher, who is a teacher at a private school; and a robotics instructor whose employment is established with the Congregation that holds the location where the classes took place. Data were registered through audio recordings during ten robotics classes, taught by an instructor and led at the Children and Adolescents Center, located in a neighborhood which has some of the features of a similar one in the west zone of São Paulo, where everyone gathered to attend the robotics activities activities which were part of the educational volunteering project of the private school during the period from March 11, 2013 to June 24, 2013. The discussion of the data highlighted the multicultural view built among the participants. However, it also demonstrated that the multicultural study, as defined in this research, does not always occur due to the lack of articulation throughout discussions and negotiations

Title: Les verbes à particule dans quatre traductions suédoise.
Language: French
Author: Annika Holmé
University/Department/Year: Linnæus University/School of Language and Literature/2010
In modern French there are no phrasal verbs and the aim of this essay is to analyse what happens to the meaning of French data, when translated into Swedish phrasal verbs. In Swedish there is very often a choice between a phrasal verb and a simple verb, for example starta et starta upp.
This is a contrastive analysis based on four different translations from French into Swedish, one of which is technical, one economic, one cultural and one political. In these four translations there were in total 128 examples of a Swedish phrasal verb, or in some cases past participles. Our analysis comprises the following particles (adverbs and prepositions): av, i, ihop, in, ner, om, på, till, upp and ut. We have analysed 43 cases where these particles have occurred.
First of all, we define the meaning of the French data (which is not always a verb) and then we define the Swedish translation with a phrasal verb. Next, we compare both meanings, in order to see if the presence of the particle has kept, changed or modified the meaning between source and target text. Finally, we explain the reason behind each translation.
Our analysis revealed that the meaning was sometimes made explicit, as in spara in. In other cases, the meaning was intensified, as in driva på. Furthermore, the analysis revealed a difference in levels of style, where in some cases the presence of a particle passed on a more informal style in the target text in comparison to the source text, as in starta upp.

Texte intégralThis paper aimed at studying the subjectivity senses configuring the process of self-perception as teachers for pedagogy students. This study is located in the spectrum of the present tendency of pedagogy studies, trying to find a solution to the crisis in its formation and identity development process that is a result of an uncertain historical context. Based on Gonzalez Rey?s Subjectivity Theory, it adds to the teacher-to-be individual?s subjectivity view, helping in the debate of teachers? formation. This research is made under the qualitative research theory, which values the interpretative-constructive role of the researcher. By showing images related to school context, and valuing the dialogue as the real moment of apprehension of the human complexity?s expression indicators, the research was made with four pedagogy students. It was tried to identify the subjective configurations which influences their self-representation as teachers. At the end, it was concluded that today?s representation of teachers is more related to affective and relational aspects than cognitive and informational ones. It was also concluded that the representation of the teaching is closely related to a romantic and idealistic view of the occupation. And a third conclusion is that there must be more integration between the formative context and the teaching practice. It could be made by dialogues and practical experiences during the whole graduation process, and not only at the end, as usual. This research is not the end of the debate, but it proposes a new way of comprehending the matter, helping the search for solutions to the present day pedagogy dilemmas.

Texte intégralIntroduction: Fungemia is a severe complication on neonatal period among very low birth weight infants (VLBW). A better understanding of the risk factors involved could help improving prevention strategies of its occurrence. Objectives: 1) To describe the incidence of fungal sepsis and to recognize the fungal species involved 2) To analyse the risk factors among this population. Methods: Data were collected prospectively over a 25 months period from 1st june 2005 to 30 june 2007 to asses risk factors among VLBW infants admitted at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of a tertiary hospital. All newborns with 72 hours of life or less were excluded from the study. Patients were divided in five groups, based on the first positive blood culture: without sepsis; sepsis with negative blood culture; Gram-positive bacterial sepsis; Gram-negative bacterial sepsis and fungal sepsis. For statistical analyses the Pearson test, the Kruskal-Wallis test and a logistic regression model were used. Results: 187 newborns were included in the study: 110 (58,8%) had late-onset sepsis; 13 (7%) had fungal sepsis. Rate of mortality was 69,2%. The fungal species identified were: C.albicans (50%), C. parapsilosis (41,7%) and one non identified Candida (8,3%). The risk factors identified at the comparison between the fungal sepsis group and the group without fungal sepsis were: birth weight (BW), gestational age (GA), central venous catheter, parenteral nutrition, fasting, mechanical ventilation, exposure to vancomycine, cefepime, meropenem, and amikacine. Further statistical analyses have shown: for each increasing of 10 grams in BW, the risk of fungemia diminished 3%; each day of central venous catheter, increased this risk in 8,1%; each day of mechanical ventilation increased this risk in 11,1%. The analyses of the categorized variables have shown: BW 1000 g increased the risk of fungemia 23 times; mechanical ventilation 14 days increased the risk 36 times; each day of central venous catheter increased the risk of fungemia in 9,3%. Conclusions: The incidence of fungal sepsis in VLBW infant was 7%; the fungal species identified were C.albicans, C.parapsilosis and one non identified Candida. The mortality rate was 69,2%. BW 1000 g and mechanical ventilation during 14 days or more increased the risk of fungemia 23 and 36 times, respectively. Each day of central venous catheter increased the risk of fungemia in 9,3%. 92,3% of the newborns with fungal sepsis were submitted to fasting for seven days or more, the biggest proportion found.

This thesis examines the communication of meaning in the context of the translation from French into English of a contemporary Moroccan novel, Une Vie à Trois, by Bahaa Trabelsi. To explore the notion of a faithful translation, the approach of the Ecole Superieure d'lnterpretes et de Traducteurs (ESIT) is examined. This approach, developed by Danica Seleskovitch and Marianne Lederer, emphasises the communication of meaning and the crucial role that interpretation plays in the act of translation. The project is composed of two parts - the practical application of the ESIT approach in the production of a translation of Une Vie à Trois and a theoretical study of the approach.

Texte intégralMemory plays tricks on us and fails us even for recent events. So for the retrieval of sensory information that we have not experienced for decades, surely the memories are gone without a trace, but can we be sure of this? What if the information had been there all along ready to be explicitly retrieved through recall or familiarity for example? So far, experimental evidence is lacking. The purpose of my thesis was to shed some light on the retrieval of these inactive memories. To tackle this problem I developed my research around two main axes: For the first part which is theoretical, I suggest that a) reactivations are not necessary to maintain very long-term memories if the memories were sufficiently repeated at first; b) it might be possible to retrieve explicitly remote inactive memories using specific cues; in the second part which is experimental, I show that a) within specific conditions participants are able to retrieve explicitly very long-term memories that were left inactive for decades and b) such memory traces could be found on the Electroencephalography (EEG) signals. Surprisingly, when conditions are met, remote memories that were thought to be lost can again elicit recall or familiarity. With these results, a question remains: How do neurons store such information?

Texte intégralIn recent years, the authority of human exceptionalism has increasingly come into question by a number of contemporary artists. Their non-anthropocentric works acknowledge the fundamental role that non-human actors play in artistic production. For them, the non-human includes both biological and non-biological, corporeal and incorporeal entities. This dissertation examines several artistic practices that, in various ways since the 1990s, draw attention to non-human agency. To this end, I analyze these works in the context of corresponding cross-disciplinary theories which developed concurrently with these practices. In addition, I contrast them with influential theoretical approaches that reduce art to social constructions. This dissertation is divided into three parts, each matching the three boundaries that Donna Haraway identified as dissolving at the end of the 20th century: the boundary between humans and animals, between organisms and machines, and between the material and the immaterial. With the dissolution of these boundaries and the granting of agency to non-human entities, the art world begins to encompass more complex and multifarious assemblages. Accordingly, this paper attempts to show the novel forms and meaning that emerge as artists adopt a non-anthropocentric point of view

Texte intégralThe objective of this thesis is to analyse the influence of the meaning attributed to school experience and to the relation to learning on the meaning that the secondary school students who enter a work-based learning program (DIMA) place on their orientation. Orientation meaning is studied after the active socialization model of Philippe Malrieu (2003). The population consists of 416 middle school students from the Region Midi-Pyrénées which 217 were referred to DIMA and 199 were schooled in a Preparatory to Professional Training 9th Grade (G9 PFP). All answered a computerized questionnaire during a collective assessment within classroom. A first descriptive analysis, comparing both groups of students, allowed us to study the trajectory and psychosocial characterizations specificities of the DIMA students. A second multivariate analysis based on the DIMA students’ responses only, revealed three types of students with heterogeneous relations to orientation. Six representative students were selected for further study, based on semi-directive interviews. The results show that DIMA students, who mostly come from the working classes, have a specific academic trajectory marked by early difficulties in learning. They are middle-school students that have developed a relation to school in opposition with institutional demands and expectations. They have built a positive representation of DIMA and this orientation generates strong adhesion and a high satisfaction rate. If the commitment to pre-apprenticeship revolves around the wish to break with school alienating past, it is also in the desire to learn differently. Our results show the fundamental influence of family socialization and school acculturation processes in the modulations of relation to knowledge that help make sense of this orientation. This orientation appears as a subjective function allowing the adolescent to overcome the antagonisms and the various conflicts built at the heart of social spaces. DIMA enables a large majority of teenagers to reconnect with a coherent self-image, broadening the space of possibilities and contributing to a “self-project”. The orientation to DIMA represents an anchor between social space and the subject, supporting the personalization process of the adolescent

Our objective in this work is to develop an investigation on the ways of seeing the icons of the colonial architecture of Goiás, through processes of mediation between the images produced by us in the historical center of the City of Goiás, and the historiographic visual sources that also report inhabiting in Pirenópolis. The images were produced during our exploratory walks through the colonial street, the historical monuments, the squares and the wide ones of the city of Goiás. As for the city of Pirenópolis, the work was more in charge of the visual sources found in the consulted historiography, that also shows the urbanism Portuguese and their respective characteristics. We believe that the structures used to conduct this research provide both the reader and the researcher with greater ownership of the proposed theme. Thus, initially, we present a conceptual, theoretical and methodological approach, so that soon after, we are embarked by the universe of historiographical images and contextualizations. Following, we present reports about the local Iconsphere, amidst an immersive experience in the historical center of the city, where we identify some buildings in the process of decharacterization and others in a state of ruins in an advanced stage of dilution. However, this architecture and urbanism implanted in the eighteenth century, provide constructions of understandings from the transit of the gaze, revealing nuances that were sedimented with studies in the field of Visual Art and Culture. Particularly with regard to Image Culture and Mediation Processes that marked our eyes towards the Arraial de Sant 'Anna, the Vila Boa, and the City of Goiás, as well as, about the old Half Bridge and the way to live in full XIX century. To a certain extent, these settlements and villages mark the paths of this research, on a way of seeing the colonial architecture of Goiás, through processes of mediation, enabled to construct meanings, from images.

Texte intégralAim: To study the effect of maternal tactile-kinesthetic stimulation on hospital stay and incidence of sepsis in very low birth weight infants. Methods: A masked randomized study was performed including infants of birth weight ≥ 750 and ≤ 1500 grams and gestational age ≤ 32 weeks were included. Exclusion criteria were: death before completing 48 hours after birth, presence of major malformations and parents’ refusing to participate in the study. Neonates were divided into: intervention group (IG) (standard care plus maternal tactile-kinesthetic stimulation, up to four daily sessions of 15 minutes each) and control group (CG). Results: In total, 104 very low birth weight infants were included, 52 in each group. Both groups were similar in gestational age (IG: 29.7 1.6; CG: 29.4 1.6 weeks), birth weight (IG: 1186 194; CG: 1156 198 grams), gender, number of small for gestational age infants, SNAPPE-II median score, and number of deaths. Gains in weight, length and head circumference during hospital stay were similar when comparing both groups. The incidence of late-onset sepsis was significantly lower in the intervention group (IG: 10.8%, n=5; CG: 38.3%, n=18, p=0.005). The intervention group was discharged from hospital 7 days before the control group (GI: 42; CI 95%: 38 – 46; CG: 49; CI 95%: 42 – 56). Using Cox regression model, the intervention group presented 1.85 HR (CI 95%:1.09-3.13; p=0.023) for early discharge. Conclusions: Maternal tactile-kinesthetic stimulation in very low birth weight infants decreases the length of hospital stay and the incidence of late-onset neonatal sepsis.
Paris 4, 1998. http://www.theses.fr/1998PA040044.
Texte intégralThis analysis examines the relationship between art and spirituality through the juxtaposition of religious and verbal references in Malcolm de Chazal's works. Starting from obvious denotations, I then move onto more subtle connotations. The first part of my dissertation analyses the Mauritius context in which Malcolm de Chazal has composed his works. This section offers a detailed study of two types of corpus; a long one (3/4 of Chazal's works) and a shorter one, Sens-plastique, which has been the subject of serial analysis. My second and third chapters classify the numerous subisotopes from the religious/and/language isotopes, which reveal a metaphorical use of language. My point is that the two isotopes appear on both sides: that which compares and that which is compared. The fourth part shows the intrication of these two isotopes within the construction of Chazal's work itself. It assesses the many surrounding isotopes, especially the recurrent one of the /human body/. This part reveals more specifically the variety of metaphorical forms within Sens-plastique. The union of metaphors and antonomasias, antanaclases and syllepses put the 'signified' into motion, notably where god is signified. Language and the religious are placed within the natural order, which, in the process, becomes more human. Three "stylemes" organize the semiotic structure of the text: the relation one/multiple, the reversibility and tension between sacred/profane. I draw links between poetic language ('plasticisation') and constructions of meanings within the performative language used by de Chazal. In the light of the surrealist concept of "merveilleux" and the Buddhist notion of ku, I analyze the heuristic of Chazal's word which sends the reader back to his own relationships with the vibrant potentialities of the world. The metaphor, of which the flower is itself the metaphor, is, at the same time, the place and the model of the art and the religious, that is seen as a way to go beyond any limits. Mimicking life's dynamics, it serves a form of 'cosmic' humanism

Texte intégralThe aim of this doctoral thesis is the modeling of expert pilot behaviors in flight collisions. This modeling gives the first echnologic steps to elaborate a new "sense and avoid" system allowing the future integration of Unmanned Air Vehicles in eneral air traffic. The proposed modeling is the result of global and holistic way and describes the cognitive process and he architecture of systems allowing the expression of these cognitive processes. This model allows solving the collision problem thanks to an observable and adapted piloted behavior. Besides a generic modeling of cognitive process of ategorization has been built and based on non linear regression theory and numeric methods for the resolution of ptimization problems.hanks to this global modeling, this new "sense and avoid" system is made of a simple passive optic sensor and it emulates he detection process, the recognition process and the and the actions selection process allowing the resolution of collision problem by a adapted piloted behavior. Thanks to the generic categorization modeling, the main technologic result is to be ble to determinate the Time To Collision (ITC) with a passive sensor. The determination of the TTC is essential for the 'sense and avoid" systems to get the level safety certification required to integrate drones in general air traffic

Texte intégralThe present work, while examining the biographical trajectory of Japanese filmmaker Sômai Shinji from his past in the Japanese New Left to his first movies made in the 80s, is aimed at being a critical study of the significance regarding the use of the technique called “one scene-one shot” generally admitted in the context of Japanese cinema. The one scene-one shot is a method of mise-en-scène considered by several non-Japanese authors, like Noël Burch or Donald Richie, to be “essentially” Japanese because of what they think to be similarities with methods of representation usually found in kabuki theatre and Heian paintings. While we enhance the functions of protest and resistance this technique plays in the aesthetic of Sômai Shinji-who was an activist of the Japanese Fourth International from 1967 to 1971-films, we assess that the argument regarding the one scene-one shot as a method of filming particular to the Japanese sensibility-indeed, an expression of “Japaneseness”-is at best to be reconsidered. Sômai, because of his political past, was a filmmaker constantly struggling with the values of what we call the “dominant ideology”. His work cannot properly be understood unless we put the notions of conflicts and contradictions at the core of our analysis, departing from the traditionally peaceful and homogenous image that certain discourses usually express regarding the Japanese people. Beyond a reexamination of the significance traditionally given to the use of the one scene-one shot in the context of Japanese cinema-to which we associate filmmakers such as Mizoguchi Kenji and Sone Chûsei-, this dissertation questions the images of the nation, expressed through audiovisual means, as a homogenous and fixed community

Texte intégralThe history of the psychologist's profession, gets confused with this professional's own insert in the field of the attention to the public health and their eventualities. However, still an estrangement prevails between the psychologists' formation in the University and the reality of the public net of health. This situation is also reflected in the shortage of studies regarding the formation in psychology in public health. PUC-Campinas owns one of the pioneering experiences, dated of 1986, in the psychologists' formation in the basic attention, for performance in the Unique System of Health (SUS). This research has intended to apprehend the trainees' in Psychology in Health/Clinic s experiences in activities developed as participants of teams of health of the family in the municipal district of Campinas, validating them in the daily dialogue with the researcher. Six senior students of the degree level in Psychology of PUC-Campinas inserted in two groups of the apprenticeship with activities supervised in two Centers of Health-school located in Northwest area of the town. The attendance of the trainees experiencies by the researcher has began with the ingress on the field expressed in this study in ethnographic manner up to the composition of the data of the research that were produced in two moments: a) Diary of Versions of Sense - weekly registration of subjective synthesis individualy acomplished by six trainees; b) individual interviews, partly structured made by the researcher with each trainee. The depositions and diaries of sense versions were qualitatively analyzed starting from a phenomenological reading. The researcher s phenomenological interpretation enabled an interlocution with similar applications found in data basis. From the meaning analysis of the trainees experiences it was possible to infer: a) the formation of the trainee in a field as public health is first felt as something totally unknown, lived with surprise and a certain embarrassment concerned to the inexperience for the work in team of health of the family; b) on the other hand there is the rapid development of an empathy with the public health field, due to a rewarding living with the technicians team, enabling the birth of affective boundings and of a belonging feeling concerned to the health team; c) really feeling like a psychologist comes from the apprenticeship lived in the team meetings, on the exercise of a clinical practice centered in the collective knowledge and interdisciplinary - denominated enlarged clinic; d) as significant elements, facilitators of professional development are pointed out the home visit, the systematic meeting of the team, the professionals and users diversity, the situations lived in the territory; e) feelings of frustration and displeasure were expressed as resultant of troubles living due to the complexity of some cases, and of the lack of adhesion concerned to clinical attendance offered. This phenomenological view about the formation in service, having the experience of the own trainee as the investigation object translates the intention of the focus on social responsibility of the higher education institutions concerned to the commitment of qualifying professionals to act in the reality of the Brazilian society
