Testo completoThe Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary (AMWS), located on the Humboldt Bay of northwestern California in the town of Arcata, is an excellent example of reciprocity between humans and the natural environment. The AMWS is a constructed wetland ecosystem that works in conjunction with the town's wastewater treatment plant, providing a healthy habitat for birds and other wildlife and a context for the folkloric activity of birding. Interviews with seven local birders at the AMWS and an analysis of the material, economic, biological, social, and spiritual implications of the activity in context serve to support the assertion that reciprocity is an important factor in the sustainability of folkloric interactions between humans and the natural environment.

Abstract Bird-watching in Taiwan has been flourishing in recent years and the island's forest resources are in a wide range of birds. Additionally, Taiwan is located in the path of East Asia bird migration. The number of birds which migrate through of the island of Taiwan is estimated more than one million each year. Bird-watching in Taiwan has been becoming an important eco-tourism although there are many trails throughout the bird-watching. However there is still a need for improvement of bird-watching character. Therefore, the aim in this study is to estimate the bird-watching trails in low-elevation forests in Taoyuan area. Hope that via the professional assessment of bird-watching to understand the current situation and problems in bird-watching trails. Wish the results can not only provide the recommendations for bird-watching trail, but also build the future plans of the new reference for bird-watching trails.The first purpose of this study is to understand the birds feeding on the plant preferences in low-lying areas in Taoyuan forests via the investigation of bird-watching trail. The result also becomes the operation and management of reference and recommendations in building up the park as a future urban planning and design at the time.The second purpose is to build up the low-lying areas in Taoyuan trails of bird-watching assessment mechanism and verify the results of its assessment in order to establish a national bird-watching trail to assess the future model. The result can actively promote eco-based bird-watching tourism. The third purpose is to realize the causes of plenty sources of bird-watching trails via the assessment of bird-watching routes on low-elevation forests in Taoyuan area. This can be a suggestion to choose the location for bird-watching activities for the friends who like bird-watching. In this study, including bird survey in bird-watching trails (involve: the number of birds and eating habits survey), as well as assessment of the questionnaire interview from Taoyuan, Taipei, Hsinchu, Wild Bird Society bird-watching experience with many years on the sampling areas of the bird species found. It evaluates ornamentation and rare species of birds. This study investigated the line-like bird-watching areas which included: Longtan Lake Township Shihmen Reservoir Road, Ta Shee Kibaki trails, Taoyuan HuTou Mountain Park, Grand Rapids Gold Mountain Industries road surface, Daxi Chungcheng Park, Renaissance Park and the rural angle plate Chaoyang Park in Taoyuan City. Records from the results of the survey study to 39 species of birds, the largest population is Japanese white-eye, followed by Pulsatilla, black bulbul, sparrow, thrush, as well as embroidered eyes. As for ornamental birds and rare results of a questionnaire survey, there is a higher degree of viewing the top five bird species in Taiwan which are blue magpie, blue tit back, the black kite, crested serpent eagle, five-color birds. The rare bird species of high mountains of bamboo for the top five are chicken large scimitar babbler, black kite, crested goshawks and purple thrush Xiao. Also on the assessment of bird-watching trail has the highest rank in Longtan Lake Township Shihmen Reservoir Road, followed by Kibaki trails Tahsi, Taoyuan HuTou Mountain Park, Grand Rapids Gold Mountain Industries road surface, Daxi Chungcheng Park, Fusing Township angle plate Chaoyang Park and Forest Park in Taoyuan City. Bird-watching trail results recommends that consideration should be given to all the birds all year round bait plants for foraging birds and provide shelter Office; As for bird-watching trail facilities, width of roads should be 2 to 5 meters and the soil surface is more suitable than the needs of the inducible facilities for asylum bird forests, and the distance should be better between the waters of 10 to 30 meters. This thesis, based on introducing and discussing current management on bird watching avtivities at Guandu Natural Park, is to come up with a proposal of maximizing the balance between ecosystem and park management. Content of the study is consisted of 3 major parts: I. Using theory of Landscape ecology, accompaning with related study and field investigation to discuss ecological condition of bird species at Guandu natural park. II. To prove that Guandu Natural Park is important to bird species with field investigation and to discuss the relation between birds’habitats at Guandu Natural Park and bird frequency. Criterion were justified from the proof as a suggestion and reference for future habitats planning. III.300 Questionnaires were used to fully understand visitors’ viewpoints and understanding about Guandu Natural Park. 3 different groups were set in order to analyze differences of their opinions about Guandu Natural Park and their understanding about environment preservation. Suggestion and opinions constructive and useful for environment protection and improvement to Guandu Natural Park are classified and collected as references to constant improvements of managing Guandu Natural Park. Analysis of this study has concluded the relation between bird watching activity and bird eco-system is deeply interacted with each other. Through angles of humanitarian, eco-system preservation, city landscape and Park’s management, we’d like to review and to come up with a solution between the value of eco-environment at Guandu Natural Park and bird-watching activity. A solution of generating revenue from bird-watching activities and ecosystem as well as keeping the ecosystem forever is what I’d like to find out and to propose in this study. I, the past emphasis on human beings to bird-beings can not well explain that the future constant development should be based on the diversity of ecosystem. II. From management and operation point of view, the past emphasis on season bird instead of birds in the ecosystem resulted in the over concentration of tourists and lowering the quality of bird seeing. That also brought a mis-interception to people that the sharp drop of tourist number in non tourist season is a matter of operation efficiency. Rather, what we should be concerned is the unbalance of management between season bird and resident bird. To resolve this issue, it''s needed to manage the resident bird in the ecosystem and brought visitors to see them. III. Questionnaire shows that operation of the natural park should make one day Guan du travel a high quality trip combined with entertainment and education. III From natural park''s bird staying management, it''s needed to adjust different types of humiliates in terms of quantity and quality and to promote purpose by exhibiting and educating resident bird and humiliates to achieve the goal of eco-education. In this study, Ⅰ. In order not to limit tourists and keep good quality of traveling, we need to come up with some good ways to achieve it. Ⅱ. How to create the most benefit by means of nearby commercial activities to make Guandu Natural Part become a good one day tour. And it is what owner needs to think about. Ⅲ. By planning and adjusting bird humility, we can pay more attention on instruction and guideline of resident bird, humility, and other species during season of no-bird watching.

In recent years, with the development of leisure tourism and environmental conservation concepts increased, citizen science activities in which participation in bird watching activities while conducting bird monitoring surveys are becoming more and more popular. This study is mainly to explore the bird science resources through the bird watching competition, one kind of the citizen sciences, to construct the bird sightseeing resources of the Dasyueshan National Forest Recreation Area. It also provides the basis for the competent authority to formulate the recreation management strategy and the reference for promoting ecological conservation. In addition, this study also explores the development of bird watching activities in Taiwan, as well as the motivation for birdwatchers to apply citizen science to biodiversity conservation in participating competitions. This study takes the bird resources surveyed in the 2017-2018 of the Dasyueshan National Forest Recreation Area Bird Watching Competition as the research object, and refers to the 2011-2016 bird watching competition data for analysis. The research method is applicable to case studies. A total of 68 teams' competition records were obtained to study the bird species and frequency recorded during the competition between different altitudes and years as the basis for analyzing the dominant species. The number of species as an indicator of the number of common bird species represents they are easily found in the play area. In order to provide information on bird conservation, this study also analyzes the variation of Taiwan's endemic and endemic subspecies, as well as the number of conservation birds at different altitudes and years, to understand the changes in the number of these precious birds by time and the altitude. The results of this study are as follows: (1) There is no significant difference between the number of birds in different altitudes in recent years; (2) The altitude is also significant for the number of dominant species. The number of common dominant species in low-altitude mountainous areas is significantly higher than that in the medium- and high-altitude roads; (3) Analysis of the number of precious birds, the number of endemic species and the conservation species found, at different elevations. There were no significant differences between the segments in different years; (4) Screening of 60 species of common bird production propaganda in the Dasyueshan National Forest Recreation Area.

In recent years, with people’s increasing interest in leisure activities and environmental protection, ecotourism has gradually become the leading trend. For this reason, this study chose bird watching ecotourism as research topic. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the enduring involvement model of bird watching ecotourism and understand the relationship among the bird watchers’ recreation motivation, recreation experiences, recreation benefits, and enduring involvement. The study targeted the members of the Chinese Wild Bird Federation as research subjects, and used both paper-based and Internet questionnaires for survey. A total of 314 valid questionnaires were returned. SPSS 15.0 was used to perform structural description of samples and evaluate each variable of population variance. Moreover, the confirmatory analysis of each aspect of questionnaires was conducted by AMOS 7.0. Finally, each path analysis of the structural model was conducted by AMOS 7.0. The results showed good fitness of model. The results are as follows: 1) bird watchers’ recreation motivation has significant influence on recreation experiences; 2) bird watchers’ recreation experiences have significant correlation with recreation benefits; 3) bird watchers’ recreation benefits has significant influence on enduring involvement. Finally, this study made discussion and stated research implications. Suggestions to the government, planners of ecotourism, and future researches were also proposed.

In recent years, as natural observation of culture became popular, more and more people are willing to enjoy the colorful eco system by watching birds, butterflies, frogs. To encourage people who participate in eco-observation to contribute, for eco-research, citizen science programs are therefore subsequently prevailed. Citizen science refers to voluntarily participation in science program, the volunteers assisted in collecting data, and the scientists then analyze and publish results. Citizen science has been introduced for many years in the United States and Europe, every year tens of thousands of volunteers involved in various scientific programs, such as climate changing, invasive species monitoring, the science ecological surveys, environmental monitoring, astronomical observation. In Taiwan, the bird watching community has accumulated the most representative data science database. However, this repository of data lacks analysis and further utilization.. This study was based on the bird watching records collected on the database platform of the Bird Society of Republic of China, trying to analyze and visualize the data. First, we crawl through the Internet for those records accumulated for 20 years; then data filtering and screening was carried out; then utilizing the Google Map API to augment Bird-watching record with the GPS coordinates; and finally visualized the data through D3.js. The preliminary results were able to show the geographic distribution of these large amounts of data, simple statistics, and time-space longitude data visualization. With the provided result, this research provides bird watcher with valuable information about birds. Also, it can be used as a reference for government while making environmental policy decisions.

Taijiang National Park is the eighth national park established in Taiwan, its territory is rich in natural ecological resources and cultural history and the National Parks Management Office also tried to cooperate with local communities in eco-tourism. This study takes Taijiang National Park as a research area and using Choice Experiment (CE) to estimate the preferences of tourists for bird-watching ecotourism and constructing "Black-faced Spoonbill Watching", "interpretative service", "Day Tour Itinerary (Experience Activity)", "Group Size", and use "Tour fee and additional time to stay" as an assessment attribute to estimate the willingness to pay for the designed attributes. The results of this study were found:1. Visitors prefer to have black-faced spoonbills watching during their trip, combined one-and-two natural experience activities and preferred to reduce the number of groups to 10~20 people and 5~10 people. 2. Visitors can be divided into experienced birder and leisure-experienced tourists based on social background, attitude and bird-watching behavior and they have eterogeneity in preferences. Both types of tourists prefer to watch black-faced spoonbills during their trip. But experienced birdwatchers have higher requirements on group size, leisure experienced tourist prefers to combine experience activities and provide guided interpretive services during the trip. 3. Tourists generally do not tend to stay in the local area after the end of the tour this result can be answered by tourist’s feedback, due to the lack of accommodation services and nighttime activities.

Eco-tourism is projected to be a major travel market. It focuses on the balances between resource conservation and local economic benefits in order to reach the objective of long-term sustainable development. Many eco-tourism issues should be examined for building up theory, developing eco-tourism business, forming management policy, and determining strategies for eco-tourism site. This research focuses on analyzing the attitude and behavior perception of eco-tourism. Four purposes are included: (1) to develop eco-tourism attitude and behavior perception scale, (2) to determine the level of eco-tourism attitude and behavior perception of general bird-watcher, (3) to exam the relationship between eco-tourism attitude and behavior perception; (4) to analyze the influences of tourists’ characteristics on eco-tourism attitude and behavior perception. Five major conclusions are made for this study. First, the developed scales for eco-tourism attitude and behavior perception, which based on six dimensions of “nature based”, “conservation”, “sustainable development”, “special tourists’ motivation", "responsible tourist behavior", and "contribution to local community", are reliable. Second, the average general bird-watchers’ eco-tourism attitude and behavior perception are between neutral and agree. Third, the eco-tourism attitude and behavior perception is positively correlated. Fourth, bird watching behavior variables, “bird watching outfit”, “ability of identify bird species, “types of bird illustrated handbook owned ”, and “number of birds books owned” and few demographic variables, “gender” and “education”, have significant influences on eco-tourism attitude. Finally, bird watching behavior variables, “to join bird watching activity”, “history of bird watching”, “amount of bird watching experience”, “bird watching outfit”, “ability to identify bird species”, “to join environmental conservation groups”, “types of spectacles possessed”, “types of bird illustrated handbook possessed ” and few demographic variables, “gender”, “occupations”, “age” and “marriage status”, have significant influences on eco-tourism behavior perception.

Due to the lack of the measuring tools about ecotourism behaviours, the studies about the factors that influence ecotourism behaviors are quiet few. In order to amend this aspect, this study analyzes the differences between different modes of interpretation services, tourists’ experiences, and ecotourism behaviors. The study also analyzes how leisure experiences influence ecotourism behaviors. The self-edited questionnaires includes three parts: ecotourism behaviors, bird-watching experiences, and demographics of tourists. The data are collected from February 5 to Feruary 28 in 2015, and the samples are the bird-watching tourists in Aogu Forest Recreation Weland. Through convenience sampling, this study collects 415 effective questionnaires. This study uses IBM SPSS Statistics 18 to analyze the demographics of tourists. Further, this paper uses one-way analysis of variables to explore the differences between different modes of interpretation services, tourists’ experiences, and ecotourism behaviors. The study conducts an enter regression analysis to discuss the reliability of ecotourism behaviors. The result hows that the effects of fixed interpretatation is better than those of traveling interpretation, and so does the effects of traveling interpretation than those of no interpretation in all the potential variables of bird-watching experiences. The intensity of interpretation is the key factor that varies ecotourism behaviors. The effects of fixed interpretation are superior to those of no interpretation toward pro-environmental behaviors, environmental friendly behaviors, environmental caring behaviors, and sociocultural beneficial behaviors. But, there are not significant differences between the effects of traveling interpretation and those of no interpretation.

n recent years, climate change, global warming become more serious, so that governments are beginning to pay attention to climate change caused by the causes and consequences, the purpose of this study is to understand the birdwatching activities recreational activities after the participants involved in bird watching activities, climate change perception the level of bird habitat conservation and future environmental action is different. In this study, the use of one-way analysis of variance was informed that climate change has caused significant harm to their differences, show the domestic promotion of environmental education has begun to ferment among small countries, but it is ineffective to the small country after , which means that environmental education should start inking from higher education. In this study, the use of one-way analysis of variance was informed that the natural damage is caused by climate change have a significant difference in perception, and the difference in the cost of snow in north-central France and in the middle of a post hoc analysis of the significant, greater than the average in the north central area. Shows the northern region affected by climate change is more intense with respect to other areas, also shows that climate change has begun to affect the quality of life in northern Taiwan, or how to solve the climate change mitigation has been a matter without delay.

Ponds are unique and valuable figures in Taoyuan’s anthropogenic geographic landscape. Excavated for the demanding of life by man-made historically, a large number of ponds scattered and created here. Therefore, these ponds are created as local habitats for a variety of waterfowl. Since they own diverse ecological landscape, then they become functional bird-watching open spots. Bird-watching is one kind of eco-tourism activities, yet bird-watching areas are well-known in Taoyuan’s ponds and attractions. Conflicted with eco-tourism, bird-watching activities were led less energy saving to cause more transportation routes. Therefore, some bird-watching activities may be inconsistent with eco-tourism which advocates carbon reduction and environmental protection purposes. Therefore, this study based on GIS analysis of road network, such as: Nearest Neighbor Method, Farthest Insertion Method, Sweep Algorithm, Simulated Annealing (SA), Genetic Algorithm (GA) for this research, which aimed at road network analysis and optimal path planning related technologies for bird-watching attractions and surrounding routes Based on the calculated high values of Shannon-Wiener diversity index for bird species, bird-watching attractions were selected as well as their surrounding ponds in Taoyuan’s routes from the properties of data analysis. This simulation estimates and explores the best route planning for bird-watching routes. The study showed that: (1) five route planning analysis of assessment on different measuring points of bird-watching attractions results turned different recreational moving lines as well as different optimal route planning in overall assessment; (2) the analyzed results of simulated annealing algorithm were better than other methods in the modules of shortest and fastest paths while I calculated to obtain the best tourist attractions and route planning from priority-route decisions and relations; (3) a clear statement of advanced results led to help visitors to catch bird-watching attraction for a useful route planning tool in all relations of their routes module according to mapping route plans from road network analysis. According to evaluation results for the best route planning, this approach provided advanced planning experiences will helps us to engage in recreational activities, bird watching from the concepts of eco-tourism.

Abstract During recent years, along with great promotion by Council for Cultural Affairs in order to elaborate the spirit of integrated community development, the relationship between social network and local cultural industry development has been extraordinarily significant on the practice of promoting local cultural industry development actively by each location nationwide. This study conducted social network analysis on Dayuan Township’s bird watching festival and Guanyin Township’s lotus flower festival, meanwhile the comparative study results from these two cases can provide government public sectors, civilian local area organization and cultural industry operators as reference, hopes to elaborate the maximum benefit of social network, so as to be helpful on promoting cultural industry development. This study used those social networks of Dayuan Township and Guanyin Township being applied while holding local cultural festivals as the study objects, applied social capital theory setting by social network as study basis, by ways of literature gathering and interviewing with public/private sectors, civilian operators, adopted social capital theory as framework, investigated the social network performance difference of these two townships in regulatory regime function, communication and integration function, and functional integration, probed into the status quo and various issues resulted from the local social networks of these two townships on developing cultural industry, and finally came out with the study results. In summary, researcher found out the best strategy for local to manage cultural festival, promote local cultural industry development, and apply social network, this strategy will stimulate government public sectors, civilian local area organizations and cultural industry operators to reconsider, and consequently elaborate the maximum benefit of social network while applying it to promote local cultural festival in the future, and thus can achieve more successfully on promoting local cultural industry.

Abstract The purpose of this study is to explore the process of the team of experts to adapt to try and to become mature in the using wireless technology into the outdoor activities of bird watching. The team of experts includes natural scientific teachers, tutors, narrators, and the instructors to aid the mobile learning device offers for bird-watching activities. Researcher made use of qualitative study method to enter experimented activities. In natural outdoor situation, I collected data through the participant observation method, interview, observated records, reflectional notes, and related files. The outcomes of this research are presented following dimensions: 1.There are three experimental schools teamed up with this study. Three experimental schools result the different relationships from adapting to using up-to-date wireless technology. The interactions are also according to the school-administration. Three phases(self-concerns, task-concerns, and impacts-concerns)of collaborated relationship are observed based on the team of experts. 2.The content of courses should attain to knowledge, feeling, and attitude. To take teacher’s life, interest, and specialty to accumulate learner’s knowledge, feeling, and attitude. Therefore, this research made use of the expert to teach the novice.
