Focusing on new media aesthetics, this paper explores the relationship between modern art and the integration of technology. The impact of technology on artistic innovation and its historical development are discussed, with an emphasis on new interactive art forms such as virtual reality and augmented reality. The creation of the museum institutions and the drift of art from private life into a specialized exhibition space are analysed. The changes of views on the nature of the aesthetic from the Renaissance to Early modern period and their connection with the emergence of art institutions are considered. The interpretation of the concept of G.-H. Gadamer on the role of the spectator in art is given in the context of aesthetic experience.
