Abstract (sommario):
Abstract. This paper improves our understanding of critical junctures, a concept employed in historical institutionalism for exploring change. However, the concept lacks rigour, weakening our ability to define critical junctures. Of late, academics have utilized other mechanisms to identify change in historical institutionalism. Thus, it is within this context that the critical junctures approach is remoulded through the specification of standards, hence reducing uncertainty as to what constitutes a critical juncture. The remoulded approach is employed here in examining change in the Irish Congress of Trade Unions' (ICTU) influence over public policy in 1987.Résumé.

Abstract (sommario):
Qurʾānic scholarship in the west today tends to privilege historical queries, focusing on fragmented texts, their alleged subtexts, and the codex’s earliest venues of transmission. It usually abstains from attempts at making sense of the text as a literary artifact, let alone as an epistemic intervention into the reception of the Bible. Such concerns are left to philology which—if we follow Sheldon Pollock—is a tripartite venture: a query for “textual meaning,” an investigation into the text’s traditional understanding, i.e. its “contextual meaning,” and finally a re-thinking of one’s own scholarly preconceptions and responsibilities, the “philologist’s meaning.” Few topics are better suited to demonstrate the urgency of complementing historical with philological research than the Qurʾān’s controversial relation to the Bible. A fresh approach—updating the time-honored but somewhat fusty historical critical method—is required: a diachronic, yet contextual, and moreover holistic, reading of the Qurʾān. This paper will discuss texts that—featuring Muhammad and Moses respectively—reveal two major shifts in the relationship between the Qurʾān and Biblical tradition.Historical research should not be left alone: philology’s two assets, the contextual reading and moreover the researcher’s self-reflection, need to be admitted to the stage of Qurʾānic Studies. Christian interpretation of the Bible that, for historical and political reasons, has until now not taken the Qurʾān into account, could benefit substantially from the Qurʾān’s Biblical criticism, let alone its intrinsic challenge to rethink prevailing exclusivist positions.

Abstract (sommario):
The mainstream epistemology of social psychology is markedly ahistorical, prioritizing the quantification of processes assumed to be lawful and generalizable. Social psychologists often consider theory to be either a practical tool for summarizing what is known about a problem area and making predictions or a torch that illuminates the counterintuitive causal force underlying a variety of disparate phenomena. I propose a third vision of critical-historical theory. From this perspective, theories should be committed to deep interdisciplinarity and historical validity claims—understanding individual and group experiences as part of historically contingent forces. Theories also should be critical, containing an awareness of the researcher as implicated in the social process and committed to actively improving society. To demonstrate its viability, I review classic works from the history of the discipline that exemplify critical-historical theory and offer concrete implications for theorists interested in employing this approach in their own work.

Abstract (sommario):
Based on a discussion of the relationship between history and archaeology, the author proposes a critical analysis of both written and material sources. All sources are considered textual and should be analysed (reread) on three levels: the conceptual, the intentional and the structural. In an example - an analysis of the meaning of the concept ’land'- the value of the analysis is shown to be the formation of a discursive and meaningful concept in an evolutionary and additive production of knowledge. Rereading ought to be the methodological approach of textual archaeology.

Abstract (sommario):
The article addresses the challenge of conceptualizing agency within a non-dichotomous, dialectical approach that gives full credit to the social roots of agency and does justice to it being an achievement of togetherness possible only in a communal world shared with others. Critical steps in this direction are undertaken by the Transformative Activist Stance (TAS) approach advanced by this article’s author and further developed and applied to various topics by scholars from many parts of the world. This approach is firmly rooted in cultural-historical activity theory yet also moves beyond it in overcoming some of its impasses. The core elements of TAS are discussed to reveal how they coalesce on the nexus of social practices of self- and world-making. Agency is the process that enacts this nexus of ongoing, ceaseless social-individual transformations whereby people simultaneously, in one process, co-create their world and themselves so that each individual person makes a difference and matters in the totality of social practices. Ethical-political entailments of TAS are discussed to combat the legacy of passivity and inequality still permeating psychology and neighboring fields.

Abstract (sommario):
This essay articulates the concept of ‘critical chorography’ through a discussion of the productive intersection of pedagogy in the spatial humanities and map theory as applied to the visualization of early modern maps using contemporary GIS technology. In method, the essay lays out a comparative model for the analysis of maps across early modern and contemporary digital practices by theorizing student-driven practices of mapping first through a deep attention to historical location and documentary evidence, and second, through an inquiry into the digital implications of mapping jurisdictional conflicts through case studies focused on westward expansion in the West Indies. To those ends, the essay examines the drive in contemporary spatial humanities to use the map as a tool of analysis, rather than merely as a platform for visualization and presentation.

Abstract (sommario):
Structural health monitoring (SHM) in historical buildings can be achieved through systems that rely on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Such systems have the ability to acquire information fast and reliably, making them ideal for SHM applications. Historical buildings, having been exposed to the wear of time, are especially sensitive to any kind of intervention. As a result, keeping them as intact as possible is a critical factor for their integrity. In the current work, a low-cost WSN system and a synchronization algorithm are developed in order to be employed for SHM of historical buildings. The synchronization of WSN-based SHM systems is critical for the collection of accurate information describing the building’s condition. The effectiveness of the assumed hardware and the synchronization algorithm were evaluated with two experiments. The first took place under laboratory conditions and its results showcase the algorithm’s accuracy of synchronization. The second experiment was conducted in a real-world environment. For that purpose, the Ionian Campus Testbed was chosen since it comprises buildings that are more than 200 years old. These buildings are appropriate since they were built with thick stone walls which help determine the system’s effectiveness under such conditions. The results derived from the second experiment showcase the effects of the packet transmission collision avoidance mechanism utilized by the assumed hardware. Finally, an estimation of the average clock skew required for accurate information gathering is derived, based on the materials comprising a historical building.

Abstract (sommario):
This paper makes a review of inventory and application of critical pedagogy in education sector, in particular, and also in general practices of critical thinking, skepticism, decision making process, etc. Critical pedagogy as a concept originated and developed in academia, for development of critical mind of learners. Education broadens the students’ views of reality. Education is transformative, bringing all kinds of changes in human mind, as well as in the society and the nation. Education makes students critical and skeptical on the issues which are frequent in their daily life. Therefore, all kinds of social, cultural, economical and political issues are solved by critical mind of the learners. Education must be democratic in nature and system. People in power make education system in their own favour, dominating the powerless people. Therefore, education is political. Those who participate in critical pedagogy resist the constraints that those in power impose on them. Critical pedagogy can be applied in all faculties and subjects like music, economics, mathematics, sociology, political science, English language teaching, English literature teaching, and so on. Teachers also must be qualified with the critical pedagogy approach. They must be confident with the knowledge and skills for applying Freire’s methods of teaching effectively in the classroom. They must be critical thinkers, self-reflective, culturally conscious for the pedagogical situation to enhance students’ understanding of the world. The major purpose of this review is to point out the effectiveness of critical pedagogy in education and in general. After teachers’ role in critical pedagogy, knowledge of the language and of the world, consciousness or ‘conscientization’, power resistance, value judgments, perception of reality and truth, empowerment, transformation, decision making skills, critical thinking, skepticism, negotiation, problem posing and solving, and many other aspects of learning in critical pedagogy are explained in this review paper.

Abstract (sommario):
Within the context of a critical discourse historiographical (CDH) approach to critical discourse studies (CDS), this article applies a range of theories to the Hong Kong Umbrella Movement, or Hong Kong Occupy Movement, to understand it as a discursive event. The CDH approach argues that a diachronic, historiographical approach can contribute to historiography, the writing of history, in that it can create first readings and interpretations of important events. The approach focuses on critical moments in discourse, of which the Hong Kong Umbrella Movement is considered an important one in the context of Hong Kong’s ongoing socio-historical development. Four theories are applied, in addition to the historical analysis, to further interpret the Hong Kong Umbrella Movement phenomenon: social movement theory, performance theory, identity theory and social action as text theory. It is concluded that the CDH approach to CDS and findings of the study may be useful in the consideration of other social movements and Occupy movements globally.

Abstract (sommario):
"Phenomenological critique attempts to retrieve the lived experience of a human community alienated from its truthful condition and immersed in historical crises brought by processes of objectification and estrangement. This introductory article challenges two methodological assumptions that are largely shared in North American Critical Phenomenology: the definition of phenomenology as a first person approach of experience and the rejection of transcendental eidetics. While reflecting on the importance of otherness and community for phenomenology’s critical orientation, we reconsider the importance of eidetics from the standpoint of Husserl’s genetic phenomenology, highlighting its historical and contingent character. Contrary to the received view of Husserl’s classical phenomenology as an idealistic and rigid undertaking, we show that his genetic phenomenology is interested in the material formation of meaning (Sinnbildung), offering resources for a phenomenological approach to a materialist social theory. Abstract (sommario):
A historical survey and critical evaluation concerning discipleship in the Fourth Gospel The historical survey about discipleship in the Fourth Gospel indicates that the literature of the second half of this century was sketchy about this theme. Up till 1972 a thematic-theological approach highlighted some characteristics of discipleship as they appeared in all four gospels. The study of Jimenez (1972) was the first substantial approach to research about discipleship in the Fourth Gospel and caused a paradigm shift to restrict his study to only the Fourth Gospel. During the 80's the interest about this theme increased, due to Rudolph Bultmann. After Bultmann more attention was paid to the situation and circumstances of the audience which contribute to a greater interest on discipleship and ecclesiology in the Fourth Gospel. Although no constant current influence on discipleship has been observed, most scholars are unanimous that the focal point of discipleship lies in the "Last Discourse".

Great deal of Ishiguro’s text depth and complexity arises from the unreliability of the narrator whose narration presents several interpretive versions and controversial issues.</p>

Abstract (sommario):
This article is a theoretical study using the method of literacy study. It aims to discuss and study historical learning in a new perspective. Learning of history should be oriented to provide historical knowledge and introduce the noble values of the nation. Because, those two things will not have meaning for the lives of students if they do not understand the meaning of every historical event that they have learned. Efforts to realize meaningful historical learning, related to students' actions for reflective thinking. One thing that cannot be separated from the study of critical pedagogy is reflective thinking. Applying critical pedagogy in learning history, which means emphasizing critical theory as an analytical tool for reading various historical realities in learning. It is expected that students will be able to interact with each other and study various historical realities so that they can reflect on themselves and think critically about these realities. Discussing the learning of history in the concept of critical pedagogy is a new approach that seeks to help students in the process of historical learning. So that they can question and criticize every material in historical learning so that it gives birth to critical-reflective thinking that makes students able to learn and interpret every historical fact and historical learning material in school.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract In this paper, I show how the phenomenological and hermeneutic traditions and method converge on their treatment of the historical subject. Thinkers from both traditions converge on the following thesis: that subjectivity is shaped by a historical worldview. Each tradition provides independent grounds and methodological approaches which provide accounts of how these worldviews are shaped, and thus how essentially historical subjective experience is molded. In the second part of this paper I argue that both traditions, although offering helpful ways of understanding the way history shapes subjectivity, go too far in their epistemic claims for the superiority of subjective over positivist or academic history. They propose that the historicity of subjective experience is unexpressed and therefore inexpressible in positivist or academic history. I propose that although the phenomenological-hermeneutic approach to historical subjectivity is both fruitful and valuable for understanding both history and human nature, it cannot and ought not replace academic or what I will call ‘critical’ history. By showing the importance of historicity, and the force of historical consciousness on our actions, philosophers of history in these traditions expose the epistemic and perhaps even ethical requirement to engage in a rigorous critical history, one which recognizes the importance of historical consciousness. Such critical history is necessary to move beyond the subjective horizon of history as experienced to understand how events shaped this historical horizon.

A historical critical approach to narratives has contributed significantly to the analysis of ancient narratives. However, this approach has somehow unfairly ignored some other critical aspects of many ancient narratives. Judith is no exception to this claim. While appreciating the contribution of historical critical approaches to Judith (i.e., the questions on authorship, historical and geographical inconsistencies etc.), the aim of this article is to go beyond the historicity of Judith, and reveal some narrative techniques employed by the author in creating a woman protagonist who is destined to achieve the unthinkable in the minds of the men of her contemporary world. This article explores these narrative techniques by employing the narrative analysis, narrative syntax in particular, of the Greimassian approach to narrative texts. Subsequently, this article contributes to research of Judith by revealing the path that Judith followed on her quest to save the Jewish religion from extinction during the Second Temple period.Â

Abstract (sommario):
Knowledge is fundamental to understand the key characteristics of a heritage building. Furthermore, constructive analysis of a historical construction is central to research into its structural behavior. This work aims to increase the knowledge level of a historical construction by the understanding of the constructive evolution through Historical-Building Information Modeling (H-BIM) workflow. The research proposes a multidisciplinary approach applicable to the field of historical constructions, which is resumed in the followings steps: historical-critical analysis, material and soil characterization, data organization through H-BIM, qualitative static and dynamic structural analysis, validation of the results. The building of Quartel da Tropa – located in Florianópolis, Brazil – is used as a practical case study to show how the proposed research can be adapted to historical buildings. Such an impressive eighteen-century masonry construction is the largest troop barracks among Brazilian fortifications. The proposed approach allows the creation of a structural model from the architectural model with fewer uncertainties and less simplification, improving the knowledge path of historical constructions and its structural assessment. The historical-critical analysis and the H-BIM allow managing and presenting of the information useful to the understanding of the constructive phase evolution of a historical building.

Abstract This article is conceptualised within the framework of a historiographical approach to critical discourse analysis (Flowerdew 2012). It focusses on a critical moment in Hong Kong’s socio-political development, the Occupy movement, and a specific language event, an interview on a local Hong Kong English-language television programme discussing the rationale for the movement. A micro-analysis of the interaction focusses on important features of the historical context, intertextual links, the backgrounds and the roles of the participants, and the argumentations strategies used by them. The article shows how a focus on a critical moment in discourse can shed light on the bigger socio-political picture and how arguments regarding particular topics may reflect larger ideological struggles, the political agendas of different groups, and the ways arguments are constructed dialogically in response not only to the words of interlocutors, but also in relation to prior (and future) discourses.

The authors examine the history of brand management by tracing its development in the context of the marketing environment from 1870 to the present. They develop six theses regarding the evolution of brand management and its implications and substantiate them utilizing a historical approach. They demonstrate that the brand manager system originated well after the leadership of branded products was established, it was adopted following a conventional adoption curve pattern, and it has proven quite adaptable to differing firm and marketing environments over the past several decades. They then evaluate its likely fate in today's rapidly changing environment.

Abstract (sommario):
The object. An urgent issue of modern economic science is the study of critical unstable states in macro-systems, including in the hospitality industry, have presented with using the cognitive potential of system analysis. The goal. As a scientific aim, the problem of systemic representation and reconstruction of critically unstable conditions has identified in the hospitality industry with the subsequent determination of their ontological status. At the same time, the hospitality industry is presented as an open system with inherent processes and probable vectors of evolutionary development. Methodology. The study is based on the conceptual resource of the systemic approach, which provided an opportunity to sufficiently analyze the structure of the studying subject and its ontological framework. The practice of structural-logical method in the framework of a systemic approach allows us to imagine the hospitality industry as integrity, which can be patently visualized. The instrumental nature of the clearly historical method in the research context, the genesis comes from classical academical point of view, it gave the possibility to identify and describe the critical states of the studying object in the historical context in XX–XXI centuries. Results. Based on the cognitive potential of the systemic approach, the structural-logical method and the clearly historical method, the authors have developed a structural-logical scheme for representing the hospitality industry (Figure 1). A terminological clarification of the critical unstable states of the system is given in relation to the hospitality industry. In schedule form (Table 1), the main critical unstable conditions of the domestic hospitality industry are systematized in XX–XXI centuries. Conclusions. In the presented text, the main findings of the study are systematized. The obtained results should subsequently become the basis for the formation of a research theoretical scientific base for the control of the corresponding semi-structured objects and systems in dynamically off-balance states.

Three related layers of a dynamic analysis compose the CDA: (1) analysis of the text, (2) analysis of the practice of discursive, and (3) analysis of social practices. In the context of the historical learning based on constructivism paradigm, the third layer used to assess the development of the system and the structure of the thinking of learners. CDA approach used to analyze and assess the work of learners. The work of learners that analyzed by the CDA approach is descriptive test. In the learning process, CDA needs a rubric based on the discourse analysis and the level of development of thinking learners. Based on the results of the research, the CDA used to assess the historical learning process, particularly in the constructivism paradigm. The learning assessment expected to be an alternative assessment, which is not only quantitatively assessing the student knowledge, but also to measure the development of the system and the structure of the thinking of learners.

Abstract (sommario):
The system of modern humanitarian education should focus on the formation of a person capable of transmitting cultural values, norms, ideals, forms of reproduction of the national-cultural world, to promote the formation of interethnic tolerant relations. Local history as a component of humanitarian historical education contributes to the activation of the creative potential of students, opens their diverse opportunities, creates conditions for personal and social interests, cultivates civic competencies. The authors of the article tried to summarize the existing experience of domestic local history studies, analyze the main directions of research and methods of their knowledge, as well as reveal the possibilities of local history in the process of activating the creative potential of students, especially students of history. During the preparation of the future specialist-historian, the disciplines of local history play a significant role. Their implementation is not only one of the stages of theoretical training of students, but also the result of practical orientation in preparation for practical classes, independent creative activity, individual, research work, as well as during industrial and pedagogical practice. The discipline " Local history" plays a significant role in this process. The study of the history of the native land is transformed from a methodological approach into a general pedagogical principle and creates a basis for the formation of deep professional knowledge, historical thinking, promotes creative understanding of the experience gained by local historians from different regions of Ukraine.

Abstract (sommario):
Kata-kata kunci: Pendekatan Redemptive-Historical, Epistemologi, Kristologi Modern Kristologi Pascamodern, Hermeneutika Injili Kristosentris On the one hand, the emphasis of modernism on rationality and historicity has produced a critical-objective Christology. On the other hand, post-modernism with a pluralist epistemology produces subjective Christology. Responding to, and bridging the two sides of this problem, the redemptive-historical hermeneutical approach is proposed as an alternative evangelical approach. The Christ-centered approach as the culmination of the history of redemption (as witnessed to in the Bible) links three horizons, namely: textual, epochal, and canonical to interpret the text of the Scriptures holistically. This approach analyzes syntax, literary context, historical context and its genre (textual horizon), links it to the history of redemption (epochal horizon), and sees it in the light of the canon (canonical horizon). The combination of these three elements emphasizes the dynamic fulfillment of God’s promises. Thus, the historical redemptive hermeneutical approach can lead Christians to read and interpret the Christocentric Bible. Keywords: Redemptive-Historical Approach, Epistemology, Modernist Christology, Post-modernist Christology, Christ-centered Evangelical Hermeneutics

Abstract (sommario):
Over the last century, the transsphenoidal approach has evolved into the first-line method of treatment for sellar as well as select groups of parasellar and suprasellar lesions. The journey to its current popularity has been marked by controversy and near abandonment in the late 1920s, followed by its renaissance in the late 1960s. Despite the profound skepticism with which this procedure was viewed, several visionary neurosurgeons persevered through its nadir in popularity, preserving this surgical corridor to the skull base. Advances in medical and surgical techniques, paralleling an improved understanding of pituitary pathophysiology, contributed to its resurgence. The transsphenoidal procedures now performed stem from an array of modifications and refinements accumulated through nearly 100 years of medical and surgical evolution. This era's critical innovations and neurosurgical personalities are the topic of this historical overview.

Abstract (sommario):
Ample literature argues that media is vital for the functioning of democratic public discourse and helps other firms comply with effective governance. While scholars have focused on understanding media’s impact on corporate governance, they have not thoroughly investigated how media companies are governed. Accordingly, we adopt a qualitative and comparative historical case narrative approach for investigating and analyzing corporate governance in commercial media firms. The paper contributes nuanced and critical insights into governance practices in the context of institutional change. Our evidence suggests that commercial media, suffering from firm governance challenges, may not have the collective capacity to effectively function as meaningful discursive components in capitalist systems. The paper concludes with a critical discussion and additional areas for future research.

It shows that Verhoeven’s portrait of Jesus as a ‘last minute revolutionary’ is unconvincing due to major methodological shortcomings, inter alia regarding the critical evaluation of the sources, the neglect of form-critical insights, the absence of coherent methodology. The article concludes by summing up differences between a historical and a cinematic approach to Jesus.

Abstract The basic understanding of critical discourse analysis is that discourse is not only understood as an object of language study. Language in the analysis of critical discourse in addition to the text also in the context of language as a tool that used for specific purposes and practices in the scope of setting, situation, history, power, and ideology. The Context is everything outside of the language itself. The main purpose of critical discourse analysis is to reveal the blur in discourse. To analyze the critical discourse, there were several approaches presented by experts, as follow; First, Norman Fairclough's approach produces a three-dimensional framework in understanding and analyzing discourse, namely the dimensions of discourse as text, discourse as discursive practice, and discourse as social practice by utilizing semiotics. Second, the approach to critical discourse analysis offered by Van Leeuwen centers on describing social actors in discourse and explaining how social actors were represented in a text. Third, Van Dijk's discourse analysis approach assembles sociocognitive ideologies, so that critical discourse analyzers could reveal ideologies hidden behind the text. Fourth, Wodak proposes a historical-discourse approach, which always integrates analysis of the historical context into the interpretation of discourse. While the fifth, Sara Mills’ approach emphasizes how women who were always marginalized were displayed in the text.

Abstract (sommario):
Purpose Definitions of entrepreneurial marketing (EM) abound. Unfortunately, a consensus definition and a unified description of the construct still eludes scholars in the field, as multiple frameworks of EM have been proposed without agreement on which is the most valid and what variables are critical to an EM framework. The purpose of this paper is to provide a more comprehensive definition and framework of EM. Design/methodology/approach Following a review of the extant literature pertaining to EM, as well as a brief review of the relevant literature regarding entrepreneurship in general, the authors identified a set of variables common and critical to this marketing approach. The authors then examined the historical case of Lillian McMurry, the founder of Trumpet Records, to provide a historical example of EM. Utilizing an abductive approach, the authors repeatedly analyzed the case alongside the salient literature. Findings Through a methodology of systematic combining, the authors were able to advance a more comprehensive framework and definition of EM. Research limitations/implications The primary limitation of most single case studies is the issue of generalizability. However, the authors accept the trade-off between limited generalizability and the conceptual understanding that this historical case provided. Originality/value The proposal of a comprehensive definition and process framework of the relatively nascent construct of EM, supported by a historical case example, provides a solid base upon which future research can investigate the nuances of the variables critical to this emerging marketing approach.

Abstract (sommario):
Research syntheses in education, particularly meta-analyses and best-evidence syntheses, identify evidence-based practices by combining findings across studies whose constructs are similar enough to warrant comparison. Yet constructs come preloaded with social, historical, political, and cultural assumptions that anticipate how research problems are framed and solutions formulated. The information research syntheses provide is therefore incomplete when the assumptions underlying constructs are not critically understood. We describe and demonstrate a new systematic review method, critical construct synthesis (CCS), to unpack assumptions in research synthesis and to show how other framings of educational problems are made possible when the constructs excluded through methodological elimination decisions are taken into consideration.

The scope of this survey is the uncovering of potential critical events from mixed PMU data sets. An unsupervised procedure is introduced with the use of different outlier detection methods. For that, different techniques for signal analysis are used to generate features in time and frequency domain as well as linear and non-linear dimension reduction techniques. That approach enables the exploration of critical grid dynamics in power systems without prior knowledge about existing failure patterns. Furthermore new failure patterns can be extracted for the creation of training data sets used for online detection algorithms.

In view of the concern with the insertion of critical environmental education in school, we seek theoretical-methodological contributions in critical historical pedagogy. In this sense, this article will address theoretical reflections that are born within the “Grupo de Pesquisa em Educação Ambiental” - Unesp-Bauru and that were issued during the 1st Symposium on Dialectical Historical Materialism and Research on Science Education and Environmental Education. Thus, we approach the question of the content of critical environmental education from the curriculum design of critical historical pedagogy. Despite the question of the content and form of Environmental Education being present since its origins, we understand that the indepth debate on what should be its content in the school context is still absent. In this sense, assuming the school insertion of critical Environmental Education as the core of the curriculum is a way to overcome its limitations in theory and practice for the human formation necessary for social transformation.

Abstract (sommario):
The article is devoted to the sociological approach to the phenomenon of revolution as a “pure type” free from political and historical content. It deals with socio-ontological, methodological, socio-psychological and ethical-axiological grounds for the critical approach to the phenomenon of revolution in classical and contemporary theories. Socio-ontological arguments are proposed by sociologists who regard revolutions as disaster because social systems (as “living organisms” or any complex systems, regardless of their origin) are certain to be in balance. According to the socio-psychological critical arguments, revolutions activate irrational aggressive crowds capable of destruction only. Besides, this approach is based on the study of false interpretations and the phenomenon of the “revolution of rising expectations”. Methodological criticism aims at social revolution as an inevitable integral element of Utopian engineering. The meaning of the confrontation is as follows: piecemeal technology versus holistic large-scale experiment. According to the ethical and axiological arguments, the revolution as a violent collective action, in the name of the desired equality and justice, leads to victims inevitably.

Abstract (sommario):
A summary and critical evaluation of B. S. Childs' canonical approach Childs is disappointed with the results of the historical critical method. He made an appeal for a totally new approach in which the relation between historical critical study of the Bible and its theological use as religious literature within the community of faith will be completely rethought. He proposes a canonical approach in which the final form of the text, not the pre- or past-canonical developments, will be normative for the community of faith. Because of Childs' enormous influence as Old Testament interpreter and the high standard of his work in the past, expectations ran high for the publication of his Old Testament Theology. In the light of his bold influence and the enormous promise of his work, Old Testament Theology in a canonical context is unfortunately a disappointment. One can only hope that he still intends writing a book that will illustrate how a theology is written in canonical context.

Abstract (sommario):
The paper illustrates a holistic approach for restoring historic gardens in urbanized contexts, from the historic analysis, to the knowledge of the present values, to the proposal of guidelines for restoration and future sustainable management. The Royal Park of Moncalieri Castle (Turin metropolitan area, north-west Italy) was used as a case study. The evaluation of the current structure, analysis of the botanical component and the recognition of historical permanences were performed. Following the criteria of specific interest (forestry, botanical and compositional) and historical importance, invasive species and specific critical issue, selected trees were described and mapped. Identifying the historical compositional elements, including a system of preferential paths and botanical species to be safeguarded should be considered the first step for future management planning process. Our results could be of interest both for methodological purposes and for the restoration of historical gardens’ planning and management. During the restoration process, different critical issues exist. In this context, combining historical and compositional values with today’s needs and problems is a scientific challenge that involve all the community. Historic parks and gardens must be considered as patches of the urban green infrastructure, able to provide a wide set of ecosystem services. Promoting the return of historic parks to the public fruition is of primary importance for the citizen well-being.

Historical knowledge has always occupied a distinctive status in human knowledge, as it can truly liberate humankind from their illusions and the transcendent conception of oneself and the past eras, which requires both objectivity and scientific approach. Therefore, I was keen on providing through this research, a historical study revolving mainly around the methodological, scientific, and critical approach, as well as its cognitive aspect in terms of the importance of content, in order to examine the current situation by studying the past. Therefore, a trustworthy historian is required to be based on his awareness of the conditions which he lives under, regardless of his geographical location. And he must wonder: isn’t it among the most crucial and important tasks of the historian, today, to be as equally invested in his current era and circumstances by being a legitimate thinker, even if he was dating back to previous eras ? Are we not supposed to benefit from the methods of experts in sociology and history and critical methodology, in the times where the Islamic minds stagnated, without neglecting the necessity to pay attention to the pitfalls of these curriculums? I have noticed that there has been a cruel indulgence in the early Islamic history record. This requires Muslim researchers, thinkers, and historians to dig deeper into the early Islamic past, as well as getting rid of the emotional reading because of how it impacts the way Muslims perceive their religion, history and how they subsequently react and relate to others who are different from them. This leads to increasing their extremist tendencies and intolerances.

This study aims to determine the relevance of local history learning to increasing critical thinking skills. Today's critical thinking skills have become the main ability students must have, but the history learning application which still tends to focus on improving students' cognitive by requiring students to memorize historical facts, makes students not have the opportunity to think critically. The lack of discussion of local history is also a problem in itself for learning history, even though local history can help students find meaning in learning history by examining events that are close to the student's environment. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a two-group pretest and posttest design. The results obtained indicate that historical learning that integrates local history using a contextual teaching and learning approach can improve students' critical thinking skills, this can be proven by the t test which was carried out by obtaining a significance of 0.00 <0.05, meaning that there is a significant and positive influence on history learning. local to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract (sommario):
This paper carries out a critical review of the trends of historical writings in Assam. The historiographical study reveals that the beginning of the historical phase was, in fact, late in the North East region. Moreover, in many of these historical writings, the importance of the local histories of the communities of the region was ignored. The author highlights the fact that a pan-Indian history for the region may not be authentic enough to understand the cultural dynamics of the complex society of the Northeast. The author also focuses on corroborating ‘proper’ historical source material for reconstructing the history of the region rather than deriving inferences from mythology and legends. However, the importance of recent trends in historiography such as selective utilisation of oral traditions, folklores and memory studies has been emphasised. An alternative and more precise periodisation of the historical phase has been provided which does not, however, project any clear marker between periods and eras but emphasises on slow and steady transformations. Importance of archaeological sources and material evidence has been kept in mind while deriving periodical divisions. Relooking at the history of the Koches, Kacharis has been emphasised.

Abstract (sommario):
This article provides a critical examination of the contribution that statecraft theory, which has been subject to recent revision and development, makes to the literature on institutional change. It articulates an emergentneo-statecraft approach that offers an agent-led form of historical institutionalism. This overcomes the common criticism that historical institutionalists underplay the creative role of actors. The article also argues that the approach brings back into focus the imperatives of electoral politics as a source of institutional change and provides a macro theory of change which is also commonly missing from historical institutionalist work. It can therefore identify previously unnoticed sources of stability and change, especially in states with strong executives and top-down political cultures.

AbstractThis paper is an attempt to reinterpret the Song of Songs 7:10 - 8: 4 using the Critical Historical approach in a gender perspective. The Critical Historical Approach is a method of interpretation that emphasizes historical findings, both the history of the text and the history of the context of the text. For a very long time this passage has been interpreted allegorically, human relations with God are like lovers, but this time the text will be interpreted more freely and let it speak independently of traditional concepts of thought. The Song of Songs 7:10 - 8: 4 was written in the Babylonian Exile when the Persian Empire ruled the land. In socio-historical terms, the text can be understood to offer a new concept for the improvement of the nation which at that time needed new strength, namely gender equality between men and women. Equality of both sexes is an idea that is a great leap in that era.Key Words: Song of Songs 7:10 -8: 4, Interpretation, Gender Perspective, Equality.
