Indeed, prevention and intervention programs for mental health disorders that have evidenced improvements in youth from general population are not well integrated into community resources of YLINs and appear to be a poor fit for YLINs. Along this vein, experts have indicated there is an immediate need to empirically refine existing evidence-based mental health programs to be less stigmatizing, more culturally sensitive, relevan

An agent-based wellness indicator is an information visualization system designed to present wellness and decision-support information to individuals and their caregivers by elaborating the data provided by measuring devices utilizing the unique characteristics of software agents. The wellness indicator is constructed from an operational wellness model we developed. The model allows an automatic measuring system to calculate the wellness level for a number of indicators resulting in an overall wellness level. These results can be presented in a simple graphical format. The software has been evaluated by following the steps provided in the framework for testing a wellness visualization system. The evaluation is carried out by both general users and healthcare professionals. The results show positive feedback on various aspects of the indicator; and confirm that the wellness indicator can assist people to have a better understanding of their personal state of well-being and can support caregivers in delivering their services.

Abstract (sommario):
The L.E.A.D. program involves teacher candidates collaborating with schools in the delivery of leadership programming for at-risk youth. Compulsory to their learning throughout the program, teacher candidates learn about various topics regarding support for at-risk students' wellbeing. This chapter presents an intervention for supporting at-risk youths' overall wellness which could be integrated within a L.E.A.D. practice. Previous interventions targeting social-skills and self-regulatory behaviour for at-risk elementary students increased academic achievement. Given the interrelationship between emotion and cognition, a “metawellness” intervention that employs metacognition and metaemotion, directed to the six domains of wellness (i.e., physical, emotional, social, intellectual, occupational, spiritual) is proposed for educators to apply to at-risk learners. Hypothetical cases are examined to illustrate potential pathways for, and benefits of, implementing the intervention with at-risk learners. Limitations and recommendations for the present intervention are included.

Abstract (sommario):
This chapter discusses integrative community health nursing, providing a model to guide practitioners as they address the physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of individuals, families, communities and society overall. Community health nurses are in a prime position to comprehensively assess needs of community members, and integrate beneficial and culturally based healing interventions. At all levels of care, integrative community health nurses establish strong caring relationships, recognize the importance of cultural beliefs and values, and incorporate therapies to nurture the body-mind-spirit, resulting in whole person/system healing. Exemplars of integrative nursing are presented to illustrate creative possibilities for community health and wellness.

In Issues on Risk Analysis for Critical Infrastructure Protection [Working Title]. IntechOpen, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.5772/intechopen.95367.

Abstract (sommario):
From an engineering point of view, the survivability of a system is defined as its ability to continue to operate despite a natural or human-made disturbance; for example a serious mechanical fault, a human error, or a malicious cyber or physical attack. In the context of critical infrastructures, due to their relevance for the public wellness, it is mandatory to improve the robustness of such systems in order to ensure the availability of essential services such as the distribution of water, gas and electrical power. Nowadays, due to the increasing number of cyber incidents, the definition of protection strategies, able to improve the survivability level of this infrastructure, is at the heart of the scientific debate. In this chapter we propose a procedure based on three steps aimed at improving infrastructure survivability. In the first stage we propose some approaches to identify the criticality degree of each subsystem composing the infrastructure, in the second stage we propose a method to aggregate multiple criticality evaluations performed by subject matter experts by providing a unique holistic indicator. Finally, on the basis of such indicator, we propose a protection strategy to improve the robustness of the entire system.

Abstract (sommario):
This chapter focuses on the boundary between acceptable and unacceptable (that is, exploitative) work-based control. It argues that there is a need for much greater discussion and debate from those interested in defining labour exploitation. For example, there is undoubtedly a nebulous boundary between consent and coercion that requires more critical attention. There is also the opportunity to help define labour exploitation by establishing its polar opposite (i.e. decent work). In addition, outcomes (especially physical and psychological harm) are usually a good indicator of exploitation, but more work is needed on both identifying the nature of harm and in linking it to control and exploitation. Finally, some forms of exploitation are easier to explain, rationalise and justify than others, and so the boundary between what is acceptable and what is unacceptable is, in some cases, context specific. Overall, then, and having mapped out the controls workers face in the preceding chapters, it is important to discuss and debate when and where these controls may be tied to exploitation and harm.

Abstract (sommario):
One Health is a principle that takes into account the interactions of humans, animals, the surrounding environment, and how they affect each other. In order to examine this concept in an experimental paradigm, the effects and benefits of wild Alaskan blueberries were compared to those from the continental United States (Lower-48 states) in human and animal studies. Blueberries have been hailed as a superfood for years now due to their high antioxidant levels and the positive effects they have on cardiovascular health and overall health and well-being. We hypothesize that although they are both beneficial, wild Alaskan blueberries have a greater positive effect on health and well-being than those from the lower 48. First, teachers and staff at the Anne Wien Elementary School in Fairbanks Alaska were provided with Alaskan and Lower-48 blueberries and asked to log the effects each coded sample had on their mental and physical health compared to a 5-day control period without blueberries. There was a significant stepwise positive effect of respondents reporting higher self-ratings of well-being overall. Alaskan blueberries significantly improved self-ratings of well-being compared to those from Lower-48 blueberries, albeit those blueberries did improve well-being compared to no blueberries. This experiment was replicated at a control site contemporaneously. The following year it was also replicated by participating teachers and staff at William S. Hackett Middle School in Albany, New York, as well as a control site. Further, lab rats, whose diets were supplemented with with Alaskan blueberries, performed better in exploratory and cognitive tests than did rats whose diets were supplemented with Lower-48 blueberries (who, similar to the previous trials, performed better than rats whose diets had not been supplemented at all). These findings suggest that blueberries have an overall positive effect on self-rated wellness in people and cognitive performance in lab rats and that Alaskan blueberries have a particularly greater and more beneficial effect. Whether this is due to greater antioxidant effects associated with higher altitude or fewer endocrine-disrupting contaminants in Alaska compared to the Lower-48 States is unknown and subject to ongoing investigation.

This paper is based on a detail review of literature available in the area of climate change, vulnerability and impact assessment. Methodological issues pertaining to vulnerability like; development of vulnerability indicators, process of indicator selection etc are the main focus in this paper. As discussed indicators are more acceptable, easy to understand and help in comparing across regions. However, indicators also possess a number of limitations. There are issues in selecting indicators and how to aggregate their values. The current study tries to overcome those issues through a primary study. The study region is Mumbai, India and ‘Koli' fishing communities reside in the city. The socio-economic implications of climate change and vulnerability of communities depending on fishery are estimated by developing vulnerability indicators using Sustainable Livelihood Approach (SLA), and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Further experts opinions are considered while selecting indicators. Vulnerability indicators are derived from literature and validated through experts' opinion. Experts are chosen from higher learning institutes in the city. In the climate change literature vulnerability mainly divided into exposure, sensitivity and adaptive capacity. The indicators of sensitivity and exposure under vulnerability are combined here and categorized into two: livelihood and perceived changes. Similarly the indicators of adaptive capacity are of five categories comprising human, physical, financial, social and government policy related indicators. Thus a total 30 indicators are selected. Among five fishing villages surveyed, fishermen from Madh and Worli are found more vulnerable because of their high sensitivity and low adaptive capacity. The derived vulnerability scores are further compared and analyzed against the scores derived from experts. The overall result shows the experts value of indicators are similar with the indicator score derived in the study using simple aggregate method. This study further provides policy implications for reducing vulnerability of fishing villages.

Abstract In the companion Part 1 of this two part series paper a mathematical model of combustion process in a diesel engine was presented having both premixed and diffusion flame. The combustion of fuel vaporized during the self-ignition delay period is modeled according to the conditions of premixed flame. A kinetic differential equation has been created for modeling this kind of combustion. The combustion of fuel during the injection process is modeled according to the theory of diffusion flames. This process is strongly influenced by processes of fuel injection, vaporization and diffusion.
