This paper mainly discusses the localization of landscape design in Cambodia, confirms the theory of localized landscape design, and explores the development direction of Cambodian modern landscape design, hoping to provide corresponding references for researchers in the industry.

Abstract (sommario):

Kauffman picture of normal and tumor states as attractors in an abstract state space is used in order to interpret gene expression data for 15 cancer localizations obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas. A principal component analysis of this data unveils the following qualitative aspects about tumors: 1) The state of a tissue in gene expression space can be described by a few variables. In particular, there is a single variable describing the progression from a normal tissue to a tumor. 2) Each cancer localization is characterized by a gene expression profile, in which genes have specific weights in the definition of the cancer state. There are no less than 2500 differentially-expressed genes, which lead to power-like tails in the expression distribution functions. 3) Tumors in different localizations share hundreds or even thousands of differentially expressed genes. There are 6 genes common to the 15 studied tumor localizations. 4) The tumor region is a kind of attractor. Tumors in advanced stages converge to this region independently of patient age or genetic characteristics. 5) There is a landscape of cancer in gene expression space with an approximate border separating normal tissues from tumors.

The current research presented the value of the lowest state energy for (GaMn)As/GaAs Quantum Well by using the Schrodinger equation and the localization landscape method, and a comparison between the quantum confinement potential and the wavefunction localization of both the landscape method and the Schrödinger method, a great match was found between the two methods, where the Landscape method 0.1% greater than Schrodinger method. From the Hamiltonian function analysis, it was found that the quantum eigenvalues in the discrete wells interact only when the corresponding eigenvalues are close to each other. Localization appears clearly in the sub-regions of quantum well, so, we prove damping in quantum wells, especially near the boundaries of the well. The effective quantum potential W was determined.

Abstract (sommario):

The article is focused on studies of domestic and foreign scientists concerning the aesthetic properties of landscapes. Different methodological approaches of analysis and description of the visual quality of landscapes are presented. The world experience in the application of methods to assess the landscape attractiveness of territories when arranging of recreational zones was studied. The analysis of different types of landscapes, their aesthetic advantages and disadvantages, as well as characteristics from the point of view of the arrangements of recreational areas was carried out. The relation between natural features of the area, its aesthetic parameters and the demand degree among vacationers was revealed. The features of the natural framework of the Belgorod region were determined; characteristic of regional landscape features, affecting the emotional perception of landscapes (chalk outcrops, wetlands of riverine lands, etc.) were identified. The assessment of the aesthetic attractiveness of landscapes is carried out using the territories of the Valuysky municipal district as an example. The localization of the areas with the greatest aesthetic attractiveness was determined and the promising territories for the development of recreational zones were identified. The compositional structure of the gully-like landscape was analyzed as one of the characteristic features for this region as a whole. Recommendations on the application of the assessment method for aesthetic of landscape attractiveness, taking into account regional characteristics the Belgorod region as an example were proposed.

Abstract (sommario):

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyze the tourist landscape as represented in Turisme de Barcelona’s YouTube tourism promotional videos, looking at the landscape’s tangible locations, symbolic and tourist assets and the protagonists in an effort to interpret its storytelling in an overtourism context. Design/methodology/approach The mixed methodology is based on a visual content analysis of promotional videos posted on the official Barcelona tourism YouTube channel. Quantitative data analysis about the assets and their localization was completed with a qualitative assessment of the way these assets are displayed to unveil the narrative they convey. Findings The results highlight that Barcelona’s projected image is mainly based on tangible heritage (especially monuments), its recognizable cityscape and its eno-gastronomic assets. This rather conventional image is geographically concentrated on the neighborhoods perceived as tourist neighborhoods. Practical implications This analysis provides a critical reflection of the actual strategy of destination management organizations and the storytelling they transmit. The findings can help to orientate their future actions and provide a method of analysis that can be repeated for other destinations. Originality/value This paper sheds new light on the use of urban landscapes in nonstatic images both as a narrative subject and as a tangible tourist space in promotional discourse.

Formulation of the problem. Nowadays in Ukraine there is a significant gap in the application of cultural-landscape approach and the lack of cultural and landscape zoning (CLZ) at different taxonomic levels, as one of the fundamental stages in the protection and preservation of cultural and natural heritage, which is recognized in a number of international documents by the world community. The purpose of the article. The purpose of this study is to develop methodological approaches to CLZ in Ukraine. Analysis of recent research and publications. The study and analysis of the experience of differentiation and zoning of different level territories on the basis of cultural and landscape approach in some European countries showed the crucial role of CLZ in studying cultural landscapes and planning management actions for their protection, conservation and use. Methodology and results. The overall purpose of CLZ was to identify, define and differentiate integral natural and cultural systemic territorial formations of different levels, which form a set of interconnected cultural landscapes in a given area. The main factors of cultural-landscape differentiation of Ukraine at the macro level were natural-geographical, ethnographic, linguistic, historical-geographical, historical-political and administrative-territorial features and features of spatial localization and concentration of natural and cultural heritage - immovable and intangible. The information base for conducting the CLZ were researches that reflects the territorial differentiation of Ukraine by these groups of features and has developed appropriate zoning schemes with their cartographic implementation. The taxonomic system of the country's CLZ has been developed. It consists of two levels: 14 cultural-landscape regions and 52 cultural-landscape macro-districts; 26 cultural and landscape regions have been identified as a separate taxon, outside of the hierarchy, according to the administrative-territorial division of the country. The most important result of the study – the map "Cultural-landscape zoning of Ukraine", became one of the key topics of the electronic atlas "Population of Ukraine and its natural and cultural heritage". The development of the atlas was completed in 2020 by the Institute of Geography of NASU. Scientific novelty and practical significance. For the first time in Ukraine, CLZ has been developed at the macro level, thus starting to fill a gap of the absence of domestic developments of this kind. The study identified proposals on the main directions of development and practical application of CLZ in the field of protection and preservation of cultural and natural heritage through inclusion in the systems of national and regional strategy, spatial development planning, research on integrated study of territory, mapping and development of CLZ regions and administrative districts, etc.

China has over 271 million villages and less than the number in ten years ago in which there are 363 million villages. New rural construction indeed do some good for common villages but still destroy hundreds and thousands traditional village which contain great cultural, science, artistic values. In addition, traditional villages can't meet the increasing needs in more convenient and comfortable living conditions. Increasing population also makes traditional villages out of control in construction. With the background of this, we have to set up in traditional village protection. This article put forward an idea in protection which make use of landscape localization to pursue the sustainable development and vernacular landscape protection. Tangyin Town is a famous trade center in history and left many cultural heritage, especially historical buildings. Take Tangyin as a case study to apply the localization method which could guide other similar villages to achieve same goals.

We address the problem of crowd localization, i.e., the prediction of dots corresponding to people in a crowded scene. Due to various challenges, a localization method is prone to spatial semantic errors, i.e., predicting multiple dots within a same person or collapsing multiple dots in a cluttered region. We propose a topological approach targeting these semantic errors. We introduce a topological constraint that teaches the model to reason about the spatial arrangement of dots. To enforce this constraint, we define a persistence loss based on the theory of persistent homology. The loss compares the topographic landscape of the likelihood map and the topology of the ground truth. Topological reasoning improves the quality of the localization algorithm especially near cluttered regions. On multiple public benchmarks, our method outperforms previous localization methods. Additionally, we demonstrate the potential of our method in improving the performance in the crowd counting task.

Motivated by the tremendous progress, we witnessed in recent years, this paper presents a survey of the scientific literature on the topic of Collaborative Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (C-SLAM), also known as multi-robot SLAM. With fleets of self-driving cars on the horizon and the rise of multi-robot systems in industrial applications, we believe that Collaborative SLAM will soon become a cornerstone of future robotic applications. In this survey, we introduce the basic concepts of C-SLAM and present a thorough literature review. We also outline the major challenges and limitations of C-SLAM in terms of robustness, communication, and resource management. We conclude by exploring the area’s current trends and promising research avenues.

Histone modifications, as key chromatin regulators, play a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of several diseases, such as cancer. Acetylation, and more specifically lysine acetylation, is a reversible epigenetic process with a fundamental role in cell life, able to target histone and non-histone proteins. This epigenetic modification regulates transcriptional processes and protein activity, stability, and localization. Several studies highlight a specific role for HAT1 in regulating molecular pathways, which are altered in several pathologies, among which is cancer. HAT1 is the first histone acetyltransferase discovered; however, to date, its biological characterization is still unclear. In this review, we summarize and update the current knowledge about the biological function of this acetyltransferase, highlighting recent advances of HAT1 in the pathogenesis of cancer.

As many software applications have moved from a desktop software deployment model to a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model so we have seen tool vendors in the language service industry move to a SaaS model, e.g., for web-based Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) tools. However, many of these offerings fail to take full advantage of the Open Web Platform, i.e., the rich set of web browser-based APIs linked to HTML5. We examine the interoperability landscape that developers of web-based translation tools can benefit from, and in particular the potential offered by the open metadata defined in the W3C’s (World Wide Web Consortium) recent Internationalization Tag Set v2.0 Recommendation. We examine how this can be used in conjunction with the XML Localisation Interchange File Format (XLIFF) standardized by OASIS to exchange translation jobs between servers and Javascript-based CAT tools running in the web browser. We also explore how such open metadata can support activities in the multilingual web processing chain before and after translation.

The integration of information sources is a fundamental step to advance research and knowledge about the ancient mining landscape of Schwaz/Brixlegg in the Tyrol / Austria. The approach is applied for the localization, identification and interpretation of mining structures within the area. We want to show the use of the CIDOC CRM ontology with extensions in combination with a thesaurus to integrate data on a conceptual level. To implement this integration, we applied semantic web technologies to create a knowledge graph in RDF (Resource Description Framework) that currently represents the available information of seven different information sources in a network structure. More sources will be integrated using the same methodology. These are geochemical analysis of artefacts, onomastic research on names related to mining and archaeological information of other mining areas to research the spread of prehistoric mining activities and technologies.The RDF network can be queried for research, cultural or emergency response questions and the results can be displayed using Geoinformation systems. An exemplary archaeological research question is the location of mining, settlement and burial sites in the Bronze Age, differentiating between ore extraction, ore processing and smelting activities. For emergency forces the names and exact locations of mines are essential in case of an accident within an old mine. Different questions require a subset of the created knowledge graph. The results of queries to retrieve specific information can be visualised using appropriate tools.

The main purpose of the article is to identify the features of landscape and urban of oil and gas companies in the Western region of Ukraine. Twenty-two enterprises which are located in IvanoFrankivsk, Lviv and Ternopil regions were analyzed. The analysis includes: localization of objects and their grouping by functional types taking into account the territorial and historical context; formation of methodical tools, determination of criteria for assessment of landscape and urban properties; the obtained research results are summarized according to the defined evaluation criteria. It is an attempt to find new approaches to the reorganization of facilities, taking into account their condition and functioning.

For many years, their activities were considered redundant due to their high degree of sequence homology (80% identity) and their shared upstream and downstream protein partners. However, the high conservation of the Hyper-Variable-Region across mammalian species, the preferential activation of different RAS proteins in specific tumor types and the specific post-translational modifications and plasma membrane-localization of each paralog suggest they could ensure discrete functions. To gain insights into RAS proteins specificities, we explored their proximal protein–protein interaction landscapes using the proximity-dependent biotin identification technology (BioID) in Flp-In T-REx 293 cell lines stably transfected and inducibly expressing wild type KRAS4B, NRAS or HRAS. We identified more than 800 high-confidence proximal interactors, allowing us to propose an unprecedented comparative analysis of wild type RAS paralogs protein networks. These data bring novel information on poorly characterized RAS functions, e.g., its putative involvement in metabolic pathways, and on shared as well as paralog-specific protein networks that could partially explain the complexity of RAS functions. These networks of protein interactions open numerous avenues to better understand RAS paralogs biological activities.

Objectives: Cigarettes are not goods that have existed in China since ancient times, but consumer goods that were introduced into China by western countries and accepted and developed by Chinese people in modern times. The application of Chinese soil smoke culture in Li gonglin’s landscape painting is studied in this paper. Methods: From the perspective of art history, landscape painters in the Northern Song Dynasty, as a prosperous period of Chinese art history landscape painting, thought deeply about painting from the artistic form of nature, and integrated their own view of environment into their creation, forming many landscape aesthetic paradigms. Results: This paper focuses on the interactive dialogue between the literati and the environment with the involvement of how space planning and governance are allocated. It is aimed at the global perspective in the Anthropocene and a local position in the Northern Song Dynasty. Localization is not only the exploration of the ecological approaches of China and the West in space, but also the integration of the past and the present, observing its ecological image from the perception and practice of traditional environmental aesthetics to the harmonious coexistence of modern cities and nature. Conclusion: Local tobacco is not a traditional local consumer product. Under the public’s praise, it has gradually formed a unique thing in China - cigarette culture. People in the society are not only the observers of the environment, but also the participants of the environment. Through the aesthetic configuration of the classification of environmental belonging space and the transformation of the image and vision into such realistic or ideal landscapes as “Longmian Villa”, it goes towards ecological holism. Therefore, from the perspective of environmental aesthetics research, Li Gonglin’s paintings have research value.

In times of turbulence for international trade, some issues stand out as ‘cutting-edge’. Trade in data, and data-related services are a part of those ‘frontier’ conversations. To this end, a peculiar kind of measure has emerged since 2013: data-localization requirements (DLRs) mandate that only domestic service suppliers can process data of the citizens of a particular country. Several prominent players in the trading landscape, including the United States and China, have imposed such measures. Similar legislation has been enacted by the Russian Federation (RF), which is analysed herein. Before assessing measures imposed by the RF, the authors set out the landscape of the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS), particularly the obligations relating to Market Access under Article XVI. Drawing heavily on WTO jurisprudence, the authors demonstrate that the RF measures in question fall within the scope of the GATS and violate the RF’s obligations under Article XVI; and further, that such violation cannot be justified under ArticlesXIV or XIVbis. To this end, the authors contribute to the existing literature on a subject which is becoming exponentially significant as time moves on. We propose a robust method for registering high oblique images of landscapes. Typically, an input image can be registered by matching it against a set of registered images of the same location. While this has been shown to work very well for images of popular urban landmarks, registering landscape images remains a very challenging task: For a given place, only a very small amount of registered images is generally already available on photo-sharing platforms. Moreover, the appearance of landscapes can vary drastically depending on the season and the weather conditions. For these two reasons, matching the input images with registered images in a reliable way remains a challenging task. Our contribution is two-fold: first, we show how to estimate the camera orientation for images with GPS data using a novel algorithm for horizon matching based on Dynamic Time Warping. The proposed algorithm exploits an elevation model. Each image is processed independently from the others, there is therefore no need neither for image matching or for a large set of images. This step provides a set of reliable, fully registered images. Second, and in odrer to register new images with no GPS data available, we first ask the user to provide an approximate image localization on a 2D map. Then, we exploit this prior on the camera location to efficiently and robustly constrain and guide the matching process used to register the query image. We apply our method to a case study from the Zermatt area in Southern Switzerland, and show that the method provides registrations, which are accurate enough to map each pixel to an aerial map.

This piece briefly examines the immediate implications of employment nationalization on the performance of universities, the production of research output, and most importantly the education of students in Saudi institutions. It suggests some modifications in the implementation of Saudization in the higher education landscape of the country.

Abstract Vα14i invariant Natural Killer T (iNKT) cells are important modulators of immune responses. They differentiate into three effector cell subsets in the thymus, NKT1, NKT2, and NKT17, which resemble Th1, Th2, and Th17 CD4 T cells. After exiting the thymus, iNKT cells localize to tissues and do not recirculate, but the impact of tissue localization on the epigenetic landscape and transcriptome of each subset is not known. We assessed global chromatin accessibility and transcriptional activity using ATACseq and RNAseq in iNKT cell subsets isolated from the thymus, spleen, liver, and lung. By comparing iNKT cell subsets within each tissue, we found over 5,000 differentially accessible regions of chromatin. This is consistent with previous analyses showing great differences in the transcriptomes of the thymic iNKT cell subsets. Interestingly, relatively limited differences in the accessible chromatin or transcriptome were observed when comparing the same subset from different sites, e.g., NKT1 cells from different tissues. An exception is the unique set of accessible chromatin regions and transcripts identified in all iNKT cell subsets in the lung. Lung iNKT cells exhibited features of increased AP-1 transcription factor activity, which has been correlated with both activation and tissue residency, found in other lung lymphocyte populations. After antigen challenge, an iNKT cell subset with features similar to T follicular helper cells is abundant; these cells are highly different from the other subsets. Taken together, these data indicate that the epigenome and transcriptome of iNKT cells is highly impacted by subset decision, and much less by tissue localization, although dynamic changes occur after antigen exposure.

An important methodological contribution to the field is given by the Multicriteria Decision Analysis (MCDA), due to its ability to combine multiple aspects of a decision problem with the values and opinions expressed by different Decision Makers. The present paper develops the “Group Analytic Hierarchy Process Sorting II method” (GAHPSort II), which aims to sort a group of municipalities included in the UNESCO site “Vineyard Landscape of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero, and Monferrato” (Italy) according to the economic attractiveness of the landscape. Extending the previous versions AHPSort I, AHPSort II and GAHPSort, the GAHPSort II optimizes multi-stakeholder evaluations on large databases by reducing the number of comparisons. Moreover, the GAHPSort II method is proposed as a novel spatial decision support system because it combines a set of economic indicators for landscape and GIS methods for aiding the Decision Makers to better understand the case study and to support the definition and localization of policies and strategies of landscape planning and management.

The mobility of hunter-gatherer groups is crucial in understanding Palaeolithic settlement dynamics. The concept of mobility cannot be separated from the space in which it occurs, including landscape components, localization of critical resources and of other sites, and routes between them. Nevertheless, the landscape is not constant in time due to the geomorphological changes that occurred in the long timescale of Prehistory. Here we present a paleogeographic reconstruction of the coastal area around Grotta dei Santi during the Neandertal occupation. A GIS-based approach, combining geological, bathymetric, and sea-level fluctuations data, allows us to reconstruct the landscape around the cave at about 45 ky BP. The cave today opens onto a cliff facing the sea. The Neandertal occupation occurred with a sea-level 74 m lower than present-day. Consequently, the cave faced a vast coastal plain, playing a strategic role due to its position, allowing both proximity and control of essential resources.

Modern animal breeding is a high-tech industry. It utilizes advances in genetics, biotechnology, and the Internet of Things. In Russia cattle breeding is characterized by high dependence on imported technologies and genetic material, the share of which is up to 90–100%. The domestic scientific and technological potential has had weak incentives to develop in recent years. The aim of the article is to identify, on the basis of patent analysis, scientific and technological areas in cattle breeding with sufficient scientific potential, and areas where domestic potential is insignificant, but it is critically important to develop it. The analysis for the period 2006–2020 in four technological areas — biotechnology, veterinary medicine, feed production and smart farming technologies, — shows that the main patentable developments of Russian applicants are concentrated in veterinary medicine and feed production. This is mostly the legacy of Soviet scientific schools. Modern technologies, especially biotechnology, are undeveloped. Possible solution is to develop technological capacity by licensing foreign technologies and the localization of production.

On the example of the territory of ‘Zelenaya Gavan’ projected complex in Minsk region a principal opportunity is grounded and recommendations on treated surface wastewater disposal using atypical solutions, including filtering multifunctional elements of landscape design (landscape pond), filtering closed (underground filtration fields) tank designed for accumulation and further filtration of water into the ground, and then into the watercourse as a receiver of the entire volume of surface runoff taking into account the hydrological and hydrogeological features of the territory are developed.

Eukaryotes use histone variants and post-translation modifications (PTMs), as well as DNA base modifications, to regulate DNA replication/repair, chromosome condensation, and gene expression. Despite the unusual organization of their protein-coding genes into large polycistronic transcription units (PTUs), trypanosomatid parasites also employ a “histone code” to control these processes, but the details of this epigenetic code are poorly understood. Here, we present the results of experiments designed to elucidate the distribution of histone variants and PTMs over the chromatin landscape of Leishmania tarentolae. These experiments show that two histone variants (H2A.Z and H2B.V) and three histone H3 PTMs (H3K4me3, H3K16ac, and H3K76me3) are enriched at transcription start sites (TSSs); while a histone variant (H3.V) and the trypanosomatid-specific hyper-modified DNA base J are located at transcription termination sites (TTSs). Reduced nucleosome density was observed at all TTSs and TSSs for RNA genes transcribed by RNA polymerases I (RNAPI) or RNAPIII; as well as (to a lesser extent) at TSSs for the PTUs transcribed by RNAPII. Several PTMs (H3K4me3, H3K16ac H3K20me2 and H3K36me3) and base J were enriched at centromeres, while H3K50ac was specifically associated with the periphery of these centromeric sequences. These findings significantly expand our knowledge of the epigenetic markers associated with transcription, DNA replication and/or chromosome segregation in these early diverging eukaryotes and will hopefully lay the groundwork for future studies to elucidate how they control these fundamental processes.

Aim. To study the microflora composition of different localization atherosclerotic plaques in patients with atherosclerosis. Methods. 88 samples of atherosclerotic plaques were analyzed, including brachycephalic arteries - 71, the coronary arteries - 13, the aorta - 2, vessels of lower extremities - 2. The specimens were obtained from 71 men and 17 women aged 30-79 years (mean age 50.8 years). The presence of aerobic and anaerobic microflora was determined by bacteriological method. Detection of the cytomegalovirus nucleic acid, herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, Epstein-Barr virus was performed by real time polymerase chain reaction. Results. The most diverse microflora was represented in the plaques of the neck vessels (carotid arteries). Thereat we found bacteria in 77.5% of the samples, including Propionibacterium acnes - 40.8%, the Staphylococcus genus - 50.7%. 83.3% Staphylococcus isolates were identified as S. epidermidis. In 14.1% of the samples from the brachycephalic artery plaques microorganisms associations (P. acnes and S. epidermidis) were found. The coronary arteries and aorta plaques microflora was represented entirely by P. acnes - 15.4 and 50% respectively. Herpes simplex virus type 1 and 2, and Epstein-Barr virus nucleic acids were detected in 6.7% of samples of carotid artery atherosclerotic plaques. Bacteria associations were presented exclusively in atherosclerotic plaques from brachycephalic arteries - 11.4% of the samples, including 9 bacteria (P. acnes and S. epidermidis) associations, and one association consisted of 3 microorganisms: 2 bacteria (P. acnes and S. epidermidis) and the virus (Epstein-Barr virus). Conclusion. Observed high frequency of microorganisms detection in studied atherosclerotic plaques samples allows to suggest their possible pathogenetic role in the blood vessels endothelium atherosclerotic lesions formation.

While glasses are ubiquitous in natural and manufactured materials, the atomic-level mechanisms governing their deformation and how these mechanisms relate to rheological behavior are still open questions for fundamental understanding. Using atomistic simulations spanning nearly 10 orders of magnitude in the applied strain rate we probe the atomic rearrangements associated with 3 characteristic regimes of homogeneous and heterogeneous shear flow. In the low and high strain-rate limits, simulation results together with theoretical models reveal distinct scaling behavior in flow stress variation with strain rate, signifying a nonlinear coupling between thermally activated diffusion and stress-driven motion. Moreover, we find the emergence of flow heterogeneity is closely correlated with extreme values of local strain bursts that are not readily accommodated by immediate surroundings, acting as origins of shear localization. The atomistic mechanisms underlying the flow regimes are interpreted by analyzing a distance matrix of nonaffine particle displacements, yielding evidence of various barrier-hopping processes on a fractal potential energy landscape (PEL) in which shear transformations and liquid-like regions are triggered by the interplay of thermal and stress activations.

Mammalian SWI/SNF (mSWI/SNF) adenosine triphosphate–dependent chromatin remodelers modulate genomic architecture and gene expression and are frequently mutated in disease. However, the specific chromatin features that govern their nucleosome binding and remodeling activities remain unknown. We subjected endogenously purified mSWI/SNF complexes and their constituent assembly modules to a diverse library of DNA-barcoded mononucleosomes, performing more than 25,000 binding and remodeling measurements. Here, we define histone modification-, variant-, and mutation-specific effects, alone and in combination, on mSWI/SNF activities and chromatin interactions. Further, we identify the combinatorial contributions of complex module components, reader domains, and nucleosome engagement properties to the localization of complexes to selectively permissive chromatin states. These findings uncover principles that shape the genomic binding and activity of a major chromatin remodeler complex family.

Human papillomaviruses (HPVs) are the causative agent of several anogenital cancers as well as head and neck cancers, with HPV+ head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) becoming a rapidly growing public health issue in the Western world. Due its viral etiology and potentially its subanatomical location, HPV+ HNSCC exhibits an immune microenvironment which is more inflamed and thus distinct from HPV-negative HNSCC. Notably, the antigenic landscape in most HPV+ HNSCC tumors extends beyond the classical HPV oncoproteins E6/7 and is extensively targeted by both the humoral and cellular arms of the adaptive immune system. Here, we provide a comprehensive overview of HPV-specific immune responses in patients with HPV+ HNSCC. We highlight the localization, antigen specificity, and differentiation states of humoral and cellular immune responses, and discuss their similarities and differences. Finally, we review currently pursued immunotherapeutic treatment modalities that attempt to harness HPV-specific immune responses for improving clinical outcomes in patients with HPV+ HNSCC.

Super-resolution ultrasound microvascular imaging (SR-UMI) is a fast-growing field that leverages contrast microbubbles (MB) to achieve super-resolution and track blood flow. Conventional SR-UMI is primarily based on MB localization and tracking, which is a challenging task in vivo with complex MB responses subject to various tissue characteristics and imaging settings. Conventional MB localization and tracking approaches based on experimentally calibrated or engineered MB templates typically fall short of capturing the widespread distribution of MB signals in vivo, leading to suboptimal SR-UMI performance. In contrast, deep learning (DL) provides many powerful tools to better represent the complex landscape of MB and blood flow signals that lead to enhanced SR-UMI. In this talk, I will first introduce several DL-based MB localization techniques with discussion on challenges and solutions involving DL training within the context of SR-UMI. I will then introduce several other novel DL-based SR-UMI techniques that do not rely on MB localization or tracking to achieve super-resolution and infer blood velocity. Some of the techniques are contrast-free. In vivo imaging examples from chorioallantoic membrane as well as mouse brain will be presented as validations of the DL-based SR-UMI techniques. In vivo applications in cancer and Alzheimer’s disease will also be presented and discussed in this talk.
