Objectifs. Le but de cette enquête était d’évaluer le degré d’implémentation des principes et approches de merchandising au niveau des pharmacies d’officine au Maroc, et d’en déduire l’intérêt d’une étude à large échelle qui pourrait aboutir à l’élaboration d’un modèle conceptuel efficace et adapté aux spécificités du contexte Marocain. Matériels et Méthode. Nous avons établi un questionnaire anonyme s’adressant aux titulaires d’officines. Ce questionnaire semi directif renfermant 14 questions, repartis en 6 principales parties : La 1ère renseigne sur le profil de l’officine en question, La 2ème et la 3ème partie évalue le degré de connaissance et d’utilisation des techniques de marchandising par les pharmaciens d’officine. La 4ème et la 5ème partie portent sur la gestion du merchandising au sein de la pharmacie et l’utilité commerciale de cette technique. Enfin, la dernière partie porte sur la formation en merchandising. Résultats et discussion. 62 pharmaciens d’officine ont répondu au questionnaire. La majorité des pharmaciens titulaires ont déclaré l’utilisation des techniques du merchandising pour les raisons suivantes : Augmenter les ventes, et clarifier l’offre. 59,6 % des pharmaciens pensent que le merchandising a une place importante surtout pour les produits parapharmaceutiques. Le merchandising à l’officine a un impact positif sur la pharmacie. Ainsi 79,2% des pharmaciens affirment que l’amélioration du merchandising dans leur espace de vente leur a permis d’apprécier une augmentation de la rentabilité de l’officine (vente, fidélisation, panier d’achat). Cette étude auprès des pharmaciens titulaires a permis de montrer l’intérêt que les pharmaciens commencent à donner au Merchandising et à ses techniques. La grande majorité des interrogés ont affirmé que le merchandising est devenu une méthode indispensable dans la stratégie de différenciation et un outil incontestable de développement de la pharmacie. Introduction : Les topiques auriculaires (TA) sont très utilisés dans le monde en raison de leur remarquable efficacité. L’objectif de cette étude était d’évaluer les connaissances et pratiques des pharmaciens et auxiliaires des officines de pharmacie de la ville de Parakou face aux topiques auriculaires en 2021. Méthode : Il s’est agi d’une étude transversale à visée descriptive et analytique portant sur les pharmaciens et auxiliaires des 19 officines de la ville de Parakou. Les données ont été collectées à l’aide d’une fiche d’enquête du 8 Avril 2021 au 8 Juillet 2021. Résultats : Sur les 129 sujets colligés, les auxiliaires représentaient 86,05% des enquêtés et les pharmaciens (13,95%). La sex-ratio était de 0,32 avec une prédominance féminine. L’âge moyen était de 31,78 ans ±8,52ans. Près de la moitié des enquêtés avaient en majorité moins de 5 ans d’ancienneté (49,61%). La majorité des enquêtés (66,67%) avaient reçu leurs connaissances sur les topiques auriculaires lors de leur formation de base. Les gouttes auriculaires étaient la forme galénique connue de tous (100%). Les antibiotiques étaient la classe thérapeutique la plus connue (97,64 %). Seuls 11,62% des enquêtés avaient une bonne connaissance des topiques auriculaires. Le bon niveau était significativement plus retrouvé chez les pharmaciens comparativement aux auxiliaires de pharmacie (p=0,004). Les topiques auriculaires étaient délivrés hors prescription médicale dans 97,67% des cas. L’automédication représentait 89,92% selon les enquêtés. En cas d’automédication, l’intégrité des tympans n’était pas vérifiée dans 92,80% des cas. La pratique adéquate était retrouvée chez 40,31% des enquêtés. Conclusion : Cette étude a montré que le niveau de connaissance du personnel de pharmacie sur les topiques auriculaires est insuffisant mais la pratique est adéquate chez 40% des enquêtés. Des mesures d’information et de sensibilisation sur les topiques auriculaires sont à envisager pour améliorer les niveaux de connaissance et de pratique des pharmaciens et auxiliaires des officines de pharmacie de la ville de Parakou sur les topiques auriculaires.
Introduction: Topical Ear Medication (TEM) is widely used around the world because of its remarkable efficacy. The goal of this study was to assess the knowledge and practices of pharmacists and associate pharmacists with regard to topical ear medication in Parakou city in 2021. Method: This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study on pharmacists and their associates in the 19 pharmacies of Parakou city. Data were collected using a survey form from April 8, 2021 to July 8, 2021. Results: Out of 129 subjects collected, associate pharmacists represented 86.05% of respondents and pharmacists (13.95%). The sex ratio was 0.32 with a female predominance. The average age was 31.78 years ± 8.52 years. Nearly half of the respondents had mostly less than 5 years of seniority (49.61%). The majority of respondents (66.67%) had received their knowledge on topical ear medication during their basic training. Ear drops were the dosage form known to everyone (100%). Antibiotics were the best known therapeutic class (97.64%). Only 11.62% of respondents had a good knowledge of topical ear medication. The good level was found significantly more among pharmacists compared to associate pharmacists (p=0.004). Topical ear medication was delivered without a medical prescription in 97.67% of cases. Self-medication accounted for 89.92% according to respondents. In case of self-medication, the integrity of eardrums was not checked in 92.80% of cases. Adequate practice was found in 40.31% of respondents. Conclusion: It appears from this study that the level of pharmacy staff knowledge on topical ear medication is insufficient but the practice is adequate in 40% of respondents. Measures of sensibilisation should be taken to improve the level of knowledge and practice among pharmacists and their associates on topical ear medication in Parakou city.

Background: Little is known about hospital pharmacists’ experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, as studies to date have focused on community pharmacy practices. Objectives: To determine hospital pharmacists’ perceptions of their workplace preparedness for the COVID-19 pandemic and to measure their mental well-being with the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale (WEMWBS). Methods: Pharmacists working in Canadian hospital inpatient settings during the COVID-19 pandemic were invited to participate in a 2-part online survey. Part A was a 46-item survey containing statements related to directions and support from leadership, personal protective equipment practices, work environment, and emotions. Part B assessed respondents’ mental well-being using the validated 14-item WEMWBS. Responses to both parts of the survey were based on Likert scales. The survey was open from July to September 2020. Descriptive analyses were applied. Results: A total of 432 hospital pharmacists consented to participate in the study. Most respondents were women (337/432, 78%), and most were 25 to 44 years old (293/432, 68%). Most respondents were confident that their workplace and pharmacy department were effectively managing patient demand (314/389, 81%) and the pandemic more generally (263/394, 67%). They also felt that their workplace teams were working well together (314/386, 81%). Interestingly, 22% (86/391) of the respondents did not agree that they had received training for COVID-19 infection prevention and control practices. The mean WEMWBS score was 48.9 (standard deviation 8.6), which indicated average mental well-being. Conclusions: After the initial wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, respondents perceived their hospitals and departments as being able to manage the pandemic and reported average mental well-being. Ensuring that all hospital pharmacists receive training for effective COVID-19 infection prevention and control practices is crucial. How their perceptions and well-being have changed since the time of the survey is unknown. RÉSUMÉ Contexte : On sait peu de choses sur les expériences des pharmaciens d’hôpitaux pendant la pandémie de COVID-19, car les études à ce jour se sont concentrées sur les pratiques de la pharmacie communautaire. Objectifs : Cerner les perceptions des pharmaciens d’hôpitaux quant à la préparation de leur lieu de travail à la pandémie de COVID-19 et mesurer leur bien-être mental à l’aide de l’échelle de bien-être mental Warwick-Edinburgh (WEMWBS). Méthodes : Les pharmaciens qui travaillaient en milieu hospitalier canadien pendant la pandémie de COVID-19 ont été invités à participer à un sondage en ligne en deux volets. Le volet A consistait en une enquête portant sur 46 éléments contenant des déclarations liées aux orientations et au soutien de la direction, aux pratiques en matière d’équipement de protection individuelle, à l’environnement de travail et aux émotions. Le volet B a quant à lui permis d’évaluer le bien-être mental des répondants à l’aide de l’échelle WEMWBS validée à 14 points. Les réponses aux deux volets de l’enquête se basaient sur des échelles de Likert. Le sondage était ouvert de juillet à septembre 2020. Des analyses descriptives ont été appliquées. Résultats : Au total, 432 pharmaciens d’hôpitaux ont accepté de participer à l’étude. La plupart des répondants étaient des femmes (337/432, 78 %), et la plupart avaient entre 25 et 44 ans (293/432, 68 %). La plupart des répondants étaient convaincus que leur lieu de travail et leur service de pharmacie géraient efficacement la demande des patients (314/389, 81 %) et la pandémie en général (263/394, 67 %). Ils ont aussi estimé que leurs équipes de travail travaillaient bien ensemble (314/386, 81 %). Fait intéressant : 22 % des répondants (86/391) convenaient ne pas avoir reçu de formation sur les pratiques de prévention et de contrôle des infections à la COVID-19. Le score moyen sur l’échelle WEMWBS était de 48,9 (écart type 8,6), ce qui indique un bien-être mental moyen. Conclusions : Après la première vague de la pandémie de COVID-19, les répondants ont perçu leurs hôpitaux et leurs services comme étant capables de gérer la pandémie et ont déclaré un bien-être mental moyen. Veiller à ce que tous les pharmaciens d’hôpitaux reçoivent une formation sur les pratiques efficaces de prévention et de contrôle des infections à la COVID-19 est crucial. On ne sait pas comment leurs perceptions et leur bien-être ont changé depuis le moment de l’enquête.

L’automédication par des médicaments à prescription médicale facultative (PMF) est une situation fréquente, avec un impact socioéconomique positif lié à l’épargne de consultations médicales non justifiées et au renforcement de l’autonomie des patients. La prévention des risques de l’automédication associés à un mésusage est un enjeu majeur qui repose notamment sur la confiance et le rôle accordés au pharmacien. Cet article propose un état des lieux de l’automédication de la douleur à l’appui des données les plus récentes et une discussion sur le rôle attendu du pharmacien dans le parcours de soins du patient douloureux. Les complications associées à un mésusage involontaire des antalgiques à PMF sont faibles. Les données françaises en « vie réelle » indiquent une connaissance relativement bonne par les consommateurs de leur usage, particulièrement du paracétamol, et la mention quasi systématique par les équipes officinales des indications et posologies. Les précautions d’emploi sont en revanche moins fréquemment évoquées. Cet aspect, couplé à la nécessité d’évaluer si la demande justifie un avis médical, implique la capacité des pharmaciens à identifier des situations à risque. Le concept émergeant de pharmacist-led medication est limité par le temps court alloué à la délivrance et à l’hétérogénéité du niveau de formation au sein des équipes officinales concernant la prise en charge d’une plainte douloureuse. La faisabilité d’un rôle accru du pharmacien dans le parcours de soins du patient douloureux implique des investissements à la hauteur d’une formation adaptée et continue des équipes officinales dont les acteurs et la méthodologie restent à définir.

En 1981, le gouvemement du Québec promulguait une loi qui visait à intégrer davantage les médecins chefs de département clinique à la gestion des hôpitaux. Aussitôt, le département d'administration de la santé de l'Université de Montréal a mis sur pied des sessions intensives de formation en gestion pour ces médecins, À partir de leur début en 1985, 14 sessions ont été offertes à près de 400 médecins. Également, depuis 1985, le ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux du Québec octroie au département une subvention annuelle de 50000 $ garantie jusqu'en 1992. Les responsables de ce programme sont à concevoir un programme semblable pour les personnes qui assument diverses responsabilités à la direction des soins infirmiers.

RÉSUMÉL'augmentation des dépenses de médicaments a placé les aîné(e)s sous les feux de la réforme de santé puisqu'ils en sont les plus grands consommateurs. On pourrait apporter des modifications substantielles à la consommation de médicaments presents, ce qui rehausserait les bienfaits des traitements et en minimiserait les effets négatifs, surtout chez les aîné(e)s. On documente ici un bon nombre de problèmes, notamment la surconsommation et la sous-consommation des médicaments, les erreurs d'ordonnances, la conformité au traitement et les médicaments inutilement coûteux. On a démontré l'efficacité de certaines éléments à l'égard de certains aspects du problème; qu'on cite simplement les politiques reliées au système de soins de santé, les interventions de certains médecins et de pharmaciens d'hôpitaux, les aides à la prise de dècisions et à la conformité aux traitements. Il faut mettre en place l'intégration des principales politiques et des interventions en une solution globale visant une meilleure utilisation des médicaments. Elle pourrait se composer des éléments suivants: (1) la révision des politiques de relations entre l'industrie pharmacologique et le secteur de la santé; (2) l'établissement de règlements d'expérimentation des médicaments chez les aînés avant leur approbation; (3) un institut du consommateur servant de ressource centrale objective aux demandes de renseignements des patients et de système d'appui aux décisions; (4) des systèmes intégrés d'information clinique à l'appui des systèmes de gestion des ordonnances et de la fourniture des médicaments et de la gestion des médicaments et des maladies à l'intention des pharmaciens et des médecins de premier recours; (5) une réforme de la formation médicale et de l'octroi des permis.

Community pharmacies across the United States are forming clinically integrated networks (CINs) to facilitate the provision of patient-centered care. These networks need to continually innovate and demonstrate how their patient care services positively impact health outcomes. One way to do this is to develop a practice-based research network (PBRN) in partnership with existing CINs to perform robust outcome evaluations. The objective of this study was to learn pharmacists’ opinions on participating in research to facilitate the formation of a community pharmacy PBRN in Pennsylvania. A 20-item survey gathered information on pharmacists’ research interests, perceived benefits of research participation, and preferences on communication and patient engagement. Descriptive statistics and Chi-square tests were used to analyze quantitative data. Seventy-three participants completed the survey, with 47% representing independent pharmacies. The majority (96%) were interested in research opportunities and 86% believed improving workflow and patient care was the most valuable benefit. Eighty percent of pharmacists reported it is very important to demonstrate that pharmacists care about making patients’ health better. Connecting pharmacists with other health care providers was reported as very important by 75% of respondents. Pharmacists reported face-to-face communication (76%) as their preferred way to approach patients about research and 72% supported using student pharmacists to assist with patient engagement. The results from this study can inform others who are structuring processes and developing communication strategies for community pharmacy PBRNs, particularly in partnership with CINs.

First-generation H1-antihistamines are commonly utilized in hospital, however, these agents are associated with a number of undesirable adverse effects such as central nervous system (CNS) depression, cardiotoxicity and death in overdose.We performed a retrospective analysis of all first-generation antihistamine prescriptions at the Regina General Hospital over the past year from January 1, 2019 – January 1, 2020. A total of 6,972 prescriptions were written during the study period, 6,692 (96%) of which were for first-generation antihistamines. The largest number of prescriptions for first generation antihistamines was in surgery, followed by internal medicine, and obstetrics and gynecology.Physicians, pharmacists, and nurses in these areas may benefit from education around the potential for serious harm of first-generation antihistamines and the availability of safer alternatives. Additionally, limiting access to first-generation antihistamines in hospital would encourage safer prescribing habits and familiarity with second-generation agents. RésuméLes antihistaminiques H1 de première génération sont couramment utilisés en milieu hospitalier. Toutefois, ces agents sont associés à un certain nombre d’effets indésirables comme la dépression du système nerveux central (SNC), la cardiotoxicité et le décès causé par une surdose.Nous avons effectué une analyse rétrospective de toutes les ordonnances d’antihistaminiques de première génération délivrées à l’hôpital régional de Régina au cours d’une année, soit du 1er janvier 2019 au 1er janvier 2020. Au total, 6972 ordonnances ont été rédigées au cours de la période à l’étude, dont 6692 (96 %) pour des antihistaminiques de première génération. Le plus grand nombre d’ordonnances d’antihistaminiques de première génération ont été rédigées en chirurgie, suivie de la médecine interne et de l’obstétrique et de la gynécologie.Les médecins, les pharmaciens et les infirmières de ces secteurs pourraient tirer profit d’une formation sur le potentiel de dangerosité des antihistaminiques de première génération et sur l’existence de solutions de rechange plus sûres. En outre, le fait de limiter l’accès aux antihistaminiques de première génération en milieu hospitalier favoriserait des habitudes d’ordonnance plus sûres et la familiarisation avec les agents de deuxième génération.

Objectives:Post-coital insertion of the Copper-T intrauterine device (IUD) is the most effective method of emergency contraception (EC). However, few women use this method of pregnancy prevention in Canada. Our study aimed to explore Ontario pharmacists’ knowledge of the IUD as EC and interest in a hypothetical “same day referral” program that would provide women seeking progestin-only EC with information about and a timely referral for post-coital IUD insertion.Methods: We received 198 mailed surveys from representatives of Ontario pharmacies and conducted 17 in-depth interviews with a subset of respondents in 2015. We analyzed the survey data using descriptive statistics and interviews for content and themes using both deductive and inductive techniques.Results:Our results suggest that Ontario pharmacists underestimate the efficacy of the IUD as EC and lack awareness of the protocols for use. Survey respondents and interviewees expressed support for a “same day referral” program in Ontario and believe more effective methods of EC should be easily accessible. Interviewees discussed current barriers to the use of IUDs as EC, including the up-front costs associated with insertion and a general lack of awareness about EC among health professionals and communities.Discussion: There is a significant need for continuing education on the full range of EC methods among pharmacists. Considerable enthusiasm exists for undertaking efforts to expand access to more effective EC methods. Developing a pilot project to facilitate timely referrals for post-coital IUD insertion appears warranted.RésuméObjectifs : L’insertion postcoïtale d’un dispositif intra-utérin (DIU) au cuivre est la méthode la plus efficace de contraception d’urgence (CU). Toutefois, peu de femmes au Canada utilisent cette méthode de prévention de la grossesse. Notre étude visait à explorer les connaissances des pharmacien(ne)s ontarien(ne)s sur le DIU utilisé comme CU, ainsi que leur intérêt pour un programme hypothéque d’orienta on du même jour, qui fournirait en temps opportun de l’information et une insertion postcoïtale d’un DUI aux femmes désirant une CU à progestatif seul. Méthodes : Nous avons reçu 198 sondages par la poste de la part de représentants de pharmacies ontariennes, et avons mené 17 entrevues détaillées avec un sous-ensemble des répondants en 2015. Nous avons analysé les données de l’enquête à l’aide de statisques descriptives, ainsi que le contenu et les thèmes des entrevues au moyen de méthodes déductives et inductives. Résultats : Nos résultats indiquent que les pharmacien(ne)s de l’Ontario sous-estiment la capcacité du DIU utilisé comme CU et ne connaissent pas les protocoles nécessaires. Les répondants à l’enquête et les sujets interrogés ont exprimé leur soutien au programme d’orientation du jour même en Ontario et croient que des méthodes plus efficaces de CU devraient être facilement accessibles. Les personnes interrogées ont discuté des obstacles actuels à l’utiisation du DIU utilisé comme CU, incluant les coûts initiaux associés à l’insertion, et le manque général de connaissances sur la CU parmi les professionnels de la santé et les communautés. Discussion : Il existe un besoin important de formations professionnelles continues pour les pharmacien(ne)s sur la gamme complète de CU. Plusieurs démontrent un enthousiasme considérable quant au déploiement d’efforts pour améliorer l’accès à des méthodes plus efficaces de CU. An important role in the formation of modern Lithuanian society was played by pharmacists who at the beginning of the 20th century were one of the most numerous parts of Lithuanian intelligentsia. They chose a job in a pharmacy not as a mission of life but due to political, social, and economic reasons. The majority of pharmacists were children of peasants who had refused to obey their parents and study in the seminary of priests. Those people who had been ousted from gymnasiums because of an anticzarist activity or those who had not finished school due to the lack of money also became pharmacists. Young men who had chosen a way of self-support left to the biggest cities of Russia and started the practice of an apprentice in a pharmacy. Later, they took examinations to become an assistant of a pharmacist, and after two years of studies at university, they took examinations of a pharmacist at last. Having got a diploma, they usually did not return to their motherland because there was a large network of pharmacies; thus, business conditions were harder, of course. They established pharmacies in various provinces of Russia most often, and it is supposed that only 10% of Lithuanian pharmacists worked in their native country. Living and working in a Russian environment, however, they enshrined national patriotic ideas, were active participants in social activities, published a Lithuanian professional newspaper “Farmaceutų reikalai” (translation, “Matters of pharmacists“), and attempted to unite all Lithuanians living in czarist Russia to struggle against denationalization, to encourage people to return to their motherland, and to work for its good. This article deals with the path for a career of Lithuanian pharmacists in czarist Russia and their national patriotic activity.

Studies have been conducted to optimize the processes of personnel management in pharmacies, to determine the relationship between the type of a pharmacist’s personality and the availability of organizational and career competencies. In order to determine the competencies necessary for the work performed, the analysis of the specifics of the pharmacists’ work (at the examples of a manager, a pharmacist with higher education, and a pharmacist with secondary professional education) has been carried out. An expert assessment of the questionnaire has been made to assess the significance of five clusters of competencies (will and leadership, interpersonal communication, organizational and strategic skills, self-positioning) in relation to the specifics of the activities at the pharmacy. The relationship between the positions of specialists and the level of development of their competencies has been determined and expressed quantitatively (from 1 to 5 points). There is a low correlation between the indicators of the competencies of the managers and pharmacists. It confirms the need for differentiation in the formation of sets of competencies for training the specialists. Based on the Lominger competencies model and the results of expert research, the ‘Personality type – position’ matrix for a pharmacy’s manager has been constructed. A personality type was determined by means of the questionnaire of Myers & Briggs test. An algorithm for determining the optimal personality type of a candidate for the position of manager has been presented. Similar calculations can be made for pharmacists with higher education and pharmacists with secondary professional education. The data obtained make it possible to use them in the determination of a working place, hiring, and rotation of specialists.

One of the most promising ways to increase the efficiency of pharmaceutical enterprises in the field of quality assurance of medicines is the introduction of integrated quality systems (IQS).
The aim of the work is to study of the state of readiness of pharmaceutical institutions (pharmaceutical warehouses, pharmacies) and hospital pharmaceutical services of Ukraine for the implementation of integrated quality systems.
The materials of the research are: scientific publications; regulatory legal acts of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine; public reporting information of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drug Control; information posted on professional specialized websites and official websites of pharmaceutical enterprises, hospitals, health departments of local government; information obtained in the process of direct observation and questionnaire survey. Research methods are: systematic review, generalization, observation, questionnaire survey, mathematical-statistical, graphical modeling.
The paper analyzes the availability of certificates of conformity to the requirements of good distribution practice (GDP) in wholesale pharmaceutical enterprises of Ukraine. The geography of the location of certified pharmaceutical warehouses in different regions of Ukraine is considered. In the context of the prospect of formation of IQS, the experience of a wholesale pharmaceutical company with respect to environmental, hygiene and safety and social responsibility is demonstrated. Based on the study of public information, the state of implementation of certified quality management systems (QMS) based on the standard ISO 9001 in pharmacies and hospitals of Ukraine is considered. The expediency of the development of the pharmaceutical IQS as an integral part of the overall QMS of the hospital is shown. Through the questionnaire survey of pharmacists, the state of readiness of Ukrainian pharmacies for the implementation of IQS based on the requirements of good practices and international standards in the field of quality, ecology, health and safety and social responsibility was explored. The state of implementation of good pharmaceutical practice (GPP), the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard, the risk management process for medicines quality, corrective and preventive actions has been studied in pharmacies. Positive tendencies and problems in the context of the readiness of pharmacies of Ukraine for the implementation of IQS have been established. Priority steps for improving the state of readiness of Ukrainian pharmacies for the implementation of IQS are identified.
The research results confirm that over the last years the pharmaceutical sector of Ukraine has made significant progress towards increasing the readiness of pharmaceutical institutions for the implementation of integrated quality systems.

Благодаря данному исследованию заполнен пробел в существующем знании о кадровой и образовательной политике в момент зарождения основ аптечного дела как специальности и как профессии в России. Целью данной статьи является анализ важного этапа для Российской империи (первая половина XIX века) по формированию образовательной и кадровой политики в области подготовки фармацевтов. Задачи: анализ формирования аптечной сети в России в XIX веке, анализ формирования фармацевтического образования в России в XIX веке, анализ формирования социального статуса аптекарских работников: жалованье, пенсия, условия работы. В качестве методологии авторы используют историко-конструктивистский подход, то есть сложившиеся законодательно-правовые отношения рассматриваются не только как часть прошлой реальности, но и как механизм порождения новых тенденций и реалий. В образовательной политике первой половины XIX века намечен переход от традиционно-ремесленного образования в аптеке к академическому образованию, появляется первый в России фармацевтический журнал, во второй половине XIX века появляется возможность для женщин в получении фармацевтического образования, формируется социальный статус аптекарей. Основная задача Правительства в первой половине XIX века была направлена на создание законодательной базы для обеспечения функционирования российской школы подготовки кадров для аптечного дела. Правительство Российской империи моделировало ситуацию, при которой лекарственное снабжение осуществлялось через сеть частных аптек, которое, как правило, находилось в самых крупных губернских городах европейской части, в то время как в функции казенных аптек в первую очередь входила обеспечение армии, как на территории европейской части страны, так и в самых уделанных частях империи. The relevance of the article is to explore how the legislative framework, infrastructure and other conditions have been shaped to create a cadre of pharmacy professionals of the highest standard. The years of the coronavirus pandemic have once again demonstrated the importance of having qualified pharmacists. This study fills a gap in existing knowledge about human resources and educational policies at the time of the birth of pharmacy as a profession and as a profession in Russia. The purpose of this article is to analyze an important stage for Russian Empire (first half of XIX century) on formation of educational and personnel policy in the field of pharmacists training. Objectives: analysis of formation of pharmacy network in Russia in XIX century, analysis of formation of pharmaceutical education in Russia in XIX century, analysis of formation of the social status of pharmacy workers: salary, pension, working conditions. As a methodology the authors use historic-constructivist approach, i.e. established legal relations are considered not only as a part of the past reality, but also as a mechanism of new tendencies and realities generation. The educational policy of the first half of the XIXth century marks the transition from traditional and handicraft education in pharmacy to academic education, the first pharmaceutical journal appears in Russia, in the second half of the XIXth century there appeared a possibility for women to receive the pharmaceutical education, the social status of pharmacists is formed. The main task of the Government in the first half of the XIX century was to create a legal basis for the Russian school of pharmacy training. Government of the Russian Empire modeled a situation where drug supply was carried out through a network of private pharmacies, which were usually located in the largest provincial cities of the European part, while the function of public pharmacies was primarily to provide the army, both in the European part of the country, and in the most settled parts of the empire.

Expansion of spectrum of the medical and pharmaceutical services leads to an annual increase in the use of medicines, and as a consequence of an increase in the amount of pharmaceutical waste. The pharmacy, in accordance with the requirements of Good Pharmacy Practice, should ensure the effective disposal of medicines that have become inadequate in the process of pharmacy production, storage or retail sale or not used by the population. In this regard, socially important to ensure the proper management of pharmaceutical waste at the pharmacy.
The aim of the work was the development of modern approaches to the formation of ecological responsibility of specialists for good disposal of medicines at the stage of providing pharmaceutical care to the population.
The objects of the study were the data of special literature and regulations on disposal of medicines in the countries of the European Union and in Ukraine. Used methods – analytical-comparative, systemic, logical, modeling and generalization.
Based on the analysis of the organization of the activities of pharmacies, as part of the general system of the disposal of pharmaceutical waste, including medicines, in different countries of the European Union found that most of them pharmacies – active participants in this process. Significant differences were found in the approaches to the collection and disposal of pharmaceutical waste in different countries. At the same time, these measures are most effectively implemented by pharmacies under the conditions of financial coverage by the pharmaceutical industry and wholesale pharmaceutical companies for the costs of preventing ecological impacts and conducting educational activities. As a result of systematization of the material, it is proposed to implement the draft National Standard of Good Pharmacy Practice «Participation of Pharmacists the Disposal of Medicines» as one of the ways of solving this problem.
An analysis of modern approaches to the management of pharmaceutical waste management systems in the countries of the European Union shows the active participation of pharmacies in the process. Particular importance in this case is given to conducting informational work to increase the ecological consciousness of the population, which will reduce the impact of pharmaceutical waste on the environment.

The introduction to the article analyzes the current state of the future pharmacists’ language competence, in particular English. The purpose of the study is to theoretically substantiate the essence of the concept of «English-language competence of future pharmacists» and highlight the features of its formation. Methods. In the process of fulfilling the goal a set of theoretical methods was used - analysis of scientific-methodical, psychological-pedagogical literature, study of normative-program documentation on the research topic. The results. Based on the analysis of the scientific literature, the essence of the concept of «profession-oriented English-language competence» is clarified together with its links with professional competence, language and communication. The author specifies the meaning of «profession-oriented English-language competence» as a set of knowledge, practice-oriented skills, mastery of medical concepts, techniques of logical thinking aimed at solving profession-oriented situational problems, realization of discussions in the form of questions and answers on professional topics. Conclusions. The article identifies the peculiarities of forming the profession-oriented English-language competence in teaching a foreign language to students of the pharmaceutical university: a foreign language in profession-oriented learning becomes not only the object of learning, but also a means of forming the students’ profession-oriented English-language competence; mastering a foreign language is realized in practice-oriented language activities, the ability to participate in the communication of profession-oriented topics, and not in the knowledge of individual elements of a language; increasing the role of self-study work of students is caused by the constant development of modern technologies and innovations in pharmacy, increasing the amount of professional information and pharmaceutical terminology in English, which requires the future specialist skills and abilities to master information independently; the professional activity of pharmacists is connected with the formation and further development of their clinical thinking, professional and personal qualities (observation, flexibility, purposefulness, concentration, determination, communicative literacy).

Cet objectif a nécessité la construction d’un protocole méthodologique appliqué à une telle situation et élaboré à partir d’une « référentialisation » justifiant le choix des indicateurs d’évaluation. Les résultats mettent en évidence une potentielle amélioration de la relation entre le pharmacien et le prescripteur, une prise de conscience éclairée par le pharmacien de son rôle actif dans la prévention de la pathologie iatrogène médicamenteuse, une meilleure utilisation pratique de l’outil informatique, une approche éducative du patient plus active.

Background: Understanding the internalized, psychological sense of being a professional may provide important insight into understanding pharmacists’ behaviours and attitudes in practice. Methods: It is difficult to directly or quantitatively measure an internalized psychological state such as profession-hood. An indirect method was selected in which pharmacists who were themselves patients or caregivers were identified and invited to discuss their experiences, as a vehicle for better understanding how they relied upon personal and professional identities during high-stress, impactful times. Results: A total of 17 community pharmacists from southern Ontario participated in this study. Regardless of demographic background, participants reported little reliance on professional identity, knowledge or role as a pharmacist when advocating for themselves or a loved one. Interpretation: These findings suggest that community pharmacists have incomplete, separated or functional (rather than existential) professional identities. This lack of professional identity may influence behaviours in practice such as interactions with other health care professionals or patients or self-confidence in clinical decision-making. Conclusions: Further work is necessary to better understand the socialization and professional identity formation of pharmacists to help support them through the current evolution of pharmacy towards more interdependent and complex clinical roles and decision-making.

The aim: To analyze, summarize and substantiate modern approaches to the formation of the professional competencies of pharmacists on issues of medicine quality assurance in Ukraine. Materials and methods: In this study, we performed systematic review, systematic and comparative analysis, content analysis, generalization, document analysis, logical and graphical modeling to address those issues. Conclusions: We showed that the curriculum and program of the «Basic foundations of the functioning of quality systems in pharmacy institutions» thematic improvement cycle for pharmacists have been substantiated and developed. The content of the program provides an opportunity to prepare pharmacists for independent work in the field of implementation and support of effective quality systems in pharmacy institutions and hospital pharmacy services. In the context of substantiation of modern approaches to the preparation of pharmacists in the field of medicines quality assurance, the experience and advantages of such modern forms of training of pharmacists as the use of training bases and blended learning have been studied. The modern approaches to the formation of the professional competencies of pharmacists on issues of medicine quality assurance in Ukraine have been analyzed, summarize and substantiated.

To date, one of the advanced educational and research centers of Kiev and Ukraine, which is the improving qualification of pharmacists on quality questions of medicines, is the Department of Quality Control and Standardization of Medicines of Shupyk National Medical Academy of Post-Graduate Education (NMAPE).
The aim of the work is to analyze the historical stages of formation and development of the Department of Quality Control and Standardization of Medicines of Shupyk NMAPE.
The materials of the research are: archival and current documentation of the department, scientific publications, encyclopedic reference materials. Studies were conducted using methods: content analysis, historical documentary, generalization and systematization of historical data.
In this work a retrospective analysis was performed and current state of activity of the Department of Quality Control and Standardization of Medicines of Shupyk NMAPE was considered. The basic stages of formation and historical development of the department during 1938 to 2018 are determined. The contribution to the development of pharmaceutical education and science of professors (prof. Ya.A. Fialkov, N.P. Maksyutina, O.M Gritsenko, N.O. Vetiutneva, etc.) was noted. The educational cycles, taught at the department, are shown, namely: specialization cycles, internships, pre-certification training in the specialties «Analytical Control Pharmacy», «General Pharmacy»; thematic improvement cycles on topical issues of pharmacy, quality assurance and prevention of falsification of medicines, functioning of quality systems of pharmacies (for pharmacists); cycles of improvement of assistant pharmacists; thematic improvement cycles on the scientific basis of phytotherapy and the use of modern medicines based on active ingredients of natural origin (for physicians). The basis of educational-methodical and scientific production of the department is described. The main areas of the scientific activity of the department are described, covering the following areas: development of methods for the investigation of complex synthetic compounds, methods for express analysis of extemporal multicomponent medicines, methods for quality control the of phytotherapeutic and homeopathic medicines; study of the composition and intermolecular interaction of biologically active compounds in plants and phytopreparations; synthesis and creation of new medicines and dietary supplements; study of the properties of crown compounds; study of the interaction of auxiliary substances with active ingredients; research on increasing the solubility of difficult soluble substances; substantiation of methodological and organizational-methodical principles of quality assurance of medicines at stages of wholesale, retail sale and medical use, etc.
Analysis of the activities of the Department of Quality Control and Standardization of Medicines of Shupyk NMAPE during 1938 to 2018 testifies to its significant contribution and great potential for the development of pharmaceutical science and practice, in particular in the direction of the creation, standardization, assurance and control of quality of medicines and dietary supplements.

Le 14 février 2023, certains ont fêté l’amour, d’autres ont fait grève. Cette grève a réuni les syndicats dont le Syndicat national des enseignants de médecine générale1, les sociétés savantes à travers le Collège de la médecine générale2, le Collège national des généralistes enseignants3 et même le Conseil national de l’Ordre des médecins. Dans la sémantique syndicale, l est classique d’utiliser les termes « union sacrée » et « tous ensemble ». Les revendications étaient aussi diverses que les fameux « 50 euros » de « Médecins pour demain » et la volonté de pouvoir former des maîtres de stage des universités. Pour une fois, la grève n’était peut-être pas contre quelque chose mais pour quelque chose : la reconnaissance des soins de santé primaires. La littérature scientifique4, les usagers de la santé reconnaissent l’importance des soins de santé primaires, capables de réduire la mortalité liée aux cancers et aux maladies cardiovasculaires, mais pas les tutelles. La médecine générale est la spécialité médicale qui a le plus perdu de médecins actifs entre 2010 et 20225. Comment notre ministère de la Santé et de la Prévention répond-il à la question complexe de cette crise démographique et de ce manque de reconnaissance ? Par une réponse simpliste, apaisant les plus populistes : des obligations, de la permanence de soins, des samedis, des gardes, de la téléconsultation, des objectifs chiffrés d’activité, etc. À aucun moment, il n’est question de sécurité ou de qualité des soins… Que faut-il aux tutelles pour comprendre le rôle des soins de santé primaires ? Les plus utopistes d’entre nous pensaient que l’universitarisation de ces soins – médecine générale, infirmiers en pratique avancée, etc. – allait changer les choses. Si vous ajoutez à l’universitarisation, certes très laborieuse, un ministère qui change de nom et fait de la place à la prévention, les soins de santé primaires se sentaient pousser des ailes. Tous les acteurs des soins de santé primaires, médecins, pharmaciens, infirmiers, par essence acteurs de prévention, étaient à même de diminuer les maladies chroniques cardiovasculaires et cancéreuses et leurs gradients sociaux6. Des champs de recherche multidisciplinaire s’ouvraient, et une autre organisation du système de santé, une autre vision de la santé était possible. Et qu’ont fait les tutelles ? Des mesurettes au relent coercitif et populiste, incapables de répondre aux réels besoins en santé des populations et dénotant au mieux une ignorance crasse, au pire une volonté de favoriser de grands groupes assurantiels. Comment changer les choses ? Probablement en ayant un jour un conseiller ou un ministre acteur de soins de santé primaires, mais là nous rejoignons les utopistes… Malgré le manque de reconnaissance, des acteurs de soins de santé primaires exercent, avec des moyens restreints et pendant de longues années, parfois bien après les 67 ans « de la retraite », faute de successeur. Malgré le manque de reconnaissance, les plus engagés de ces acteurs, dans les sociétés savantes, dans les syndicats, dans la formation se battent depuis de nombreuses années pour l’amélioration de la qualité et de la sécurité des soins. Pourquoi le font-ils ? Probablement par amour de leur métier. Le 14 février, parmi les acteurs de soins de santé primaires, amoureux et grévistes, les médecins ont dit quelle fierté ils avaient à être généralistes, dans la Creuse ou ailleurs.

Aim: substantiation of methodical approaches to assessing the effectiveness of marketing developments to determine the quality of service to pharmacy visitors, the formation and evaluation of their loyalty and conducting research on the effectiveness of the implementation of these developments in the activities of pharmacies. Materials and methods: pharmacy reporting, logical, comparative analysis, grouping, content analysis, economic and statistical methods. Results. Methodical approaches to the evaluation of the effectiveness of marketing developments to determine the quality of service to pharmacy visitors, the formation and evaluation of their loyalty are substantiated. It is proposed to determine the results of marketing measures of social and psychological orientation taking into account the time lag (one year after implementation), and the interpretation of indicators through the prism of the relevant results of the control pharmacy, where no marketing developments were implemented (to eliminate seasonal fluctuations and other external factors). The average value of a check per year, the number of checks per year and the average value of a check in the month of the beginning of the implementation of these developments were chosen as indicators for assessing the effectiveness of marketing developments. It is shown that in pharmacies where marketing developments were implemented, the improvement of the researched indicators grew at a faster rate compared to the control pharmacy. Conclusions. Researches have shown the presence of socio-economic effect in pharmacies in the implementation of marketing developments to determine the quality of service to pharmacy visitors, the formation and evaluation of their loyalty.
