Testo completoObjective: To study mother‘s sense of coherence (SOC), the mother‘s coherence with a baby and influence of these factors to the duration of breastfeeding. Tasks: 1. To evaluate sense of coherence of the mothers; 2. To analyze the mother‘s coherence with a baby; 3. To evaluate relations between mother‘s sense of coherence and mother‘s coherence with a baby. 4. To assess the influence mother‘s sense of coherence and mother‘s baby coherence to the duration of breastfeeding. Methods of the study: Object of the research – mothers after their delivery and after six months. Method of the research – anonymous questionnaire survey. The research consisted of two stages. The first research was performed in the first week after the mother gave a birth to her baby, the second one – the same mothers 6 months after the baby was born. For the research, the mothers giving birth in Kaunas Medical University Hospital, Pr. Mazylis and Christian maternity home were chosen. In the first research, 493 mothers were surveyed. In the second research, 141 mothers were surveyed one more time. The response rate was 35.6%. Results: According to the data of the research, the average sum of points of the ranges of the SOC and the total SOC was higher of the mothers who had planned a baby than of these ones who had not planned a baby (p<0.001). The education influenced the ranges of comprehensibility of the SOC (p=0.006), the ranges of manageability (p=0.038) and the total scale of SOC (p=0.005). The... [to full text]

There are special hospitals, there doctors pay a greater attention to breasting in the begining of baby life. They try to provide parents with a lot of information about breasting. The first contact between baby and his mother and the duration of breasting is so important for future child and mother relationship. Baby calms down, relaxes in this contact with mother. Breasting gives a lot of benefits for child and his mother. During the breasting period child recieves all the good bacterium from his mother‘s milk. Testo completoThe randomized control trial examined the effects of a short-term, interaction focused and attachment-based video-feedback intervention (VIPP, Juffer, Bakermans-Kranenburg, & Van IJzendoorn, 2008) on mothers’ sensitive responsiveness and infant-mother attachment security in a sample (N = 54) of low sensitive, non-clinical, middle class Lithuanian mothers. Maternal sensitivity was assessed in a free play session with the Ainsworth sensitivity scale, and attachment security was observed using the Attachment Q sort for home observations. The long-term intervention effect on children behavior problems was assessed with CBCL. We found that the intervention mothers indeed significantly improved their sensitive responsiveness through participation in the intervention. VIPP enhanced maternal sensitive responsiveness even when maternal age, educational level, daily hassles, efficacy, infant gender, and infant negative and positive affect were controlled for. However, attachment security in the intervention group infants was not enhanced after the intervention, compared to the control infants, and the infants did not seem to differential susceptible to the increase in maternal sensitivity. Experimental, control groups children and sensitive mothers’ children experienced the same level of behavior problems at two years. Factors associated with maternal sensitivity and children behavior problems were analyzed.

Testo completo„Mothers' Sensitivity Correction Analysis in the Context of Infants' Attachment“ SUMMARY Maternal sensitivity correction is fairly novel and unexplored field, especially in Lithuania, therefore the aim of this study is to explore mother-infant interaction characteristics after participation in sensitivity correction programme, to highlight important questions and problems, to predict possible directions for future investigations. Also it is sought to analyze maternal sensitivity changes after the correction programme. The problem of this study is a question – can maternal sensitivity be a prognostic indicator of a child attachment security. This study is also ment to describe the peculiarities of maternal sensitivity, expresiveness of depression syptomes, estimation of daily hassles and to compare their child attachment security according to their participation in intervention programme. 35 mother-infant dyads participated in this study. Part of them, that is 11 sensitive mothers constituted one control group; others – 24 that were rated as inconsistently sensitive or insensitive to their infants‘ signals, formed two other – experimental and control groups. 10 of them participated in a short-term sensitivity correction programme with video feedback, while others (14) didn‘t. The changes in maternal sensitivity (Ainsworth Maternal Sensitivity Scale) to the infants‘ signals, as well as mothers‘ perceived daily hassles (Daily Hassles Questionaire) and depressiveness (according...
