Media in the 21st Century Cultural Area is an integral component of artistic practices. Currently, a new direction is emerging – science art, which combines art, technology and scientific development. The leading feature of contemporary music is its transformation, which is due to the changing channels of artistic communication that set certain parameters. Music plays a very important role in the space in which it is performed, both the material itself and the musicians. A promising area of science-art development is the emergence of software and equipment that allows us to "resurrect" the stars of the past, simplify the process of musical creation and performance. There is currently a use of holograms for various purposes in music. Sometimes holograms play the role of an accompanying factor, because they can create a background for the performer, replacing the usual scenery, compensate for the absence of dancers, creating a visual basis for performances. Performers working in the field of popular and pop art are often organized in this way. Examples include the concert numbers of participants in the Eurovision Song Contest. Also, hologram or media projection can be used not only as a background but also as a leading factor in a composition. Hatsune Miku is media performer which presents by a hologram and "performs" with live instrumentalists. Miku's visual characteristics are driven by the traditions of manga comics and anime cartoon strips. The vocal party is created using software that can combine different samples. In this case we are talking about the use of the Vocaloid program, which synthesizes the human voice to record vocals, as well as the vocaloid as a fictional character corresponding to a particular synthesized voice. Although Hatsune Miku's live performances are accompanied by live-instrumental performers, the audience's focus is on the vocalist. The ability to create the perfect virtual performers gradually diminishes the professional qualities of gifted live musicians, whose ability is limited, unlike a vocaloid. The evolution and advancement of technology are changing the disposition between composer, performer and audience, but create new opportunities for creative expression.

From the late 1960s until the end of the twentieth century, the author organized, or helped organize, six exhibitions throughout Europe that saw artists integrate and alter the collective destinies of science, art and technology. The works of art presented at these exhibitions: KunstLichtKunst at the Stedelijk Van Abbe Museum in Eindhoven; the Lumière et Mouvement exhibition at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris; Cinétisme, Spectacle, Environnement, held at the Mobile theater of the Maison de la Culture in Grenoble; Interventions and Environments in the Streets of Paris and in Its Suburbs and Electra at the Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris; and the Virtual Art show in Boulogne-Billancourt in 1998, did more than just lay a formal and theoretical foundation for new media art to follow—they challenged the perceptions of both the spectator of the art as well as other artists working in this area. This article chronicles the aesthetic and societal ramifications, particularly within the artistic community, that the works in these exhibitions created.

The absence of would-be palpable skills in contemporary and modern art has become a commonplace of both conservative and radical art-criticism. Indeed, these criticisms have tended to define where the critic stands in relation to the critique of authorship and the limits of ‘expression’ at the centre of the modernist experience. In this article, I am less interested in why these criticisms take the form they do – this is a matter for ideology-critique and the sociology of criticism and audiences – than in the analysis of the radical transformation of conceptions in artistic skill and craft in the modern period. This will necessitate a focus on modernism and the avant-garde, and after, as it comes into alignment with, and retreat from, the modern forces of production and means of reproduction. Much, of course, has been written within the histories of modernism, and the histories of art since, on this process of confrontation and exchange – that is, between modern art’s perceived hard-won autonomy and the increasing alienation of the artist, and the reification of art under the new social and technological conditions of advanced capitalist competition – little, however, has been written on the transformed conditions and understanding of labour in the artwork itself (with the partial exception of Adorno). This is because so little art-history and art-criticism – certainly since the 1960s – has been framed explicitly within a labour-theory of culture: in what ways do artists labour, and how are these forms of labour indexed to art’s relationship to the development of general social technique (the advanced level of technology and science as it expressed in the technical conditions of social reproducibility)? In this article, I look at the modern and contemporary dynamics of this question.

There is a fundamental difference between artists, who use science as an object of social examination, and artists, who believe that science represents a component of their expressive style. The idea that different ideological manipulations of the Art&Science concept can cause a distorted view on this fascinating and at the same time controversial relation is becoming clear. In our projects we use different technological and scientific applications; to us technology is an integral part of our artistic expression. The scientific and analytical approach that we use when we investigate and solve various operations within our projects, indicates that our system is based on collective and systematic work and it allows us to understand better the different problems and relations of contemporary society. Art has always played an important role in the system of the communication of ideas and feelings in a tight connection with contemporary society. No wonder that the artist today uses the methods and technologies of modern and sophisticated devices. We are all users of new technologies, developed with the help of scientific discoveries in order to satisfy our needs. Anyway the belief that society borrowed research in the field of science and technology in order to survive is incorrect.

Music and seismology merged in the daily work of the Caltech professor Hugo Benioff, who united the avant-garde technology of the 1920s with a nineteenth-century Helmholtzian aesthetic, cultural, and scientific understanding of music. The transducer facilitated this merger, mediating between science and music and allowing for new ways of listening to waves outside the audible range. Benioff had the capacity to listen—“listening” understood here not as passive perception, but as an active search to distinguish and separate signal from noise, whether from in- or outside of the instrument. For more than forty years, Benioff worked as a sonic expert, perfecting the recording and reproduction of waves and vibrations of all types and frequencies. After tracing elements of Benioff’s biography, I examine how he incorporated the technology of the transducer in his workshop into his seismological and musical instruments, notable not only for the control, austerity, and clarity of lines of their modernist design, but also for a new kind of poetic technology. Benioff’s seismological instruments made it possible to listen to a large variety of previously undetectable phenomena such as the free oscillations of the earth, and his work with the pianist Rosalyn Tureck on electric musical instruments aimed to reproduce the pure sound of traditional instruments. I argue that Benioff’s search for an aesthetic reconciliation of the scientific modern with an enchanted view of the world is very much a product of the social, cultural, technical, and scientific conditions of the interwar period.

Culture is the most critical thing when driving innovation. This paper aims to discuss the counter-hegemony of Drama Gong against modern entertainment arts today with the dynamics of openness innovation. The research method used is qualitative and uses triangulation analysis. Basic qualitative data were obtained by examining two stories of Drama Gong, namely: (1) Angling Dharma (the 1980s) and (2) Jayaprana (2020). Data were collected through observation, document review, and interviews with artists and art observers of the Drama Gong culture of Bali. Qualitative descriptive analysis was carried out by applying the theory of semiotics and the theory of symbolic interaction. The results showed that to maintain its existence since the 1980s Drama Gong performance art has been revitalized as a form of counter-hegemony to today’s modern entertainment arts. The counter-hegemony concerns three things, namely: (1) the innovation of Drama Gong performance art, (2) the application of new technology to support the packaging and performance of the Drama Gong, and (3) efforts to maintain the function of the Drama Gong as a way to teach Balinese culture.

The purpose of this text is to reflect on the ways that science fiction allows criticism on the modern technology path. Imagination has allowed us to think of some ends of the world, but it has been a privileged space. Creating other possible futures for our relationship with energy is essential. Corporate renewable energy projects are emerging in corners of the planet where green capitalism has not yet reached. In this way, the creation of alternatives to centralized and corporate models of energy generation, distribution and consumption must go through new potentialities of inhabiting new possible futures. Science fiction is a literature genre that has inspired generations of people assembling art and techno-science as well as dystopia. Solarpunk has been consolidated as a space of counter-cultural hope to allow us to go beyond social-ecological injustices and growing epistemic and ontological violence. This genre is derived from other currents such as Cyberpunk, Steampunk and Dieselpunk, elucidating another relationship between technology, society and nature, nourished in turn by climate sci-fi, Indigenous and Afro-futurist science fiction. In this sense, a concept revision is made in three spheres: i) historical, based on its digital origins; ii) literary, based on the edited anthologies and iii) academic, of the reflections that it has raised. Finally, the Solarpunk Manifesto, revealed at the beginning of 2020, is shared in order to continue its co-creation.

During the writing of the article, we analyzed the domestic and foreign experience in implementing STEAM approaches in the educational process of educational institutions. The article considers the issues of modern STEAM strategy - education, which is successfully developing in our time, which is the result of the integration of science and art, as a result of which scientific technologies are born. Some historical and pedagogical aspects of this problem are analyzed. Attention is drawn to the five components of STEAM-education: S - science (natural sciences), T - technology (technology), E - engineering (engineering art), A - art (creativity) and M - mathematics (mathematics) and emphasis on the importance of the artistic component in the interdisciplinary formation of a holistic personality. The results of separate researches of domestic and foreign scientists are covered. Approaches to the implementation of such educational standards in the United States and Austria, other EU countries are analyzed. It is determined that for pedagogical representatives, in particular, future teachers of art disciplines, the introduction of STEAM helps to increase their own level of professionalism, improve the quality of the educational process, reduce preparation time, allows to make a radically new job. Artistic and creative activity is an important indicator of the formation of the creative personality of the student, a special role in relation to artistic activity is played by the development of artistic perception when acquainted with works of painting, graphics, sculpture, arts and crafts. This acquaintance can take various forms, including the use of modern information technology and STEAM-approaches. We concluded that a comprehensive understanding of scientific problems, creative and engineering approach to their solution, critical thinking, the ability to process data representing figurative and symbolic objects; the ability to analyze several data streams simultaneously, the integrated application of scientific and artistic methods of cognition contributes to the development of all important competencies of future professionals.

AbstractFrom Karl Marx to Martin Heidegger, the dialectical relationship between technology and art has become an ontological question of social reality. Marshall McLuhan’s theory of cool-hot media provides an analytical framework for the information age. “Cool-hot media” is McLuhan’s truly original concept. However, while McLuhan determined electronic media to embrace printing media which was regarded as a typical representative of hot media, he could not foresee that electronic media is properly speaking the latest representative of the split type of hot media. Through Gödel’s Incompleteness Theorems which underlies formalization and Embodied Cognition Theory, this article argues that there exists an ontological difference between computers and human existence and explores the position of art from the contemporary cool media perspective. This contribution is not only intended to be a philosophical critique of the philosophy of technology of the media age, but also a repositioning of contemporary art and its function from the media perspective. The technological division and abstraction represented in hot media becomes the basic premise for a holistic approach to computer science and artificial intelligence. Their rich information context leads to multiple interpretations of meaning instead of a one-dimensional definition; the everyday actions of cold media have become a type of life art in a broad sense, and manifest their social function as an art of the information age, i.e. to balance the cognitive narrative of hot media and to ensure that its communication does not suppress the audience’s individual creativity, so that they can maintain their subjectivity by tracing the source of information. Art facilitates active audience participation and so allows participants to overcome a one dimensional way of thinking and promotes imagination and creativity in liberal arts education. Following the rules of art, cold media obtains its greatest significance as the guardian of the free subjectivity of all humans, which is alien to modern technology. Cold media and hot media balance each other to create a new way of producing and living that not only discovers but also safeguards the world.

Can art provide an effective counterpractice to global nuclear politics? The author argues that art and science share the same project—the modernist project—and that art, like science, has to question its modern heritage.

From digital video to software-driven installations, digital art is now present in museums around the world. Museum systems designed for object-based collections like paintings and sculpture do not address the collections management and conservation requirements for these new technologies and their associated hardware. In this article the authors investigate processes through which digital art becomes embedded in museums. Based on original research conducted at The Museum of Modern Art in New York, we argue that the introduction of digital art to MoMA did not lead, as recent literature suggests, to disruptive or radical changes of existing institutional practices. Instead, the result has been organizational subunit proliferation and adjustments to established practices and procedures. Through our study of managing digital art at MoMA, we engage Science and Technology Studies and the institutional analysis tradition in the sociology of organizations to advance the understanding of processes of change in art museums.

Abstract Artworks, especially in the last two centuries, have been more created through a process of blending than at any other time. This blendedness is seen not only in many modern and postmodern works of art, from German expressionist woodcuts to Picasso's paintings and spontaneous action paintings of Pollock, but in fractal works of art perhaps more than anywhere else. This study, based on Fauconnier and Turner's blended space and conceptual blending theories, will show how fractal artworks are the result of a multi-blending process. This multi-blending is not only because fractal artworks have roots simultaneously in science, technology and art but also because their creation and understanding is dependent on knowledge of fractal aesthetics. Fractal aesthetics not only makes the artist have a continuous back and forth movement between mathematical, digital and artistic spaces, but simultaneously makes the visitor/audience have such an effort as well.1

Art design is a major driver of the development of culture and art, modern science and technology, and social economy. As a result, art design education has been greatly valued and attached great importance. However, art design education in China falls behind the development of social economy and art design. To solve the problem, this paper attempts to innovate art design education in China in the new era. Firstly, the authors investigated the current situation of art design education in China, and discovered a few problems: the chaotic teaching mode, the unreasonable curriculum setting, the mismatch between graduate capabilities and social requirements, and the undiversified teaching evaluation method. In response to these problems, art design education was renovated from the aspects of curriculum system setting, teaching mode, and teaching evaluation. On this basis, the authors proposed to set the curriculum system based on professional ability, and designed a topic-based and workplace-oriented teaching mode with art design studio as the platform. Finally, the innovation methods for teaching evaluation were discussed in terms of evaluation subject, evaluation standard, and evaluation method. The research findings provide a theoretical and practical reference for the innovation of art design education.

Xipi Lacquer Art in Huizhou was once well-known all over China with the brilliant Huizhou merchants and it was once also annihilated in the river of long history. The surface of Huizhou Xipi Lacquer Art is so bright that it can serve as a mirror, and the swirling, complicated and changing patterns endow it with mysterious and gorgeous beauty. In modern times, since the technique of Huizhou Xipi Lacquer Art recovered all that was lost, its special aesthetic sense of beauty and the craftsman’s pursuit of superlative craftsmanship have led to the increasing emphasis on the objects produced by it for people to appreciate. This deviates from the public’s demand for stable quality and economic utility, and it is difficult to integrate into the consumer market. In this paper, through the in-depth analysis of the history and context of Huizhou Xipi Lacquer Art, the author combines with the theory of contemporary product design to explore the advantages and disadvantages of Huizhou Xipi Lacquer Art into modern product design. Besides, the author uses the scientific research method to find a breakthrough for the two symbiosis and concludes the approach to realize the innovation and development of the excellent traditional technology in the era of science and technology.

This paper describes the benefits and the challenges of using modern technology for designing and implementing in-class science demonstrations. We suggest that state-of-the-art instrumentation, such as a fast-speed video camera, can turn traditional lecture demonstrations from mere entertainment to the effective means for physics learning. We describe an experimental set-up — a slow-motion chamber, which we have used as a demonstration tool in large lectures. Finally, we provide examples of experiments used in introductory physics courses, which may greatly benefit from the analysis of a slow-motion playback, and suggest how instructors can help students experience physics in action during lectures.

In museums, exhibition content focuses mostly on cultural heritage’s historical values and functions, but doing so tends to limit visitors’ interest and immersion. To counter this limitation, the study developed an experiential media art exhibition fusing bronze mirrors’ traditional production technology and modern conservation science. First, for the exhibition system, scientific cultural heritage contents were projected on the three-dimensional (3D) printed bronze mirror through interactions between motion recognition digital information display (DID) and the projector. Then, a scenario of 17 missions in four stages (production process, corrosion mechanism, scientific analysis and diagnosis, and conservation treatment and restoration) was prepared according to the temporal spectrum. Additionally, various media art effects and interaction technologies were developed, so visitors could understand and become immersed in bronze mirrors’ scientific content. A user test was evaluated through the living lab, reflecting generally high levels of satisfaction (90.2 points). Qualitative evaluation was generally positive, with comments such as “easy to understand and useful as the esoteric science exhibition was combined with media art” (16.7%), “wonderful and interesting” (11.7%), and “firsthand experience was good” (9.2%). By combining an esoteric science exhibition centered on principles and theories with visual media art and by developing an immersive directing method to provide high-level exhibition technology, the exhibition induced visitors’ active participation. This exhibition’s content can become an important platform for expanding universal museum exhibitions on archaeology, history, and art into conservation science.

We consider the organization of individually-oriented teaching of preschool children in the field of choreographic art. The continuously developing concept of education, including the concept of teaching preschool children, the active introduction of innovative technologies, increasing the requirements that apply to the modern teacher, allow to make the section of preschool pedagogy regularly modernized science, the key goal of which is to introduce innovative techniques that are adaptively suitable to the psycho-physiological level of development of the modern child. It is shown that within the educational process of preschool children in the field of choreography as a fundamental goal is selected individually-oriented training and education in the field of choreographic art. The purpose of individual-oriented training and education in the field of choreographic art is the development of the child as a single person, a carrier of unique characteristics that will distinguish him from his peers. The principles of developing individually-oriented training and education in the field of choreographic art (the principle of naturalness; the principle of freedom of choice; the principle of openness of the didactic process) are characterized, the forms of organization of individually-oriented training and education of preschool children in the field of choreographic art are revealed. Research of dynamics of development of preschool children by means of choreographic art is presented. The main pedagogical technologies of individually-oriented teaching of preschool children in the field of choreographic art (health-saving educational technologies; pedagogical technologies that contribute to the systematic and harmonious development of the child's personality; project activities technology; “portfolio preschool” technology; information and communication technologies).

With the rapid development in communication technology nowadays, humanities disciplines have become closer and interconnected, which led to the flourishing of interdisciplinary fields. This paper attempts to survey the relationship between modern literary criticism and communication theories; it can be said that the progress that modern linguistics have witnessed in considering the poetic function among other communication functions has contributed to frame a literary theory based on the fundamental acts of communication. The works of Arab critic Mur?d Mabr?k could serve as a good example in this matter; he has been, in his hundred books and papers, interested in literary communication theory, which he thinks could be a comprehensive framework for the critics to analyse literary works, in regard to the texts, and in regard to their creators and readers. Mabr?k’s interest in this theory began in the early years of the current AD century, as he published several books and articles trying to draw a clear image of literary communication theory. He traces the roots of the theory in ancient Greek philosophy, classical Arabic criticism and rhetorics. He also follows the theory’s dimensions and concepts in other fields such as Anthropology, Sociology, and Information Science. Not only that, but Mabr?k suggests his own reading strategy of literary works, applying it on classical and modern poems, novels, and even commercial adds. It is the aim of this research to study Mabr?k’s project in order to understand the nature of the relationship between concepts of communication and modern critical theories.

Today artistic perception of the world and scientific and technical understanding of reality remain the main forms of creative self-realization. For many centuries, starting in Antiquity, art and science went hand in hand in cultural history. However, during the heyday of technogenic civilization, there occurred a split, and since the second half of the 20th century these two parts of a previously common culture became poorly compatible. According to the authors, the era of digitalization is going to completely replace the algorithmic and instructive professions in technology and service personnel with robots and artificial intelligence, and a person will have to develop the spheres of right-brain practices, which undoubtedly include scientific and technical creativity and art. Like all previous information revolutions, the modern digital revolution is creating new network structures of fast communication and ultra-long-distance, global order. Distance does not matter any more. In this situation, the cognitive maps of a person change radically, new types of self-organization and socialization appear, and there occurs a deformation of value spaces and worldview guidelines. Life in the uncertainty of this new world can only become effective in interaction of man and artificial intelligence, and the only aspect of activity that cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence is creativity and aesthetic experiences as well as culture. Thus, the authors conclude that a new synthesis in culture is needed, the ways of which are discussed in detail in the article. Among them are promotion of new concepts of Science-Art, application of post-Turing methodology, and use of quantum-synergetic anthropology, which develops new ideas about theatrical and engineering creativity, – and these will remain unattainable to artificial intelligence in foreseeable future.

The evaluation of property is one of the basic human professions that have accompanied the human race ever since money was first used. At the time of the formation of modern science, this discipline was not included among the economic sciences. The stipulation of the value of property was based not only on theoretical knowledge of the economics, knowledge of goods, technology, agriculture and law, but also practical skills, knowledge of markets and the art of correctly assessing the requirements of customers. This situation continued until the end of the last millennium, when the evaluation of property stood apart from official science and was presented as an activity that links science and art and for this reason it was not possible to include it among the scientific disciplines. There is given analysis of value and valuation of property. On the base of philosophical approach to value and process of valuation, it can be stated that Valuation is a science in terms which in modern science have meaning. This would enable surveyors to participate also in the promotion of their profession on the academic floor and thus have more influence on the general opinion of value and its influence on contemporary society.

The expansion of indications for assisted reproductive technology has led to significant implications for assisted reproductive technology (ART) programs worldwide. More than 7 million children in the world were born using ART. Modern clinical practice in the field of reproductive sciences is aimed not only at increasing the effectiveness, but also at the safety of treatment. ART, like any other type of therapy, may be combined with negative side effects. Both the correct prediction of the risks associated with treatment and a personalized approach ensure the absolute safety of infertility treatment using in vitro fertilization. In this regard, over the past decade, a number of new research approaches have been noted that use ART methods integrated into clinical practice: cycle segmentation with subsequent embryo transfer and the elective transfer of one embryo. New approaches provide a control in relation to ovarian stimulation and a reduction in the number of transferred embryos, which helps to minimize primarily adverse perinatal outcomes. Predicting the risks and outcomes of treatment using mathematical modeling is the application of good clinical practice.

Color is the basic element of printmaking art creation and also an important medium for artists to express their emotions. In order to improve the understanding of the print by tourists, the research first carries out image analysis of different colors, summarizes the common color image adjectives in the art of publishing and painting, then optimizes BP neural network algorithm by gradient promotion (GP) algorithm, and constructs a color language analysis technology based on GP-BP neural network review paradigm. Through this technology, the content of color expression of different types of print art works is analyzed. Then, the subjective evaluation of these print art works is carried out by questionnaire adjustment method. Finally, the subjective evaluation and network evaluation results are compared. On the three materials, the expression effect of color image adjectives such as “heavy light fast,” “modern classical,” “lively steady,” and “soft Yang Gang” is consistent ( P value is greater than 0.05). The first set of print works mainly reflects the artist’s “affinity cold” emotion. The MSE values of the evaluation results are less than 0.01. That is, the color language analysis technology of print art based on GP-BP neural network can reflect the artist’s emotion to a certain extent when analyzing the color language of the print.

This study aims to contribute to the field of contemporary art-technology by leaving a historical-artistic touch in line with the function of the fine arts on our ‘senses’ that were conceived, imagined, and took place on the stage by dint of human labor and creative ability during the absence of technology. The prominent outcome shows that an integrated Opera where optics and acoustics dominate and the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist is among the auditory-visual spectacles of the scene that one which has the most need for ‘artificial visions’.The study has shown that the ideal of achieving a holistic work of art, by aestheticizing the ‘scenic space’ has been stated by the Italian scenographer Pietro Gonzaga (1751-1831) in one of his several theoretical treatises: “À Propos d'Optique Théâtrale”(About Theatre Optics) stamped in 1807 in St. Petersburg before Richard Wagner's (1813–1883) conception of the total work of art has been professed. The scenographer has particularly considered that the stage which contains the show and its simulation in the place where the event takes place could itself be expressive. The study concludes by referring to the clairvoyant point of view of a scenographer who could be regarded as the pioneer of modern day directing art, that the total work of stage art took place in 18th -19th centuries is envisaged to function as a kind of television screen.

Abstract This article analyses explorations of social and environmental problems and solutions in artistic representations of the Indonesian countryside and rural society, culture, and wisdom. It focuses on urban–rural creative collaborations that combine traditional culture and knowledge with modern technology and media, such as drones and the Internet, to empower local communities, promote artistic innovation, and enhance environmental sustainability. It seeks to demonstrate that contemporary art and media strengthen the urban–rural network and the accessibility and exchange of creative ideas and information. At the same time, the author argues that some of the causes of cultural conflict and anthropogenic disaster are embedded in forms of audio-visual representation itself. The display of urban–rural encounters in art festivals and social media can even instigate new forms of surveillance, and power and knowledge hierarchies, or reinforce regimes of consumer culture, partially responsible for the very problems the audio-visual representations and collaborations seek to address.

The most successful early-20th-century artist of colored light in the United States was undoubtedly Thomas Wilfred (1889–1968). In the 1920s, his “Lumia” compositions were praised by art critics and performed throughout the U.S. After initially embracing a musical analogy to explain Lumia, in the early 1930s he shifted to an analogy based on painting. In pursuit of this new context, Wilfred sought to legitimize Lumia through a relationship with the Museum of Modern Art in New York. His career is emblematic of the difficulties inherent in the creation of art using technology early in the 20th century, years before the postmodern embrace of pluralism.

This paper describes the concept of corporeality in the context of science art and the role of technology in contemporary culture. Human corporeality is a body endowed with soul and meaning. It results from personal and social experience, historical development, or cultural context and its implicit impacts. The subject of this research is corporeal code that organize the nature of modern artistic productions and human being identity. Contemporary artists use the strategies of participation and interaction, forms of interventions to make art an agent of social change and to become active drivers for the new identity process activation. Problems of identity make up a significant layer in contemporary art. The identification process develops in them in various directions. We can characterize its evolution as a change of identities. Recognizing the role and intense impact of technology on contemporary culture, we can trace two main directions: one involves extension of human senses and abilities by creating new solutions, software and tools, that let us get advanced understanding of the reality, and the second one is based on presupposed physical capacities of the human corporeality. According this approach the understanding of reality as a reality given in sensations is disappearing. The virtual world comes to replace it, our essence becomes involved in the process of mixing and indistinguishability until its complete disappearance.

This article defines the modern interdisciplinary trends in engineering and the collaboration of engineering with other sciences. Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts (STEAM) approach has been chosen as suitable for teaching engineers in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) classroom. The authors created different tasks with art elements in teaching ESP. The topics of the tasks are: material properties, environmental/global sustainability issues, human factors engineering, employment of engineers, and engineering education. Scaffolding, appropriate time management, cooperation, creative atmosphere, native materials are the conditions for the effective usage of the tasks within STEAM approach. The results of the pedagogical experiment in 2019 at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” (Igor Sikorsky KPI) amongst 30 chemical engineers proved the improvement of language skills and other skills of the 21 century such as cooperation, digital, problem-solving, creative thinking. An anonymous questionnaire confirmed students’ positive perception of the STEAM approach.

Instrumentation, control and automation (ICA) are key technologies in modern water and wastewater systems. Ever present disturbances make it necessary to automatically attenuate their consequences. A wastewater treatment system is load driven, while a water distribution system is demand driven. Despite the variability the system outputs have to be satisfactory. Economic realities encourages the application of ICA to make a maximum use of plant capacities. An increasing complexity of competing processes in a modern nutrient removal plant makes more elaborate control necessary. The final goal of protecting the environmental resources necessitates an integrated view of several interdependent systems, the collection, transport and treatment processes. In this integrating development ICA will be a decisive technology.

The dialectical relationship between vulnerability and technology constitutes the core of Hegel’s Master and Slave (the primal scene of contemporary philosophy). Yet, the empirical dimension is underdeveloped and Coeckelbergh’s ideas could profit from exposure to case studies. Building on a movie/novel (Limitless) devoted to vulnerability coping and living with ICT, I challenge the claim that modern heroism entails overcoming vulnerability with the help of enhancement and computers.

Architecture as a multirelated field is influenced and connected by many subjects. Among those subjects, the role of art and natural science is the most dominant frame without ignoring the development of advanced technology. By using technology, the impossible becomes possible such as to capture the body motion of humans as the subject of art and science at the same time. Body motion is a potential research of movement over the time. This does not only involve the aesthetic, but also even more the scientific aspect of a dynamic motion of an organism that can be investigated through a biomimetic approach. In order to understand the biomimetic term, we investigated the physical morphogenesis and geometrical principle of an organism. The term morphogenesis is a process in which the natural system produces and regulates the configuration of a material in space and over time. Based on that, we tried to design a dynamic structure using butterfly’s motion as a subject of study with morphological and biomimetic approaches. Butterflies show a simultaneous aspect of movement over time characterized by fragmentation. This idea also summarizes many aspects of modern art such as portrayal of body movements by futurists, space-time continuum, cinematic freeze frame, and time-lapse photography. A futurist represents a movement that is emphasized on the factors of speed, technology, modernisms, and objects. This indicates an alternative position that may be relevant to the system of butterfly wings. This can only be achieved by utilizing a digital design and its parametric tools that help generate functions and form dynamic structures with high complexity and precision. Throughout the development of the system, there will be many changes to the form which will be constantly tested and evaluated using a series of prototype and visual digital design.

The specifics of coverage of popular science materials on the example of such media as "Kunsht", "Moya Nauka" and "Hromadske" (Science) are considered. The content and topics of materials, frequency of publication, genres, specifics of publications, the presence of these media in social networks and the diversity of content are analyzed. The list of topics that most often cover the selected media, the quantity and quality of content published during the calendar month is analyzed. Also the quality of coverage of the topic of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and the pandemic of 2020, the development of a vaccine at all stages against the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, its types and proven effectiveness. The direction of movement of popular science media according to the definition of In Science. The list of Ukrainian popularizers of science is given. The importance of popularization of science and daily development of science was emphasized, so that there is no gap between the knowledge of scientists and the knowledge of ordinary citizens, and the importance of creating new popular science media in Ukraine. And also on the study of the language of modern science, which is English. Because in this language, publications relating to science, technology, and all advanced scientific research are published. Thanks to English-language publications, promoters have the opportunity to learn about the latest discoveries and inventions. And thus, to quickly bring to the public the latest scientific knowledge. The small number of popular science media in Ukraine and the importance of filling this niche are emphasized, as the audience sees the need for it. And also in the importance of promoting popular science content through social networks such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Telegram. The key directions of development of Ukrainian scientific popularization and its functions are outlined. The definitions of the terms “popularization of science”, “popular science media” and the functions of popularization of science are given.

It questions whether this conflict is a true reflection of modern day nursing practice. The impact of technology on the role of the nurse in healthcare environments is explored and contrasted with everyday nursing practices that are patient-centered. The contributions and risks of nursing science are discussed, as is the conflict of science and art. Nurses’ role in humanizing the dehumanizing effect of healthcare technology is emphasized; the importance of the patient as the focus of nursing practice is asserted.

Using robotics in modern medicine is slowly becoming a common practice. However, there are still important life science fields which are currently devoid of such advanced technology. A noteworthy example of a life sciences field which would benefit from process automation and advanced robotic technology is rehabilitation of the upper limb with the use of an orthosis. Here, we present the state-of-the-art and prospects for development of mechanical design, actuator technology, control systems, sensor systems, and machine learning methods in rehabilitation engineering. Moreover, current technical solutions, as well as forecasts on improvement, for exoskeletons are presented and reviewed. The overview presented might be the cornerstone for future research on advanced rehabilitation engineering technology, such as an upper limb bionic orthosis.
