Les noves tecnologies han capacitat als serveis de medicina intensiva per poder obtenir i gestionar grans quantitats d’informació que venen de diverses fonts. Aquesta informació s’obté amb diferents dispositius que conformen les TIC (tecnologia de la informació i la comunicació). Les grans bases de dades o Big Data contribueixen a millorar el coneixement i per tant a elaborar millors estratègies de tractament. Amb aquestes possibilitats apareixen un seguit de reptes que ens haurem de plantejar com poden ser: la manera d’obtenir les dades, com canvia la relació del personal sanitari amb el pacient, quin nivell de fiabilitat tenen les dades, com es protegeixen, qui n’és el propietari i com es comparteixen, etc.

Abstract (sommario):

Els plantejaments musicals a les escoles de Catalunya són diversos, més encara en una època de gran heterogeneïtat de models i projectes escolars. En aquest context, el present article té com a objectiu mostrar una perspectiva general de les realitats musicals escolars als Serveis Territorials del Vallès Occidental i del Consorci d’Educació de Barcelona. S’ha dut a terme un qüestionari que ha permès obtenir dades provinents de 135 escoles. El qüestionari comptava amb preguntes referents a la metodologia i estratègies didàctiques, a la formació, perfil i forma de treball de l’especialista i a l’ús de recursos TIC a l’aula. Els resultats mostren que els i les especialistes treballen a partir dels diversos contextos musicals d’aprenentatge, tot i que situen el bloc de cançó i veu com a eix, seguit del context d’audició. Així mateix, es constata que l´ús de recursos TIC és un àmbit poc explorat, en part a conseqüència de la manca de recursos i formació docent. Finalment, es discuteix sobre possibles tendències que situarien l’edat i el gènere del professorat com a factor que condiciona determinats plantejaments musicals a l’escola.

Abstract (sommario):

TiC-high Mn steel-bonded carbide with a cellular structure was designed and fabricated by powder metallurgy techniques using coarse and fine TiC particles as the hard phase. This preparation process of the alloy was designed carefully and optimized. The microstructure of the alloy was observed using a scanning electron microscope. The results show that there are two types of microstructures observed in this TiC steel-bonded carbide: the coarse-grained TiC structure and fine-grained TiC structure. The transverse rupture strength and impact toughness of the alloy reach maximum values 2231 MPa and 12.87 J/cm2, respectively, when the starting weight ratio of MP-A (containing coarse TiC particles) to MP-B (containing fine TiC particles) is 60:40. Hence, this study serves as a feasible and economical example to prepare a high-strength and high-toughness TiC-high Mn steel-bonded carbide with little production cost increase.

Abstract (sommario):

Insulating interlayer between nanoparticles and polymer matrix is crucial for suppressing the dielectric loss of polymer composites. In this study, titanium carbide (TiC) particles were surface modified by polydopamine (PDA), and the obtained PDA@TiC powders were used to reinforce thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). The results indicate that the PDA@TiC were homogenously dispersed in the matrix compared with the pristine TiC, and that the PDA@TiC/TPU composites show improved dielectric and mechanical properties, i.e., much lower dissipation factors and obviously enhanced dielectric breakdown strength, as well as higher tensile strength and elongation at break as compared to the raw TiC/TPU. The nanoscale PDA interlayer contributes to the dielectric and mechanical enhancements because it not only serves as an insulating shell that prevents TiC particles from direct contacting and suppresses the loss and leakage current to very low levels, but also enhances the interfacial interactions thereby leading to improved mechanical strength and toughness. The prepared flexible PDA@TiC/TPU with high permittivity but low loss will find potential applications in electronic and electrical applications.

To investigate the effect of artemisinic acid (AA) on improving the production of terpenoid indole alkaloids (TIAs) of Catharanthus roseus cambial meristematic cells (CMCs), feeding AA to C. roseus CMCs caused 2.35-fold and 2.51-fold increases in the production of vindoline and catharanthine, respectively, compared with those of the untreated CMCs. qRT-PCR experiments showed that AA resulted in a 1.36-8.52 fold increase in the transcript levels of several related genes, including octadecanoid-derivative responsive Catharanthus AP2-domain protein 3 (ORCA3), tryptophan decarboxylase (TDC), strictosidine synthase (STR) and desacetoxyvindoline 4-hydroxylase (D4H). However, no effect was observed on the concentration of either jasmonic acid (JA), or the octadecanoid-pathway inhibitors block TIA accumulation caused by AA. The results indicated that AA might serve as a novel ORCA3 inducer to manipulate biosynthesis of TIAs in C. roseus CMCs via an unknown mechanism.

Dans cet article, nous précisons le lien entre TIC, stratégie et organisation du travail dans les PME à travers l’étude des fonctions des TIC. L’objectif est de mieux comprendre les comportements des PME en matière d’utilisation des TIC et d’en anticiper les évolutions.Nous utilisons une grille de lecture montrant que l’information a non seulement des fonctions opérationnelles (fabriquer ou vendre mieux, moins cher, etc.), mais également sociales (humaines, organisationnelles). Elle sert aussi à montrer ou afficher une certaine efficacité ou qualité et à rassurer ou se rassurer. À partir de cette grille, nous posons la question de savoir à quoi servent les TIC pour les PME et nous dégageons cinq comportements types plus ou moins cohérents avec la stratégie d’entreprise et à partir desquels des préconisations d’action peuvent être faites : 1) les « intégrées », qui ont une vision à long terme cohérente entre l’usage des TIC et leur stratégie, 2) les « sous pression », poussées par l’environnement et peu sensibles aux questions sociales, 3) les « borgnes », pour qui les TIC sont plus encombrantes qu’utiles, au moins pour une activité, 4) les « fébriles » et 5) les « hyperactives », qui ont besoin de clarifier leur positionnement stratégique.

Abstract (sommario):

In recent years, improvement of metals mechanical properties becomes one of the main challenges in materials and particularly in metallurgical industry. Mostly, an alloying process is typically applied to reach metals enhanced performance. This work, however, describes a different methodology, where WC and TiC nanoparticles used as a modifiers and then gas-dynamic treatment (GDT) are applied. These processes were investigated on a hypoeutectic casting aluminum A356 alloy. Microstructural evaluation illustrated that a coarse Al grains were refined as well as eutectic Si particles were formed. Subsequent mechanical properties tests revealed that aluminum elongation enhanced while strength remained unchanged. Addition of WC and TiC enhanced the elongation by 20-60%, depends on the mold area. A combined treatment, using GDT with addition of TiCN nanoparticles showed even improvement in both, elongation and strength by 18 and 19%, respectively. Moreover, based on the electron microscopy studies, this behavior was attributed to a grain-size strengthening mechanism, where a high concentration of grain boundaries serves as dislocation movement blockers

Introducción: el objetivo general de este proyecto es la utilización de las TIC aplicadas a la Dietoterapia mediante la elaboración de vídeos docentes. Se procedió a la redacción de guiones, grabación y montaje de los vídeos, selección de una plataforma accesible y uso de licencias Creative Commons para su libre difusión.Material y métodos: la metodología llevada a cabo se centra en el programa DocenTIC del Servei de Formació Permanent i Innovació Educativa de la Universitat de València.Resultados: el resultado fue la creación de cuatro vídeos educativos centrados en la historia clínica, psicología, cineantropometría y educación alimentaria, todos ellos aspectos necesarios para llevar a cabo un buen consejo nutricional o práctica diaria dentro de un gabinete dietoterapéutico. Permitirán, además, implementar la docencia realizada de forma teórica en las aulas estando disponibles en diferentes plataformas de libre acceso como Roderic y Mmedia y en la web www.uv.es/dietetic. Para la creación de vídeos educativos es necesaria la preparación de un guión adecuado temporalmente y adaptado a los conocimientos teóricos adquiridos por el alumno en las clases de Dietoterapia.Conclusiones: el desglose de los vídeos en cuatro partes, permite visualizar la actitud de los dietistas-nutricionistas potenciando el fortalecimiento educativo de los futuros profesionales. Incluir los vídeos educativos en plataformas de libre acceso permitirá su utilización tanto a alumnos como a titulados.

One of the authors proposed a non-equilibrium powder metallurgy process, which enables the fabrication of a near net-shape product using TiC and TiN/Silicide ceramic composites. The PM process in combination with mechanical alloying (MA) and Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) are applied to produce nano-grain composite, TiC/Ti5Si3. Powders of elements Ti and SiC whose composition is Ti-20 mass%SiC are blended for MA. After the alloying, the MA powder whose average particle size is 20~30 μm, has amorphous-like structures, and then the MA powder is compacted by SPS. Results of compression-tests indicate the occurrence of unusual hightemperature deformation behaviors such as low flow stress at the lower deformation temperature or at the high initial strain rates were observed in the SPS compacts. TEM observations of the deformed compacts after the compression-tests indicate the microstructure has no-strain equiaxial - grains and clear boundaries. This serves as proof of a superplasticity deformation. In addtion, the results of the XRD analysis of the compressed-compacts show that new phases are formed during the compression-test. Therefore, the above deformation is attributed to a "pseudo" superplasticity in which the phase transition of metastable microstructure occurs during the deformation.

We present Plato, a probabilistic model for entity resolution that includes a novel approach for handling noisy or uninformative features, and supplements labeled training data derived from Wikipedia with a very large unlabeled text corpus. Training and inference in the proposed model can easily be distributed across many servers, allowing it to scale to over 107 entities. We evaluate Plato on three standard datasets for entity resolution. Our approach achieves the best results to-date on TAC KBP 2011 and is highly competitive on both the CoNLL 2003 and TAC KBP 2012 datasets.

Background. EPZ005687 is a selective inhibiter of methyltransferase EZH2. In this article, we investigated the protective role and mechanism of EPZ005687 in transverse aortic constriction-induced pulmonary arterial hypertension in mice. Methods. We assigned 15 (6–8 weeks old) male balb/c mice to 3 groups randomly: Sham control + DMSO group, TAC + DMSO group, and TAC + EPZ005687 group (10 mg kg−1, once a week for 4 weeks). On day 28 following TAC operation, the right ventricular systolic blood pressure (RVSBP) was measured, and lung tissues were collected for laboratory examinations (DHE, Western blot, real-time PCR, and ChIP). Results. Murine PAH model was successfully created by TAC operation as evidenced by increased RVSBP and hypertrophic right ventricle. Compared with the sham control, TAC-induced PAH markedly upregulated the expression of EZH2 and ROS deposition in lungs in PAH mice. The inhibiter of methyltransferase EZH2, EPZ005687 significantly inhibits the development of TAC-induced PAH in an EZH2-SOD1-ROS dependent manner. Conclusion. Our data identified that EZH2 serves a fundamental role in TAC-induced PAH, and administration of EPZ005687 might represent a novel therapeutic target for the treatment of TAC-induced PAH.

Lower urinary tract neoplasia in companion animals is a debilitating and often life-threatening disease. Tumors of the bladder, urethra, and prostate often occur independently, although extension of these tumors into adjacent regions of the lower urinary tract is documented frequently. The most common lower urinary tract tumor in dogs and cats is transitional cell carcinoma (TCC). In both dogs and cats, TCC affecting the urinary bladder is generally considered to be highly aggressive with both local and metastatic disease potential, and this disease poses unique treatment challenges. Whereas much literature exists regarding the TCC disease process, treatment options, and prognosis in dogs, relatively few studies on feline TCC have been published due to the lower incidence of TCC in this species. Prostate tumors, most commonly adenocarcinomas, occur less commonly in dogs and cats but serve an important role as a comparative model for prostate neoplasia in humans. This article serves as a review of the current information regarding canine and feline lower urinary tract neoplasia as well as the relevance of these diseases with respect to their human counterparts.

ABSTRACT The Fas-activated serine/threonine phosphoprotein (FAST) is tethered to the outer mitochondrial membrane, where it interacts with BCL-XL (17). Here we show that RNA interference-mediated knockdown of endogenous FAST results in apoptosis, whereas overexpressed recombinant FAST inhibits Fas- and UV-induced apoptosis, indicating that FAST is a survival protein. The antiapoptotic effects of FAST are regulated by interactions with the translational silencer TIA-1: a FAST mutant lacking its TIA-1-binding domain does not inhibit apoptosis, and overexpressed recombinant TIA-1 inhibits the antiapoptotic effects of FAST. Because the antiapoptotic effects of FAST require ongoing protein synthesis, we hypothesized that FAST might function by preventing TIA-1-mediated silencing of mRNAs encoding inhibitors of apoptosis. Consistent with this hypothesis, FAST promotes the expression of cotransfected reporter proteins, a process that requires its TIA-1-binding domain and is inhibited by overexpressed recombinant TIA-1. More compellingly, recombinant FAST increases the expression of endogenous cIAP-1 and XIAP, but not GAPDH, in transfected HeLa cells. Because FAST is released from mitochondria in cells undergoing Fas- or UV-induced apoptosis, we propose that FAST serves as a sensor of mitochondrial stress that modulates a TIA-1-regulated posttranscriptional stress response program.

Abstract The endocannabinoid system serves a critical role in homeostatic regulation through its influence on processes underlying appetite, pain, reward, and stress, and cannabis has long been used for the related modulatory effects it provides through tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). We investigated how THC exposure relates to tissue microstructure of the cerebral cortex and subcortical nuclei using computational modeling of diffusion magnetic resonance imaging data in a large cohort of young adults from the Human Connectome Project. We report strong associations between biospecimen-defined THC exposure and microstructure parameters in discrete gray matter brain areas, including frontoinsular cortex, ventromedial prefrontal cortex, and the lateral amygdala subfields, with independent effects in behavioral measures of memory performance, negative intrusive thinking, and paternal substance abuse. These results shed new light on the relationship between THC exposure and microstructure variation in brain areas related to salience processing, emotion regulation, and decision making. The absence of effects in some other cannabinoid-receptor-rich brain areas prompts the consideration of cellular and molecular mechanisms that we discuss. Further studies are needed to characterize the nature of these effects across the lifespan and to investigate the mechanistic neurobiological factors connecting THC exposure and microstructural parameters.

The functionally graded thermal barrier coating (TBC) serves in high temperature and/or high temperature gradient environment for a long time. According to the experimental and theoretical research, in the metal substrate and the metal-rich interlayer creep deformation will appear under high temperature environment. In order to design and optimize the compositional distribution of FGM, it is necessary to analyze the stress and strain responses taking into account the creep phenomenon of the materials. In this article, the thermo-mechanical responses of ceramic/metal functionally graded TBC in work environment are analyzed by a finite element method. The creep phenomenon of the metal and the interlayers are taken into account. The numerical results indicate that the creep behavior of all interlayers, even for the ceramic-rich interlayer, cannot be neglected in analysis. It is suggested that the creep phenomenon of the material is important in the functionally graded TBC systems.

A structural-phase state developed on the surface of TiC/Ni-Cr-Al alloy cermet under condition of superfast heating and cooling produced by pulse electron beam melting has been presented. The effect of the surface structural state multimodality on the temperature dependencies of friction and endurance of the cermet tool in cutting metal has been investigated. High-energy flux treatment of subsurface layers by electron beam pulses in argon-containing gas discharge plasma serves to improve the endurance of metal cutting tools multiply ( by a factor of 6), to reduce friction on the account of precipitation of secondary 200 nm carbides in binder interlayers. It is possible to improve the cermet tool endurance for cutting metal by a factor of 10-12 by irradiating the cermet in a reactive nitrogen-containing atmosphere with ensuing precipitation of nanosize 50 nm AlN particles in the binder interlayers.

Traumatic bone cyst (TBC), a “pseudocyst” that usually affects long bones, is a rare lesion among cystic lesions in the jaws. The most commonly affected site is the posterior mandible. Most of the time, TBC is asymptomatic and discovered during routine radiographic examination. The treatment recommended for TBC is surgical exploration followed by curettage of the bony walls, which also serves as a diagnostic procedure. A 27-year-old Caucasian male with a noncontributory medical history was referred to our department for the endodontic evaluation of the mandibular right first and second molars, which were connected to an extensive asymptomatic osteolytic lesion. A multimodular diagnostic assessment involving CBCT imaging, ultrasound, and histopathologic examination led to a definite diagnosis of a TBC overlapping with apical periodontitis (AP). Subsequently, a multidisciplinary treatment approach was performed, including surgical excision and biopsy of the lesion, endodontic retreatment of the right mandibular first molar, and postsurgical root canal treatment of the second molar. During the follow-up period of five years, the patient was reassessed periodically once a year and showed, in the absence of signs and symptoms, progressive healing of the affected area. The present article reports a case following the CARE guidelines of a TBC combined with AP where a multimodular diagnostic assessment was performed and discusses the possible pathogenetic mechanisms involved in its generation.

Subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphomas (SPTLs) α/β are rare in childhood. The present report refers to a case of a 7-year-old male child presenting an extensive skin lesion that began when he was 5 years of age. Two biopsies were evaluated using the CD3, CD4, CD8, CD56,βF1, and TIA markers. A dense infiltrate of CD3+, CD4−, CD8+, CD56−,βF1+, and TIA+ pleomorphic lymphocytes was found in the subcutis. The previous biopsy showed cytophagic histiocytic panniculitis with a small focus on CD8+ andβF1+ malignant cells. The lesion regressed spontaneously. This case shows that prognosis may be excellent in SPTL (α/β). On the other hand, it also serves as an alert that a biopsy performed in an area of cytophagic panniculitis may lead to misdiagnosis.

Esta Sentencia nos sirve para realizar unas reflexiones acerca de la regulación de las vías de participación directa en nuestro sistema constitucional y de las consideraciones que ha realizado el Tribunal acerca del contenido de la mencionada norma.The STC 51/2017, of May 10, has estimated the appeal of unconstitutionality presented by the President of the Government in relation to certain precepts of the Catalan Law 4/2010, of March 17, of popular consultations by referendum. This Judgment serves to make some reflections about the regulation of direct participation in our constitutional system and the considerations that the constitutional Court has made about the content of the mentioned norm.
