ABSTRACTAs the body of scientific knowledge in a discipline increases, there is pressure for specialization. Fields spawn subfields that then become entities in themselves that promote further specialization. The process by which scientists join specialized groups has remarkable similarities to the guild system of the middle ages. The advantages of specialization of science include efficiency, the establishment of normative standards, and the potential for greater rigor in experimental research. However, specialization also carries risks of monopoly, monotony, and isolation. The current tenden

Abstract Paediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) in India has witnessed remarkable growth over the past two decades. Initially, emergencies involving children were predominantly managed by paediatricians and family physicians in homes, walk-in clinics, or general hospital settings. From these beginnings, PEM has evolved into a dynamic and specialized field, driven by dedicated physicians committed to improving access, training, and the quality of emergency care for children. With increasing recognition of the critical role of specialized paediatric emergency care, the field is set for continued ex

The dynamic behaviour and the control action are embedded in the code. Thereby, VehicleSim does not need an external link to another software package. The rotors are articulated, the

This dissertation describes my contributions to this approach. The methods and tools were demonstrated through a case study experiment on response selection and inhibition. The experiment was analyzed via both the standard behavioral approach and the new model-based method, and the two methods were compared head to head. The methods were quantitatively comparable at the individual-level of the analysis.

We first consider a simple particle model where each particle possesses a continuous positive parameter, called mass, which itself determines the particle’s velocity t

Because of this type of analysis, a more general idea of a North/South divide, which sums up in a dichotomic picture the different approaches to migration in the continent, has become the hegemonic interpretative
