Abstract (sommario):
Abstract To improve the accuracy of numerical control machine tools error, this paper studies the application of laser testing technology in numerical control machine tool, and put forward a laser interferometer automatic aiming system which can conduct space error measurement. The system, in the process of the NC machine tool operating, can measure the machine tool space curve through changing the direction of the laser. The principle of laser interferometer and matlab analysis are adopted, through the experiment of laser interference technology in the numerical control machine tool, the law curve of error in NC machine tools is obtained, getting the method of error of NC machine tools. When conducting laser testing error experiment in NC machine tool, the results show that the laser testing can measure aggregated error and thermal error of NC machine tool better, with small control of environment and high accuracy of measurement.

Abstract (sommario):
For application in large machine tools, the machined part quality, accuracy as well as machining speed depende greatly on the dynamics of the structure. In this paper, an active-excitation modal analysis (AEMA), using inertial force of the moving slider to excite the structural modes, is proposed. Modal parameters of the machine tool structure estimated by AEMA are experimentally validated. Since the artificial excitation produced by elaborate excitation equipment is replaced by the inertial force of the slider, the proposed method is much more practical and economical than traditional methods.

Abstract (sommario):
Testing of the geometrical accuracy of machine tool is one of the important factors in order to know whether the machine can produce a product that fulfills the technical requirement. A testing of shearing machine with parallelism guidance tools was conducted in this research. Testing was carried out based on SNI 05-1192-1989 about the method of testing of accuracy of shearing machine in the final state or without any load. The testing comprised of leveling, tool parallelism, guidance slot and thickness tools frame and the parallelism lower tool and faces limit. The result of the testing shows that those are some deviations which might be caused by the wear of the components. The geometrical deviation has exceeded the tolerance limit; it means that some improvement steps are needed. One of the improvement steps is re-set the machine. Another alternative is using the machine only for producing a lower accuracy product.

Abstract (sommario):
AbstractIn this paper circularity of three different machine tools by Virtual Machine was analyzed. To get circularity we make a ball bar test according to ISO 230-4. The test is very common in engineering for a quick diagnostic Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) technical conditions. We implemented earlier calculations of Volumetric Error in our Virtual Machine. Then we simulated testing of circularity of CNC machine tools. The place to take the test was chosen randomly from Uniform Distribution in three different kinds of machine tools. Those machines had different characteristics of kinematic errors and squareness and also different sizes of working space. We observed significant differences in the indicator (circularity) depending on the place where the test was taken. Moreover we showed that there was no reason to take the test in the center of working table.

Abstract (sommario):
The rise of robo-advisor wealth management services, which constitute a key element of fintech revolution, unveils the question whether they can dominate human-based advice, namely how to address the client’s behavioral biases in an automated way. One approach to it would be the application of machine learning tools during client profiling. However, trained neural network is often considered as a black box, which may raise concerns from the customers and regulators in terms of model validity, transparency, and related risks. In order to address these issues and shed more light on how neurons work, especially to figure out how they perform computation at intermediate layers, this paper visualizes and estimates the neurons’ sensitivity to different input parameters. Before it, the comprehensive review of the most popular optimization algorithms is presented and based on them respective data set is generated to train convolutional neural network. It was found that selected hidden units to some extent are not only specializing in the reaction to such features as, for example, risk, return or risk-aversion level but also they are learning more complex concepts like Sharpe ratio. These findings should help to understand robo-advisor mechanics deeper, which finally will provide more room to improve and significantly innovate the automated wealth management process and make it more transparent.

Abstract (sommario):
A reliability modeling method is proposed based on the time between failures of NC machine tools. According to the field data of the time between failures of a certain type of NC machine tools, parameter estimation of reliability model is made by use of particle swarm optimization (PSO)-based correlation coefficient optimization method, and it is proved that time between failure of CNC machine tool obeyed mathematical model of 3-parameter Weibull distribution via hypothesis testing. This provides the basis for reliability assessment of NC machine tool as well as the development of maintenance strategy in the future. Meanwhile, it also provides a theoretical reference for the reliability prediction of the whole NC machine tool.

Abstract (sommario):
Past efforts at implementing Load Spectrum Generation and Neuber Control have centered around minicomputers and analog circuits. The use of a personal computer to implement the tasks is presented. On implementation of the load Spectrum Generation software, the response of the Materials Testing System was investigated for distortion and attenuation. In particular, the effect of the resolution of the waveform on the test system response was noted. There was negligible attenuation for full scale frequencies of up to 20 Hz. Greater waveform resolution was required at lower frequencies than at higher frequencies. On implementation of the Neuber Control program, the accuracy obtained at the Neuber hyperbolas was noted. Better accuracy was obtained at ramp frequencies below 0.1 Hz. Based on the results obtained after implementing the Load Spectrum Generator program and the Neuber Control program, the performance of the personal computer in controlling fatigue tests is evaluated. Cost effectiveness and versatility favor the use of a personal computer for the control of fatigue tests.

Abstract (sommario):
Software testing is something that is very common and is done to increase the quality of and confidence in a software. In this report, an idea is proposed to create a software for GUI regression testing which uses image recognition to perform steps from test cases. The problem that exists with such a solution is that if a GUI has had changes made to it, then many test cases might break. For this reason, REGTEST was created which is a GUI regression testing tool that is able to handle one type of change that has been made to the GUI component, such as a change in color, shape, location or text. This type of solution is interesting because setting up tests with such a tool can be very fast and easy, but one previously big drawback of using image recognition for GUI testing is that it has not been able to handle changes well. It can be compared to tools that use IDs to perform a test where the actual visualization of a GUI component does not matter; It only matters that the ID stays the same; however, when using such tools, it either requires underlying knowledge of the GUI component naming conventions or the use of tools which automatically constructs XPath queries for the components. To verify that REGTEST can work as well as existing tools a comparison was made against two professional tools called Ranorex and Kantu. In those tests, REGTEST proved very successful and performed close to, or better than the other software.

Abstract (sommario):
This master's thesis deals with the broaching technology. Theoretical part includes the essay about the technology, tools and machines used for broaching. Theoretical part also describes the analysis of the broaching machine testing. Practical part is focused on the collecting, comparing and analysis of the data. These data have been collected during and after the broaching process. The supplier of the new analysed broaching machine is Stenhoj Hydraulik and the older machine has been made by Arpini. The measurements show that the increased number of broached pieces influence the cutting force and the quality of the surface due to wear of the tool which has been also monitored. The measuring dimension through the ball is almost constant. In the conclusion we evaluated the economical aspect of the results.

The purpose of this thesis is to study a new contouring system for CNC machine tools. The system, which uses the tooling taser and photo diode of position sensor detector, is different form the traditional telescope magnetic Ball Bar system. The system is employed to obtain the contouring error in each of two single axises and these two error components also can be integrated as a radial error such as the error obtained by the Ball Bar system. The work of employing the multi-single axis contouring system includes the displacement calibration of the PSDs, the setting-up of the PSDs mounted on the table, the lay out of the contouring path, the method deciding the start point and the end point in a contouring test, the intergration of the circularity and the research of contouring error of two single axis in the contouring test. First, in the tesis the error of the CNC machine and other traditional contouring systems are introduced. Then, the software and the hardware of the system are described. The system is employed to test the CNC machine. At last, the analysis of the test results and some discussions and suggestions are provided in this system.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract Model-based testing is a widely-used vital technique for testing software running in a complex environment. In this paper, we propose extensions to existing model-based tools to apply this technique to software that employs the MQ Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol for transmitting messages, commonly used in the Internet of Things (IoT) environment. First, in the finite state machine used for generating test cases in a model-based testing framework, we introduce a type of transition that is triggered when receiving MQTT messages. Second, we extend the finite-state machine so that it produces test cases that reflect the characteristics of IoT software – a large number of relatively simple devices communicate with servers. Third, the concept of time is introduced into the finite state machine. Naturally, this is necessary for verifying the properties of software that runs for a long time. Moreover, to facilitate such verification, both real-time and virtual time are introduced. We implemented these extensions into a model-based testing tool, Modbat, and conducted a small experiment to confirm the feasibility, gaining positive results.

Abstract (sommario):
Modal analysis testing of a mechanical structure is performed usually by artificial excitation of a structure and measuring input forces and output responses of a mechanical system. The excitation is either transient (impact hammer testing), random, burst-random or sinusoidal (shaker testing). The modern signal processing tools enable to determine properties of a mechanical structure such as resonance frequencies, damping ratios, and mode patterns by measuring the response of the structure without using an artificial excitation. The advantage of this technique is that modal parameters of a structure may be evaluated while the structure is under actual operating conditions. That will allow developing a model within true boundary conditions and actual force and vibration levels. The machine tool structure characteristics that effect productivity and quality have to be evaluated by testing. These characteristics include natural frequencies, modes of vibration, and external sources of high level vibration. Not all modes of machine tool structure effect machine quality. As a result only the modes that are excited during cutting have to be taken in the account. This approach narrowed the frequency range, which has to be considered in test. The machine tool during cutting and/or idling is loaded by a set of external and internal exciting forces. Spectrum, frequency range and application points of these forces are unknown in many cases. Under these exciting forces the vibration between the tool and workpiece, and vibration of machine tool components are sums of many independent vibrations and may be considered as stationary random processes. This assumption allows applying the theory of stationary random processes to machine tool dynamic testing during cutting. Several characteristics of random processes are used to separate harmonic vibration from narrow-band random vibration at natural frequencies. The spectral analysis of machined surface profiles and its correlation with observed vibration allows choosing modes that have to be developed. The analysis of these modes provides a basis for machine tool structure improvement. The proposed experimental approach was verified by experiments at different machine tools. Results of these tests are presented in the paper.

Abstract (sommario):
The frequency response function (FRF) of a CNC machine tool is composed of tool/toolholder/spindle dynamics, and plays an important role in determining the stability of high speed machining processes. This paper details the design, development and operational verification of a non-contacting, controllable, electromechanical actuator (EMA) for measuring the FRFs of tools mounted in CNC milling machines. Although standard modal testing methods are available and provide similarly accurate results, these test procedures are difficult to perform in machine shop environments and can require expensive equipment. The EMA developed as part of this research extends the capabilities of the NIST “best speeds device” to provide controllable, non-contacting excitation for modal tests on machine tools. This EMA device offers the advantages of being accurate, easy to use, and applicable to a wide variety of tools and operating conditions.
