Cruise AL609 was a rapid-response cruise with RV ALKOR as part of the funded BMBF joint project CONMAR (CONcepts for conventional MArine Munition Remediation in the German North and Baltic Sea). The project is led by GEOMAR with eight additional partners (AWI, GCF, IOW, Senckenberg, Thünen, UBA, UKSH, URO) within the DAM Mission “Protection and sustainable use of marine areas”. One of the primary objectives of the CONMAR project is to provide the scientific support for commercial and industrial remediation of marine munitions.
