Résumé :
Male sterility is a common phenomenon in higher plants and often plays an important role in the selection of superior offspring. ‘Xiang Yun’ is a mutant of Lagerstroemia indica that does not bear fruit after flowering, and its flowering period is significantly longer than that of normal L. indica. To explore the timing and molecular mechanisms of sterility in ‘Xiang Yun’, this study determined the period of sterility through anatomical observation and compared the content of nutrients and the activity of antioxidative enzymes at different stages of flower development. MADS-box is a key transcription factor regulating the transition to flowering and flower development. Lagerstroemia indica ‘Xiang Yun’ is a new cultivar of crape myrtle characterized by its non-fruiting nature. To study the molecular mechanism underlying the non-fruiting characteristics of ‘Xiang Yun’, 82 MADS-box genes were identified from the genome of L. indica. The physicochemical properties of these genes were examined using bioinformatics methods, and their expression as well as endogenous hormone levels at various stages of flower development were analyzed. Environmental water contamination from natural and synthetic chemicals is a pressing global issue. Addressing this requires the development of portable, selective, and accurate sensors. Biosensors, particularly whole-cell bioelectronic sensors, are promising due to their ability to convert chemical signals into electrical signals via extracellular electron transfer (EET) pathways. However, these sensors typically employ a single electron transfer pathway as an electrochemical channel, limiting them to the detection of a single analyte (Atkinson et al. 2022). Abstract Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains one of the most challenging tumors to treat. Cancer stem-like cells (CSCs) are believed to be important in HCC development, immune evasion, and treatment resistance. Dysadherin is a cell membrane glycoprotein linked to cancer progression by endowing HCC with CSC features. However, the underlying mechanism of increasing CSC characteristics in refractory advanced HCC is not entirely understood. A comprehensive bioinformatics study revealed that dysadherin-expressing HCC cells were associated with cancer stemness and the YAP signaling activation. Dy

A critical phenomenon associated with ADCs is the bystander effect, where cytotoxic drugs released from lysed cancer cells diffuse into neighboring tumor cells, enhancing therapeutic efficacy—particularly in tumors with heterogeneous antigen expression. Résumé :
Abstract Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers and a leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Between 3 and 6% of all CRC cases are attributed to hereditary colorectal cancer (HCRC). It is important to distinguish CRCs that arise hereditarily from those that arise sporadically, because patients with HCRC and their relatives can benefit from intensive clinical management and surveillance. The detection of germline variants using tumor tissue and paired non-cancerous tissue/whole blood cells (WBC) (conventional method) is considered as th

Abstract Backgrounds: Alcohol consumption is the Group I carcinogen according to International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). In 2009, National Cancer Center Korea reported that 3.0% and 0.5% of total cancer incidence were attributable to alcohol consumption in men and women, respectively. Herein, we estimated population attributable fraction (PAF) of cancer incidence due to alcohol consumption as of 2020. Methods: We organized the Consensus Committee to establish strategy and methodology of PAF estimation. Based on the consensus, cancer sites for PAF estimation were selected according

Temperature calculation by the zircon saturation method gives the formation temperature ranging from about 680°C to 850°C; the pressure, determined on the basis of the major element composition, varies between 10 and 1 kbar (about 33 to 3.3 km deep).
