Market intelligence (MI) has evolved as a strong concept in last years. After debates which produced various views, a stable conceptual base was reached. Here, MI is studied with the insertion of analytics. The influence of analytics insertion in market intelligence cycle potentializes MI dynamicity, delivering knowledge in a more prompter way for strategic marketing planning decisions, serving both as an example of organizational strategic alignment and fast tactical planning, specially resulting in a context where innovation – product, process, market and organizational types – and its associated management are improved. Reflections around competitive strengths and related perspectives are studied at the end of this text, enabling further discussions and application unfolding.

ABSTRACT Objective: to characterize nurses graduated from the School of Nursing of the University of São Paulo, from 2006 to 2012; verify their entry, facilitating factors and difficulties of these graduates in the labor market and to consider their skills and competences in the world of work. Method: an exploratory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Results: out of 505 graduates, 172 (34.1%) participated in the research. Entry into the labor market was mainly via public hospital institutions, in the SE of Brazil, in the caregiving sectors. The greater part remained from one to two years in their first job. Most agreed that they were prepared to meet the health needs of the population. Furthermore, they had been encouraged to seek systematic and continuous improvement in a critical, reflexive and creative way, while combining technical-scientific knowledge and personal skills. Conclusion: the results show that the University of São Paulo has been preparing nurses for work in the labor market, in accordance with the provisions of the National Curricular Guidelines.

The southern state of Quintana Roo, Mexico has been, for almost a century, stage of a colonization strategy based on community forestry. To consolidate this initiative, forest product marketing is of central importance. To understand related problems, it has proven useful to see them as embedded in value chains. The present study aims at understanding the main determinants in the changes in value chains that imply improvement or deterioration in the position of forest communities. To this purpose, a historical approach has been chosen. Based on archival studies and bibliographical research, four aspects of value chain development – land uses, governmental action, value chain actors, and external demand – have been analysed for the first half of the 20th century. Two major value chains were identified for this period. The first concerned the production of chewing-gum base, elaborated from the sap of Manilkara sapota, a tree species very common in the region. The second concerned mahogany logs. While communities were able to insert themselves in the first value chain, mahogany log production remained in the hands of private companies throughout the time analysed. The insertion of communities was made possible due to a bold governmental effort and the relative negotiating weakness of international buyers, which were exposed to strong competition in a quickly concentrating market. The insertion in the chewing-gum value chain brought significant income increases for forest communities and its members. It also implied a clearer “interface”, in which negotiations became more market driven, and less dependent on factors like state financing or political will.

Abstract Insertions of the yeast element Ty3 resulting from induced retrotransposition were characterized in order to identify the genomic targets of transposition. The DNA sequences of the junctions between Ty3 and flanking DNA were determined for two insertions of an unmarked element. Each insertion was at position -17 from the 5' end of a tRNA-coding sequence. Ninety-one independent insertions of a marked Ty3 element were studied by Southern blot analysis. Pairs of independent insertions into seven genomic loci accounted for 14 of these insertions. The DNA sequence flanking the insertion site was determined for at least one member of each pair of integrated elements. In each case, insertion was at position -16 or -17 relative to the 5' end of one of seven different tRNA genes. This proportion of genomic loci used twice for Ty3 integration is consistent with that predicted by a Poisson distribution for a number of genomic targets roughly equivalent to the estimated number of yeast tRNA genes. In addition, insertions upstream of the same tRNA gene in one case were at different positions, but in all cases were in the same orientation. Thus, genomic insertions of Ty3 in a particular orientation are apparently specified by the target, while the actual position of the insertion relative to the tRNA-coding sequence can vary slightly.

Abstract Replication-defective gammaretroviral vectors have successfully been used for gene marking and therapy studies. Recently, we and others have shown that proto-oncogene upregulation due to retroviral vector insertion may trigger malignant transformation of engineered cells. We have now investigated whether insertional mutagenesis may also influence the contribution of individual cell clones to normal long-term hematopoiesis. Therefore, using LM-PCR we retrieved retroviral insertion sites from hematopoietic cells of mice exhibiting progression to oligoclonal or monoclonal hematopoiesis upon serial bone marrow transplantation. From 28 mice analyzed (12 primary, 16 secondary) we obtained a total of 67 insertions that matched the murine genome. In samples harvested from primary recipients seven months after transplantation of gene-marked cells a number of intriguing hits (HoxB4, Evi1, Ly78, Ccnd3, Pip5k2a) was found obviously already reflecting selection for long-term repopulating ability. Strikingly, almost all clones analyzed five months after serial transplantation revealed hits in genes with an established or potential role in the self-renewal process of hematopoietic stem cells (e.g., Vegfa, HoxB4, CyclinD3, Evi1) or other genes involved in the regulation of cell survival (Ly78, Pip5k2a, Irf2bp, Cflar). Two (Evi1, Ccnd3) among the 13 insertions associated with serial repopulation activity were already established common integration sites (CIS) in the context of mouse leukemias elicited by replication-competent retroviruses (RTCGD database). Using RT-PCR transcriptional activation involving fusion transcripts originating from the retroviral LTR into exons could be detected for the two genes (HoxB4, Vegfa) tested. Interestingly, Evi1 was the only gene targeted several times - with distinct insertions in 5 different clones. However, despite the fact that Evi1 was also the only established proto-oncogene found to be marked, four of the clones detected in primary recipients were lost upon serial transplantation. This indicates that insertion into the Evi1 locus, although having the potential to promote engraftment and/or survival of a given clone, was not sufficient for malignant transformation. Thus our data demonstrate a delicate regulatory balance following insertional mutagenesis by replication-deficient retroviral vectors. These findings have major implications for interpreting results from diagnostic gene marking experiments, for gene therapy, and the discovery of genes regulating stem cell turnover. Pensar hoje na questão da emancipação feminina talvez possa parecer em um primeiro momento, para muitas mulheres, uma tarefa mais fácil do que há algumas décadas anteriores, na medida em que a entrada da mulher no mercado de trabalho e a conquista de direitos até então não reconhecidos, trazem uma sensação de maior liberdade e controle sobre suas vidas e escolhas. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar se a inserção da mulher no mercado de trabalho pode ser considerada um caminho de sua emancipação e relativa autonomia. De fato, para muitas mulheres, a entrada no mercado de trabalho lhes possibilitou concretamente uma maior inserção como consumidoras, e de certa forma sua independência econômica. Porém, ao analisarmos essa inserção podemos constatar que em grande parte as mulheres vivenciam cargos, funções e salários inferiores aos dos homens, sendo muitas vezes submetidas a situações precárias de trabalho. Assim, percebemos que ao longo das últimas décadas, ocorreu de fato uma crescente feminização da pobreza, acentuada pela cor de sua pele, classe social e as assimétricas relações patriarcais de gênero, traduzidas na imputação de duplas e triplas jornadas de trabalho, reforçando a divisão sexual do trabalho. Tais condições sociais se agravam quando essas mulheres têm de enfrentar condições insalubres e de violência para a reprodução de sua vida e de sua família como as existentes nos espaços segregados de nosso país.
Today, thinking about the issue of women s emancipation may, at first, seem for many women, an easier task than a few decades ago, since the entry of women into the labor market and the conquer of non recognized wrights bring a sense of greater freedom and control over their lives and choices. The present study aims to analyze if the insertion of women into the labor market can be considered a path of their emancipation and relative autonomy. In fact, for many women, entering the labor market has concretely enabled them to become more involved as consumers, and to a certain extent their economic independence. However, when analyzing this insertion, we can see that in large part, women do experience lower positions, functions and salaries than men, and are often subjected to precarious work situations. Thus, we perceive that over the last decades there has indeed been a growing feminization of poverty, accentuated by the color of their skin, social class and the asymmetrical patriarchal gender relations, translated into imputation of double and triple working hours, reinforcing the division of work. Such social conditions are aggravated when these women have to face unhealthy conditions and violence for the reproduction of their life and their family as those existing in the segregated spaces of our country.

This study investigates the impact on the contribution of industrial learning for employability among young learners. The Government, through the Law of the Apprentice (10,097 / 2000) has been implementing policies to generate employment for youth 14 to 24 years in colleges, in order to foster job creation among the younger age group, working to achieve social inclusion, self-esteem and ensure development opportunities for this segment of society. To assess the impact of participation in the courses of SENAI will be utilized the methodology of Propensity Score Matching and the result shows positive for those who underwent industrial training courses, increasing the probability of an individual entering the labor market.
O presente trabalho investiga o impacto da contribuiÃÃo da aprendizagem industrial para a empregabilidade entre os jovens aprendizes. O Governo, atravÃs da Lei do Aprendiz (Lei 10.097/ 2000), vem implementando polÃticas de geraÃÃo de emprego para jovens de 14 a 24 anos, nas escolas profissionalizantes, no intuito de fomentar a geraÃÃo de emprego nessa faixa etÃria, colaborando para alcanÃar a inclusÃo social, a autoestima e assegurar oportunidades de desenvolvimento para esse segmento da sociedade. Para avaliar o impacto da participaÃÃo nos cursos do SENAI foi empregada a metodologia de Propensity Score Matching. O resultado aponta positivamente para aqueles que realizaram cursos de aprendizagem industrial, elevando a probabilidade de o indivÃduo ingressar no mercado de trabalho.

O propÃsito deste trabalho à analisar a inserÃÃo no mercado de trabalho de pessoas com diferentes nÃveis de deficiÃncias no Estado do PiauÃ. Para isto, utilizou-se um modelo Logit de probabilidade de trabalho para pessoas com dificuldades declaradas de visÃo, audiÃÃo e locomoÃÃo nos seguintes nÃveis: i) alguma dificuldade permanente, ii) grande dificuldade permanente, e iii) incapacidade. A base de comparaÃÃo foram pessoas que declararam nÃo ter nenhuma dificuldade, e a base de dados utilizada foi a amostra representativa do Censo 2000 â IBGE para o estado do PiauÃ. Evidenciou-se que a probabilidade de inserÃÃo no mercado de trabalho aumenta com o nÃvel de dificuldade declarada, apresentando um sobresalto significativo para a incapacidade. Entre as deficiÃncias encontradas, observouse que as dificuldades relativas de inserÃÃo no mercado sÃo menores para a audiÃÃo quando comparadas à visÃo e locomoÃÃo. Outros resultados de inserÃÃo do mercado de trabalho foram padrÃes na literatura como a importÃncia da educaÃÃo e a funÃÃo quadrÃtica da idade na probabilidade de trabalho. Destaca-se ainda que o recebimento de transferÃncias do governo mostrou ter uma correlaÃÃo negativa com a oferta de trabalho. Este resultado, no contexto da deficiÃncia, enfatiza que embora seja importante a cobertura do governo Ãs pessoas com deficiÃncia, à preciso que esta nÃo gere incentivos adversos para estas pessoas.
The intention of this work is to analyze the insertion in the market of work of people with different levels of deficiencies in the State of the PiauÃ. For this it used a Logit model of probability of work for people with declared difficulties of vision, hearing and locomotion in the following levels: i) some permanent difficulty, II) great permanent difficulty, and III) incapacity. The comparison base had been people whom they had declared not to have no difficulty, and the database used was the representative sample of the Census 2000 - IBGE for the state of the PiauÃ. It was proven that the probability of insertion in the work market increases with the level of declared difficulty, presenting a significant on-jump for the incapacity. Between the found deficiencies, it was observed that the relative difficulties of insertion in the market are lesser for the hearing when compared the vision and locomotion. Other results of insertion of the work market had been standards in literature as the importance of the education and the quadrÃtica function of the age in the work probability. It is distinguished despite the act of receiving of transferences of the government showed to have a negative correlation with offers of work. This result in the context of the deficiency emphasizes that even so it is important the covering of the government the people with deficiency, is necessary that this does not generate adverse incentives for these people.

Esta pesquisa versa sobre as recentes mudanças no mundo do trabalho e a inserção do assistente social no mercado de trabalho em Manaus/AM. Em particular, centra-se na inserção dos assistentes sociais egressos do Centro Universitário do Norte – Uninorte Laureate, em um mercado de trabalho impactado por mudanças advindas do processo de acumulação do capital e sua reestruturação produtiva, cujas consequências atingem as diversas categorias de trabalhadores. No Brasil, especificamente em Manaus/AM, o mercado de trabalho não ficou imune a tais consequências e os diversos trabalhadores, entre eles os assistentes sociais, sofrem com a precarização do trabalho. Assim, este estudo sugere uma reflexão sobre as mudanças no mundo do trabalho e seus impactos para o mercado de trabalho, particularmente para o mercado de trabalho do assistente social, em um contexto de ampliação do número de Instituições de Ensino Superior que propiciam a formação destes profissionais de forma crescente e em um momento de restrição de espaço e oportunidade de inserção profissional. Para viabilizar tal análise, foi realizado um estudo com os egressos do curso de Serviço Social do ano de 2008, do Uninorte – Laureate, que oferece desde 1998 o curso de Serviço Social. Gradativamente a demanda pelo curso foi crescendo e tornou-se, hoje, uma Instituição de Ensino Superior de referência na cidade de Manaus, lançando no mercado de trabalho um grande quantitativo de assistentes sociais. O estudo abordou essas questões, bem como buscou discutir, com base nos resultados obtidos na pesquisa de campo, alguns pontos como a percepção dos egressos no contexto da precariedade do mercado de trabalho e a contribuição do processo de formação para inserção do profissional no mercado de trabalho local.
This research is about the recent transformations in the world of the work and the insertion of the social worker in the job market of Manaus (State of Amazonas, Brazil). In particular, it studies the insertion of the social workers that were graduated at the Centro Universitário do Norte (Uninorte Laureate) in a job market changed by the process of accumulation of capital and productive restructuring. In Brazil, especially in the city of Manaus, the recent transformations in the job market affected different kinds of workers, including the social worker that also suffers with the precarization of working conditions. In this sense, this study points out a reflection about the changes in the world of the work and its impacts to the job market of the social worker in a context were there is a growing number of universities that provide higher education in social service and on the other hand there is a restriction of public spaces and of insertion possibilities in the job market. To such end, data were gathered with the social workers that were graduated at Uninorte Laureate on 2008. The Uninorte Laureate offers higher education in social service since 2008 and today is recognized as one of the most important universities in the city of Manaus. Utilizing the results of the field research this study also aimed to promote a discussion about the perceptions of these social workers about their professional formation process and their insertion in the local job market.

Cette thèse analyse les effets de la migration sur le comportement des membres des ménages d'origine à un moment où les drames de l'immigration clandestine continuent de faire la une de l'actualité mondiale. Alors que la plupart des travaux s'intéresse uniquement aux effets des migrations internationales, notre étude, appliquée au Mali, élargit l'analyse aux migrations internes qui sont de forte intensité dans ce pays. Pour ce faire, nous mobilisons les données de deux enquêtes originales d'envergure nationale. Le travail est organisé en quatre chapitres. Plus descriptif, le premier chapitre dresse un panorama des deux types de migration, présente les caractéristiques des migrants et évalue les montants des transferts et leur contribution aux conditions de vie des ménages récipiendaires. Les chapitres suivants mobilisent des techniques micro-économiques qui notamment permettent d'estimer les effets de la migration tout en contrôlant des problèmes d'endogénéité. Le chapitre II examine les effets des deux types de migration sur la scolarisation des enfants des ménages d'origine, notamment leur réussite scolaire. Dans le troisième chapitre, nous évaluons l'impact des migrations sur la productivité agricole. Nous testons l'hypothèse d'apparition d'un comportement opportuniste du fait de l'existence d'un contrat implicite entre les migrants et leurs exploitations d'origine. L'insertion sur le marché du travail des migrants de retour est abordée dans le chapitre IV. De façon générale, cette thèse met en évidence l'impact négatif des migrations, notamment sur le comportement des membres des ménages d'origine. Non seulement, elles font apparaître un comportement opportuniste marqué par un moindre effort de leur part tant à l'école (pour les enfants) que dans les activités agricoles. Enfin, l'expérience migratoire n'influence pas significativement les chances d'insertion sur le marché du travail
This thesis analyses the effects of migration on the behaviors of household of origins members, when newspapers' headlines focus on tragedies related to illegal immigration. Our thesis, applied to Mali, is an in-depth analysis of external and internal migrations both very important in this country, whereas most of the studies only focus on the impact of international migration. We use data from two national large-scale surveys which were fully conducted under our control. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is a descriptive analysis of the two types of migration and highlights the characteristics of migrants. It also evaluates the transfer amounts and their contribution to the living conditions of recipient households. The next chapters resort to micro-econometric techniques which allow us to estimate the effects of migration by controlling for endogeneity problems. The second chapter examines the effects of the two types of migration on schooling of children from households of origins, namely their schooling success. In the third chapter, we evaluate the impact of migrations on agricultural production. We test the hypothesis of an opportunistic behavior because of the existence of an implicit contract between migrants and members of the household of origin. Insertion of return migrants in the labour market is investigated in the fourth chapter. The thesis shows negative impacts of internal and foreign migrations, especially, on the behavior of original household members. Migrations reveal an opportunistic behavior marked by least effort at school (from children's side) and from agricultural workers. In addition, migration experience does not have significant influence on the insertion in the labour market

En dépit d’une double exclusion dans la société d’accueil à la fois de la part des politiques migratoires et du marché, les immigrés chinois réussissent généralement à sortir de l’ornière. Comment y parviennent-ils ?En s’appuyant sur l’accès au logement et au travail, deux domaines essentiels dans l’expérience migratoire, cette thèse tente de répondre à cette problématique en se focalisant sur les marchés ethniques. Non seulement les liens interpersonnels, mais aussi les liens communautaires basés principalement sur l’ethnicité, sont mobilisés comme ressources.Cette thèse entend d’abord mettre en lumière les marchés ethniques du logement et du travail, afin de mieux comprendre le mécanisme qui fait fonctionner cette économie ethnique. This thesis has as its main object of interest the forms of agency manifested in the everyday life of Chinese migrants in disadvantaged situations in France. This is studied through fieldwork conducted in two neighborhoods in Paris suburbs, which received a great number of arrivals “from the bottom”, who began their life as migrants through an undocumented period. Despite a double exclusion in the host society from migration policies and from the market, Chinese immigrants usually manage to pull themselves out. How did they achieve this?By investigating the access to housing and work, two essential domains in the migration experience, this thesis attempts to address this problem with a focus on ethnic markets. In those markets, both interpersonal relationships and community bonds based on ethnicity are mobilized as resources.This thesis aims first to bring to light ethnic markets in housing and work, in order to achieve a better understanding of the mechanisms that enable this ethnic economy to function. Both in scholarly and political perspectives, this thesis emphasizes three essential questions: the emic approach, in which the perspectives of migrants themselves are privileged, the tension between the importance of community resources in the everyday life of Chinese immigrants and their constraints, and finally the false dilemma between community and integration

Atualmente, nota-se o crescimento do número dos estágios para universitários, constituindo um elemento importante na complementação da sua formação. Esta estratégia tem sido utilizada em diferentes países para redução das dificuldades dos jovens em sua inserção profissional. Porém, os estudantes têm tido dificuldades para encontrar oportunidades de trabalho dada a situação econômica, da crise do sistema de contratação que leva à existência de trabalhos cada vez mais precarizados em todos os níveis da sociedade, sobretudo entre os jovens que almejam ingressar no mercado de trabalho atual. Assim, o objetivo desta tese é compreender quais as representações dos universitários sobre a experiência de estágio e suas implicações para sua inserção profissional no atual contexto socioeconômico brasileiro e francês. Adota-se uma postura construtivista, que explora na teoria como os conceitos foram construídos ao longo do tempo e busca-se uma vertente que permita sua compreensão como fenômeno que se constroi nas relações sociais. Para realização da pesquisa foram levantados documentos (artigos, manuais de orientação, leis e decretos) e entrevistados 32 estudantes franceses e 31 brasileiros, que foram analisados segundo a abordagem das práticas discursivas (SPINK, 2004). No Brasil, os estágios estão recebendo atenção central por parte do Estado, que em 2008 promulgou a nova lei de orientação dos mesmos, que indica o papel central das universidades e atribui aos estudantes alguns direitos similares aos dos trabalhadores. Na prática, a partir da análise das entrevistas, os estágios têm constituído um mercado que incorpora vários aspectos similares aos do mercado de trabalho, como os modos de seleção, requisitos demandados, tarefas realizadas e responsabilidades assumidas pelos estagiários, bem como uma série de disfunções que acabam dando ao mesmo um caráter de trabalho precário. Em meio a tais condições, as representações que emergem mostram os estágios mais próximos de uma relação de trabalho do que das de ensino. Dada a diversidade de caminhos que se constroem a partir da experiência de estágio, os estudantes estabelecem trajetórias de inserção (emprego formal, desenvolvimento acelerado, empreendedorismo, função pública e carreira acadêmica) que esperam percorrer. Na França, embora também pesem as mudanças no mercado de trabalho, a atuação próxima das instituições de ensino assegura, pelo menos em parte, o caráter de formação dos estágios. O mercado de estágios francês é regulado pela instituição à qual o aluno está vinculado, que pode ou não ter um acompanhamento próximo. As organizações, embora tenham ampliado as exigências de competências, sobretudo, técnicas e comportamentais, por vezes ligadas a uma experiência anterior, têm tratado, predominantemente, os estágios como um período de formação. Nesse cenário as representações que surgem estão vinculadas à idéia de inserção profissional e o risco da precariedade que há neste percurso. Entre as expectativas de inserção destaca-se para a maioria o caminho do emprego formal e, para alguns, a busca por um cargo elevado de chefia.
Currently, there is noticeable growth in the number of internships for university students, which constitute an important complement to their education. This strategy has been used in various countries as means of reducing the difficulties encountered by young people attempting to enter the job market. However, students have experienced difficulty finding job opportunities given the economic situation and the crisis within the contraction system that has led to the existence of ever more precarious jobs at all levels of society, above all among young people that aim to enter the current labor market. Therefore, the objective of this thesis is to understand the representations of university students regarding the internship experience and their implications for their entry into professional life within the current socio-economic context in Brazil and France. For this purpose a constructivist approach is taken in order to explore the theory to show how the concepts have been formed over time while a path is sought that allows it to be understood as a phenomenon that is constructed within social relations. For the purpose of the research, a documentary search was carried out (articles, guide books, laws and decrees) and 32 French and 31 Brazilian students were interviewed, which were analyzed using discursive practices (SPINK, 2004). In Brazil, the interns are receiving central attention from the State, which, in 2008, approved a new law for their guidance, which recommends the central role of the universities and attributes to students rights similar to those held by workers. In practice, analysis of the interviews shows that interns represent a market which incorporates several aspects similar to those of the labor market, such as the selection methods, requested requirements, tasks performed and responsibilities assumed by the interns, as well as a series of dysfunctions that give it a precarious character. Amidst these conditions, the representations that emerge show the interns to be closer to a relationship of labor than to one of teaching. Given the variety of paths built based on the internship experience, the students establish insertion routes (formal employment, accelerated development, entrepreneurship, public employment and academic career) that they hope to follow. In France, while there have also been changes to the labor market, the teaching institutions act to ensure, at least in part, the educational character of the internships. The French internship market is regulated by the institution to which the student is linked, which may or may not closely accompany the situation. The organizations, though they have extended the demands for, above all, technical and behavioral competences, at times linked to prior experience, have for the most part, treated internship as an educational period. Within this scenario the representations that emerge are linked to the idea of professional insertion and the risk of precariousness associated with this route. Of the career expectations, for the majority formal employment route stands out while for some it is the search for a high management position.

Nas duas últimas décadas, a sociedade vivenciou importantes transformações econômicas e sociais. A expansão e diversificação do ensino superior trouxeram ganhos para a população e também, como qualquer outro fenômeno, consequências não esperadas. Associado a isso, tem-se um mercado de trabalho cada vez mais dinâmico e que passou por momentos de pleno emprego e crise. Diante deste contexto, objetivou-se analisar os elementos que interferem na inserção profissional dos egressos da Universidade Estadual do Rio Grande do Sul. Para subsidiar a discussão teórica foram abordados três grandes temas: ensino superior, mercado de trabalho e inserção profissional, além de dados históricos e estatísticos. Considerando o problema e o objetivo deste estudo, optou-se por uma pesquisa dividida em duas etapas: uma exploratória e outra descritiva quantitativa. A etapa exploratória teve como objetivo conhecer o histórico da Uergs e sistematizar dados dos ingressantes, matriculados e egressos, desde o início de suas atividades, em 2002 até 2017. Os resultados mostraram que a Uergs foi diversas vezes afetada por elementos sócio-históricos e institucionais que influenciaram o ingresso e permanência dos alunos. Na segunda etapa, a amostra foi composta por 456 egressos com o cuidado para que representassem as três modalidades de curso (bacharelado, licenciatura e superior de tecnologia), as três áreas (humanas, exatas e engenharias e vida e meio ambiente) e as cinco mesorregiões do Rio Grande do Sul onde a Uergs está inserida. Em linhas gerais, a inserção dos egressos é qualificante (CORDEIRO, 2002) e existe uma mobilidade intergeracional educacional e ocupacional ascendente entre pais e filhos. Porém, fica claro neste trabalho que o tipo de diploma (modalidade, área e mesorregião) influência no retorno financeiro e social no mercado de trabalho. Os egressos da modalidade bacharelado, da área das exatas e engenharias e da mesorregião metropolitana de Porto Alegre são os que se concentram nas maiores faixas salariais. A modalidade que mais percebe o rebaixamento social e econômico é dos tecnólogos. O ensino superior se torna cada vez mais necessário, mas ter o diploma não dá garantias. Os indivíduos são influenciados o tempo todo, mesmo que não percebam, por elementos como origem familiar, sexo, contexto econômico, desigualdades regionais, etc. e sobre os quais não tem nenhum controle. A meritocracia é apenas uma variável no meio deste grande contexto permeado por elementos muitas vezes invisíveis.
In the last two decades, society has undergone important economic and social transformations. The expansion and diversification of higher education brought gains for the population and, like any other phenomenon, had unintended consequences. Associated with this, the labor market is increasingly dynamic and had moments of full employment and crisis. In this context, the objective was to analyze the elements that interfere in the professional insertion of college graduate students of the State University of Rio Grande do Sul. In order to subsidize the theoretical discussion, three major themes were approached: higher education, labor market and professional insertion, as well as historical and statistical data. Considering the problem and the objective of this study, the research was divided into two stages: one exploratory and the other one quantitative descriptive. The exploratory phase aimed at Uergs' history and systematizing data on enrollment of new students, registered ones and leavers, from the beginning of their activities, from 2002 to 2017. The results showed that Uergs was affected several times by socio-historical and institutional elements that influenced the students' enrollment and staying at University. In the second stage, the sample consisted of 456 college graduate students representing the three modalities of courses (bachelor, licentiate and higher technology), the three main areas of knowledge (Humanities, Math and Engineering and Life and Environment) and the five mesoregions of Rio Grande do Sul where Uergs is inserted. In general terms, the insertion of the college graduate students is qualified (CORDEIRO, 2002) and there is an intergenerational educational and occupational mobility ascending between parents and children. However, it is clear in this paper that the kind of diploma (modality, area of knowledge and mesoregion) influences the financial and social return in the labor market. The college graduate students of bachelor´s modality of the area of Math and Engineering from the metropolitan mesoregion of Porto Alegre are the ones concentrated in the higher salary ranges. The modality that most perceives social and economic downgrading is the technologists. Higher education becomes more and more necessary, but having a diploma does not guarantee anything. Individuals are influenced all the time, even if they do not realize it, by elements such as family origin, gender, economic context, regional inequalities, etc. and over which they have no control. Meritocracy is only one variable in the midst of this great context permeated by often invisible elements.

La créativité, en tant que méta-compétence déployée dans divers domaines d’action, a suscité des travaux dans diverses disciplines des sciences sociales. Peu étudiée par les sciences de l’éducation, elle apparaît pourtant comme un capital aux ressorts particulièrement intéressants pour les trajectoires éducatives. Si le système éducatif français l’a tenue à l’écart de son curriculum, il s’interroge aujourd’hui sur l’intérêt de développer chez les jeunes les ressources nécessaires à ce mode d’action. En s’appuyant sur des données empiriques collectées auprès de 1551 jeunes ayant terminé leur formation initiale depuis moins de 10 ans, la thèse interroge, dans le contexte de faible prise en compte de la créativité par les institutions scolaires, trois points principaux : la répartition individuelle et sociale du potentiel créatif et de sa mobilisation, les effets associés à ce potentiel sur l’accès à l’emploi la qualité de l’emploi, ainsi que son mode de développement. Il ressort de l’ensemble des analyses des résultats à trois niveaux. Le potentiel créatif présente une forte dispersion interindividuelle mais il n’est pas déterminé par l’origine sociale. Ce potentiel créatif n’influe pas sur l’accès à l’emploi mais il accroît l’instabilité du parcours, diminue la probabilité d’occuper un emploi à durée indéterminée et favorise la satisfaction des besoins fondamentaux en contexte professionnel, étroitement liée au bien- être. Peu développé dans le contexte scolaire, son actualisation est avant tout favorisée par les activités extrascolaires et l’environnement professionnel. L’École semble permettre une certaine exposition au développement de la créativité, qui apparaît néanmoins socialement différenciée. En outre, les occasions données par le système éducatif de développer sa créativité dépendent des caractéristiques du parcours, et en particulier du statut des établissements fréquentés
Creativity, as a meta-competence mobilized in various fields of action, has sparked work in various social science disciplines. If it received few interest in educational sciences, it nevertheless appears as a particularly interesting capital for whom study the educational trajectories. If the French education system has kept creativity out of his curriculum, he is now wondering about the value of developing the necessary resources for young people to exercise this mode of action. Based on an empirical survey involving 1551 young people who had completed their initial training for less than 10 years, in the context of the low take-up of creativity by educational institutions, this work rises questions about three main points: the shape of the distribution of the creative potential and achievements, the effects associated with this potential on the access to employment, the quality of employment and its mode of development. We emphazised results at three levels. The creative potential presents a strong inter- individual dispersion but is not determined by the social class. This creative potential does not affect access to employment, but it increases path instability, reduces the likelihood of a permanent contract, and promotes the satisfaction of basic needs in a professional context closely related to well-being. Little developed in the school context, creative potential is stimulated above all by the extracurricular activities and the professional environment. The educational activities seem to allow some exposure to the development of creativity, which nevertheless seems to be socially differentiated. Moreover, the opportunities given by the educational system to develop its creativity depend on the characteristics of the educational track, and in particular on the status of the attended schools

Cette thèse se concentre sur les transitions école-emploi et les politiques du marché du travail qui y sont liées, en particulier pour les jeunes en difficulté. Basée sur des expériences de terrain menées en France en 2018 et 2019, elle comprend trois chapitres qui ajoutent de nouvelles preuves empiriques à la littérature économique.Le premier chapitre apporte de nouveaux éléments sur la forte insertion professionnelle des apprentis. Il montre que le succès de l'apprentissage ne repose pas, dans le contexte français, sur un meilleur accès à l'emploi de ceux qui ne restent pas dans leur entreprise de formation. L'expansion de l'apprentissage a donc des effets très limités sur le chômage des jeunes si elle ne s'accompagne pas d'une augmentation de la rétention en entreprise de formation.Le deuxième chapitre contribue à mieux comprendre les préférences des employeurs concernant des profils de jeunes décrocheurs scolaires. Il montre que les décrocheurs qui sont restés inactifs pendant plus de deux ans ont beaucoup moins de chances d'être rappelés pour un emploi que les diplômés du secondaire. L'emploi subventionné et la formation professionnelle augmentent les chances des décrocheurs, mais leurs chances restent encore faibles. Seule la combinaison de ces deux politiques permet aux jeunes décrocheurs de rattraper ceux qui n'ont pas abandonné l'école, réduisant les signaux négatifs associés au décrochage scolaire et à la durée d'inactivité.Le troisième chapitre présente une expérience de terrain visant à analyser l'efficacité de SMS envoyés pour diriger des jeunes ni en emploi, ni en formation, vers des structures publiques d'aide. Tous les SMS ont été individualisés et comprenaient des informations spécifiques sur ces structures. Les résultats indiquent que les textes n'ont pas eu d'effet significatif sur la probabilité de s'adresser à ces structures. Ces résultats montrent que l'envoi de SMS à cette population n'est pas une stratégie efficace pour la diriger plus facilement vers une solution d'aide publique.L'argument principal de cette thèse est donc de combler les écarts entre les écoles et les entreprises, afin qu'une proportion significative de jeunes puisse éviter une situation de non-emploi comme première expérience sur le marché du travail
This thesis focuses on school-to-work transitions and related labor market policies designed to smooth these transitions, especially for young people in difficulty. Based on field experiments carried out in France in 2018 and 2019, it comprises three chapters that add new empirical evidence to the economic literature.The first chapter brings new evidence on the higher employment rate of apprentices than vocational students after graduation. It shows that the success of apprenticeship does not rely, in the French context, on better job access to those who do not remain in their training firms. The expansion of apprenticeship thus has very limited effects on youth unemployment if this is not accompanied by an increase in the retention of apprentices in their training firm.The second chapter contributes to the understanding of employers’ preferences regarding young school dropout applicants. It shows that school dropouts who have remained inactive over two years have a significantly smaller chance of being called back for a job compared to non-dropout high school graduates. Subsidized employment and vocational training boost dropouts’ chances, but their chances remain still lower. Only the combination of the two policies lets young dropouts to catch up with their non-dropout peers. Manipulation of the profiles indicates that both dropping out of school and inactivity duration entails negative signals for the employers.The third chapter presents a field experiment designed to analyze the effectiveness of text messaging by public assistance agencies seeking to enroll young people who are not in employment, education, or training (NEET). All texts were individualized and included specific information about the agencies. Results indicate that the texts had no significant effect on the probability of going to those agencies. These findings show that sending texts to this population is not an effective strategy for enrolling it more easily.The main argument of the thesis thus advocates closing gaps between schools and firms, so that a significant proportion of young people may avoid a non-employment situation as their first experience in the labor market

Abstract The chapter sets out to answer a question that has long been on the mind of policy-makers, university leaders, scholars and students: does international student credit mobility have a positive impact on graduate employability? Traditionally, this question has been answered using survey data where internationally mobile students self-report their employment situation at a certain point after graduation. According to these studies, international student mobility positively affects the labour market outcomes of students. For instance, the European Commission reports that: (1) students who completed an Erasmus mobility program are half as likely to face long-term unemployment; (2) the unemployment rate of Erasmus students is 23% lower five years after graduation (European Commission 2014). While these studies provide important insights about the benefits associated with the cross-border credit mobility of students, the results can be plagued by self-selection bias in reporting post-mobility employment outcomes. In order to avoid the problems associated with survey data, in this chapter we offer an analysis based on register data from university records and employment records, using as a case study the West University of Timisoara, a leading comprehensive university in Romania. Using register data offers the possibility to study population-level data and compare the employment outcomes of mobile and non-mobile students. The chapter analyses the impact of credit mobility on insertion in the labour market, income levels and occupational prestige. While the research question that the chapter is trying to answer is important, the main message of the chapter is broader: ministries and higher education institutions should release data for research purposes. Register data is readily available and helps researchers make efficient use of resources. In turn, this can encourage evidence-based policymaking.

This work aims tomake a diagnosis about the presence of women in higher educationcourses and in the IT labor market in the state of Pará. The mainsources of data used were the governmental public databases ofthe General Register of Employees and Unemployed (CAGED),the Census of Higher Education, made available (INEP) and theNational Household Survey (PNAD). The analyzed data indicatedthat in the state of Pará, we have the male predominance on thesector either on the superior courses as on the work market andwage inequalities. Despite the increase in the entry of women inacademic-scientific careers, in the IT labor market.

The increase in longevity and the gradual and accelerated aging of the world population are trends that highlight the needto pay attention to the peculiarities inherent to elderly citizens. The return or permanence of the elderly in the labor market often conditions them to a marginal job position, that is, retired still active or self-employed, since when the elderly is absorbed by the formal market, it is common that he accepts reduced wages and no work records, a fact that justifies the option of many elderly workers to work on their own in informality. On the other hand, the best opportunities to keep a job after retirement or re-entering the labor market belong to the more qualified elderly, with a higher level of education and, above all, to those who do not have manual labor activities. Thus, the objective of this research is to analyze the dynamics of performance of the elderly in the formal labor market, from the perspective of the level of education. Therefore, the methodological procedures used in the research will be of a qualitative and quantitative approach, from the point of view of the objectives, it is presented as an exploratory and descriptive research, as technical procedures it is presented as bibliographical, from the data collection of the Continuous PNAD, in the period between 2012 and 2020. This study hopes to understand the different aspects of the elderly in the Brazilian labor market, in addition to raising theoretical data that may allow the formulation of public policy proposals and the participation of public and private initiatives in projects for the insertion of the elderly into the labor market

Knowledge combined with innovation has been shown to be a driving factor for the growth and development of sustainable economic markets and, given the reality of the current scenario in Brazil in relation to social, political and economic aspects, see the high rate of unemployment and informal workers that they need emergency governmental support to survive, the importance of cooperative union between academic centers, scientific society, government and private initiative to induce public and institutional policy strategies that cause scientific, technological and social advances, transforming the knowledge in market innovations that generate jobs and income for social actors. In this scenario, stricto sensu postgraduate courses, especially doctorates, have contributed to the advancement of Innovation, Science and Technology, considered to be driversof economic and social change. Thus, assuming that all theses created in university centers precede an intellectual innovation, this research aims to highlight the reasons that lead to low entrepreneurial applicability among doctoral and doctoral student research. The hypothesis raised is that the lack of disciplines interconnected to entrepreneurship in graduate studies creates an imprisonment of Brazilian scientists' ideas in the academic field without other ramifications. The methodological procedures used will be of a qualitative quantitative approach, with regard to the objectives, the research is presented as descriptive and exploratory, having as a procedure bibliographic studies and the creation and application of a questionnaire for doctors and doctoral students in the city of Campos dos Goytacazes-RJ. As a result of this research, I hoped to understand the reasons that lead to the low applicability and insertion of academic ideas in local entrepreneurship and the statistical survey of alternatives for interconnection between researchers and the market.
